Sep 12, 2022Good but not great! Gorgeous graphics, relaxing gameplay, its a different style of game from Kojima but still enjoyable.

May 7, 2020Story and idea is unique and interesting more so that the world is facing a pandemic right now. However, the execution is boring and monotonous. Every mules act the same way like robots. Every terrain feel copied and paste. Every job order seems meaningless and unrewarding.
Edited- Increase from 5 to 7 due to the well-thought story telling. -

Nov 10, 2019Were this game from any other director, it wouldn't get as many perfect scores, but as it's Kojima's, people ignore the fact it's niche as hell.

Feb 27, 2022Good game, way overhyped by some. It’s kind of boring but more-ish. It’s weird, it’s hard to put down but yet it really isn’t that interesting. Felt they could’ve used Norman Reedus a bit more vocally than they actually did.

Jun 25, 2020Still cant decide between 7 or 8 because of some strange gameplay decisions, but game was interesting to expirence and kojima's distinguishing game style still conquers my heart and mind.

Aug 21, 2021After all the hype and anticipation, Death Stranding turned out to be far less than I expected and it's disappointing to hear myself say that. (Full review pending)

Dec 10, 2019Great graphics, great voice acting, good story with a nice emotional payoff. Poor gameplay as if Kojima wanted to show off his actors and didn't concentrate on gameplay details. Its a nice idea if you look at it from a far and could be considered as 'games as art'. No replay value and not much fun to play really.

Mar 7, 2021Death stranding is a very good game but so boring! Interesting gameplay first hour but absolutely same all game after.

Nov 14, 2019There's a great game somewhere in the idea but Death Stranding is definitely not it. If you're not starved for something different and/or have a lot of free time (I clocked in at 53 hours), don't bother. I appreciate the fresh approach to open-world traversal and semi-innovative multiplayer and that's a weak 7/10 for me.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Mar 18, 2020Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it. [Issue#299]

Mar 18, 2020This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

Jan 29, 2020Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
