    I'm not gonna spoil anything but once you stick through it, and I mean seriously stick through it, this is probably the most exceptional experience I've had with a game. One that will actually make you question your EXISTENCE. Pure sci-fi. On top of that Kojima still left some little things in the game for Metal Gear fans. All in all a solid 9/10.     Unusual for a blockbuster of the Central mechanics, amazing attention to detail, great soundtrack, interesting visual design. Kojima the best!

    Death Stranding was a game I was really looking foward to. But unfortunately, it's not what I expected. Gameplay seems tedious and monotonous at best with desolate environments mostly void of any kind of life which makes for a rather boring experience.     BUT, the lore justifies it. "It's art!"
    Gameplay is pathetic, it doesn't just figuratively spit in your face by making your endless slogs through the bland sandbox as irritating as possible, yet not deep and balanced enough to be engaging, but also has probably the most underwhelming, single-button masher, undercooked and unbalanced combat systems I've seen this generation.
    Oh and this time, "art" isn't there to convince the pseudo-intellectuals that it's simply meant to be this way.
    BTs and MULEs are so incapable of navigating their environments, of hurting the player or pose any kind of challenge that combat encounters are literally banal, WHILE the lore establishes these chickens as dangerous renegades and lovecraftian monstrosities.
    And you have a story that's convoluted, pseudo-intellectual, pretentious and dissonant beyond mortal belief.
    This is a game you watch a cutscene compliation of with your buddies to clown how bad everything about it is.
    The online element is at least somewhat refreshing, adds this sense of companionship and not being alone (and you need a LOT of that in this game).
    The graphics are nice and detailed, kind of a shame I stopped giving a **** about graphics after the PS3 era, that was probably the last time graphics were a "wow" factor for me, especially when the games supposed art direction is basically non-existent.    … Expand

    Si quieres probar algo nuevo no esta mal, kojima se fumo la piedra filosofal, la bso es de 10, los actores y jugabilidad también, es una especie de senderismo con repartidor, la historia te quedas loco no entiendes nada al final, se fue por las ramas sinceramente.     Одна из худших игр поколения и полное непонимание как создается геймплей. Сони могут нанять Кодзиме всех голливудских актеров,но они ни разу не сделают сам игровой процесс хоть сколько-нибудь интересным.

    После финальных титров Кодзима снова заставляет меня сидеть с открытым ртом. Стилистика, графика, музыка, герои - на наивысшем уровне! Одним из минусов лично для меня - это искусственная "затянутость" игры.

    There is a lot of effort and a lack of sense of a good game. There are flaws that make you simply hate the game and honestly quite a few things simply to smooth the hate coming from ex Kojima's fanboys.

    Death Stranding is not a game. It is meant to be a movie, maybe a good one for some audience. Guys, just don't waste your time on it, it doesn't worth it at all.

    I loved the game and it was my first from kojima. I later played metal gear solid 1 and i loved that too. Death stranding is an amazing journey that will scare you, make you cry but also appreciate breathtaking landscame. The gameplay is a cool rpg but maybe the environment should have been upgraded with some animals

    Absolutely loved this game!! Those who just call it a "walking sim" have no clue at all. Yes you walk a lot in this game, i mean its part of the story. But Kojima somehow managed to make the walking from A to B so much fun that I was able to play this game for several ours a day and not get bored at all. Also because of the phenomenal graphics of course. the landscape, thich isAbsolutely loved this game!! Those who just call it a "walking sim" have no clue at all.     Not just a walking sim. The multiplayer mechanics are an amazing addition. Always feel tense getting through the BT zones! Great work to Kojima's studio.

    Great game, lots of gameplay mechanics. It's takes a few hours to get into it but it it's totally worth the investment. Only complaint I have is the amount of time you spend in the menu. That is a very legitimate complaint with the game. The menu time is intense. Despite that, it's a great story. If you are into narrative action games, this is a must play. You won't regret it.

    Sinceramente no pensé que me iba a gustar, termino atrapándome muchísimo (al punto de perder horas de sueño), al principio es lento, pero una vez que empiezas a obtener algunas mejoras se pone mas interesante. Lo recomiendo para aquellos viejos gamers que están un poco aburridos de las mecánicas de siempre, si uno se olvida de la controversia y de Kojima, es mejor de lo que parece

    Llevo jugando a los videojuegos desde la época de nes y master system. Por mi haber han pasado muchos juegos, de las mencionadas 8 bits hasta ahora y puedo decir que hacia muchos años que un juego no me transmitía tanto como este.

    Criticarlo por la realización de misiones secundarias que pueden llegar a ser repetitivas es un desacierto. Este juego es mucho más que seguir las secundarias    Llevo jugando a los videojuegos desde la época de nes y master system. Por mi haber han pasado muchos juegos, de las mencionadas 8 bits hasta ahora y puedo decir que hacia muchos años que un juego no me transmitía tanto como este.

    Criticarlo por la realización de misiones secundarias que pueden llegar a ser repetitivas es un desacierto. Este juego es mucho más que seguir las secundarias (por cierto algunas son brillantes) sumergirte en un mundo con infinidad de detalles, la maravillosa banda sonora, el inmejorable doblaje de los actores es sólo la punta del iceberg. Es un juego profundo al que me fue imposible dedicarle menos de 100h, me lo he pasado con 105h y aun me quedan secretos por descubrir.

    Decididamente se trata de una obra maestra, un argumento que te deja elucubrando posibles respuestas durante dias. Ir del punto A al punto B se convierte en toda una expeciencia en la que debes usar el ingenio para alcanzar tu meta, nada es lo que parece.

    Recomendado a aquellos que sepan jugar desde la calma, aquellos que quieran disfrutar de un juego que alcanza la cumbre en prácticamente todos los aspectos. Tiene algún fallo, cierto como la falta de realismo en el manejo de los vehículos pero que esto os no haga perderos todo lo que supone esta historia.

    Vivimos en un mundo donde la ordinariez y vulgaridad acapara los mayores éxitos en la tv, prensa y muchos videojuegos. Este juego supone un antes y un después en esta industria como lo supuso en su dia shenmue (otro incomprendido en su época y ahora es un juego de culto)

    This game is mostly about narrativge because the gameplay is not the strong side of this game.The gameplay is quite specefic cause not everyone can enjoy it,but i enjoyed it,and also sounftrack by Low Roar is breathtaking.The narrative is so good a lot of twists and unexpected turns of plot.But i truly recomend to play this game,it is different experience in games.

    Death stranding Is a very monotonous game. First 5 hours of game were awesome, but after that you see that game has nothing more to offer. This game is a good example of missed opportunity.

    Ich liebe dieses Spiel aber man muss sagen es ist nicht für jeden und die Kritik an den Cutscenes kann ich für mich nicht verstehen ich liebe es wenn ein Spiel sich auch dazu noch anfühlt wie ein Film das lässt mich Persönlich besser in die Welt eintauchen aber wie gesagt man muss der type dafür sein

    Death Stranding has some strong points (masterful sound and beautiful scenery) but falls off from being a must play/experience. It is either a blind love for Hideo Kojima's work or a hidden gem of its time.

    Pretty solid game (no pun intended) but it has some issues. Sometimes can feel a bit boring and most of the missions are basically fetch quests. The story it's confusing at the beginning but it kinda makes sense at the end but yeah there's plot holes too. Soundtrack is my favorite aspect of the game and it was very dissapointing that America its pretty empty and looks exactly like Iceland.Pretty solid game (no pun intended) but it has some issues.     This game is not the bad, I feel the gameplay can be frustrating sometime, but it's easy to control. The BT are easy to fight and to dodged, The Mule (the human enemy) can be challenging at first but when you get the gun it can be really easy to fight them. Problem I have is that the mission are really boring, at the beginning hours of the game its was fine but doing the same thing againThis game is not the bad, I feel the gameplay can be frustrating sometime, but it's easy to control.     If you are the type of gamer that wants to feel immersed in a game as if you are shadowing the protagonist along their journey, you will like this game. Buckle down for the first section of the game as it includes A LOT of cut scenes and can be a bit tedious. Once you have reached the main map and are set loose you start to really appreciate the game design.     First of all! The game looks stunning. It's beautiful with its lush but dark forest environments and rocky terrain. The story is good but I feel has way too many elements in it and could have been a bit more simplified. The gameplay.....o the gameplay, this game is not fun to play, its loop of you delivering stuff gets old real quick. Plus the pacing and mission structure is not goodFirst of all!     This game is not for everyone, and is not perfect, Kojima tells a simple story in a way too complicated way, there are too many unecesary cutscenes, well detailed and impresive, but unnecesary.

    Gameplay is simple, its not about the destination but the journey and the route you choose, not a walking, but a hiking simulator, you must take note of where you walk and wether Sam can maintain    This game is not for everyone, and is not perfect, Kojima tells a simple story in a way too complicated way, there are too many unecesary cutscenes, well detailed and impresive, but unnecesary.

    Gameplay is simple, its not about the destination but the journey and the route you choose, not a walking, but a hiking simulator, you must take note of where you walk and wether Sam can maintain balance, the terrain is the real enemy in this game, one of the key aspects is the asynchronous multiplayer component, it wasn't well advertised, it really compels you to go out of your way to build and complete structures helping other players in the process.

    The main enemies, the BTs at the beginning where dounting, but later become an easy to avoid nuisance (thank god for the update that lets you skip the alert sequence), mule camps are fun at the start but become easy to manage thanks to exploitable IA

    Ambience is key, the sounds and visuals really transport you into an alien like world, even though its locales are taken from New Zealand, the music is really spot on, the techno sounds really emphazise the esterile environments from the distro centers to enemy encounters that feel bizarre. Lisence tracks are cool too, Low Roar might not be in everyones alley but it sure fits Death Stranding whole motive

    At the end it depends on every person tht plays it, some people are goona dread this game, telling its an overhyped piece of garbage, others are gonna love it just because its a Kojima game, other people like me gave it a fair chance, acknolegde the bad and apreciating the good in it, Again this game is not for everyone, its a really niche and pretentious game but given the chance it might trap you in its zen state where you know what you are doing might be pointless or not that important (deliveries like toys, aphrodisiac and pizzas for christ sake) but you do it anyway just for the satisfaction of doing a good job    … Expand

    Death Strandings best aspects are its visuals and how unique it is. It gets into a nice and enjoyable groove once you hit the second area of the game. But falls down again once you make your way to the snowy mountain. The story is a convoluted mess with cringeworthy dialougue at times.

I didn't play it on day one, only now, and I can tell that it easily took the spot of the best game I've ever played, the Last Of Us being the one before it. The emptiness of Death Stranding's world is striking and wonderful, the sense of exploration and atmospheric tension here is unmatched,I will never understand why a game like this could ever get a review score below 7, AT LEAST 7. All the menus and complexity (like witcher 3) seems overwhelming initially but soon it turns into very logical comfortable must have thing . Plus the phenomenal sound tracks make you live the game. .     Its a game for the lucky ones that will actually understand it. Lots of people are judging it basing just on prejudices. If you are capable and willing to try something that is more then a call of duty, give this masterpiece a try. You will not be disappointed. A true masterpiece.

    By no means a game everyone should play and definitely not one everyone will like, Death Stranding is the most unique gaming experience I've ever played and at least deserves recognition for its originality. It hardly fits in a genre and as much as people have boiled it down to a "delivery/walking simulator", this is ultimately true. This does not however capture what makes this game special. Its control scheme is unlike anything I've ever used, its story is complete insanity, the graphics are extraordinary, the atmosphere is melancholy and the philosophical implications are pretentious yet important.

    Death Stranding makes no apologies for wasting your time, and will often see you travelling for miles with a package for delivery. The environment is harsh, challenging and dramatic, with huge cliffs, raging rivers, endless deserts and packed forests standing between you and your destination within post-apocalyptic America. The journey is, in my opinion, riveting despite the lengths you need to go to. Travelling with your companion baby-in-a-jar (I repeat, the story is insanity), you use ropes, ladders, vehicles and your bare hands to make your way to the few remaining human outposts. It's a lonely, pensive experience punctuated by truly terrifying encounters with BTs, the monsters of the story. They appear at random, with the real-time weather system, and never fail to send me into a blind panic as they attempt to drown me in a lake of oily shadow. Your carefully balanced package (this is a whole game mechanism) will almost certainly fall, become damaged and battling the monsters is never an easy feat. The sense of danger is palpable at all times and truly one of the best horror experiences of late. Gunplay isn't amazing, but does the job.

    The act of 'connecting' the country by travelling its width and setting up communication towers is really cool and the passive co-op play, in which you can provide structures and items to other players and vice versa makes for a truly individualistic approach where your whole game is constantly evolving. You can co-operatively build roads through a rocky terrain, send supplies to your friends, deliver their dropped packages and so on, and communicate with them through 'likes' - how dystopian.

    The story is typical Kojima pretentious nonsense and I absolutely love it. Technology, religion, paranormality, society, politics, history, science, it's all here. And trust me that it is worth it. The origin story of the Clifford character is one of the most intense, thought-provoking and well-written arcs in a game to date, for me.

    Playing this game cannot be succinctly described and I can't fit it all into this review. I'll just say that it isn't like anything I've experience and I loved every second. It's frustrating, alienating, lonely, confusing and mimics the emotions of every day life, but also contains sparks of joy, accomplishment, drama and intrigue. It's one of the best times I've had since buying my PS4 and must be experienced on a personal basis - don't listen to me or someone else's opinion as gospel. If you're willing to accept something out-of-the-box, go for it. The amount of detail and love put into this dazzling audio-visual experience is staggering and it's as satisying to complete as you'd imagine. Beauty in monotony, a sense of pride in humble actions and the sense of scale in the smallest of areas, Death Stranding contradicts what games have always been and lays the road for something completely new to take its place next to the big-shots.     This game is a complete waste of money. It has great graphics with a great cast but that's about it. You're essentially a mail man/courier, delivering random things to npcs you don't care about. I was highly anticipating this game especially since it was made by Hideo Kojima but it looks like he should just stick to Metal Gear Solid.

    Speaking of which the minute to minute gameplay is extremely boring. I mean, it's about walking what do you expect? Sometimes you get to drive and that's almost fun sometimes, but as soon as you run out of battery or get your vehicle stuck it hits you hard man. Realizing you've got 10 extra minutes of holding the control stick up because your ride is wedged between two rocks is frustrating beyond belief.
    This world is full of beautiful things to admire and that can be hard to remember when you are surrounded by media that fully engages you from moment to moment. Maybe this game is reviewed so well because it forces people to slow down and really appreciate something. If that sounds good to you I encourage you to put on some headphones and take a walk outside instead of dropping $60 on one of the stupidest games I've ever played.    … Expand

Who wants to read hundreds of found documents, and emails to completely understand a games plots?
    Game play is uneventful and not saying it needs to be action packed, im all in for slow relaxing games, I enjoyed it most of the time.. but the game does not surprise very often. And finally the scenery is not THAT beautiful as some say.. looks artificial and too digital.
    Menus are too complicated and it takes for ever to organize your inventory for each mission.
    All in all, I still played it to the end. It was a satisfying 'every now and then 1hr of gaming' perfect for relaxing after a days work.

    I am Not a 'gamer' but enjoy playing (good) video games every now and then.
    I loved; Sekiro, Zelda BOTW, Inside, Last of Us, Celeste, & Control- And enjoyed Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding    … Expand

    This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
