    I bought it at release but sold it a few days later save your time and money! I was a massive fan of Kojima as MGS is one of my favorite series, till the unfinished MGSV came along that is..This is perhaps the only game in my life that gave me buyers remorse, a colossal failed experiment with the most inconherent story in the history of video games. The 5000 characters this sham of a siteI bought it at release but sold it a few days later save your time and money! I was a massive fan of Kojima as MGS is one of my favorite series, till the unfinished MGSV came along that is..This is perhaps the only game in my life that gave me buyers remorse, a colossal failed experiment with the most inconherent story in the history of video games. The 5000 characters this sham of a site provides isn't nearly enough to describe how monotonous, incoherent, pretentious and deceptive Death Stranding is as a whole, from it's painful gameplay to it's unbelievably shady marketing as a product. I'd give it a 4 at best but since this site has now deleted over 6000 justified negative reviews and opinions it's getting the 0 it probably deserves, due to how much hype it had when it justified none of it at all. Oh and don't forget it's guaranteed to win GOTY at the Game Awards next week, of course it will, the host has a cameo appearance ffs, not shady at all.. no gameplay shown in it's marketing, not shady at all.. 6000+ negative reviews deleted, not shady at all..… Expand

    Self indulgent nonsense. All style and no substance. Terrible gameplay and boss fights. Cringe-inducing and repetitive cutscenes (special mention to that Baywatch one). A black hole of a game.

    While visually impressive, Death Stranding is a game that fails to deliver compelling gameplay and a satisfying story. The game forces you to do mundane tasks for over 40 hours and doesn’t reward you in any meaningful way. If you consider your time valuable at all steer clear from this trainwreck from Kojima.

    Juego aburrido y sin sentido. Si quiero repartir paquetes lo hago por dinero, y si quiero ver una peli voy al cine. Paisajes sin árboles y vegetación plana... Una gran vendida de humojima.

El juego es tremendamente aburrido, la historia solo es interesante después del 50% del juego, pero dudo que siquiera el 70% de la gente que compre este videojuego al igual que yo pueda llegar a pasárselo entero, el juego esta vacío, la inteligencia artificial es malísima, los enemigos finales son un chiste y es completamente insactisfactorio caminar de un punto a otro sin siquiera saber muchas veces el porque.

    Lo horrible: el juego tiene una historia tan compleja que no lo entenderá la mayoría que lo juegue, tendrían que re jugarlo y eso es algo que el 98% que lo haya terminado no lo hará, para entender la historia, un pésimo videojuego que es entretenido si mientras lo juegas estás con un amigo al lado, si lo juegas tú solo mueres de aburrimiento    … Expand

    Um jogo medíocre, com uma jogabilidade ridícula e sem estruturação, onde você fica indo de uma lado pro outro, sempre se frustrando mais e mais até o ponto que você desiste e vai procurar qualquer outro jogo pra jogar ou ver o mato crescer que vale mais a pena. Esperava mais do Kojima.

I played the game for 3 hours every day for 4 days it brought nothing but frustration.. came home from work every day tired , and starting this game made me feel like going on second shift. So let my comment go this time they took my 60$ and at least i want my right to vote. In short the game was boring instead of making the bikes reliable and go through rough terrain they made them feel like they hit a wall but it's a 10cm rock in front. Point A to point B is basically work day for me. Let me have a vote they took my money now my rights lol savages.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Par où commencer? Je vais suivre le déroulement du jeu. Au début le gameplay est plutôt intéressant, vous découvrez l'échelle et la corde vous traversez le terrain avec ça et ça fonctionne plutôt bien. A ce point du jeu c'est plutôt les cinématiques, Sam et sa propension vouloir nous faire croire qu'il ne veut pas réaliser la quête principale alors que c'est exactement ce pour quoi vous avez acheté le jeu qui vous rend dingue. On a l'impression que ça dure trois plombe. Une fois tout cela passé c'est le gameplay et son évolution dans le monde ouvert qui vous fait tenir. L'histoire est inintéressante à ce point précis. Vous allez découvrir les véhicules, la moto qui n'est pas utile du tout si ce n'est pour jouer sur celle de walking dead puis le camion tout terrain. Forcément quand le but des quêtes c'est d'accepter un maximum de quêtes, donc de kilos, et de les transporter d'un point A à un point B, C puis D. Le camion tout terrain fait sens. Après le terrain se complique, les échoués, des ennemis inutiles là pour vous empêcher d'utiliser des véhicules concrètement. Vous poussera à revenir au gameplay de base, vos boots. Vous poussez le joystick et vous tapoter sur R2/L2 de temps en temps. Vous allez rapidement découvrir les tyroliennes, ça vous fait voyager de 300 mètres en appuyant sur un bouton unique. Super! Le gameplay devient inexistant à ce moment du jeu. L'histoire s'emballe un peu vous persévérez, vous avez envie de finir cette quête inutile jusqu'au bout, d'affronter le grand méchant, de retrouver votre copine/sœur ou demie sœur on sait pas trop et sincèrement on s'en contrefout. L'affrontement est nul, le gameplay n'est tout simplement pas assez profond pour qu'il en soit autrement... Vous allez vous faire des cargaisons d'armes, des quadruples bazooka et de tirer sur un mob géant jusqu'à ce que sa barre de vie soit vide... Le pire dans tout cela c'est qu'il y a une deuxième phase dans l'affrontement ou vous balancer des colis qui ne devraient pas être la sur la tête du grand méchant puis enchaîner des attaques au corps à corps jusqu'à ce que le jeu vous délivre de cette tâche ultra chiante. Vous lache une cinématique ou vous êtes heureux comme dans une série b petite course sur la plage tout sourire main dans la main, vraiment??? Puis ça repart on vous demande de repartir au tout début du jeu après 30 minutes de cinématique...
    Un subterfuge pour voir l'évolution du monde en ligne...
    Ce jeu est une blague, il n'en est même pas un en vérité. Kojima n'arrive pas à se défaire de ses héros qui parle à peine, légendaire et solo. C'est d'un agacement d'avoir un FedEx Snake entre les mains, a croire qu'il ne sait pas faire autre chose...Le gameplay est très proche de celui de MGS 5 au final, il n'a pas réussi son pari je retrouve les armes, l'infiltration ...    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Comenzare primero por los puntos, que a mi parecer, son los buenos del juego para luego terminar con los flojos. Todas las criticas dadas a continuación fueron experimentadas en dificultad máxima del juego.

    Pros.
    - El juego gráficamente es muy bueno, uno de los mas exigentes del año.
    - Hay muchos pequeños detalles en el mundo que son interesantes como el desnivel, profundidad del agua, la reacción de la flora a la lluvia y como crece y se marchita, etc.
    - La banda sonora me parece acorde al juego y esta muy bien realizada.
    - Cinemáticas espectaculares.
    - El sistema de construcción en cooperativo online me parece una mecánica bastante interesante y me parece que esta bien.

    Contras.
    - El juego es extremandamente lento, sus mecanicas no varian en todo el desarrollo del mismo, siempre es resolver misiones de llevar paquetes del punto A al B y cuando terminas esa mision ya te aparece otra con un nuevo encargo. Siempre es igual creando una monotonia en el juego que llega hasta querer no jugarlo mas.
    - El sistema de pelea (inclusive en su maxima dificultad) es muy sencillo, con solo hacer un contra ataque con la cuerda a las mulas ya los noqueas, ni hablar cuando podes desactivar sus radares que podes pasar caminando como si no existieran.
    - Tranquilamente en el juego se puede evadir siempre con mucha facilidad a los EV y en el caso de ser capturado, comicamente no es necesario pelear contra ellos uno puede correr y salir del area de batalla que el mini boss desaparecerá como si se hubiese cansado de perseguirte y eso es todo. Resuelto.
    - Las cinematicas si bien son de una calidad excelente son eternas, Muy largas. Inclusive el juego no lo termina resolviendo uno sino que se resuelve con una cinematica de... ATENCION 2:30hs.
    - El juego tiene muchos cortes de cinematicas largas como dije antes y eso hace perderse al jugador.
    - La IA del juego es MUY mala, los EV en dificultad maxima nunca pudieron hacerme daño, algunos enemigos disparan a cualquier lado estando en frente de sus narices y mas errores.

    Es probable que me este olvidando de alguna contra mas pero en general, es un juego que yo creo que primero se realizo todas las cinematicas contando la historia como si fuese un filme (O casualidad Kojima se esta acercando al mundo cinematogrifco en estos tiempo) y luego se adapto el juego en funcion a las cinematicas y no al reves dejando lisiada la parte jugable pero muy bien la parte visual y sonora del juego.

    El juego, como juego nunca me atrapo, nunca me divirtió y nunca me entretubo, Lo senti mas como un walking simulator que como un juego de accion, aventura como esta catalogado.    … Expand

    Un juego Sobrevaloradisimo, con una publicidad desproporcionada que no es acorde con lo que ofrece el juego. Han querido convertir este juego de nicho, dandole publicidad como si fuera un gran juego mainstream para inflar las ventas de un juego que no es para todo el mundo y aun asi han fracasado.

    -Los gráficos es lo mejor del juego, tiene gráficos de muy buena calidad, con mucho    Un juego Sobrevaloradisimo, con una publicidad desproporcionada que no es acorde con lo que ofrece el juego. Han querido convertir este juego de nicho, dandole publicidad como si fuera un gran juego mainstream para inflar las ventas de un juego que no es para todo el mundo y aun asi han fracasado.

    -Los gráficos es lo mejor del juego, tiene gráficos de muy buena calidad, con mucho detalle, sin embargo el mundo de death stranding esta vacio y carece de detalle. Demasiado monótono, demasiado grís. El mundo y los escenarios no tienen carísma.
    - El sonido es correcto, banda sonora ambiental, que acompaña d forma decente. Ninguna maravilla.
    - La historia tiene un buen planteamiento inicial, pero su desarrollo acaba volviendose predecible hacia la mitad del juego. Además se ve truncada y diluida por su lamentable jugabilidad. Los nombres elegidos para muchos personajes... malos y poco originales. Seguramente Kojima cree que esos nombres le dan epicidad a los personajes, pero los acaba convirtiendo en memes de megaman. Deathman, Die hard man, hearthman... vaya nombrecitos.
    - La jugabilidad es un horror. Tediosa, repetitiva, sin fundamento, sin ningún desafio y con poco interés. El mundo de death stranding esta llenísimo de misiones secundarias de reparto (el 90% )que aportan poco al disfrute del jugador.
    Nos limitamos poco más de ir de un punto a otro y hacer entregas de paquetes. Lo peor que he jugado desde No man´s sky.

    En pocas palabras, un simulador de repartidor que no merece mucha más atención.    … Expand

    Incredibly boring and pretentious game. There is menus and over complicated junk everywhere all for the act of walking. The game is walking , its that boring. The story is full of Kojimas grade 7 level of story telling, where he just rambles about stuff that sounds cool. Really didnt like this, its like an anti game.

    Another trash from Kojima. Most of products from this guy are mid quality with bad gameplay design. The only thing he's doing great is cutscenes because 85% of his games are cutscenes and QTE.

    Demasiado aburrido para mi gusto, de verdad no se recomiendo a nadie, la historia es una justificacion porque no tiene nada que ofrecer, graficamente es genial pues no se duda de esto siendo el motor grafico de guerrilla studios, un gran desperdicio de recursos en un solo titulo,

    Es increible la forma de tirar todo el potencial con una jugabilidad adurrida.

    Si, es hermoso visualmente pero esto es gracias a la falta de vida del propio entorno. La banda sonora es hermosa y me gusto mucho los momentos en los que esta empieza a sonar. Pero desgraciadamente esto es todo lo bueno que puedo decir sobre este juego.
    El juego es aburrido como ningún otro, se basa únicamente en    Una buena película para ver en familia pero pésimo como videojuego.
    Si, es hermoso visualmente pero esto es gracias a la falta de vida del propio entorno. La banda sonora es hermosa y me gusto mucho los momentos en los que esta empieza a sonar. Pero desgraciadamente esto es todo lo bueno que puedo decir sobre este juego.

    El juego es aburrido como ningún otro, se basa únicamente en llevar encargos de punto A a punto B, contando con algunos obstáculos que no presentan reto alguno, estos encargos son OBLIGATORIOS para poder avanzar en el juego. Cuando por fin enfrentas a enemigos y crees que habrá algo de acción llega la enorme decepción, ya que la IA es muy idiota, dejando irrelevante la mecánica de sigilo, ni siquiera en los combates contra Bosses el juego resulta divertido, basta esquivar y esperar a que aparezca un fantasma que te ayuda lanzándote munición o simplemente salir del perímetro del boss si ya estas harto de tan mala programación.

    El uso de escaleras y cuerdas no tiene sentido, simplemente con dejar apretados los gatillos pues pasar cualquier terreno corriendo sin caerte.

    La publicidad descarada de series y bebidas es descarada, y con la misma animación una y otra vez.

    Las misiones secundarias son lo mismo que las primarias, solo cambia el contenido de los paquetes, de drogas a un pizza o tonterías así.

    Death Stranding es muy repetitivo, tedioso, y aburrido al punto de que irónicamente vas a pedir a gritos una cinemática para pasar de una monotonía de juego (caminar, caminar y caminar presionando 2 botones para no caerte) a una monotonía visual (cinemáticas tras cinemática), y viceversa.

    A pesar de tener geniales gráficos, es lo único realmente destacable aparte de la banda sonora. Al final el juego se vuelve aburrido y tedioso, simplemente no te invita a seguir jugando por lo irrelevante y sosa que son las misiones principales y secundarias. El gameplay no es desafiante ni entretenido sin importar la dificultad seleccionada.     Purchased this game due to the hype created around it and was severely let down on all factors aside from graphics and cinematics. This game is as boring as it gets and just gets extremely boring after not even an hour of playing it. I would avoid any buyer from purchasing this game. Seriously save your money it isn't worth spending it on this.

    F. Not in for poor design. Art is great, story interesting, but the gameplay aspect is just weak and not innovative, was expecting gameplay richness, but got a film.

    When your mechanics hinge on something as mundane as walking, the most exciting part of your game is building a road, and you boast a melodramatic story of nonsensical characters you have Death Stranding and you have a boring game.

    I can understand people that love the game, but this game is way overrated by the media, which makes me think of their independance, seriously...

    I've been an avid gamer for 15 years. This is, without a doubt, the worst game I have ever played. It is also the first game I haven't finished. A few key failings;

    - The character movement is awfully clunky, especially when riding the reverse trike. This is a very fundamental failing for a game in which you spend 99% of your time walking or driving around. - The controls are clunky,    I've been an avid gamer for 15 years. This is, without a doubt, the worst game I have ever played. It is also the first game I haven't finished. A few key failings;

    - The character movement is awfully clunky, especially when riding the reverse trike. This is a very fundamental failing for a game in which you spend 99% of your time walking or driving around.

    - The controls are clunky, unintuitive and poorly explained.

    - The crying baby is immensely irritating.

    - This is the least compelling open-world game I've played. The world feels hollow and empty, and it isn't truly open - you regularly get funneled into areas with unavoidable hazards which is an incredibly artificial way to engineer a confrontation. Timefall also repeatedly occurs in the same places.

    - The game is plagued with cutscenes, prepare to sit through hours of them. Or skip them, many are essentially meaningless.

    - The game is also extremely linear and repetitive. It is essentially a giant fetch quest.

    One redeeming feature of the game is that it has a very unusual story, but this doesn't make it unique. Spend your money on the Witcher 3 or HZD, or literally anything else and save yourself the disappointment that is this game.    … Expand

    I have a high tolerance for giving games a chance but I couldn't even bring myself to finish this game. Literally all you do is deliver packages. Why the hell do I want to do that in a video game. Boring as all hell.

    I really don't know what to say about this game? For starters it is very boring with long cut scenes that make this more of a video game movie than an interactive and fun video game.

    Do yourself a favor and just watch a game-play walk through on youtube if you want to fall asleep at night.

    Kojima is a complete hack, they were right in firing him. I bought the PS4 Pro bundle with Death Stranding thinking this was gonna be a masterpiece, what a disappointment! At least the PS4 pro looks good, but I wish I could remove the death stranding logo from the front part.

With plot being written like an angsty teens anime fanfiction with lots of plot holes and some political believes of Kojima himself such as totally original "Orange man bad" and characters with the least settle names that anyone could think of, and yes their names do hint their motives. Don't you love when the game treats you like an idiot by giving you away everything you need to know about it but still wants you think it's super complex and sh*t? Mama, Fragile, Dead Man... great names i'm really sure it's fitting... for training bots in a multiplayer game. Any interaction with the characters in a long run is pointless do to the fact we're given away everything we need to know about them at the very start. Gameplay? It's absolutely attriocious, it's basically sandbox game created by someone who never seen a sandbox game and only heard about it from person who hates sandbox games. The whole delivery thing could be an interesting as side mission to earn some extras and not the main theme of the gameplay, people despise that word but it's very accurate represantation of this game. Walking simulator with very little of danger in the game world, reused environment and completly empty world. Sure say it's post-apocaliptic world but than again presence of Monster Energy Drink being so relevant and unaffected literally breaks that illusion. Currently the game is to put it simply forgotten and dead. So much for game of the decade and all of that echo-chamber of worshipping Death Stranding and Kojima.… Expand

An unique experience, a wonderful combination of brilliant acting, a moving story and one of the best soundtracks that I've experienced in games. It took me 6 months to beat the game because there were times n which I just wanted to deliver stuff and enjoy the landscapes. Some of those times I was rewarded with a new song, making me feel like Kojima put so much effort to motivate players in every little part of that world. The loneliness plays its part, but the online system served as a remind that there were others trying to help, to improve and rebuild that world.
    Special thanks to Mr. Mikkelsen, he gave life to such a tormented character and his final scene holding the baby and whispering a lullaby made me cry for real.
    A definitive experience on how violence shapes our downfall and how our connections (friends, family) can save us from particular nightmares.

    I'm about 15 hours in, and I will say that this is the only game I have said "trash game" among all the Ps4 games I have played. I am sorry that such firepower in reference to graphics and music loses all meaning in the face of repetitive missions, not skippable cutscenes, those of history poorly distributed and repetitive too, but what is worse is bureaucracy and theI will be honest, I am 42 years old and I have been playing since I was 12. I like games that have a story but not a story broken up in the eons. I am sorry that such firepower in reference to graphics and music loses all meaning in the face of repetitive missions, not skippable cutscenes, those of history poorly distributed and repetitive too, but what is worse is bureaucracy and the mountain of information on the screen also difficult to read and I see very well, a lot of useless information and a lot of important information taken for granted and not communicated, finally, boss fight badly done boring and annoying, in general the game is annoying and it drags from start to finish with its 2 hours of final scenes.     Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
