    I was looking forward to this game before I heard about their scam model. The fact that they would charge up to $75 for the honor to test their game is beyond just a joke. I will never support this early access trash, and the fact that Sony would allow this makes me want to stomp out my ps4.

    Make no mistake- this company thinks you're all suckers. Up to you to decide if that's true or not.

    Not so good as DD1. At least in the current preview alpha state. But fun for small play sessions. Can't recommend to buy this game while in early access alpha.

    While I'm not crazy about the new direction of the game (i.e. free to play), it is still a lot of fun. You get the four main classes with the free game and can even unlock all the others for free (but it will take a lot more work and time than simply paying to unlock them). You have very limited storage for free, but can max it out for about $20. The rest of the items you can buy with real money are mostly cosmetics, though you can buy shard packs with the premium currency which can help with the game itself. I'm also disappointed that you can now only play online since there is a lot of lag (which is surprising since there aren't usually many players on the PS4 version). Even playing solo required a connection and is often plagues with lag. Although I don't enjoy it as much as the first games, it still has the addictive aspect of looting better gear, leveling up characters, and setting up your towers.

    As this is a free to play game now, I would definitely recommend trying it out if you're curious. Paying can help (especially upgrading storage), but is definitely not necessary to enjoy the game.    … Expand

    I don't judge games on their business models, I judge the game for the actual game, and as it is, this game is good -- and in this case, the more accurate wording is "promising". I never got pulled into the prequel, but this game really did reel me in. It's more accessible for beginners, and as you start - you just get going.

    People are playing this game, so you won't feel constantly alone, and the RPG/MMO mechanics really play out well in this game. I suggest supporting the game now, while it's in Early Access, so that you can get the bonuses with the lowest amount of money possible. Since I don't care much about skins for characters (as they have very little effect on the actual gameplay in the game), I wouldn't really get angry at their business model. It's a fun game to sit down and play, party up with your friends. There is no need being nit=picky (for me at least) about paying money for something unnecessary.    … Expand

    The first was pure gold, this one is pure garbage. I never felt a pain in my soul that cut so deep than seeing this game after falling in love with the first one, not even being broken up with compares to the despair I felt after paying the first.

    The 1st game was a simple arcade game where you could easily pick up the controller and play. This is now over complicated and everything is hard to understand. They have also added in extra things which would be completely pointless if the sandbox was balanced properly but its done because then they can charge for something else. You have just used the name and left a terrible stain of something that was once amazing.… Expand

    With 11 playable classes, multiple costumes, and some wonderfully cartoonish graphics, the games only downfalls are its unnecessarily layered menu system and its somewhat overwhelming controls, which can take a little while to get used to. Dungeon Defenders 2 is an excellent adventure and well worth diving in head first to save Etheria.
