    Where I think some complaints come from are from how the game changes about halfway in. What starts out as a survival horror game where resources are scarce, weapons are weak, and where you are likely to die if you encounter even 4 or more zombies, let alone a speciality one, later becomes a more fast paced zombie stomp romp that's fun to play with your friends, allowing you to quickly dispatch zombies with ease.

    Some people came for the survival, some for the romp, the fact is you get both, and that's a good thing. I have no idea why people don't like the genre mesh, if I am paying this much for a game and it had better give me as much as Dying Light has.    … Expand

    I thought it'd suck for sure due to the fact that no critics could even review it until, basically, launch day, and due to the fact that it was made by the same peeps that made the sluggish, boring, tedious Dead Island series.

    This is a TRUE zombie game. A true survival game. Just when I thought nobody could make a fresh take on the genre, I'm blown away by this masterpiece. How smart were they. They stuck the finger to all the negative nancy's out there by creating a game very much worthy of having awesome reviews released a month early, but holding it back and letting the public form their own opinion before it gets tainted by professional critics paid to give good scores or bad scores.

    Play the game without reading a professional review and you'll be pleasantly reminded what a true video game is all about. This is the birth of a new franchise, re-imaging of the survival horror genre, married with slick action adventure with RPG elements. I don't know how long this game is, but it keeps upping the the fun around every corner that I pray that it goes on for 100 hours (At least). TOTALLY worth the price!
    This is a gamers dream. I can't wait for the sequel.... and I haven't played all the way through! This is the first game that I've reviewed without completing it all the way yet. That's saying something.

    I love being wrong in times like this and I love taking a risk and having it pay off. Seriously WB and interactive, crowd fund the next one and let's get it rolling.    … Expand

    I love you this game. It's really beauty and amazing experience. I'm playing story mode co-op with my friends. while in the Night in the game to be us nightmare.

    I don't understand the hate for this game. It may not look as good as the FarCry series, but at least DL's open world is not littered with boring empty lands. Every place you run or climb doesn't feel repetitive, despite its similarly themed design (rusty shacks, zinc tops, etc.).

    The quests are pretty standard for a game in this genre (run, fetch, deliver) and some of the side quests    I don't understand the hate for this game.     The quests are pretty standard for a game in this genre (run, fetch, deliver) and some of the side quests are annoying (to save Nick Pesto you have to follow him to get his lady magazine and his skull ring? LOL) but that's where it doesn't get repetitive.

    The mechanics are very easy to grasp, kinda like Mirror's Edge. The combat can be challenging and the enemy AI is pretty efficient; zombies and humans alike.

    The unique selling point of this game; day and light cycles where super zombies come out to prey at night, isn't just a gimmick. You can skip the night, ONLY if you have access to a safe house when night comes. Sometimes though, you get so engrossed with the quests, that you mentally ignore the Tower's reminders on the comms and only start to panic when your watch beeps, indicating that it's time to haul ass. If you find yourself far away from any safe house, then well, Good Night...and Good Luck.

    Coop mode heightens the thrills and suspense, and c'mon...it's just plain fun to bash zombies with friends!

    As a Dead Island fan, obviousy it is not a surprise that I love this game. I spent many hours already with Dying Light not only doing thle story/side missons, but just running around exploring the city and having tons of fun with parkour and zombies killing. The visuals are superb and this is one of the best looking PS4 games up to date. Controls feel smooth, you have a mix ofAs a Dead Island fan, obviousy it is not a surprise that I love this game. I was reading reviews about people saying the movement isn't as fluent like climbing walls and free running, but if you look they wrote their reviews on day one. unless you have been playing since its midnight release till the time they wrote their reviews then i can bet they didn't build up their skill tree. onceI love this game the story is pretty awesome, and the night is so intense. I'm having a hard time surviving because you need metal parts to repair weapons and all mine are all broken. I'm not saying its hard to repair them but I have been having such an amazing time running and ducking from zombies, I haven't had time to find stuff to repair my weapons. Excellent game highly recommended. 4 of my friends from work got it and we have been having such a fun time on multiplayer. At night everyone is yelling cussing and laughing running from mutated zombies, haven't had this much fun playing multiplayer in forever.… Expand

    Great game! Has everything you could want. Give it a little bit to get use to controls, but they are rather easy to adapt to and killing a zombie gets much easier as you go. Best zombie game ever! Better than FC4 and DI. Buy it!

    Get the game, it is very fun to play. The graphics, sound immersion, controls, crafting.... I could go on forever on how everything fits together so nicely.

    o jogo está incrivel demais, a ambientação o clima de seriedade total da historia, tudo esta absolutamente perfeito, o mais legal é quando tu ataca um zumbi e tu tem nitidamente aquele sentimento de que o zumbi esta sentindo o golpe, tu sente o golpe quando bate

    - multiplayer sensacional, coop desde o começo apos o prologo, é so deixar ativado o coop que sempre entra gente , e o modo zumbi pode deixar ativado pra outros jogadores entrar no seu jogo, ou pode jogar sozinho sem ninguem te encher ai vai a gosto do freguês.
    - são tantas qualidades nesse jogo, diria que esse é o jogo que a muito procurava de zumbis, o sistema de combate é muito show enquanto em outros jogos os inimigos tu ataca e sao uns pedaços de madeira aqui no dying light o inimigo sente o golpe é so jogando pra entender é muito show.

    - a dublagem esta muito mais muito boa mesmo, fizeram um otimo trabalho parabens a warner e techland.
    - o som do jogo esta muito show.

    - quem tiver em duvidas pode comprar, esse jogo merece ser comparado.

    this game is so amazing, very good gameplay, good combat, great graphic, parkour is amazing that remind me of Mirror Edge. dialogue and sound are very good.. this game is definitely better than dead island. i recommend this game for fans

Here every side quest has its cinematics, real story, even small go and fetch side quests are interesting and you want to do them, like getting the glasses and a gardening book for some dude... and they are narrated, you don't have to read pages of boring texts. The parkouring makes it even more fun, moving around, getting into the rythm of jumping from roof to roof, is satisfying.

    The two maps in this game (large scale and linked) are some of the most beautifully crafted, detailed, STUNNING maps I have ever seen. They infuse elements of Moroccan, South American architecture, a stunning walled city surrounding by gorgeous cascading    Honestly, I am BLOWN away by this game. I wasn't even sure if I was going to buy it having read reviews of Dead Island but WOW.

    The two maps in this game (large scale and linked) are some of the most beautifully crafted, detailed, STUNNING maps I have ever seen.

    They infuse elements of Moroccan, South American architecture, a stunning walled city surrounding by gorgeous cascading cliffs and a fantastic beach. Heck there are even ruined Roman aqueducts, it's insane!!! So many small details.

    And the fact that you can now traverse the high rise roof tops is incredible. It's also filled with TONS of loot, eye candy, zombie hordes and beautiful indoor environments.

    What I LOVE:
    Story is engaging and cleverly written (cliched enough to not take itself too seriously)

    Mechanics are smooth as butter, free-running is astonishingly well built and easy. The melee combat is intense and satisfying.

    The sound design and voice-overs are TOP notch. The music is fantastic, a play on the films of the 80's Zombie revolution in the likes of Romaro. The zombie sounds and shrieks are bone chilling; especially at night!

    Lot of satisfying secondary missions very finely crafted to augment the main missions; the story always makes sense and always further develops the characters.

    Fantastic Coop and PVP (Zombie mode) mechanics.

    Fantastic atmosphere! Doesn't take itself too seriously but is also dark enough to make it tense and gritty.

    Runs great on PS4, occasional frame drops but I rarely notice it enough to care. Would have obviously been nice at 60fps, but even PC is having trouble apparently.

    Like Far Cry 4 with zombies. Gameplay so good. Great graphics. If you decide hang out overnight can be your worst nightmare. A pure zombie game and survival on its best and to the point. No middleground.

    I enjoy it alot! Ignore the multiplayer & the graphics. I enjoyed the Parkour alot, & it's kicking like I've never seen before. It might be challenging when night comes, & scares you. But, you got a lots of fun in Dying Light.

    The zombie types are varied with different strengths and weakness and definitely add a new element of danger. One zombie is a fair challenge but a group of zombies is very difficult to fight off, even with abilities leveled up! The night time is really dark and really dangerous and adds a real element of suspense especially against special infected enemies.

    There are Safe Zones scattered throughout the city that are lit up with UV lighting (Some special infected are sensitive to UV lighting). Some of the Safe Zones require you to secure them first by defeating the undead population and turning on power breakers to restore lighting. Finding them at night is not that hard as they are well lit but getting to them without getting spotted by a particulary dangerous special infected called a Volatile or getting attacked by a group of zombies in the dark can be really difficult.

    Leveling up is similar to Dead Island where you have 3 skill trees to level up your character. Weapon variety is much more expanded this time to include Resident evil style weapon mods like freeze grenades & flame grenades. Speaking of Resident Evil, Roger Craig Smith who voices Chris Redfield in the Resident Evil games also does a great job voicing the main character of Dying Light Kyle Crane. While the lip syncing is not perfect in Dying Light, it's also not that bad and the voice acting is well done for all of the supporting cast in Dying Light.

    You just can't go wrong with this title. If you love zombie games you will love this. If you loved FarCry 3, Mirrors Edge, Fallout 3, Dead Island and The Last of Us then you will love this game. Its as though they have taken the best elements of various games and put them into this game.

    Just Cause 2 and Rocksteady's Batman titles use a grappling hook mechanic. Dying Light also uses a grappling hook mechanic and it works really well. There is a crafting system similar to The Last of Us and Techland has done away with finding work benches. As long as you have the schematic, parts and/or ingredients you can craft anything on the fly.

    It is clear that the team at Techland put a lot of work into this game and it shows. The game truly is a must own game.

    I picked up this game with little expectation - however, I was BLOWN AWAY. I truly loved every tense minute of this game and was very disappointed when the final credits ran. Perhaps my game of the year 2015. AWESOME!

    Geniales Gameplay, habe gestern 3 std. gezockt und bin total begeistert. Freu mich gleich weiter zocken zu können. Story hat mir sehr gefallen, Steuerung ist genial. Fühlt sich super flüssig an. Der Unterschied zwischen Tag und Nacht ist genial.

    Last of Us, Mirrors Edge and Fallout blended to perfection! Best game of this generation so far, can't believe how fun and fresh the whole thing feels. I was not a fan of Dead Islands, but this is something far more deep and entertaining.

    Fantastic game. Amazing graphics and smooth gameplay. Good characters and story as well. Its nice to see a next gen game that takes advantage of the power of these systems WITHOUT all the glitches.

    From a dead rising fan, this game is the best zombie game I've ever played. I liked the rpg elements and the level up system and the graphics on my nvidia with special lighting effects associated with my nvidia gpu is perfect

The world is huge, and it is packed with stuff which makes it truly feel like a real world, with stores, cafes, hospitals, warehouses which all can be visited and looted. The story is a bit silly sometimes, but it still is well executed with cutscenes blending into the gameThis game is the perfect mix of Mirror's Edge and Dead Island. For me, loving those games, this is perfect. The world is huge, and it is packed with stuff which makes it truly feel like a real world, with stores, cafes, hospitals, warehouses which all can be visited and looted. The story is a bit silly sometimes, but it still is well executed with cutscenes blending into the game perfectly. The story might not be super serious, but it still always push you forward in a fast pace, where you always feel like you want to know what was going to happen next. To give you an example (no spoilers, this is not the real story) you go on a mission, the mission ends with someone getting kidnapped. In the next mission you save the person after getting caught, tortured and having to escape through various dramatic scenes., And then the mission ends with a terrorist group placing a bomb in your base. You gotta save them before it's too late, everyone is screaming for you in the radio. RUN! The game always put up these cliffhangers so that you want to push forward in a fast pace. And I love it. Sure, the game can become a bit repetive after some time. But for someone like me, that only want to visit a realistic big city, which feels both living (no pun intended) and real, this it the perfect game. You can play it how you want, and create your own story. This is a perfect sandbox game, and I can't stop playing it.… Expand

Denn sobald man in den auf der Minimap erkennbaren Sichtkegel der Super-Zombies gerät starten diese eine unerbittliche Verfolgungsjagd bis man entweder sich in einer mit UV-Scheinwerfern gesicherten Safe-Zone versteckt oder bis die Viecher einen durch geschickte Parkoureinlagen aus den Augen verlieren. Später als erfahrener/hochgelevelten Spieler kann man sich auch gerne mit den Schattenjägern anlegen indem man sie mit der UV-Lampe etwas "anbruzzelt" und dann sofort mit starken Waffen bearbeitet bis sie schließlich irgendwann zu Boden gehen und einem eine gehörige Portion EP und $ hinterlassen.
    Neben der durchweg gut unterhaltenden Haupt-Story gibt es allerlei größtenteils toll gestaltete Nebenquests die dafür sorgen dass einem die Arbeit nicht so schnell ausgeht. Hinzu kommen einige Quarantäne Zonen in den es immer bestimmte Aufgaben zu erledigen gilt die einem genau wie die zufallsgenerierten Kistenabwürfe aus einem Flugzeug, Surivor-Punkte bescheren.
    Der Surivor Skilltree sorgt unter anderem dafür, dass einem wie der Name es schon vermuten lässt, das Überleben erleichtert wird.
    Z.B. indem man Rang für Rang immer bessere Waffen kaufen/finden kann oder es lassen sich sämtliche verschlossene Truhen, Krankenwägen, Polizeibusse etc. immer leichter mit Dietrichen knacken etc.
    Der zweite Skilltree bezieht sich auf die Parkour-Tricks die man nach und nach freischaltet wie z.B. das laufen über die Zombieköpfe oder es lässt sich die allgemeine Ausdauer, das Klettertempo usw. steigern.
    Zu guter letzt gibt es den Power-Skilltree der es einem ermöglicht nach und nach immer stärker werdende Angriffsmöglichkeiten freizuschalten.
    Zwar ist es Nachts vor allem in den ersten Spielstunden extrem gefährlich allerdings hat die Nacht einen besonderen Clou... es gibt sowohl für jede Parkour- und Kampfeinlage doppelte EP! Somit lohnt es sich auf jeden Fall ab und zu Nachts in Harran umher zu flitzen.

    Zwar ist es in den ersten Spielstunden etwas nervig dass die mit sich geführten Waffen sehr schnell den Geist aufgeben und ständig repariert werden müssen, jedoch werden die Waffen wie bereits erwähnt nach und nach immer besser und "haltbarer" vor allem wenn man sein Prügel mit einem der überall in der Welt verstreuten Blaupausen aufmotzt sprich mit z.B. Elementarfähigkeiten wie Feuer oder aber auch Säure, Strom etc. verseht.
    Außerdem kann man je nach Waffe auf unterschiedlich viele, frei zu Verfügung stehenden Waffenmodifikations-slots mit gefundenen/geschenkten "waffenattribut" steigernden Verbesserungen versehen.
    Z.b. Man hat einen Baseballschläger der bereits mit einer "Feuer-Blaupause" versehen ist und somit nicht nur mehr sondern auch noch Feuerschaden anrichten kann...hinzu kommen die eben genannten Waffenmodifikations-slots...sagen wir es ist ein blauer(seltener) Baseballschläger der Platz für 3 dieser Modifikationen hat. Angenommen man hat 3 verschiedene in petto kann man z.b auf den ersten slot eine modifikation anbringen die die Haltbarkeit der Waffe um einige Punkte erhöht, der zweite Slot wird mit einer Verbesserung versehen die das Handling erhöht usw. ...das tolle daran....jede "Veränderung" ist im Spiel sichtbar und fühlbar!
    Zum Beispiel ist der Baseballschläger nachdem man den ersten Slot mit einer Haltbarkeitssteigerung versehen hat von einer Art Metallgestänge umgeben.
    Neben den sehr unterschiedlichen Waffen, wie z.B. Schraubenschlüssel, Rohrzange, Axt, Machete, Schwert und allerlei verschiedenen "Bleispritzen" (um nur ein paar zu nennen), lassen sich aus vielen verschiedenen, gefundenen Materialien unterschiedlich nützliche Dinge craften wie z.B. äußerst effektive Molotows, Böller, Dietriche etc. etc. ...

    Grafisch und Sound-technisch ist Dying Light meiner Meinung nach Tip-Top! Tolle Licht-, Wasser-. Feuer-, Raucheffekte etc. scharfe Texturen zwar relativ wenige, unterschiedliche aber dennoch schön gestalteten Charaktermodelle.
    Untermalt von einem atmosphärischen Soundtrack der glatt aus einem alten 80erJahre Schinken a la "Die Klapperschlange" und co stammen könnte. Zudem sind die Sounds die die Zombies von sich geben aller erste Sahne.
    Zu guter Letzt ist der Sound gepaart mit äußerst atmosphärischen Umgebungsgeräuschen die unter anderem dazu beitragen dass man die Atmosphäre des Spiels schon fast schneiden kann.

    I've been playing for a few hours now and I love it. Co-op story was a huge selling point for me. I enjoy single play campaigns a lot more when I'm able to play with friends.

    This is a sweet game, fully met and exceeded my expectations. If you liked Fallout, you will love Dying Light. If you like killing zombies with a lot of blood and gore, you will love Dying Light. Not sure why the critics scored this one so long.. i've put 20+ hours into this game and only at about 15% of the story. Side quests are a lot of fun and and exploring/killing the zombies is great.

    Also, the parkour is super smooth. You can jump for certain walls and even if you are an inch short, the game will give you the benefit of the doubt and let you pull yourself up... away from the zombies scratching at your feet.

    The story is definitely a big part of the game. Way more story than I expected. There were even times at the beginning where I felt like the story development was holding me back from bashing in zombie brains with a steel pipe, which is why I bought the game.

    The music and sound effects are awesome, and the graphics are incredible. I find these visuals unbelievable. Also, the map is so big that I know it'll take me at least another 10-15 hours of game-play before I have any sense of direction.

    All-in-all, awesome game. It was even sold out at the first two stores I went to, and I didn't even know that was possible nowadays.    … Expand

    This game is amazing. When you start off you might feel like the parkour is not very smooth or good. But in reality the game is meant to be like that. As you play more you actually get better at parkour your self. As you also gain more xp you can unlock things even like wall run. This game's perk system is awesome and very rewarding.

Still, there is so much freedom in this game that it actually adds to the fear, especially at night. The beginning is a bit odd getting used to but once you do, the game runs wicked smooth. Traversing the environment in such cool ways is fantastic. I've only played about 7Wow. This game is the best game I've ever played on the PS4 second only to Alien: Isolation (I'm a huge Alien fan). This game accomplished everything it set out to. And if you're wondering how big of a difference day time and night actually are in the game, nighttime can be quite terrifying. The first encounter specifically is an experience in and of itself. And if you want to avoid the city at night, you can even choose to sleep until morning back at the safe zone. They could have gone just a bit easier on the film grain but it doesn't bother me much at at all and after playing for a bit I totally forgot it was there. Very detailed skills and upgrades. The graphics and visuals are top notch and the best ive seen on the PS4 since Killzone. i do enjoy playing day at the moment rather than night but im sure that will change as i level up more and more serious weaponry. The traversal system takes a small amount of time to get used to with the allocated buttons, but once learnt is easy to master. I do miss vehicles somewhat but really that will take away the purpose of the game.Combat is satisfying , the booby traps you can let off to exterminate nearby zombies are great fun. After many hours things get even better. i do not want to ruin any surprise so seriously, experience it yourself. One spoiler i can give is a grappling hook that makes traversal even more fun. Do not listen to the trolls giving this AA tile bad reviews. If you like zombie games at all. Then get this. if you dont like zombies try it anyway. 9/10 upgraded due to pathetic reviews by people who havent even tried it    … Expand

    Put about 4 hours into Dying Light yesterday. Great game. Have to say if you own a new gen system its a must. Graphics are great and the gameplay is smooth. The storyline is definitely enough to keep you interested. I preordered it back when it was originally suppose to launch and waited forever for it. Im glad I did cause its one game where its seems they put some time into. 10/10 for me.

The game is beautiful from the environment to the expansive map to the weapon and crafting selection and the parkour running system was amazing. This game got me instantly hooked.     When I played the latter I didn't quite enjoy how goofy it felt most of the time. So although they have similarities in their function, the tones present are entirely dissimilar, and that's why I'm enjoying Dying Light to a much higher extent.
    I purchased the game day one and have been playing for a few hours each day. One long thing to note before I continue, and avoid if you're playing, is directly quitting the game after sleeping in a safehouse to make it either day or night. I did this because of the lack of a manual save function and didn't know how much progress I would lose or rather, when or what triggered autosaving. As it appears, a characters skills and the story are saved separately, so to my dismay the next day when I booted up the game, I retained my story progression but lost all of my items, blueprints and skill points. Only in that instance and from doing what I mentioned above specifically, did I experience the glitch.

    Now, you can always build up your skill points again (which I did) from engaging in the games brilliant parkour system and the Dead Island-esque combat. You can't however, regain a medkit blueprint in order to heal yourself as it's a tutorial acquired item (Gauze and Alcohol). My temporary fix for this, until a patch is released, was getting another medkit blueprint using different materials, specifically herbs. But I come by those a LOT less frequently.
    Speaking of which, gathering the resources in the zombie-infested slums of Harran is quite gratifying, along with the added challenge that you are always (generally) in danger. There's been many a time of tossing and tossing fire crackers in order to shift the attention of the undead away from a welcoming air package. That is until you acquire the camo ability, effectively letting you rub the zombo gunk all over yourself from a dead zombie and blending in with the crowd (Walking Dead eat your heart out).

    With Harran in mind, I've read about two reviews mentioning the games map-size and that it's average. Now obviously there's some serious lack of progression in the game to announce such a thing. The slums are quite large, they do blend in after awhile and it begins to feel like you know the place as well as your own home. What they fail to mention is Sector 0, or Old Town. This is a different section in the game and a different map entirely (albeit smaller). I won't spoil it's aesthetics but I was in such awe of seeing this brand new area to explore. I wished the map was bigger and they chose the slums to be the smaller of the two. That being said it is still a big and beautiful map.

    Despite very minor hitches and peoples suspicions about late review codes and what state the game must have been in, I have only experienced the one glitch that I mentioned earlier. Which is a lot less than I did playing AC: Unity.

    My advice would be to pick up this fabulous title and give Techland your support. A lot of the bad I've read is simply that it is not 100% original, but rather a mesh of various popular mechanics, which is honestly not many. The main one that hits everyones minds is Mirrors Edge parkour. But I simply fail to see how you could possibly have made it any differently. It's a man jumping and hoisting himself up on buildings. There's not a lot of room for variation. If you're not a picky critic, and aren't expecting a Telltale plot in the ways of the games story, I can guarantee you'll have a lot of fun playing Dying Light.    … Expand

    to be honest I have never played a zombie game before so I decided to give dying light a try. and wow so far im loving this game! I like so much about it so far like crafting it kind of reminds me a lot of how the last of us has that. so far based on what bit I played its a must own game and the graphics are pretty sickkkkk. You have to work carefully for your progress while being careful of the masses of zombies around at all times - great survival element.
    Love the colours - more realistic than most games (including Dead Island and even GTA V), the setting and the colour palette might remind you of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - and this is huge compliment.
    The horror comes at night, when you become the prey and vicious zombies will chase you in the dark - and this is how nights in videos games should be (unlike the well lit ones on Rockstar's and Bethesda's games).
    Bottom line - fun to play, intriguing main story, tons of good side quests, great visuals and fitting music. Pretty much better than anything that came out in 2014.    … Expand

    This game has definitely been one of my top games I have yet played on the PS4. Graphics are amazing and the over all gameplay is probably some of the best to date. I am keeping fingers crossed there is a sequel....

    Amazing game. It's easy to think you've only been playing for 30 minutes when actually 3 hours have passed. Love it. I enjoy looting and the random events that pop up throughout the game. The missions are exciting because they are always a challenge and zombies can easily surround you when you least expect it. Definitely worth the buy.

    Dying Light is one of the best PS4 games this year in my opinion. I have played over 2 days in total already and I absolutely love it. The graphics are absolutely amazing, the combat is so brutal which is awesome, and the parkour is unbelievable. The controls could be hard to get use to, but once you do, they will be really easy.     I have been playing COOP for a first time in a looong while with a good friend and what a blast, every aspect of single player coop are done RIGHT in this game, other developers should definetly take notice.
    We still have a lot to do in Dying Light, the game is just HUGE. Value for money dudes.

    I personally don't get all the negative reviews this games has gotten from the so called "critics".
    It's a blast to play solo, it's tremendous fun playing with friends.

    The best game before this I had was metro last light and it seams that game had a love child with mirror's edge and was inspired by dead island and I have to say the first time in forever I bin scared of zombies even at day time and a game that can keep you going for 12-20 hours I would even get this game for $100 and still say money well spent.

    You will so get your money's worth with this game. Hours and hours of gameplay. Also, I rarely start a game and think, man, I want to go back through this again. The controls take a minute to get used to, but when you do, you'll be flying around the city and slaughtering zombies in the process. I actually have been using a SCUF gaming controller for years and I have one for my xbox 360/One and for my ps4, so i was pretty bummed about the jump button placement because you spend so much money on a bada$$ controller but can't really use it. But that's the thing, with the way they mapped the controls, there is no better way to do it. But yeah the controls are perfect for the style of game.

    The graphics are great, especially for the scale of the game. I won't ruin it for you, but if you like to kill some zombies, this game is for you. I am actually more into the rpg leveling elements myself.

    That being said, the progression element of the game I feel is great. Again, I don't want to ruin anything for anyone that's why I'm being kind of vague. Let's put it this way. You will need to get better and better as the game goes on to survive in the city.

    The story is pretty solid. I would say that the focus of what you're supposed to be enjoying in this game is there

    So everyone who is thinking about buying this game, or is on the fence about it.........GO BUY IT!!!

    40 hours playing. Just the best game I've played for a few months... (years ???). Just make me want to spend a night walking and climbing in the streets of this town. Graphics are awesome, sound too ! Quite scaring at some moments.... Well, wish all games brought me that kind of feelings. 40 hours playing and still the same pleasure !!!!     Finally got the disc copy. Been looking forward to this game for a long time, I did have some doubts but all in all very excited to play it. Got it on Friday and haven't stopped playing since, very addictive. The graphics are amazing, the gore and some of the effects when killing the zombie is just awesome. The story is good so far.     The day/night system is very fun. Night it pretty terrifying when you get ambushed by a group of zombies and being chased after and making it to a safe point is a blast. Within this system there is plenty to do from getting drops around the city, side missions for both day and night, and varying how the zombies react to the player based on the time of day.

    Another awesome part of this game is the multiplayer. I usually coop with some of my friends and run around the city and just have a good time. I love the option to start challenges among friends from slaying the most enemies, collecting the most loot, or getting to a waypoint the fastest. The fact that two people can be cross map doing two different things is a great feature in this game. Watching other players use there customized weapons to mow down the horde is often fun and funny to watch. Also the Be A Zombie mode is a different and fun change of pace, but not as a blast as the coop (IMO).

    I love the customization of the weapons. Adding mods and upgrades to any weapons are cool and really show when taking down enemies. I was a huge fan of this in Dead Island and I'm glad that the system to as, if not more, enjoyable in Dying Light.

    This is game is great and I love playing it for hours, just taking down zombies, doing side missions, or playing the story. The story isn't the greatest in video game history, but the missions of the story are extremely fun and you have to make a plan sometimes is a good element that keeps the game fast-paced.    … Expand

    Then February came and i needed a game to play with a buddy and Dying Light offered Coop, so we bought the game, hoping it would be any good.

    Then February came and i needed a game to play with a buddy and Dying Light offered Coop, so we bought the game, hoping it would be any good.
    The last Game we bought wishing for a good coop experience was Destiny (while we both got to Level 28/29 eventually, we didn't bother playing the DLC, it's stupidly repetitive and the Story just isn't there).
    So we started the game with low expectations and mediocre experience thanks to Destiny.
    And it was awesome.
    The Coop was seamless, the Story was absolutely great (i mean, it's not the best Story i've ever heard but it's good no less), the Experience was phenomenal. I really LOVE the City and the immersion, the other characters - even if they might be a little stereotypical, but some are actually quite well drawn.

    The first night brought my heart up to it's limits, and even after a couple of hours we started running like little chickens whenever the 1-hour-warning started.
    The overall Experience was awesome.
    I've experienced the Save bug, so i had to replay three Sidequests as my game wasn't saved properly (which was fixed shortly after), so i've put about 40 hours in the game.
    Yesterday we played the last story mission and eventually got a notification "you're about to start the final mission, it can only be played in singleplayer" and we both immediately said "oh wait, no! don't start" and started running as fast as we could.
    We simply didn't want the game to end.
    It's maybe the third or the fourth time i've experienced this feeling in a game (the last time was The Last of Us, another might be GTA Vice City - and i've played games for quite some time now).
    It's just good.
    Yes some things are not perfect (the first DLC sucks), but it's a really solid game.

I usually don't give any games a 10/10 as nothing is really ever perfect but I was very disapointed at how low some of the critic reviews were. The game definitely deserves higher than a 74. Some indie titles are getting high 80's and that blows my mind (OlliOlli2.......). Dying Light isn't the perfect game and at times can be a bit frustrating but I thoroughly enjoyed the I am Legend'esk experience. I remember the watch alarm first going off and I was way off from a safe zone trying to finish up a side quest. I actually got chill bumps thinking about the scene from I am Legend. It is undeniable they took many of the concepts from that movie but it worked fantastically for me. I love the atmosphere of the game, the story, and the at times hilarious ways to rid the city of the zombie menace. Truly a game I will remember among the sea of titles for years to come.… Expand

    One of the best games I have ever played.
    Graphics are top notch.
    Gameplay is fun and varied (most varied ever in a zombie game)
    Sounds are great and the use of the controller speaker is fantastic and spot-on.
    Parkour system has minor issues.
    Otherwise, game is perfect. For completionists, it's a fun 50 hour game, without considering online...

    I think Dying Light is the best coop-multiplayer game in PS4 so far. Finished the game with a friend playing from different country with slower internet. The connection is good enough to play.
    I will definitely get the expansions / next sequels if there are any.
    I'm just hoping, for improvements, the dialogues are more designed, somewhat like Witcher 3.

    The Best Zombie Game ever made. It's Mirror's Edge Mixed with Dead Island It's just absolutely incredible. The graphics are spot on and with the new expansion coming soon with a whole new map, cars and even more story, I wouldn't be surprised if that dlc is better than Left Behind

    I enjoyed this game so much. The graphics looks alright, gameplay is just awesome. Sure, there is some minor annoying bugs here and there, but they don't spoil the game at all. I would really recommend to buy this game, since it gives a lot of fun and excitement.

    Palm leaves, I can stop starring at them after 25 hours still, quests are not dumb. I have graphics on max and I love it.     I played this game with a friend, we did the story in co-op. It's been along time since we have played such great game, it's was perfect. It's kind of a mix of many games, you can see allot of FarCry in it, but in a very good way. Story is good, graphic is good. And the gore is perfect! Chop off head, arms and legs, even split them in half, I LOVE IT!!

The variety of weapons is great, as well as the traps, crafting, and parkour - which is just as well done as the Assassin's Creed games, though a little more difficult due to the first person view.

    If it had a downside, it would 2 minor glitches, one involving securing a specific safe house, and the enemies you are required to kill appear on the map and radar, but not in-game. This is fixed by exiting the game and continuing. The second glitch involves failing or restarting challenges, occasionally the character will "float away", but it's fixed by hitting the jump button. Other than these two minor glitches, I haven't experienced any other issues.

    The graphics are great, the environmental graphics are slightly better than face graphics, but it's up to par with other games on the PS4. Lastly, I don't have the best internet connection because I've foolishly gone wireless, but despite that, I've experienced only a few rare disconnects while playing co-op with a friend online. I did not notice any lag, however. It's a great game, and I highly recommend it. I've purchased "The Following" DLC, but have not touched it yet. I'll review it when I do.     Love this game! Beautiful graphics, very little glitches (and when they do occur it is funny, not frustrating), kept me entertained, and is actually scary at times (especially at night). I wanted this game to continue and continue and never end. The story line kept me engaged and I just wanted to keep learning about the characters and do more missions. Highly recommend this game.

    Probably one of the greater games i have had on ps4. The graphics, gameplay, modding features. Just really great. Pretty much dead island but you can climb stuff.

    Dying Light is the best game i have EVER played. Buy it NOW . And for those who cant decide between dying light and far cry 4 ...... seriously ? THIS IS THE BEST GAME.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Dying Light is one of my favorite zombie game so far, the reason is that this game has a horror style, there was one when u open a closet and then u jump off from ur chair just to see a zombie jumpscaring u, even at night time, going out side is the best for a horror style also, and again to find a Night Hunter (Volatile) chasing u, and the parkour mechanics are impressive and spectacular, my most favorite Parkour Skills of all is called Drop Kick, and it's fun to kill zombies, kicking them into any traps, a must-have game to get, so I give this 10/10 Open World, and spectacular areas, even when u are on a high places… Expand

    My favourite Zombie game of all time. I didn’t hear about it until after its release and got it for $10 off Kijiji. Best $10 I’ve ever spent in my life. I played this through twice and spent probably at least a 100 hours playing. Dying Light 2 however sucks really bad and I spent $130 on that.

    Superb game that everyone should play. The player movement is so good that it makes it really easy and amazingly pleasant to traverse the map. I enjoyed every bit of it and can't wait for Dying Light 2.
