You'll have no inventory to check (nor will you need anything), and only once will you have to do anything more that Hit X to interact with an object. You'll have no decisions to make, and no one to interact with, and no other objects in the setting can be manipulated or moved other than the few specific to that "level". You might even get a full 2 hours of entertainment from renting a movie, which you're unlikely to get from Evil Inside.

The premise is old and tired, a happy family that has their life turned upside down after dad murders mom. You're the teenage protagonist son who is the sole caregiver for your infant little brother, living in the same house...perhaps the most horrifying part of the entire plot is the apparent ineptitude of the local Child & Family Services authorities. All the stereotypical horror flick elements are there, and basically little else. Baby in the crib with distorted lullaby audio? Check. Clowns? Check. All the lights turn red? Check. Jump scares? Check (over and over again). There's no development of the story, no character arcs, and after a bit, you'll question exactly what the protagonists mission really is. The dialogue is short, emotionless and does nothing to further or build any sort of meaningful drama. Luckily, there's little of it to listen to.

After passing through the house a number of times, you'll hope for your patience to be rewarded with a dramatic and unexpected twist at the end. It won't be.

No console control options at all. The lack of inverted controls and the lack of sensitivity options makes this currently unplayable for me. INo console control options at all.
