    The plot didn't engage me as much because it focused extensively on the interpretive and dream-like aspects of the narrative. While I appreciate the wide range of story paths available, I question the necessity of this genre when the industry has already proven that immersive storytelling can be achieved through gameplay-focused games, which this game falls short of providing.

    Un juego innovador, con su propia APP para que la experiencia sea mas inmersiva, estamos ante una "Película Interactiva"

    Gráficamente luce espectacular y vas tomando decisiones que elegirán tu futuro en el videojuego hasta llegar a uno de los finales. El juego dura 2h aproximadamente, pero es muy regulable debido a sus múltiples finales.     A ideia do projeto é boa, uma fusão de filme live-action como um jogo. O problema é que Erica consegue ser medíocre em ambos, como jogo é entediante e com a jogabilidade horrível. Como filme é clichê, sem graça, não empolga, com vários furos de roteiro, sem pé e nem cabeça. Mesmo sabendo que é o jogador que define o rumo da história, acho impossível imaginar um cenário onde    Nota: 2.5

    The game is incredibly corny. The writing is very mixed and performances are not very good. The overall mystery of the game is interesting and in my playthrough choices did have consequences. The controls are also extremely bad in this game like wonky N64 controls but way worse.

    The controls are beyond terrible. I expected better than this trash game! I couldn't focus on the story because of it.

    Erica is absolutely a passing project on the PS4. An interactive film in which there is no strong main plot, weak acting and a minimal amount of interactivity as such. There are 5 endings in the game, only the first 3 are of interest. The main 2 is "player torture" to receive a platinum trophy. Why did I not understand such terrible control, playing from a smartphone is uncomfortable.Erica is absolutely a passing project on the PS4.     Короткая игра, хоть и любитель подобного жанра, однако игра для меня оказалась посредственная и порой непонятная в плане сюжета, точнее сказать не понимание, что двигало разработчиком, когда он эту игру делал.     Great acting and the story was interesting. Although the story is quite short and the pacing is off towards the end, it was still a fun experience for me. I enjoy these type of decision based games and gotta say it was worth it for the price I paid (a few bucks on a ps plus deal!). So if playing a game that feels like a movie is a dealbreaker for you, this is not for you Imo.

    A very good story game in my opinion. It really grabs you in and makes you think about some things. I would have to say that there are some confusing areas but in all a fun game.

    It was a really good experience. I didn't know a thing about this title before the beginning, and it was nice, fresh suprise. I appreciate the storytelling, but if you looking for a gameplay, well, look somewhere else.

    I love the mix of video and game play. It's like ur making your own movie. Plus it has plenty of interaction times, to keep you immersed in what's going on. Its Not just react or interact once every 20 or 30 minutes.

    Garbage. Wouldn't work on my ps4 without the app no matter what controller I tried so I had to use my ps5 (the app has connection issues). The game makes decisions for you if you don't decide on a moment's notice and if you don't like the decision it made for you then you're SOL. It automatically saves anyways and you'll have to start all the way over. Couple that with the swipes sometimesGarbage. Wouldn't work on my ps4 without the app no matter what controller I tried so I had to use my ps5 (the app has connection issues).     Si haces un juego de elecciones, que todas las elecciones te cuenten la historia, si no, no tiene sentido.

    These is only one thing I don't like it this game - it's ending. It's sort of rough and not self-explanatory. Event after watching all possible ending in youtube I'm not sure how the scenario works. In such a genre as interactive movie I think scenario should be better. It's not bad but could be better. But in any case game is short - about 2 hours so it totally worths to go through it.

    This was free PS+ "game". Erica is an interactive movie, there's no game here. The story was alright if somewhat jumpy. Watched it once, not sure if I'll try to get the other endings at some point.

They do have incidence, but which is very unclear to guess most of the times. And, oh, the mechanics if you decide to use a controller, terrible…! Haven’t tried smartphone controls. In my case, the game finished so abruptly. Really didn’t expect that even though the rest of the game’s quality says a lot.

    I encourage developers to try creating more games like these, obviously such as the very good ones Quantic Dream has released, but this one just wasn’t it.    … Expand

    Intriguing FMV adventure with a pretty unique touch-centered control scheme. If you’re a fan of narrative-driven “choose your own adventure” type of games. For what it’s worth, Erica is not a bad option.
    The game would be more replayable with a proper chapter select though.

    The whole setting is not new. For the the players who like the mental hospitals theme and near occultism stuff it will be great, but for others - just normal.

    Eu realmente queria gostar de Erica, a história até é legalzinha mas os controles são tão ruins que eu nem consegui aproveitar direito, só entendi como se usava aquilo direito no final do jogo. Eu entendo a tentativa e admito que foi interessante, mas no fim não deu certo.

Except the one who had a gun (no spoilers). The fact I could go in full on (optional) murder mode was cool. Nope they didn't wimp out on this one for sure. The ending was a bit anti-climatic.     Competent but unremarkable interactive thriller with gimmicky controls. If you can't be bothered to install the mobile app and pair your phone with your console, the game has you use the trackpad for basically everything instead of a more conventional - and, frankly, more immersive - mapping, like e.g. in David Cage's games

    in a game like this story is crutial, I want to instantly be hooked, I want to want to know the outcome, and while my girlfriend was instantly hooked, it took me until the psych ward was introduced for this game to peak my interest…
    gameplay ise you have the choice of controller or via app with your smart phone, the latter I found to be the best way to play, youre not simply just choosing things like dialog or which door to go through, but youre also interacting with certain items in the world itself such as wiping the fog from a mirror or window, I was overall a bit disappointed in a lack of choices feeling like they really mattered, don’t get me wrong there are a few different paths to go down, but the story for me wasn’t engaging enough for me to see this game through to its end more than twice, I rarely had that moment like a good telltale game where I made a choice and immediately regretted it or kept me up at night wondering if I did this differently how things might have turned out..
    that being said Ericka did eventually get its hooks in me, I was intrigued wanting to see how everything played out, but I just feel the overall package is a bit lackluster,
    the experience was so close to being good at times, but I was just never blown away and nothing happened to call for discussion outside of the experience, which again I feel something like this just needs.
    Howver my girlfriend, someone not really a gamer loved it much more than I did, she was more immersed than I was, she was more paranoid and more skeptical of everyone in this story, so in that case Erica did it jobs perfectly.
    While this story may not hit home for everyone, its potential to makes this game worth at least giving a shot to

The only thing that makes this "movie" unique from traditional cinema is makes you do something so trivial as wiping of a mirror when most of the things you are tasked with doing makes zero impact in the story.

    And the controls… What a mess, using the touchpad on the controller as your only input is nothing but a pain in the ass. When choosing between four different options, why not use one of the four face buttons? I get the ”immersion” when doing it on some thing that’s a swiping motion in real life like dusting of a desk or clearing the fog of a window. But for everything else I would have preferred the face-buttons on the controller.

    Not worth any money, If you got it with PS+ I would still be hesitant to even recommend anyone to download this to their PS4.

    então pra se proteger dessa pessoa que lhe enviou as mãos ela e enviado para um hospital
    psiquiatra onde o pai dela trabalhava e dai a historia continua apartir de suas escolhas.

    Bom o que eu posso dizer agora sobre ERICA e que e um "filme interativo" onde no minimo
    você tera que jogar duas a três vezes para você entender a historia completa que o jogo
    quer lhe-oferecer.

    I've only played through once and have a long way to go for the platinum, but here's why I rated it 8.

    Bad news first- I'm somewhat of an achievement whore, and the wonky touchscreen controls detracted from the experience. I had to restart 5 times on the first play through to accurately swipe the right direction at the right time to reach the desired end.     Good news- The immersion. The graphics are second-to-none compared to any game I've played in this console generation. The main character is so real, so loveable, and incredibly relatable. The story is believable, the voice acting is surreal, and all characters' body language is worthy of Hollywood acclaim. All spring characters are believable and add so much to the overall story.

    I only take off one point for the touchscreen control issue, but an otherwise perfect game. Thank you for the experience, Sony!    … Expand

Por eu ser um fã de jogos de escolhas como os jogos do David Cage, achei a ideia bem interessante em colocar uma personagem que esta passando por problemas desde a morte do Pai descobrir de fato o que ocasionou a sua morte e o porque de todos os acontecimentos dentro da Casa Delfos estarem conectados com a série de assassinatos.

    Dublagem em Pt-Br está muito boa com bons nomes como Mauro Ramos e Luiz Antonio Lobue.
    História envolvente.
    Personagens principais cativantes.
    Diversos Segredos e Colecionáveis.
    Trilha Sonora.
    Contras
    Quem não está acostumado com os jogos de escolhas, irá passar um pouco de dificuldade em executar os movimentos.
    Atuação dos personagens secundários deixa muito a desejar algumas vezes.

    O jogo possui uma história bacana e personagens bem intrigantes, me amarrei nisso, porém acho que seria melhor se fosse feito em gráficos de jogo com uma produção no estilo ''Quantic Dream'' do que gravado na vida real.

    I really enjoyed playing this game even tho interactive stories isnt really my thing, i liked the controlls to let me use the touchpad more. i hope they will make more games with the touchpad but better story overall

    Клёвая игра! Когда раздали в прошлом месяце в плюсе все писали, что это кал. Сегодня решил установить. И не слез пока 3 раза не прошел. Впервые играю в такое кино. Интересный опыт. Советую. Тем более нахаляву)

    Erica is an intriguing attempt at a unique interactive live action game. However the bizarre controls on the touchpad and the husk of a narrative leave the game with little appeal. It might have made for a semi decent thriller movie if the script was tighter, but as a game, it doesn't work half as well.

    The characters are believable, specially the main cast, impeccable acting. The story progresses fast and buildups quite nicely for the climax. It really made me care for the characters.     Muy bueno! Estando gratis en PS Plus decidí darle una oportunidad y la verdad es que me sorprendió gratamente. En mi opinión, Holly Earl (Erica) y su gran actuación es lo mejor del juego y la temática es bastante interesante y poco vista... altamente recomendable.

    The mechanics of Erica are fine. I used the iOS app to control the choices in the game. The little actions like opening a box or turning a key are done well and remind me of both Heavy Rain and puzzle games like The Room. Sony has a nice framework for making good interactive movies.

    My problem with Erica are the boring movie and the lackluster manner in which the player changes the story. The characters all flat, including Erica herself. Its as if someone told the actors that the project was a video game and their performances did not matter. This game is in stark contrast to the lively portrayals in Bandersnatch. The actress who players Erica is well enough, but she is given the least dialogue of any character. The casting was also suspect, as Erica looks about 3 feet tall next to all the other actors.

    The interactive story elements all lead to the same conclusion. Erica only becomes an active part of the story at the end. This makes nearly all the player choices are immaterial. It also means that there is little reason to suffer through the game more than once, not even for a platinum trophy. Most all interactive games suffer from this problem. The difference with Erica is that there are no meaningful small decisions to be made through the beginning and middle of the game. Erica cannot save anyone or push the story along in any way. The player has no choice but to go through the motions and listen to sad music written by Austin Wintry.

    If I were to imagine a better game, I would base it off a story that is driven by the protagonist. I imagine the awesomeness of an interactive game where the protagonist has a goal and the player can help or hinder the protagonist through moral decisions from start to finish. Imagine if something like Breaking Bad were an interactive movie/game. Such a game could have wildly different endings and all of them would be real to the player because the player made them happen. This is why Erica is so disappointing. Maybe the moral of this game's story is that if you are going to make an interactive game/movie, choose to be ambitious.

    This was free on the PSN so I thought I would try it out. Unfortunately for the first time ever I'm going to issue a zero score for a game on the basis that the controls for this are utterly terrible, to the point I had to give up after 5 minutes with the game being almost unplayable for me on a PS4 controller.

Dialogue flows well considering you're in control of what Erica says or does in certain situations and your choices will affect the outcome of the story in a meaningful way

    Which brings me onto my next point, the gameplay. Erica's narrative and characters are definitely it's strong suit. You control the game using the touch-pad on your PS4 controller or an app on your phone. My making simple motions on the touchscreen you can select different options or do various actions. In theory this sounds great but more often than not it does not work well which makes the actions you perform and the actions you see on screen feel disconnected. After a while the actions become stale, assuming they even work at all. On top of that the choices are sometimes worded quite poorly which makes choosing even harder. There were quite a few times where I chose an option I thought I agreed with but then regretted immediately because it was not as it was 'described'.

    The music is incredible and really elevates some scenes to the next level. There is music for emotional scenes which really make you feel the situations Erica is going through. There is music for tense parts which really get you on edge. Overall, for such a small studio, the quality of the product is incredible.

    All that being said, this game shines in its narrative and music but falls flat in terms of gameplay. The fact your choices affect the outcome of the story in a meaningful way is really cool but I can't help but feel like this story was a better fit for an actual movie or TV Show due to the lack of fun and engaging gameplay.    … Expand

    Other interactive elements do give you some choices, but you never feel that the choices you make really change the action very much. I only played this through once and I read afterwards that there are 7 different endings but I couldn't think how I would have expected it (or wanted it) to end any better or worse than it did the first time.

    The story was 'ok' if a bit predictable and the actors didn't do a terrible job (some better than others), but that wasn't enough to rescue the disappointing interactive aspect which should really have been the main focus of the production.    … Expand

    Loved it, it's a good interactive story game.

Hard pass and if anyone tells you this is an easy platinum don't believe them, around the 4th playthrough I started feeling a physical level of disgust from just playing the game...and it takes around 6 playthroughs to plat. Hard pass!

    P.S.: Dear PS+, you owe all of your subscribers a free game just for including this **** as a "bonus". Pathetic...    … Expand

But just getting your phone ready for this gane can be a hasle anyway so its hardly ideal. The story is also unnecessarily convoluted and poorly paced. This lady claims she wants to help you even though she traumatized you for life. I'd go further into how this story makes very little sense but i'd be here all day.
    Overall, this game is okay. Being as i got it for free theres not much to complain about. Theres also many diffrrent endings and outcomes to decisions judging by the trophy list. I dont know why anyone would want to actuallg play the game to see them through but they are there.    … Expand

Had the game offered me a way to just burn everything down it could have been enjoyable. Luckily, it does! Shooting people and burning the place down felt very satisfying.

    This game feels lazy to me. Sony should be publishing actual video games, not half baked movies. It was rather underwhelming, i give this 'game' a 5/10. At least it was better than Destiny 2.    … Expand

    It would be better as a film but not as a game. I think almost every one is complaining about controls so I leave this topic, but the plot is not that interesting in my opinion. In other interactive games that I've played I always wondered "what would happen if I do something else", but in this game, I don't have that feeling. It's not a nad game but it could be bette.

    Dopo aver scoperto il genere con Late Shift l'ho acquistato senza esitazioni dato anche il doppiaggio in Italiano e non i soliti sottotitoli. Film interattivo molto curato che vale ogni euro del basso prezzo di listino, costa meno che vedere una sola volta un film al cinema e con la differenza che gli eventi dipenderanno dalle nostre scelte

    I've played the story 6 times and spent in total around 13 hourswith the game.

    First, let's start with the positives. The lighting, sound and quality of the actual filiming is quite good. Typically these FMV games have low quality visuals, but you can tell this got a decent budget from PlayStation and it stands out compared to other FMVs.     First, let's start with the positives. The lighting, sound and quality of the actual filiming is quite good. Typically these FMV games have low quality visuals, but you can tell this got a decent budget from PlayStation and it stands out compared to other FMVs. The story on the first playthrough also seems quite interesting. But that's really where the positives end.

    Now the negatives, of which there are a lot. First of all, the controls are absolutely horrible. I'm not sure who's wonderful idea it was to create a phone app as one of the two ways to contol the game,but it was a silly idea. Why would I even consider downloading an app on my phone that wastes storage for a game that I'm only going to play a few times? The only other option is using the DS4 Touchpad. Even this is horrible and not very accurate. Next, there is absolutely no chapter select, or a list of all endings that you've currently unlocked (by example, such things are available in Late Shift). This makes it incredible tedious to replay the game and track the endings you have unlocked and how many there are in total. Also, if you feel you messed up, you can't just quit the game and restart the checkpoint - if you wanted to restart then you would need to start from scratch. The quality of acting across the board is pretty mixed. Some characters are ridiculously bad while others demonstrate some quality, however nobody is exactly amazing. Makes sense considering having A list stars wouild make this game more expensive. The game also used up 40GB of storage which is shocking. Finally, replaying the game provides no real incentive as most decisions and dialogue options are absolutely meaningless.

    TL;DR: I wouldn't recommend buying this game. Maybe on sale if it's about £3. I spent £5 and I regret it.    … Expand

В игре где главное сюжет, и правильный выбор, ты не можешь сделать этот самый правильный выбор из-за ебаного сенсора!     Nor a good game or a movie. 2-3 times is enought to understand ALL that is happening (only one true ending, others are nonsense, but there are holes in this one too, like everyting in the plot is undone). Controls are disgustive. ”Easy” platinum also is boring AF, no chapter select or anything, such game desing, eh.

    Brilliant game, excellent cinematography and plenty of twists... as well as many different outcomes means it can be played multiple times

    The production values place Erica in good company as an FMV psychological thriller, but with a near total absence of gameplay and a plot that struggles to consistently thrill, what’s left is an underwhelming choose-your-own-adventure tale that leaves a poor lingering impression.

    Erica is a weird mixture of inconsistent but mostly quality writing, with astounding visuals and soundtrack. It poses as a truly interesting experience and even though with its flaws it is a step in the right direction for FMV games.
