    I understand that deliver package makes many people feel boring. But I think the most important thing is creative. The fantastic world and outstanding design make the game different from Shoot or Chop game. The story is also unexpected amazing and give gamer new experience.

    I've waited over a year before I bought the game, I was discouraged by the mixed reviews. Now, after completing the main story and most side activities in almost 120 hours I can easily say it's one of the best games I ever played (and I played hundreds of them).

    Death Stranding is a kind of anti-game, taking apart what video games really are and what is their purpose. Now, after completing the main story and most side activities in almost 120 hours I can easily say it's one of the best games I ever played (and I played hundreds of them).

    Death Stranding is a kind of anti-game, taking apart what video games really are and what is their purpose. Many people call it a walking simulator and at the first glance it really is just that. The trick is that going from one point to another, figuring out the routes, making choices, building structures that will help you and others to traverse difficult terrain gave me more fun than vast majority of action-packed games ever did. Making deliveries became an addiction for me for many hours. You don't have to shoot people to have fun fighting obstacles in a game.

    The other thing is the story, which is incredibly deep and moving near the end of the game. I would compare it to the best sci-fi films in history, like 2001: Space Odyssey or Interstellar. It's epic but also touching and intimate. It makes you wonder what's the meaning of life, what will happen in the future, it questions your beliefs and morality. It left me literally in tears at the end of the game and I will never forget that.

    At last, the graphics and music. It's a delicious cherry on top. Almost every frame in the game could be a perfect wallpaper, it's so mesmerising. The thing I keep coming to the most is probably the music though. It's one the best soundtracks ever. Ryan Karazija, who made most of the songs in the game, is one of the biggest musical discoveries for me in the last decade.

    I love this game. It has its flaws, like shallow fighting system, little bugs and glitches, but it's constantly on my mind and I can't stop thinking about it. I was never a Kojima fan, I never cared about MGS series. Buy now I'm waiting eagerly what his next creation will be.    … Expand

    Graphic and style was perfect, even the story was interesting, but you can’t make a videogame with hours and hours of videos, and just a little time of real gameplay that often was very boring. Dear Kojima, if you want to make a movie then make it but this time you had to do a videogame and you didn’t. Very disappointing.

Безусловно есть люди, которым игра не понравилась из-за нестандартного подхода к геймплею, мол " willing simulator ", но даже при этом сложно отрицать, что "Death Stranding" прекрасная игра.     The game is not trying to be the best game ever created and also it is not trying to involve you to enjoy it but it can be enjoyable after a while for people who liked a unique way of storytelling of kojima and rare ideas. game has its good gameplay, complicated story, long cutscenes (most of people didn’t like it ) and it’s unique characterisation.     death stranding has amazingly good graphics, the characters using movie actors are really cool, the ost is good, but this game has a story that I don't like at all, the gameplay is so boring that I don't intend to continue. After all, I think this game is still good but I don't like it

    I dont even know where to start! Game obviously had it flaws, and as it is not a clear 10/10 it just felt good ending it.
    What i find negative is the fact that game need imo good 10-15 hours to start showing it colors. It starts really slow with giving only hints of what could come. That filters of course many players, as not anyone had a time and    What a fantastic game. Just wow...

But back on the bad things. Steering sucks at this title. Anytime i need to go offroad it just felt like steering a can. Mules are no challange and are too few of them. The world felt empty... but i need to say after 20h o find that actually nice. It let me chill after busy day and enjoy the views.
    Story - the stand out part of the title. Its original and full of hitting moments. I cried like 2 times during the ending. It something that really impacted me as a player.
    Graphics - just wow.
    Music - hard to rate as the game goes almost silent most of the time... But as you going downhill after that hard walkthrough and game starts playing low roar.. wow.
    I will not make it longer. As i loved it as it was 10/10 i must give it a 8.    … Expand

    The cinematics in this is awesome, people criticize it for being not what they expected, but I would rather play other games like DS than the convetional saturated open world games.

I too was someone that saw this game coming with previews and the reviews I saw really put me off seeing as though it appeared to really just be package delivery boy the game so I didn't buy it. However I just bought the game 4 days ago and I seriously couldn't be more excited to keep playing. About 5 hrs in definitely starts to feel like your doing nothing but after you get to the wind farm things really start to pick up. If your playing or haven't tried it yet all you need to know is yes the beginning is a bit slow but the story keeps you motivated. However if you feel it's starting to drag than just stick to main story missions. After that just make it at least to the lake. Give it to the lake and I promise you will not be able to put it down. I totally understand why people hate this game as its definitly not for everyone. But it is really a fun great game and I'm not even normally a Kojima fan but after this game I sure as hell am a fan kow. This game is great and only gets an 8 because some times it doesn't really drag for a little and a few cheap feeling times enemies caught me that were just impossible to avoid but oh so much fun to try and run away before your able to fight lol… Expand

    It's more a 8.5 / 10! Amazing soundtrack, great main history (maybe a little complicated), very good characters each of them with is own interesting history and beautiful world! Isn't for everybody but is a great and very different game! Only bad thing maybe the combat isn’t the best

    Story - this is what it's all about, right?!
    After all the mindblowing trailers and mystified info the expectations were obviously over the top. Did the game deliver? Well, not quite. The overly convoluted story is fascinating, the exceptional production value is apparent, well, mostly, excessively repetitive cutscenes during pick-ups and deliveries spoil the impression a bit. But the biggest issue stems from the unseriousness of the presentation. Being sometimes mocking and silly boded well for MGS series, even it's sometimes deliberate cheesiness fit well. But that doesn't go well with Death Stranding, moreover, it crosses the line from entertaining to ridiculous. It gives the impression that Kojima didn't trust himself to present the story in the full seriousness. The overly cheesiness (breaking the fourth wall you say?!) and silliness at some points pull the player out of the immersion and enjoyment.

    Gameplay - this is what everybody was concerned about at the beginning and where the game arguably would fall short: BORING. I can feel others who think like that, but not me. I genuinely enjoyed playing the game. Of course the gameworld and overall atmosphere contributed a lot. There's a constant haunting serenity in Death Stranding, where even strolling from A to B is satisfying. But of course there's not only that. The gameplay is an evolution of MGS V in some sense. Where many games do a good job of providing a smooth progression curve, or upfront allow to play a short portion with a leveled up character, to give a glimpse of what's to come, Death Stranding is unforgiving (especially if you play on Hard difficulty). You are thrown into this hostile world with only a few tools to survive and it's genuinely hard at the beginning, but once you progress, you gain more experience and more gadgets to help you with the deliveries. The progression does not merely make the game easier, but elevates the gameplay to a new level, where the whole gamestyle changes. And when passing through the locations you've visited earlier, you catch yourself occasionally reminiscing on the troubles you've had. The early routine is mainly about anxiously navigating from start to the destination, but as you progress, especially if you go for 100% completion, you spend more time planning optimal routes and resources, and don't hesitate to confront BTs and Mules. Here the whole shared world concept deserves mentioning. Once you open new areas and connect them to the network, you begin sharing the game world with other players. Some aspects of that are very well thought through, like upgrading, repairing and using the structures of other players, or having your structures upgraded and repaired by the others. The structures that prove to be useful are being well taken care of(and of provide many 'likes' - an in-game rating). Some other concepts though, like donating materials, delivering other players' lost cargoes don't provide enough incentive and seem redundant.

    Verdict.
    The game for sure generated divergent opinions. Some consider it Kojima's best creation, others claim Death Stranding is simply an overhyped junk. I say it's definitely worth trying as it provides some unique experience and an interesting story. But once you start, you need to overcome the initial frustration and let the game grow on you.    … Expand

Hideo took a very brave decision when he made this game and it was an amazing decision, this is no normal game with the same basic genres and experience from most AAA games.     Would be a perfect score for me if the decay was not so fast. Trying to play this game 2 years after release and get a platinum is terrible. There aren’t enough active players to help contribute and if you play on hardest difficulty everything degrades too fast. One of the most atmospheric and engaging games that can be both therapeutic and intense. Visuals are breath taking.The most original strategy game with a fantastic story and unbelievable graphics. One of the most atmospheric and engaging games that can be both therapeutic and intense. Visuals are breath taking. Atmosphere is very unique. Kojima calls it a new “Strand” genre where while you (and everyone else) play the campaign solo you are creating connections amongst each other and help to rebuild the world of Death Stranding. This coming from someone who really has no time to master the complexity of open worlds or their lore. More for people who like slower CIV and strategy games but enjoy RPGs. Very engaging visuals.     I stayed away from the game for so long because of the walking simulator reviews. It’s anything but! Definitely more of a hiking simulator ;) and a **** brilliant one! Beautiful looking game. Makes me feel calm, hiking/adventuring through amazing scenery. Highly recommend.

I walked up Mount Chiliad in GTA V just to enjoy the graphics. I always faced video games above the challenges, as a traveler. Death Stranding is a game made for me. Cross the mountains, cross rivers and forests, enjoy the beauty of the trees and the dazzling gray scenery. I have never felt so calm playing a game. I would just dispense with the fights with the EPs. The story is wonderful. Thank you Kojima. It's the best game ever in my opinion.… Expand

    This game is beautiful.

    It's obvious to anyone that Death Stranding is unique. The environments are fcking insane. The music is immersive and I find myself just staring in awe at this fcking beauty of a game.

    Beside that though... It's just boring. I cannot find it in me to enjoy the Deliveroo simulator style of gameplay no matter how many hours I devote to it. It just isn't for me.

    I can completely see how this can not be someone´s cup of tea, but I just love everything about this game. The world is absolutely amazing, the worldbuilding is, while a bit lenghty at times, fantastic. The story is enigmatic and you have to pay a lot of attention to actually understand some of the plot elements. The gameplay is addicting as fck to me. Yes, its just a bunch of glorifiedI can completely see how this can not be someone´s cup of tea, but I just love everything about this game. The world is absolutely amazing, the worldbuilding is, while a bit lenghty at times, fantastic. The story is enigmatic and you have to pay a lot of attention to actually understand some of the plot elements. The gameplay is addicting as fck to me. Yes, its just a bunch of glorified fetch quests, but the beautiful graphics, world, music, attention to detail, surprisingly stressful situations and just the satisfaction you get by every single quest make up for it. In my opinion a bizarre masterpiece, not for everyone, but if you have a bit of patience, Kojima will deliver you one of the best videogame worlds I have ever seen.

    Of all the games that seem overly pushed and heavily marketed, this one lives up to those standards. Cons: you will be heavily confused and frustrated the first ten hours. But the payoff is absolutely worth it!

    Ich hätte es nie gedacht, aber Death Stranding kriegt von mir 10 Punkte, als ich mir das Spiel gekauft hatte, hatte ich eigentlich absolut kein Bock diese Postboten Simulation zu spielen, denn ein Spiel das entwickelt wurde um den Spielern an manchen Stellen einfach keinen Bock zu machen mag ich eigentlich nicht allzu gerne, aber Death Stranding war wirklich unfassbar gut. Ich habe 47Ich hätte es nie gedacht, aber Death Stranding kriegt von mir 10 Punkte, als ich mir das Spiel gekauft hatte, hatte ich eigentlich absolut kein Bock diese Postboten Simulation zu spielen, denn ein Spiel das entwickelt wurde um den Spielern an manchen Stellen einfach keinen Bock zu machen mag ich eigentlich nicht allzu gerne, aber Death Stranding war wirklich unfassbar gut. Ich habe 47 Stunden in diesem Spiel damit verbracht Pakete von einem Ort zum anderen zu bringen und es wurde mir nicht eine einzige Sekunde langweilig.
    Über die Story möchte ich nichts sagen, zum einen wäre es wirklich viel zu kompliziert und zum anderen lohnt es sich einfach diese Story ohne Vorkenntnisse zu spielen, denn dann wird man mit einer unfassbar guten, überraschenden und abgedrehten Story überrascht.
    Das Spiel ist einfach unfassbar gelungen, was ich niemals gedacht hätte und gehört zu meinen absoluten Lieblingsspielen.

    After seeing all the mixed reviews I thought i would finally give this game ago myself. A long time Kojima fan with MGS series I thought Similar themes would apply.

    After the first two hours I did not really understand the concept or really what any of the characters were talking about.     Brand new concept of gameplay that became addictive. The story was ‘meh’ but i did like the connectivity to other players and helping out in the world. I would suggest going in with an open mind. I racked up a 90hour playthrough to complete and still playing after. Hope more content to come    … Expand

    When I first started playing this I thought for the first few hours it was some standard horror game. Turned out to be the opposite and is the best delivery game ever. If this could be the life of a courier I would change careers!

    All in all I think about this game regularly. It is definitely one of my favourites. Beautiful graphics and perfect ambience.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Tutto ciò che poteva essere tecnicamente STRAORDINADIO nel titolo è rovinato da:
    1) Monotonia disarmante, cosa odia il videogiocatore, fate dal punto A al punto B, e torna indietro. Questo gioco ne fa la sua forza.
    2) Si passa dal una difficoltà estrema data dalle prime CA all’esageratamente facile appena si ha il primo fucile.
    3) Boss figth fatte MALISSIMO, pessime, gestite male che ti fan bestemmiare, non perché difficili ma perché fatte male, esempio la scazzottata con higgs o prima la CA colossale.
    4) I mezzi, il veicolo a 4 ruote va letteralmente dove vuole appena c’è un po’ di salita si gira senza un motivo, la moto si pianta nei granelli di sabbia.

I can understand where people are coming from when they say this game isn't for everyone because the way I see it, most people think of fun video games as primarily just mindless hack and slashing, shooting others, and innovative gameplay but not delivering packages or complex stories but to be completely honest with you, after putting more than 100 hours into this game for the platinum, I personally believe the people who are giving this game a 0 didn't even bother playing this because this game is so much more than just a lifeless open world delivery game. The main thing to understand what I mean is that I wouldn't describe this world as "lifeless" since there's plenty of lost cargo along the path meaning you can decide to stop and quickly pick it up making sure it's a mindless point A to B path with nothing to look at since the lost cargo all over the place will make sure you keep a careful eye all over the place. It's not even like there's nothing to look at even without the lost cargo since the graphics are PHENOMENAL even for a base PS4 to complement the atmosphere to ensure it's both relaxing which I can imagine is what a lot of people play games for and it stays in your head on what a post apocalyptic world would look like and it also helps the performance is excellent since the frame stays LOCKED to 30 FPS which is especially impressive for a world this detailed even for a PS4 Pro. The way how the gameplay is more fun than it looks since your cargo is heavy and the world is also a challenge with terrain potentially posing a danger to cargo making you plan out and experiment on how to get past the challenge and it's always satisfying when you do it. I'm not kidding when I say the sandbox a big strength of this game since you could overcome a challenge or reach a destination however you want; for example, I decided to try and kill all the human enemies and cremate their bodies to see what would happen and sure enough, their bodies NEVER came back making me feel rewarded I tried an experiment. The "emptiness" is intended since you can build any types of structures you want but there's also other structures other players made and when you use them/make structures, you're helping other people out and they're helping you to make you and others understand that in order to save America (or let's face it as gamers, probably just get the platinum trophy), we need to work together and unite as one which now that I think about it, must've been Kojima's plan all along. Whoever made this soundtrack should get a raise because there's not a whole lot of music but then when it does come up, it shows up when you're about to finish a difficult delivery and it genuinely feels like a massive burden is lifted off your shoulders and you feel so relived thanks to the soothing music. Finally, the story is frankly complex and convoluted and that in return is what makes it incredible but it's really the characters surrounding the story that makes it something special because without them, this story would've fallen flat on it's face since a good story is completely around it's characters to tell it. HOWEVER, I don't think this game is perfect and even though Kojima is quite an icon in the gaming industry, even he isn't immune from criticism and I've seen plenty of people say these flaws are his "style" but to be clear, just because it's his style doesn't make it good. Like even though the physics are amazing, they're not perfect since Sam could slip and act like he hit a wall even when a rock the size of his knee caps is in the way and it's extra annoying when you feel your cargo shouldn't have gotten damaged like this. The performances are great for the most part, but there was this one character who was just downright HORRIBLE especially considering this is a AAA game. Finally, what I believed created of the initial negative first impressions, nothing happens in the first 4 chapters. To be frank, it's not the players job to continue on throughout the game to see what happens, the developers need to get the players engaged from the very beginning otherwise players are gonna think this is how the game is gonna be for the rest of the game which is clearly not true. Overall, despite it's flaws, Death Stranding is one of the most unique games I've ever played and I'm so happy I played it since I haven't felt both this relaxed and lost in a video game for quite and a while and if you can get past the first 4 chapters, I can happily recommend this game and I can't wait to see what Kojima has to offer for the sequel.
    EDIT: Actually, scratch what I said, the human enemies I killed DID come back but that wasn't for a LOT longer than if I knocked them out    … Expand

    В целом с учетом того, что игра вышла на пк больше игроков смогли испытать ее, но я играл на пс4, и в целом что бы разложиться на диване и поиграть в неспешную игру с добротным сюжетом она хороша    … Expand

    I've platinum-ed this game with 120+ hours of gameplay.
    This is not just a walking stimulator. Glad that I didn't listen to the trend and brought it and played it.
    Fantastic experience for a true gamer that have patient to really enjoy a game.

Quizás la historia podría haberse mejorado para hacerla más fácil de comprender y no colocar tantas cinemáticas pero en general es una buena obra.

Сюжет не плохой, но притянуто за уши сочувствие ко всем персонажам и их мотивация. Просто бред кричать что "Коджима гений!" и тд. и тп. Проходил на максимальном уровне сложности, на котором игра еще и в бесконечный гринд превращается.
    Визуал отличный, графика супер. Интерфейс слегка чудной, в плане загрузки грузов и тп. Еле-еле свыкся к концу игры.
    Можно конечно сказать что атмосферой и живостью персонажей игра не такая пресная, но доставлять грузы из точки А в точку Б по 30 (а то и больше минут) это конечно убивает весь геймплей, чем бы и как бы это не было обосновано.
    Меньше вопросов было к Last Of Us 2, которую как по мне все несправедливо захейтили.
    Все фишки PS5 присутствуют.

    J'ai passé un très bon moment dessus, le gameplay est sympa, ça change des jeux habituel de ce calibre.
    Le plus simple est de tester et vous faire votre propre avis. Après je comprend parfaitement que certains n'aient pas du tout accroché ;)

The action you have to make when on foot is so unique that gotta admit it's an acquired taste but when you get used to the sense of it, you can see how this game opens a whole new paradigm of action game. Needless to say how overwhelming the scenery is with wonderful musics. It's divisive of course, for it's not like any other game we've been playing so far. But if you think of yourself as an open minded person or want to challenge something new, this is the one. You are gonna love it unless you are a trigger happy americans or IGNorant.     I actually liked it, I mean, the base gameplay mechanic is still just walking around, but it's really enjoyable. You should try it at least, the game is not that expensive right now, so if you hate it after buying it, you don't loose that much money

    Really enjoy the landscapes and the story. Visually amazing. It's not the typical FPS game and that's something positive.

    There are a little too many cinematic scenes in the first and last hours of the game, and the excess of these scenes can make the game a little boring and tiring.     I followed this game since the first teaser. In the end the game didn't match my genre, it felt really horror. Still I tried the game and it became one of my favourite games in the last 25 years of gaming. The scenery, the music, the open world, the scary moments, the story, the feeling when you reach your destination after a long and hard trip was amazing!!! Thank you for this game!!!

    story : 10/10 for me ... because it was so special journey in video game industry and i'm really in love with mysterious sci fie subjects .... so this game was for me
    graphic : the game looks gorgeous ... beautiful landscapes and face details ... so it is 10/10 for me gameplay : not good .. honestly ... first problem is walking in the game is so good    i just finished the game ...

    gameplay : not good .. honestly ... first problem is walking in the game is so good relaxing okay .. but when it get too much .. you'll start getting bored ... and honestly i couldn't enjoy music and landscapes much because there were bt's in my way... second problem is boss fights ... i played on very hard difficulty and i didn't know where to expect boss fight so i didn't get weapons i needed .. so game become harder for me, i kept playing until the last boss fight ... and in the last cliff boss fight i tried one hundred times and i couldn't kill him because i didn't have weapon and i should've used in game weapons .. so it was almost impossible to defeat him ... so i lower the difficulty, the thing i hate to do in the middle the games i play... so despite beautiful graphic and amazing story this game had weak gameplay that could be much better .. but i think 9 is a fair score .. and thanks to kojima and his team for this gorgeous game ;)    … Expand

    My thoughts on gameplay, the first 25% was "interesting but I hope it gets better". The second 25% was "pretty fun but a bit repetitive". The final 50% was "when will this be over so I can move on to another game?". Clunky personnel combat mechanics, especially close quarters. Movement is a constant struggle with obstacles, there is no strafing unless you're aiming a weapon, so to change directions requires a small circle which can unintentionally send you in a random direction (e.g. off a cliff).

    For repeatability, let's just say I finished it and I will never play this game again.    … Expand

    Just finish story. I can admint its geting boring in some point to deliver this parcerls but the story is mindblowing and the last chapter is playing on our at least on my emotions. The long story and repetive missions are done with perpouse to band player with characters to put some emotions betwen player and character we control and the one are close to us.     Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
