    Regardless of the lack of new content, this game was and still is a seriously funny, perhaps underrated title from the PS2 era. The gameplay still feels solid on a fancy new controller, and it’s always going to be an interesting premise, in this case executed well. If you’re looking for a nostalgic way to pass the time, I’d like to think this is the game for you.

    Destroy All Humans! shows its age under the coat of HD makeup, but still holds up well. Some of the missions suffer from lack of direction or being too repetitive, but I would be lying if I said blowing up tanks and burning down buildings wasn’t enjoyable.

    A straight port from 2005, Destroy All Humans! is not pretty to look at, but the writing has held up well over the last decade. That said, nostalgia can’t fix the repetitive gameplay of Destroy All Humans!, and technical glitches mar the fun on tap. If you want a trip down memory lane, you might catch this on a sale, but it’s hardly a must-have in its current technical state and price point.

    This is one of those games that will always stick in your brain. Back in 2005 I played it for the first time after renting it from the videoThis is one of those games that will always stick in your brain. Back in 2005 I played it for the first time after renting it from the video store on my way home from school. I popped it in and started watching the hilarity ensue. Hearing Pox and Crypto babble back and forth was something that was so cheesy, yet hilarious at the same time.

    Then you get to play and feel what it means to be a true Furon invader. This game had some very unique mechanics for it's time, and some of them have been utilized in newer games. From being able to disguise yourself as any of the humans, to reading the thoughts of everyone, including the animals, had some huge potential. Then you have your PK ability, and you weapons/saucer. While the low number of available options is a bummer, what you got was all tons of fun to play with. The Zap-O-Matic chaining shots to groups of enemy enforcers, Disintegrator ray blasts melting everyone around you, Ion Detonator rounds vaporizing anything it hits, and not to mention the beloved Anal Probe, causing a charged shot to hit your target would cause them to run in a panic, fall over, and have their brain pop out of their skull. The saucer has some neat trick up its sleeve too. The Death Ray is a classic, Sonic Boom would crush building and vehicles to a pulp, and the Quantum Deconstructor was the BFG of this game. VERY limited ammo, but MASSIVE damage output. The abuctor beam was fun to mess with, but the lack of being able to actually abduct people sucked.

    The story was the best part of this game. It was bonkers, off the wall satire all the way through. Spoofing 50s B-movie sci-fi (even adding in a couple of full length classic sci-fi movies as unlockables) and conspiracies. Almost every character was on point, though a couple of them were overly cliche (Looking at Armquist). Favorite group in the game has to be Majestic. They all sound like that typical 50s secret agent would sound, and spout some of the funniest dialog in the game.

    While this game has aged rough, it is still just as fun to play now. The controls were surprisingly intuitive for it's time, and didn't require much effort to learn. It's incredibly easy to pick up and play through, without having to dumb down your brain or try and revert to an older time where controls were archaic.

    For the asking price of $20, I can't really recommend picking it up, as it does have some stability issues, and can be incredibly buggy (I was forced to quit out of missions and restart them because the game would break). I picked it up on sale for $4, but if you ever seen it go for anything under $15, grab it up as quickly as you can. You will get an easy 20+ hours of fun and laughs from this gem.

    For you trophy hunters out there, this one is fairly straight forward, and has one that is missable, and a couple grindy ones. Other than that, it was an easy Platinum. I managed to pull it off in 4-5 days, playing about 6-8 hours each time, and a good chunk of that was just goofing around.    … Full Review »
