    A fun game for short bursts of deadly fun killing zombies with all kind of silly weapons that you can find allover the map. You can even combine different objects to make special weapons, like a lawnmower to cut off those ugly zombie faces!

    Not a game to be taken seriously, as you could expect. But fun nonetheless!     Not a game to be taken seriously, as you could expect. But fun nonetheless! It's a bonus that in this rendition of the game you can play the game without time limit (which a lot of players complained about in Dead Rising 1 and 2) and explore the environment freely. There is still the mall and outside to run around, and there is a new area added to this game. You can also join another online player's game so you can share in the fun (and revive each other when you die).

    The game might get a bit too repetitive and after a while you have seen all it has to offer. However, it's always nice to unwind after a hard day at work or at school, killing masses of stupid, slow zombies with anything you can get your hands on: beer bottles, computer screens, light sabers, a broad sword, a football... and you can also get clothes from the abandonned stores and dress up in a tank top and skirt, a rugby player, a cowboy, a biker...

    One thing that I found a bit annoying is that you have to find a toilet to save your game, and sometimes you simply have no idea where it is located. And if a zombie kills you, you have to restart at your latest save point and you loose all your progress. If you can buy this game for a low budget price and if you like silliness, I would recommend it. I wouldn't pay full price for it though,    … Expand

    Pretty much the same as Dead Rising 2 besides the new Uranus Zone and Sandbox Mode, which is great.

    While Dead Rising 2: Off The Record outdoes its predecessor in terms of raw playability and the amount of content it offers, it’s just not as satisfying. Both Dead Rising 2 and 3 understand that these are games are fundamentally about helping people in a terrible situation, and they’re richer because of it. Frank West’s jokey manner fits the sandbox mode well, but his detached, ironic worldview doesn’t land the way the rest of the series does. In the end, this effort feels like a minor sidenote before the series put the best pieces together for Dead Rising 3.

    When Dead Rising 2: Off the Record functions properly, I have a blast with it. The story is nothing memorable, but the toybox that is Fortune City allows for all sorts of emergent storytelling that I'll remember for some time. I'm hoping that Frank's return in Dead Rising 4 fares better.
