    This game gives me a cool story, adventure, and good gameplay.
    I mentioned the times when I was 10 years old and I played in Sega. Guys(developers) thanks for beautiful spending time with the game. I am waiting for new games from u!

    It's a blast from the past. This game rides the nostalgia wave and does so quite well. Full of fun references to 80ies pop culture and old-school gaming this is an interesting game.
    One thing it brings back to us: difficulty. The mini games are challenging and as they say on the internet: git gud. I've enjoyed my roughly five hours of game play so far but was infuriated and about to toss    It's a blast from the past. This game rides the nostalgia wave and does so quite well. Full of fun references to 80ies pop culture and old-school gaming this is an interesting game.
    One thing it brings back to us: difficulty. The mini games are challenging and as they say on the internet: git gud. I've enjoyed my roughly five hours of game play so far but was infuriated and about to toss my controller twice already (and thus reminded of my younger days- aaah nostalgia...)

    Crossing Souls is a 9 hour long beat em up adventure platforming game where you play as 5 kids at the start of their summer vacation in California during the late 80s… The game starts out as you playing as chris, going out to gather your friend to meat up with your little brother kevin at the tree house, he has something to show you..     Crossing Souls is a 9 hour long beat em up adventure platforming game where you play as 5 kids at the start of their summer vacation in California during the late 80s…
    The game starts out as you playing as chris, going out to gather your friend to meat up with your little brother kevin at the tree house, he has something to show you..
    Turns out this thing is a dead body, but you find an object on this body that matt figures out can allow them to ghosts…
    Only problem is… of course the military is after this..
    Which takes you on a crazy adventure of saving your town and stopping the military from getting this into their hands…
    This game actually has a very heavy narrative focus..
    The writing and story telling is great..
    The actual gameplay itself though at times can be a bit lacking..
    You can control all 5 characters, all with their own uses in the world..
    However I feel like theyre all pretty under used..
    As the focus is on combat rather than traversing levels until later in the game.. only problem is.. these sections don’t really utilize the different abilitites these characters have..
    you have chris for climbing, matt for long jumps using his jetpack, charlei for flinging yourself across the map which only happens like 4 times the entire game.. big joe more moving objects and kevin.. kevin cant really do anything for now.. but will later be able to go through walls and portals…
    and again,, these different abilities from chaarcters are highly underused…
    inbetween these moments is a lot of stamina based combat..
    you have to manage your stamina to not become vulnerable in combat.. enemies do drop health but they do crazy damage…
    the combat is definitel a challenge..
    And there are pick ups around the world for health and stunning enemies, and later bombs…
    The progression of this story is actually surprisingly immersive, every chapter feels fresh and mixes the gameplay up,
    Sometimes it just straight up beat em up… other times its puzzles, or solving a mystery…
    There are also a couple mini games thrown in there to mix up the gameplay as well…
    Though these mini games aren’t really fun.. theyre just there..
    The game doesn’t ever really start to slow down until the final 2 chapters where the game just starts to feel like its over staying its welcome and youre smacked with the 2 least interesting levels in the entire game.
    My biggest complaints with this game however is the difficulty spike at the end… the final section feels near impossible compared to the rest of the game… and the platforming overall here is just not fun, made worse by the fact that checkpoints are all over the place..
    Every character has health attached to them.. and there are no refill stations and characters don’t faint.. if one dies they all die and its back to a checkpoint or the last savepoint…
    Most of the time this is fine…
    But randomly dying deeper into a level can put you futher back than dying somewhere in the middle..
    causing you to have to redo all of this games unfun clunky and stiff feeling platforming, that by the way also runs on stamina if youre using the jetpack…
    Disappearing platforms make this stop and go extra frustrating.. and the 3d platforming style on a 2d plane doesn’t help.. especially when youre platforming as keving for example.. its nearly impossible to tell if youre over a platform or not…
    But these issues feel small compared to what this game does rogjt
    Crossing souls is still a really good game with a great story
    Its addictive, its fresh, its challenging, and will have the 80s and 90s kids feeling a bit nostalgic

    Crossing Souls seems to be very Netlfix's Stranger Things inspired or rather inspired by the things Stranger Things was inspired by. The plot is set in the 80's focused on a group of kids doing 80's kids things with strong supernatural elements to it. Pixel art graphics and music completes the experience and the atmosphere of the game is superb.     Crossing Souls tries to mix various elements into one game, so there are some adventure elements mixed with puzzle platforming and beat-em-up gameplay. Problem is Crossing Souls seems to be so nostalgic about the story none of those seem to be excellent to suck me in. All of the dialogue is displayed on the screen for you to read and that how most of the story is told with a few exceptions of animated cutscenes.

    The plot is not complicated - after all the main characters are a bunch of kids and all of the supernatural phenomena doesn't need a lot of explaining. Although the dialogues are short and to the point, they happen very very often resulting in taking control away from the player on frequent occasions and giving it back to do something that isn't very compelling.

    The player gets to control five different characters, each of them having different skill. One of them can climb on certain spots, one can hover over wide gaps, one can dash, one can move a heavy object and there's also a boy who can walk through closed doors (but not walls). You can switch between them anytime and it should provide variety in puzzle-platforming elements but it doesn't. Puzzles are not very elaborate and usually, it's very clear what to do and which playable character should be used in a specific spot. Combat is utilizing Souls' series stamina system (hence the name?), which doesn't improve combat sequences at all or even makes them any hard - they play as any other beat-em-up game. Stamina also applies to characters using their skills, which doesn't make it more challenging either.

    There are some arcade minigames as well and they're as mediocre as the rest of the gameplay. The only thing that Crossing Souls seems to do right is storytelling and audiovisual style. But it fails as a video game as it has nothing new or interesting to offer with its gameplay.    … Expand

    The game play quickly becomes repetitive, switching between characters is done in the least imaginative way possible. The dialogue is clunky -- come to think of it -- the writing in general feels about as smooth as I imagine a five hour ride in square wheeled Canadian car would feel. I can't put into words how unpolished the    I really wanted to enjoy this, but it is completely hollow.

    I can't put into words how unpolished the dialogue feels. The "conversations" between characters are so forced and accomplish so little that they could have gone without identifying who is speaking and the game wouldn't really even change at all. Character development is thrown out the window in lieu of just slapping the player of the face with a word bubble.

    The character design is awesome, i love the art style. The level design is awful.

    This game more closely resembles an idea for a game than it does a complete product.    … Expand

    Playing this game I felt like when I was 12, playing in my Megadrive, dying in bosses, learning mechanics, exploring every corner of the maps because I have to see all, to check all, to get all rewards. Awesome game, awesome history. You must play it entire, great ending too ;-)

    It wasn't engaging enough and I couldn't play more than 30 minutes at a time. The story wasn't strong enough to stand on it's own and the rest of the systems weren't enough to make up the difference. Combat plays a big roll but didn't change between the first few minutes and the last.

    this silly game has been made by a bunch of idiots. The gameplay sucks, the view for the jumping sessions is a pain in the butt.
    And for the record, when you put collectibles in a game, you have to make a select chapter option.

    Do not buy this game, even at 1$

    Nostalgia pura, jogo simplesmente incrível, o tratamento que deram para o jogo em uma grande historia, para o pessoal anos 80, sim o jogo e obrigatório, um final que nao tem como evitar as lagrimas com a grande trilha sonora de timecop1983.

    The 80s asthetic in combination with the pixel art visual style makes this games very pleasing on the eye. At times I found the platforming and boss fights challenging and a bit frustrating, but still doable. Overall the story evoked unexpected emotions with me as it drew to it's conclusion. I would recommend this game to anybody with a love of well-rounded indie titles that can be wrappedThe 80s asthetic in combination with the pixel art visual style makes this games very pleasing on the eye.     Crossing Souls loves the 1980s. Perhaps a little too much, as the game is so busy trying to stay true to this decade and all its cult classics that an identity of its own takes a backseat.

    That's a shame, because the game actually has all the right ingredients to offer a fun, charming adventure that's reminiscent of a pink hybrid of the Goonies, Stranger Things, and Far Cry: Blood    Crossing Souls loves the 1980s. Perhaps a little too much, as the game is so busy trying to stay true to this decade and all its cult classics that an identity of its own takes a backseat.

    That's a shame, because the game actually has all the right ingredients to offer a fun, charming adventure that's reminiscent of a pink hybrid of the Goonies, Stranger Things, and Far Cry: Blood Dragon. However, it's the moments of frustration, horrid characters and poorly written dialogue that stand in the way of Crossing Souls. It certainly doesn't help that games like Oxenfree or Life is Strange: Before the Storm only recently showed how fantastic coming of age games can be.
    Crossing Souls is certainly an entertaining, nice pastime, especially for nostalgics and fans of the 80s. However, it doesn't even come close to matching all the movies and games it references.    … Expand

    For those of you with strong attachments to the 80s, Crossing Souls is a sure cure for your nostalgia; for those without, Crossing Souls simply feels like a game that's trying too hard.

    Crossing Souls is a fine game that successfully does what it needs to do, but it does only that. There is much potential in the gameplay that sadly doesn't reach its full potential. This makes Crossing Souls just an average game.
