Sep 18, 2020Great visual design, but the game just isn't fun to play. To compensate for its short length, the designers bumped the difficulty through the roof. This makes the gameplay repetitive and tedious. It took me 740 deaths to make it through and I was glad when it was over. Shame, because it really is gorgeous to look at.

Jul 30, 2022Cuphead varies between fun bosses, and bosses that are so cheap you have no chance to learn how to improve.

Aug 31, 2021With such a well-respected and well-known title such as Cuphead, there really isn't a lot that can be said for the PS4 port that hasn't already been stated since its original release in 2017. A fiendishly difficult platformer with a great soundtrack and beautiful level design and aesthetics awaits any gamer that loves a challenge, and is happy to put the hours in. Sit in a darkened room, avoid any and all of those pesky real-world interruptions, and take on a telepathic giant carrot. Ace.

Playstation Official Magazine UKAug 22, 2020Despite an occasional mean streak, when Cuphead plays fair it’s as much a treat for the thumbs as it is for the eyes– and with these distinctive, cartoon-inspired looks that’s no small feat. [Issue#179, p.78]

Aug 16, 2020Cuphead for PS4 doesn't add anything to what we already have on other platforms, but it is still a very unique experience with addicting gameplay, solid boss fights, super fun coop play and great music.
