    Honestly, one of the worst football games I have ever played. It is no surprise that the franchise is going to be free from now onwards: there is no comparison with FIFA. I guess eFootball is an option for casual gamers who do not want to pay too much for a football game, but, in my opinion, it is no longer a decent football game; gameplay is simply awful, in many senses: the movements ofHonestly, one of the worst football games I have ever played.     Manipulated game. Konami let bad players win, cause they want thier coins. It not only about skills and luck. When coins come in the game, game affects manipulation. Coop is good, but single game, my club is verry corrupted.

    FIFA is Arcady and whatever but at least it’s playable and… fun. Yeah fun. That thing Konami left behind with their skill gap. It’s gonna be worse on Unreal since the Unreal engine has a notoriously horrendous workflow and updates from PES will be way fewer.

    Straight fail if it didn’t look pretty. And that’s what it is, a pretty red Cadillac with no engine.

    Não sei nem por onde começar ao falar dessa bosta! Acho incrível q 99% da minha crítica está baseada na jogabilidade doentia desse jogo. Sendo assim, escolho começar pelos níveis de dificuldade q não fazem sentido algum. Se vc coloca no profissional, por exemplo, em uma partida de 5 minutos, o jogo vai ser difícil! Ok, até ai tudo certo. Porém, se vc aumentar o tempo da partida, colocar 30Não sei nem por onde começar ao falar dessa bosta! Combinações entre os analógicos que tentam se assemelhar ao drible na vida real quando na verdade a proposta é de ser um jogo arcade, pra q?????? Se o jogo é arcade pra q vai querer “simular um movimento de drible”? Não trouxe realismo nenhum. Poderiam ter deixado controles simples para a realização do drible, semelhantes ao do FIFA Street.
    Ademais, cabe ressaltar alguns outros detalhes menores q me incomodaram muito como, por exemplo, o fato de q em 90% das vezes q eu dou um bote no adversário, o juiz marca falta, sendo q a CPU nunca faz falta, msm quando ela dá o msm bote no meu jogador (as vezes, em uma dividida, o meu jogador cai q nem bosta no chão, enquanto q o da CPU só faz um movimento de tropeço, e no fim, o meu é q cometeu a falta kkkkkkk). Além disso, é impossível dar carrinho no nível normal (só no profissional), pois sempre será falta, e o mais curioso é q a chance de vc tomar cartão vermelho direto ao dar carrinho por trás é minúscula, quando na vida real qualquer juiz expulsa o jogador em uma situação dessa (mistura de arcade com simulador não dá certo, ou faz um jogo realista ou faz um arcade!)
    Outro detalhe minúsculo, mas q me deixou incomodado, é o fato de q mts vezes eu fui prejudicado por não ter controle sobre o jogador.
    Por exemplo, vamos supor q o adversário (CPU) afaste a bola com um chutão, e q ela esteja indo em direção a lateral. O meu jogador simplesmente vai correr como se não houvesse amanhã na tentativa de impedir a bola de sair, msm q seja óbvio q ele não vai conseguir, o infeliz corre igual condenado e eu não posso fazer nada. E isso é chato pelos seguintes motivos: em primeiro lugar, na maioria das vezes o jogador simplesmente vai dominar a bola pra frente, ou seja, ele vai dá um leve chute na bola, q vai sair pra lateral quando a msm já estava saindo de campo, sendo assim, o lateral vai para o time da CPU. Em segundo lugar, isso desgasta o jogador de forma desnecessária, eu já uso bastante da energia do jogador pra pressionar o time adversário e ainda sou obrigado a ver a CPU controlar ele pra impedir q a bola saia? Sério msm, pq? Por fim, eu só quero deixar claro q é notório q a Konami não sabe nada de futebol. Eu tbm não sou nenhum expert, mas sei o suficiente pra ver q esse jogo é uma bizarrice!    … Expand

    Everytime you play against strong teams the game automatically put them in advantage, with scary own goals, they winning every ball dispute, and your defensors become the most stupid ones as npc’s! Oh also you fowards loose goals that when you are playing weaker adversary’s, they never lose! KONAMI EVERYTHING WE WANT IS A FAIR GAME!

    It like a playing a guitar but the tunes and chords never come out as intended unless you paid for big dlc and constanty.

    I curse all of those responsible for this manipulative crowd pleasing shovelware.

    Bad programing algorithms, you can see, feel scripting... You never see this kind of differences betwen players in a real footbal game... I understand the better players have better abilites, but this isBad programing algorithms, you can see, feel scripting... The ability to protect the ball is unnatural, it is just to much ... you never see this kind of differences betwen players... even when division 3, 4 teams plays against Barcelona , Liverpool, Real Madrid in (copa del rey etc.) broadcast matches... Creating this kind of differences between the stats of players there will be no more skill gap between users when play agains a better team, and why play against others if ther is no more real competition ?!
    Another problem is the matchmaking in online divisions, i want to play against teams similiar to my teams stats- Online Seasons Matchmaking needs to be fixed....this is crazy,i play with a 3* star team against a 5* team, there is no competition , my players barely can touch the ball because the speed of the better players is insane.....    … Expand

    This is not a full game and while I appreciate the fact that they sell it at half cost, this is only a pro if you aren't coming from last year's PES 2020 - for all of us returning players we're essentially getting a kit pack (which is tiny considering that KONAMI have licenses for like 50 clubs), we lose the San Siro and we have to start over our Master League and MyClub. The price is great for newcomers but veteran players should have received this update at a much lower price.

    Overall a decent update, but it really doesn't feel like a solo product. More like a DLC at the price of an indie game.    … Expand

    probably the best football game for ps4. it is not perfect, i play it in star difficulty and it's enjoyable. i don't like option files to get the licenses, but i got used to the fake names, which doesn't matter when playing. i miss the champions league :( i don't like lighting in some stadiums. BALL PHYSICS OMG.

    Konami had an opportunity to take the lead in football game genre. Sadly they were more interested in manipulating and frustrating players for a quick buck (myclub). The engine is pretty good and when the game just let's you play (without the insane scripting/handicapping/momentum/whatever) it can be a lot of fun. I just can't bring myself to play it anymore. BUT could you Konami guys please explain that under influence of what or who you designed this ridiculous online system and why??? for the first time in years you were about to beat fifa in football gaming but somehow you spoiled everything.

    Let me explain for those who want to play this game with his friends:

    1) konami people has a sort of fetish and they are stuck with 3vs3. They love gangs I guess. In a game mod as simple as online co-op, you cannot call a friend (from a different device not on the same console) and play 2vs2. I mean who the hell plays 3vs3 could you explain that? 2) online co-op does not have a proper matching system so the server keeps continuously matching you two with 3 people, which makes the game chaotic and kills the fun.

    3) online co-op’s matching system is so so so so ridiculously bad that, let’s say you have picked a 3 star team, it matches you with 5 star pro team guys who has messi ronaldo gullit carlos etc in their teams. The worst part is taht you can not change that. There is NO OPTION letting you turn off this damn meaningless pro team matching off. I JUST WANNA PLAY WITH MY FRIEND AGAINST 2 NORMAL PEOPLE PLAYING WITH UP TO DATE, NORMAL, REALISTIC SQUADS. IS IT REALY THAT DIFFICULT KONAMI?
    IF I WANNA PLAY MYCLUB I PLAY MY CLUB!!!! RIGHT???

    4) online co op division system is so primitive that unlike fifa, you can’t simply invite a friend and collect points to aggregate to upper divisions. Matching system is so crap that your opponents are usually overpowered. Konami cant even do such a simple thing. The game’s online section is ridiculous and not fun at all.

    5) online settings are so restricted that you can’t have control on anything I mentioned above. Moreover, online system is unnecessary complicated so that it makes you so sick of it and let it go. In the sense of simplicity, it is also way behind fifa, im afraid. If you keep doing this you will lose your potential customers who are so sick of fifa.

    6) there is no referee in the game. If you are on one-on-one situation, and your opponent tackles you from the back, referee does three things: 1) no foul go on 2) foul no card 3) foul yellow card. This makes all matches like an amateur division football match. It is not limited to one on one situations, 70% of the fouls are ignored by the referee. The matches are like boxing. After buying this game, i kept telling my friends that it is amazing. One of them bought the game recently and after this online co op disaster, i told my other friends not to buy this game if they want to play online. I still cant believe how a company like konami makes these mistakes. It is unbelievable. It should not be that hard to build a decent online system. I repeat it is so simple that, as a customer who want to play with his friends against random players in a competitive division (like fifa does for years), against NORMAL teams similar to my team’s level -WITHOUT PRO CLUB CARD NONESENSE-, I am very very very disappointed. SHAME ON YOU KONAMI. This is not to say i am going to go back to play fifa crap but I will continuously tell people not to buy your game if they want to play simple online matches. Gamers are not cows to milk, and we are not as stupid as you might think we are, stop trying to make people buy your crappy cards. I bought your product, the end of the story. If you will not provide me a decent online experience, Without buying your cards, I will delete your game, never buy it again, tell people not to buy it, and keep saying this on every possible social media platform.

Отскоки мяча только в одну сторону, простейшие пасы не проходят, тупейший ИИ, когда мяч катится рядом с игроком, но он даже не бежит к нему. Задержка отклика при нажатии. Каждый подкат считай нарушение и желтая карточка. В общем японцы явно не знают что такое футбол. Из плюсовОнлайн режим отстой, судейство полный бред. При игре в мяч судья дает желтую карточку.     Не покупайте игру! Сохраните свои деньги, из года в гож становится хуже и хуже, онлайн мертвейший с самого старта, ИИ максимально подкруенный, скриптов тут стало больше чем в фифе.

    Ну что тут можно сказать, игра не становится лучше из года в год... раздражающий ИИ, из-за тупейших ошибок которого невозможно нормально играть, переходит из игры в игру... В общем, я не могу больше в это играть...

Lagging, cheats, connection issue, unfair rate given per game, but the most annoying it's definitely the slow response when playing you could be 1000 ranking, if the server it's full you can lose badly Vs anyone even 2-300 rating with no skills or ability.     It's a great football experience. Very authentic. Don't listen to these foolish opinions from the fifa clowns giving it bad score, they're still under the spell of EA garbage fifa. They will mislead you. Gameplay, animations, ball physics. The realism is fantastic. Gameplay is far far better than fifa.

    Absolutely horrible. Atleast 200ms ping in every game. Clunky gameplay. Collisions. Every goal comes from a mistake that comes from the delay. Finishing is horrible. In myclub they give out 1500 coins for a campaign and when playing match day you receive 50 for the highest rank. What’s the point of even playing this game again?

The players often bump into each other and fall down thus losing the ball which is a joke.As for the MyTeam - there is literally nothing to do there, a few challenges and thats it. And in addition to that when you start the mode it only takes around 10-15 games to have Messi, Ronaldo and all of the cool players because they are giving them for free. There is no incentive to play the mode when you have all the best players but dont have any challenges or tournaments to enjoy the mode. To me, this looks as if it is a PES 2008 back in PSP which i really enjoyed, but this is 2021, which means it only deteriorated in that time. I have to admit - i am really happy that they make this as a Lite versinio on December so i do not have to waste money on such a bad football game. The key thing for me with PES is you can hit those driven long passes with back spin that you see the pros hit and just drift a ball into a runners path like a Scholes or Gerrard would, you can play passes that you simply cannot do in FIFA.     The gameplay experience is ruined by the scripted matches. Anyone playing for the long run will experience frustration on not being able to control their own teams, as the game forces momentum shifts and the AI screws everything. Shame, would be an awsome game otherwise..

    4) The player switching is very iffy, certainly on the default settings. Sometimes the player icon just seems to lock, meaning another one of your players near the ball will just leave it and ignore it.

    5) Long-range shooting is exceptionally difficult especially when the AI builds up players near the goal (which seems to be its default defensive setting). You will hit an AI player much more often than not.

    6) Your team's off-ball movement is shaky, players often just don't try to run in behind the defence and when they do, they can't time it so they end up offside a lot. Very annoying.    … Expand

    Overall having a season update to the 2020 version of PES was a great move. It has kept the winning formula of the previous game and just expanded on it with player updates and roster updates. Something that football fans have been asking for for years.

    To be honest, I really enjoy it and because the developers are trying to create something from the scratch with PES 2022 in Unreal Engine 5, I think they need more understanding and support.
    At least they are honest and not trying to sell the same game like EA for a full price game.

    Edit mode stayed exactly the same so you can use same kit templet as last year to do updated version of the kits and logos.
    MyClub is getting a boost in younger version of important players from their most significant moments kind of like special player cards Fifa’s Ultimate team does but other than this it is same thing.
    So are you going to enjoy this largely expects from your expectations if you expecting new mods or features you will be disappointed but if you take it just like an update for the same game you already have in PES 2020 you will be fine.
    I do appreciate them being transparent in calling it what it is a Season update compare to EA whose game has been season update for past 3 years but they still try to sell it as new game.

    Crucial problems of the game (also decisive):

    - Speed of the players is completely unrealistic. It throws all the gameplay out of the balance. It destroys the creativity and force most of the gamers into playing ping pong. Simply because they do not have any time to think before the opposition player destroys their legs.
    - Again this year ping pong. Ping pong. Ping pong. If you do not play ping pong, you lose. So simple. And why not? You just have to keep the pass button all the time down and you can expect flawless and precise passes until the opposite goal. Even two players between, can not disrupt them. So FRUSTRATING. Gameplay killer.
    - All kind of player’s contacts in general. When I first saw It, I could not believe my eyes. 90 % of all the contacts including “tackling” are actually fouls. Sometimes is so bad that just blood is missing. It looks more like street fighter. Common guys, we deserve better. There is also one special subcategory called the “retackling”. Defensive player successfully tackles the offensive player, but the offensive player immediately tackles back and scores. It is very often game situation and decision maker which NEVER happens in reality.

    Less decisive flaws:

    - The scoring rate from the distance is higher than from “alone against the keeper” situations.
    - No need to call the foul when our own team is in the possession.
    - When attacking my attacking co-fellow suddenly stops.

    Suggestion: introduce error rate. Every player, even the best can make errors (passing, shooting...).    … Expand

    First of all, it's a season update so if you own PES 2020, stick to it.     The "update" itself is a joke. Most teams and leagues have not been updated at all. Certainly if you play a smaller league team, the roster will be unchanged from the starting roster of PES2020. I understood this will be patched at some point but what is the use of launching an update if the update has not been done? There are no cosmetic changes worth mentioning compared to the 2020 version.

    Most game modes are unchanged and remain as unsupported as they have been for years.
    My club is more or less the only mode that receives attention.

    The my club gameplay however is held back by the total lack of defensive AI and heavy scripted gameplay. A lot of players just spam lofted through balls from deep - hope you get Beckham from the Legends - and often these simple over the top balls will create a one on one with the keeper as your defender sometimes turns into a dummy doll that trips or just decides he will run in the opposite direction the attacker is running. I've played over 100 online games since launch and I think 90 of them started a kickoff passing back to long pass specialist that then kicked the ball with a long through ball hoping AI would grant him a goal.

    Switching players also often results in the newly controlled player to react like somebody who just woke up and doesn't realise he was in a football match doing things like stopping mid-run, take a step in the wrong direction creating space for your opponent,...

    And what I find very disappointing, as this has been great in the past, is the individual feel of players. Some players with high acceleration scores feel sluggish. Strong players sometimes feel weak.

    Just to be clear. I'm a fan of the series and FIFA has dropped the ball so bad over the last few years so this is most likely still the best option if you want to play a game of football. But if that's what you're after, stick to PES2020 or pick up the free version that will no doubt release around the start of the year. Maybe future patches will improve the game but at this point, this feels like a half-finished game and KONAMI grabbing some money from what is left of their fanbase.    … Expand

    I am a huge fan of PES and I just feel like this year's game just doesn't have any longevity to it. I've had it since release and I'm so over it already. Not worth buying if you have PES 20, I'm the most disappointed with the sad attempt of a game that Konami released this year.

    One of the worst series of PES. Even worse than last year. I'm not sure why they ruined all the good things that existed in PES19. Really disappointed with this game.

The offline gameplay is what Pes 20 should have been so you're getting robbed there too. The online game is an absolute shambles, it's very slow and irresponsive.… Expand

At least Konami had the audacity to offer 20% discount on this game to those who had the PES 2020 eFootball. two Milan clubs, Internazionale and AC Milan, including their stadiums, and partnered with AS Roma, in which the Stadio Olimpico was included in the lot.

    Liga NOS is still present in the PES series, although Nacional da Madeira (Madeira BP) is the only Portuguese team that is not licensed. Despite having moved down the division, clubs like CD Aves and V. Setúbal are present in this 2021 version. UEFA Euro 2020, which was supposed to have been in the PES 2020 eFootball, ended up in this PES 2021 Season Update eFootball. European teams are fully licensed. Also as a novelty, we have the inclusion of new stadiums such as Wembley Stadium, Gazprom Arena of Zenit and Arena do Grêmio, in addition to the already mentioned Stadio Olimpico of AS Roma.

    About the gameplay itself, yes, it is the same as the eFootball PES 2020 with some corrections and adjustments here and there, as it seems to me in the case of the first touches. And yes, I still enjoy the gameplay of eFootball, despite my frustrations (mostly my fault) that I have had at games. In my opinion, it remains smooth and fast. AI hasn't changed at all compared to the 2020 version. Regarding the Master League, despite being the same mode as always, we have more options in choosing the coach, as is the case with Josep Guardiola, Ryan Giggs and Frank Lampard.

    And of course we have the way in which we have to turn our player (original or not) into an ace. I refer to Become a Legend. It also remains the same as the version 2020. myclub, the mode most used by users today, also suffers from it. It's easy to build a great team without even going to the myClub store and buying coins.

    In the case of connection issues, I have no reason to complain and I had no problems when I played against Portuguese or Spaniards. Just put “Require Stable Connection” in the network connection restrictions. As always, Konami kept the usual Portuguese commentators Pedro Sousa and Luís Freitas Lobo, and it goes without saying that they are extremely repetitive and in the case of Luís Freitas Lobo it is terrible because it is noted that he is reading the paper. The same can be applied to comments in English; they are uninspired and quickly become repetitive.

    And this is it. As you can see, there are no relevant news beyond the licenses compared to last year's edition. Now for the most serious question. Is this PES 2021 Season Update eFootball worth buying? It is a difficult question to answer, especially for those who have already had eFootball PES 2020. I apologize to all readers for having always been using the word “same”, but there is no other way to describe it, although they were honest with the title of the game, and applied a discount to those who had the 2020 version. For those who never had the 2020 version, it is undoubtedly a recommended football game, but for those who have and had enough of playing it if more complicated to recommend.

    I cant believe theyve managed to make the gameplay worse than before. Yes it may be an improvement on the abomination of the latter data packs but its still not as good as previous iterations of the Pes series.

    Massive disappointment to return to the smaller clubs turninginto barcelona in the 85th minute to get their 1st shot on hoal and usually to win tbe game. Pad smashingly frustrating    I cant believe theyve managed to make the gameplay worse than before. Yes it may be an improvement on the abomination of the latter data packs but its still not as good as previous iterations of the Pes series.

    It may just be a season update for pes 20, but it's still an even more improved version and game play seems more fluid and a.i. is improved. Keep up the great work Konami, Pes is much Better than fifa at this point and with the option files installed pes has all the clubs which I love. Thanks Konami. And thanks pes Univers.

    The word ''update'' perfectly describes not only this edition of the game but probably the last five titles in a row. Then again, PES remains to be a good, license lacking simulation. The price is fair but the wait is real, as we are already looking forward to the new installment that will shake things up a bit, after a long wait.
