    Very dull gameplay, feels more like a interactive movie than anything else. Tedious gameplay elements made this a slog. Story is the only redeeming quality. But for a video game, it just isn’t fun, no other way to explain it.

    Imagine, we are travelling through all USA from West to East, and near the end when we are on the East they say-Sam, now just go back to the West. Just like that without a reason. No vehicles, no power-legs, nothing at all. Just super boring walking for maybe 4-5 hours or so. Because Kojima wants you to suffer.

    This game is REALLY repetitive and every time there is a cutscene it has to be try hard dramatic. It's not very good. I was hyped for this game as I love Kojimas games but this one is not so good. I repect change but I dont like doing repetitive things over and over while having to escort a baby around. There are a lot of things that I hate and love at the same time. I mentioned the babyThis game is REALLY repetitive and every time there is a cutscene it has to be try hard dramatic.     . I also couldnt believe the Norman Reedus ads for his show on AMC and Monster Energy drinks... Find it hard to believe Monster Energy drinks would be the last of the franchise wars.
    Kojima is just one crazy SOB, I dont like this game but I'm glade he finally got to make the game he wanted and I'm glad some people are enjoying it.. I work all day and I come home and feel like this game is work.

    The gameplay is also a thing I hate and love at the same time.. mostly hate it though.. I really think the point A and then point B thing was lazy. Seemed to me he focused more on making an art piece instead of a video game that is fun.. This game does have flashes of brillances here and there which make me very interested, once I do get interested Kojima pulls the rug from underneath me.. I want there to be a Death Stranding 2 because I think it's interesting but I would prefer less overly dramatic try hard cut scenes and fun gameplay.. Maybe make Death Stranding a theme name like Finally Fantasy and have a different story each time.

    While the concept of the world is unique and had me invested, the actual storytelling is paced terribly. It took 2 goddamn hours for the plot of the game to actually start. Not to mention the over the top symbolism thrown into the naming conventions. The main character is Sam Porter Bridges, because his name is Sam working as a porter for the company Bridges, a company who's motto is connecting people. Outposts are called Knots, and your goal is to connect these knots with a massive data connection called "Strands". Its so obnoxious that it delves right into being pretentious.

    Gameplay is not much better, the core gameplay loop revolves around getting one "KNOT" to another, with your main obstacle being the terrain. Thing is if you carry too much, you're more easy to lose your cargo just from stepping on a small rock. But if you travel light, you'll end up being forced to make repeated trips. And the actual trecks themselves are BORING! The only time something interesting happens is if you walk into what's known as BT territory; where Ghosts wander the ares, but it's painfully easy to avoid them. The other main enemy are MULE's who will frequently attack you, yet the combat comes down to easy button mashing to make quick work of them.

    Whenever you do beat a quest though, the game is eager to shower you with hollow praise, no better than a gatcha game that throws confetti everywhere to make the players feel like they're accomplishing something. All in all, this game is nowhere near as profound or innovate as it's director Hideo Kojima is propping in up to be.

    If you made the same game on a lower budget, and your name wasn't Kojima, would anyone play it? I'm not here to hate on the man, but this is the kind of narrative you would expect to see at a avante garde film festival. Nothing wrong with that, but gameplay clearly takes a backseat to the concept. If there were something that could have been done to make the game more fun, it wouldn't haveIf you made the same game on a lower budget, and your name wasn't Kojima, would anyone play it? I'm not here to hate on the man, but this is the kind of narrative you would expect to see at a avante garde film festival. If there were something that could have been done to make the game more fun, it wouldn't have been done if it interfered with Kojima's artistic vision. That's a problem for me. Maybe some people are into games-as-cinema, but essentially the gameplay is that I'm spending my time balancing a giant backpack for 20 minutes trudging from place to place, often with very little happening. As you get farther in, you get attacked more, and maybe it gets more intense when you reach areas beyond where I've seen. In any case, enjoy the sounds of a screeching baby strapped to your chest when you do encounter some danger. And don't expect a deep combat system. Expand

    The flaws that exist in Death Stranding are very similar to the flaws that existed in MGS5. There are interesting ideas interwoven with boring and repetitive game play.     The story is interesting, but the gameplay its so boring, and the melee fights so bad, that the game suffers a lot from that.

    Next time, spend more time in making a good gameplay and less in cinematics...

    Definitely should have taken the previous reviews into consideration & especially with IGN. It takes a very long time to do anything in this game as far as it being very repetitive. Definitely a title you should buy for $20 when it drops to that price. Graphically the game looks awesome, but does that make it a fun game?     You know all those boring fetch missions that you hate doing in other games? Death Stranding is nothing but fetch missions. It's so tedious to move around and deliver items. The story makes very little logic sense. The combat is absolutely dismal with the dumbest AIs who have horrible pathing and just sit around waiting for you to shoot them. It's a badly-designed game with a AAA budget.

    Just like many said, it was hyped as something but turned out to be something else. Even worse, the gameplay is boring and frustrating (deliver this, deliver that and hold R2/L2 otherwise ...).

    Interesting story bits here and there....but not a good game... Nobody bats 1.000 and this is a big whiff for me. Walking simulator to deliver to a hologram, cut scene, then do it again. If this game was on steam for 60$ by an indie developer, it would have nothing but negative reviews.

    Dont expect the story to make sense at any point. Starts off great, very well presented, hooks you into the game, bearing with the unique but shallow gameplay, just to let you down at the end. I expected something smart and entertaining and I was fed utter **** posing as art instead...

    **Not really exciting, not really scary, not really interesting--but generally just a depressing atmosphere? Check.

    **Seemingly endless amounts of cutscenes, even when performing routine actions? Check.

    **Artificially extended game length (Example: "Sam, before you can continue the main quest, you need to help these 5 meaningless NPCs with their fetch quests!")? Check. Another example: you're also forced to run around in circles throughout an empty environment during the credits for 30-40 minutes while the plot is explained to you -- because the plot is convoluted nonsense and Kojima *knows it -- and because it adds 40 minutes of "gameplay."

    **Generally BORING? Oh yeah, that's a check.

    Come on, Metacritic. Do better.

    This game is a 5 out of 10 at best. There are some good qualities: The graphics and acting are great. It's well-optimized on the PS4 and my experience has been entirely bug-free, even after playing through the entire game and completing almost all of the side quests it . It's ambitious and strives to be artful and make a deeper statement about humanity. But that's the most it has going for it.

    One could forgive poor gameplay if there existed an interesting and engaging story. One could forgive a poor story if there existed fun and interesting gameplay. However one cannot forgive an absence of both.

    Be honest would people love this game so much if it was somebody else besides the massively overhyped kojima that made this game?? because i really dont think so.. I watched all the cutscenes and the gameplay is non existent.. not even close to worth $60

    What a waste! The cast looked incredible, cutscenes/cinematics were looking sharp, but then comes the reality. How boring is this game? It’s incredible. Walking, walking, walking, stressing yourself over an unnecessarily complex inventory. That’s about it. And it is such a shame because the story and the universe behind this game were so interesting.

    I gave up trying to "play" this after around 6 WASTED hours. If you play games for fun: be warned and Stay away.

В целом, есть несколько неплохих идей и решений, однако, глупейшие геймдизайнерские ошибки сильно обескураживают. Наиграв в эту игру 52 часа и полностью пройдя всю сюжетную линию, понимаю, что из нее могла бы получиться хорошая игра, будь условно тот, кто ее реально развивал и дополнял контентом, дорабатывал механики и сделал меньше душного и бессмысленного гринда, которого здесь очень много и ты практически ничего за это не получаешь. Сюжет здесь явно не сильная сторона, ибо он подается в начале и очень концентрированно в конце игры, а еще сами ходы угадываются за счет многочисленных намеков на протяжении игры. Персонажи раскрыты плохо, мотивация не всегда ясна, а поступки в целом вроде логичные, однако, наполнены абсолютно бездарно написанными диалогами. Единственный кто был хорошо, так это Дайхардмэн. Его раскрыли в конце, но его диалоги были наиболее живыми и реалистичными. Также оскорбляет отношение к самому игроку в игре: тебя будто считают полным идиотом, объясняя элементарные вещи по 3-4 раза, а то и больше, будто ты в первый раз не понял или не заметил какой намек, поэтому этот намек нужно обязательно обсосать со всех сторон, чтобы уж самый "одаренный" понял.
    Если же вас смущают игровые ролики, стриммы или вообще всё, что вы видели, то не стоит приобщаться к игре. Если же вас устраивает перспектива узнать весьма неплохо проработанный лор, играть в игру без интересной основной механики занимаясь душнейшим гриндом, то в целом игра может затянуть. Мне лично понравилась как реализована взаимосвязь игроков при постройки некоторых строений. Их, конечно, мало, но реально доставляет тот факт, что ты кому-то помог или кто-то тебе. Это немного добавляет осмысленности к твоему геймплею.

It's got a ton of routine work, it's largely repetitive without a satisfactory return on that work. And it simply is "less than" in terms of what I was hoping for on this first venture post-Konami from Kojima-san. But as EDGE says, this feels like a foundation for future efforts, and if that's the case, perhaps I will revise my score when that next "installment" comes in. Expand

This story is a mess, most people don't want to slog through 20+ hours of bad story to get to decent game-play, and more bad story. The story leaves things unexplained to the point of obscurity, and it makes the game not enjoyable for normal people who don't have some sort of paid critic agenda.

    This game is damn near impossible to spoil though, so at least there is that! Timefall, baby batteries, the last ever FedEx worker in the apocalypse, and all the Monster energy drinks in the world do not a story make if it's just stuff in a video game. The Monster energy drink promos are almost as bad as the advertisements in the emoji movie; are we supposed to believe Monster is the only drink to survive the apocalypse? Monster is in this game so much I thought one of the cans might get up and talk to the player at some point and become a character.

    We need to "rebuild America" in this game because the afterlife is seeping through to our world somehow (how?), and there is rain that ages things. WTF is this story, seriously? It's so convoluted that even the characters in the game are still trying to figure it out, which isn't clever; it's infuriating.

    You're playing as an uncharismatic amazon delivery officer. His notable characteristics are monotone voice that express no emotions, likes to swear because sometimes it might sound badass, doesn't care about anyone else or the world for the plot purpose, never has a clue what's going on even if the plot gives clear hints, and looks like Norman Reeves. If you guessed Norman Reeves, you're correct... You're playing as that actor from Walking Dead tv series, how cool is that, right?

    Gameplay and plot:

    Your main goal is walking with packages on your suit, receive compliments from the delivery terminal about how amazing is the work you're doing, how they cannot believe you managed to deliver a 5kg package all by yourself, and of course a big thank you with s star sticker on your paints. You're the deliveryman that with powers combined will reunite the country by serving important people of this world, people like: Geologist, Engineer, Doctor, Craftsman, am... an elder? a film maker? amm... a cos-player? seriously? In this dangerous world, every delivery counts, that's why it's important to deliver only stuff that will serve the future of UIA, like... pizza delivery in time, nice.

    The second main goal of the game is to stare at holograms of lifeless corpses that throws at you unnecessary dialogues and obnoxious plot expositions that lead nowhere. Although most of that stuff is just filler that doesn't lead nowhere and makes no sense, its primary purpose is to make you feel smart. Along the way, the game is trying to give you some insight at what new knowledge Kojima got from wikipedia while working on the game. For instance did you know America comes from the name of famous Italian explorer Amerigo? Or that ame means soul in French? Oh, you did? But did you know that Kojima didn't know that? You see, you learned something new. You just got smarter, tell your friends.

    If you like to rewatch pointless long animations then you're for a treat. Standing up with packages, putting down packages, delivering packages, watching car coming out of garage, taking shower, going 1 and 2, waking up etc. All that can be skiped by pressing options, then pressing skip. By the time you're done with the game you'll be wondering how many hours have you wasted pressing buttons to skip those animations. If anyone is calling while Reeves is on a mission, he can't just pick up the phone and be on his way. You see, it's too complex for the legend while walking or driving with those packages.

    The less I talk about the BB mechanics, the better. You'll have enough of that... thing, on your own.

    With all these combined, you get a totally new genre: A kojima game

    Characters:

    Troy Baker - basically he's Ocelot from MGS, except his charisma is replaced with pervert behaviors of an old man that suffers of impotence. He puts Skullface disappointment to shame.
    Fragile - She's Fragile, but she's not that fragile(Genius play on words there, Kojima)
    Die-Hard man - Hologram that reads text from a TV prompt in the present. Wears a stupid mask with no purpose and using his nickname from hotmail era as his name as an official.
    Guillermo Del Toro - Reveals details that mostly lead no where, then repeats stuff you already know.
    That president lady - Kinda spoler'ish*** Two of last episodes she'll be talking more then you gf, so be prepared.
    Mama - I won't be spoiling her, her story ark is great.
    BB - thanks to that thing I'm never gonna have kids, I'd rather die alone... maybe join Bridges or Fragile express.
    Heartman - Worst superhero name and overused "like" joke by Kojima.
    Mads Mikkelsen - He's cool.

    Visuals and music:

    Ok. So for your information this part of review is taken from my review in parallel dimension, so don't be surprised.

    Wow, absolutely breathtaking. Beautiful landscapes. Those bosses, their visuals are creative, unique and breathtaking. The way they die, those animations, I just want to re-watch them again and again. It looks so surreal and yet believable, that I cannot be unimpressed. The way the environment changes from solid to black fluid is

    The music selection here is great. Just like the first announcement trailer, music fits in so nicely it feels like the part of the landscape and environment of the game. When you're walking and the music kicks in while the camera zooms out, is one of those moments you relax and can enjoy the journey, as if you reached Nirvana. Why would Kojima not allow us play music like on iPod in MGS4 or a cassette player in MGS5 is anyone's guess.

    Hours of play: 55 hours + writing this review, because I'm an idiot

    Clocked 20hrs and I've had enough. This game is weird and overly complicated for whatever it's trying to achieve, so many menu screens to click through, ui is really messy and unclear, vehicle driving is really clunky, narrative.. just didn't care for it nor knew what it was. The thing that was interesting was the world with the social element... which is the only positive thing I can sayClocked 20hrs and I've had enough. This game is weird and overly complicated for whatever it's trying to achieve, so many menu screens to click through, ui is really messy and unclear, vehicle driving is really clunky, narrative.. just didn't care for it nor knew what it was. The thing that was interesting was the world with the social element... which is the only positive thing I can say about this game in a sea of negatives.     Si revisan las criticas positivas se darán cuenta que lo mejor de Death Stranding, a lo que le dan más importancia, es tanto a la historia y a la calidad grafica. Esto es muy cierto. La historia te atrapa desde el principio, de lanza un cliffhanger tras otro para que te quede la duda de que significa o que representa tal cosa. Hasta ahí, no hay nada más. De ahi en fuera no hay fauna, no hay nada, el mundo no se siente vivo... En el caso de los enemigos, al principio te impresionan y te causan cierto impacto, pero una vez que aprendes a derrotarlos, algo que es muy al inicio del juego, el combate se vuelve algo sumamente tedioso que solo está puesto ahi para ralentizarte y alargar la vida del juego, mucho más de lo que de por si ya te lo alarga, mandandote de un lado para otro entregando cosas, por que si, el juego va de entregar cosas, de ser un mensajero, no haces nada más. Te dan lo tuyo y vas y lo dejas, y donde lo dejas te dan mas cosas para entregar de donde venias, y así una y otra vez. No es un juego divertido ni entretenido, es un juego que te mantiene enganchado a una historia que quieres conocer, pero el gameplay es tedioso, aburrido y extremadamente repetitivo. Yo le tenía unas grandes expectativas, lo esperé desde que lo anunciaron, Hideo Kojima tiene grandes ideas, pero al parecer se le ha ido la holla. Lamentablemente a la prensa experimentada ya se le compra con cualquier cosa, y solo porque es Kojima le inflaron la nota de manera increible.     The gameplay is tedious and when it isn't tedious it is boring, systems upon systems upon systems upon systems. There is boot degradation, there is rain that makes things grow old, there is a cargo balancing there are systems to stop Norman Reedus from falling over, it is just system after system after system. None of which enhance the fun of the game, they are just there because Kojima was allowed free rein to unleash and realize every little pretentious whim he had.

    I appreciate what they did with the social aspect of the game but it counteracts the feel of the game. The game is meant to represent a dead world, you are meant to feel alone and stranded. A lone man bringing America back together. That is bit hard to **** do when there are bridges, watchtowers and other **** popping up all over the place.

    The game is slow enough of as it is but then the game throws BTs at you in increased frequency as you play, forcing you to go even slower.

    This game is a perfect example of what happens when you give a guy like Hideo Kojima free rein of a game.

    I will give it a 4 because the graphics, motion capture, story telling (not the story itself) and general quality are average for the AAA market these days but the gameplay, tedium and systems are all below average quality.

    Lo horrible: el juego tiene una historia tan compleja que no lo entenderá la mayoría que lo juegue, tendrían que re jugarlo y eso es algo que el 98% que lo haya terminado no lo hará, para entender la historia, un pésimo videojuego que es entretenido si mientras lo juegas estás con un amigo al lado, si lo juegas tú solo mueres de aburrimiento

    And yeah, to all those who defend the game by saying how beautiful it is.. Decima was developed as a result of 7 years of hardwork by Guerilla Games.

    The bad: Boring story (I did see in the movie The Postman by Kevin Costner, 1997, Warner) so you can clearly see where Kojima's “creativity and inspiration” comes from. Boring gameplay. The game has auto-save but does not let you record progress if you are in the middle of a delivery mission. Fast travel points and teleportation do not serve to shorten the path when you have an order to deliver. The weapons arrive already having spent at least half of the game. Fights against bosses and mini-bosses are very simple. The last trailer was deception as it took the best scenes and put them to generate hype, but the result has already been seen that it is not that frantic all the time. The ending is a two-hour video, really? During the game they tell you that "human beings are isolated in cities" you get to the cities and you don't see any humans, do they live in the clouds like the Jetson or underground like the Morlocks? All cities are the same. Sam Porter in the original version without patches had the same balance of a rag-doll, Sam fell by any road that was not minimally level.

    The Meh: the game did not come out and already had a patch that corrects the bad balance of Sam Porter. During the press analysis phase there were mysterious players who could only say that they were Beta-testers or “a control group” since they were putting structures like zip lines, highways, roads, bridges and outpost again and again, restoring them to that did not degrade, but to make a sad camp or tower you require a considerable amount of credits and they made bases and even roads, they were users with many almost unlimited resources to build. Carts, Rover and motorcycles only serve on worlds connected to the Internet where they have created highways or roads

    El tiempo que tienes q invertir en el, para mi, simplemente no vale la pena, con el trabajo y las obligaciones que muchos tenemos, no se puede desperdiciar 40 o 50 horas un juego que de las más de 12 horas que llevo jugadas son de lo peor que he visto en mucho tiempo.

    Las mecánicas son horribles y están completamente rotas, el desafío es nulo, el juego es aburridísimo, el menú son lo peor, la historia es de lo que menos puedo hablar, aunque la amenaza es estar a la altura del resto ... muy mal.

    Lo que no se es bajo que autoridad Hideo Kojima se piensa q le puede tomar el pelo así a la gente, no solo el dinero y los 60 pavos q vale, que que ese es otro tema ...

    Sino las horas de tiempo que tienes q invertir en este juego, esta claro que por lo que él logró después, en el último tramo parece que mejora (aunque no pondría la mano en el fuego por ello).

    Si no os queda ningún otro juego importante de esta generación, os sobra tiempo, dinero, y ten mucha gente jugadlo, de lo contrario salid huyendo, podéis hacer cosas mucho mejores con vuestro tiempo que jugar al Death Stranding.

    Anyway, I praise that Kojima dared to try to do something different instead of sticking to the convencional and I hope others creators dare to do the same.

    Nerveless, as in the meaning of “trial and error” where you try and face the possibility of error, this was a failure.

    You have to admire the game for taking risks and trying something different. However, risks don't always pay off. This game should come with a warning sign: "if you dont have a LOT of free time don't buy this game" . I really cant see busy people playing this game. I mean if you have one hour per week to play video games then you really dont want to spend that hour on walking or seeing a cutscene.

    First and foremost It is a walking sim. The presentation and actors are great and the world looks beautiful but there is very little actual gameplay fun to be had here. Hideos intentions are honourable verging on sickly but the point persists that video games must be fun and there is very little to be found in DS. I would urge players to note the amount of times they have thought 'just let me play the game'. And from past experience we know that games that do this lack gameplay - MGS4 for example. At this point Hideo should just go and make movies because the severe amount of bloated pointless garbage in this game renders gameplay an afterthought. It is charming: the cast are great and a few terrible lines aside its a fairly solid (sorry) story. But it is a lot less smart than it believes itself to be. It is everything questionable/bad about Hideos games and please note i am saying this as a fan of 20years and having completed DS and nearly Platinum'd it. It is blatant that Kojima has played and attempted to ripoff games like Journey and Firewatch. DS is a big budget faux-hollywood version of these games. Isolation is a theme throughout but upon beating the game it feels more like an excuse for foisting an empty world on us. I will never condone konamis practices but after experiencing DS i can understand why they kept tabs on the Kojimaisms in all the games hes released. This is not an MGS2-esque prophecy that will be relevant in a decade - it is a knee-jerk pander piece trying to cash in on modern political paranoia. What many will refuse to admit is that after making a series based on the Patriots system of control you spend DS building one yourself amid claims that it will 'bring da people togevur'. The formula for the gameplay we do get is 'Go from A to B dodging ghosts or humans - meet thank you hologram - rinse and repeat' and it is not good enough. I cannot tell you how many times my thumb ached from holding the same direction for minutes on end. A total lack of dynamism. It is honestly an amazon simulator and any majesty the world had evaporates when you can build roads through it. I have lost a lot of faith in my usual trusted reviewers because theyre calling this game a 9+/10 and that is nowhere near true.
    Hideo is a genius and the world sorely needs his games. But this is barely a game. I think we have reached the point where he should just go and make movies because this game is an afterthought attached to one.

We get ourselfs some one dimensional side characters with such a creative names such as Deadman, Mama and Fragile which if anything sound like a names for bots in multiplayer games. And yes their names do hint their motivations. What? You thought the characters will have real names or at least misleading nicknames? Too bad, this game was only made to look intelligent, but in reality it's pretty straight foward with it's ideas and intents to the point of explaining us everything before the said things are even properly introduced to us, we don't get time to learn about the characters, we already know everything we need to know about them, making any interactions with them look trivial.
    Of course critics will give it high scores, most of them are already well paid by the creator and those who got confused by the plot will simply give it high rating to make sure community isn't pissed off and doesn't want them be fired or something(example: several years ago some reviewer gave GTA V 9/10 and fanboys wanted that reviewer to be fired good times really...)
    Gameplay wise it's very weak, repetive almost identical missions, any obstacles encountered in the game are way too easy to avoid and defeat, making presence of BT's and Mules look pointless. The world of the game is an empty void.
    Graphically looks a lot better then loads of crap that was Days Gone but it's not saying much or anything for that matter, it looks alright at best and painfully medicore at worst with reused environment. The game was promising with Kojima's first attempt to make video game on his own, but it feels like Kojima just surrounded himself with yes-man and ignored every single flaw of the game, he even went so far to call it a new genre while in reality it's just another linear sandbox game.
    Video games can be an art but they should be cohesive as games before anything else, otherwise we'll be getting vanity projects with out any substence.

    I don't get it. The first few hours were amazing. I was so onboard with this game. But the next 30 hours have been tedious, pointless and empty. I just hate playing this game. I can't see how anyone could enjoy this. Sorry... I have tried so hard to like it.

    No e un juego para dirvertirse sino para aburrirse como nunca al inicio y luego de una 25 0 30 horas ponerse un poco interesante in dejar de ser aburrido, siento lástima por quien lo compre esperando algo innovador que emocione y divierta, no lo encontrarán en este juego pero para las peronas que disfruten de las películas se le es recomendable con el modo fácil porque el gameplay no vale nada

    A game where the gameplay is actually tedious meaningless 0/10 fetchquests is not playable.
    Your successes, failures, deaths, decisions have 0 impact on the story.
    They should have just made a movie. If you want a real intense survival horror with dark atmosphere and philosophy involved then just play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly. It's even free.

    The game play mainly consists of the parts of movies you don't get to see, like if The Lord of the Rings films happened in real-time and you had to experience and endure every single step Frodo took, just for the sake of world building, immersion, and realism.

    Underneath the melodramatic, over the top and sometimes downright silly story and frustratingly dull game play there is a decently touching narrative if you have the patience and will to push yourself through, but the eight or so hours of somewhat interesting fiction do not make up for the forty plus hours of arduous gaming.

    We all knew this would be an incredibly polarizing title and in a sense maybe Kojima accomplished exactly what he wanted in making such an ambitious project that will spark more discussion and debate than any video game in the past decade or maybe ever.

    I respect the effort, resources, ambition, and scope of this project. I believe this is a necessary and important game within the confines of the modern video games industry, and I really hope this manages to inspire more creativity, risk-taking and passion from developers.

    A decent overall experience, but a poor video game.

It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one.
