    Played these guys game last year and it was good fun but this year they really step it up!! Best game they have made yet, Love It

    Very much enjoyed my time playing Costume Kingdom, I found these guys from Marlons stream! Really humble dev with a great product!

    I love the combat system in this game and the Halloween theme I'm a huge fan of Pokemon and Costume Quest series and when I found out this was coming out to PS4 i couldn't wait. Today Costume Kingdom came out and it exceeded my expectations .it is well done from the music to the visuals. Well worth the money for 10$ its the best Indie Game i have played in awhile

    But is it a Trick or a Treat? .. *Spoiler alert* It's a treat Gameplay - 9/10 Halloween Turned based action! On your way to becoming Apex Champion and save Monkchester, you must defeat various Gym leaders throughout your journey. There are 3 Apex cups in total. Defeating each Apex cup will unlock a new zone with new characters, new    HALLOWEEN IS HERE! AND SO IS COSTUME KINGDOM

    Gameplay - 9/10 Halloween Turned based action!

    On your way to becoming Apex Champion and save Monkchester, you must defeat various Gym leaders throughout your journey. There are 3 Apex cups in total. Defeating each Apex cup will unlock a new zone with new characters, new quests, and new Hallowmon.

    Each Apex Cup has a Cost CANDY!
    The player must pay the fee of entry to challenge the apex cup by either completing quests, defeating battles, or trick or treating houses to earn candy. The trick or treat mechanic is pretty cool as you approach a house to trick or treat the player must press O on their controller which will initiate a small cutscene zooming in to the door opening of the house your trick or treating. The controller will start vibrating in sync with the trick or treat knock on the door which made me feel like I myself was really was trick or treating. You will be greeted by either a TRICK Cypher squad goon appears from the behind the door which initiates a battle or a TREAT and the player is greeted by an adult dressed in a Halloween costume wishing you a happy Halloween giving you candy saying some cheesy line.

    The quests offer great candy and can range from helping an NPC finding there missing Hallowmon, to fighting bullies and completing bounty boards, defeating a certain Hallowmon in a specific area. Some of these quests will unlock new Hallowmon so they are worth doing!

    Each Hallowmon in Costume Kingdom is unique
    There are 5 types of element types in the game.
    Fire, Water, Ground, Air, and Mythic.

    Water types beat fire, Fire beats Ground and so on

    Each Hallowmon can level to level 20 and every 5 levels they will unlock a new move. I had so much fun leveling up my team and lost track of the time fighting every goon I could! Choosing the right Hallowmon to use in battle is key for success in this game. There are 11 different Hallowmon to collect and level up. But Hallowmon are not only good for battle as they offer the player COSTUMES
    each costume comes with a unique ability i.e tortos costume will change the players' appearance to a turtle and give him access to special XP wells throughout the map. or Crocos costume will let the player ride on top of a crocodile back while hitting the water. Some of these abilities are passive so once you have them unlocked you can change your costume back to your favorite.

    Story -Defeat the bad guys "Cipherr Squad Goons" save Halloween and win the Apex Cup
    For everything I do like about Costume Kingdom the story felt unmomentous. the story of the game is told as you progress throughout the title via knowledge trees open a book and a dialogue screen which tells you the story of the game via a narrator you can skip this scene leaving the tree and often I found myself doing. you will encounter posters that will give the player history of the cup and diaries which can tell you more about characters in the game. Far from terrible and far from great 6/10

    Visuals - Overall the game looks great the toony aesthetics leaves the player entrailed in the world of Monkchester .Each zone you go to be it, Starks Pond, The Park, or The Forrest all feel unique from the other. What I really enjoyed while playing the game different battle arenas and scenery I would discover along my journey. When I was in the forest i ran into a deer! And while Jumping on a fire hydrate in the street I found a Hallomon Owly sitting on top of a street pole small details like this go a long way in making the world feel alive and made my experience playing this game very enjoyable.
    From the Halloween decore on the houses to the characters you will meet on your journey. Pirates ninjas, miners, vampires, witches you name it this game looks great on the eye while playing. The Ui and battle system especially stand out for this. My favorite area to see in this game was the Hallowzoo as i could back relax listen to peaceful music and watch it grow as i got further into the game and bought more attractions for it with my hard-earned. The bearibou cave was incredible i could see a family of adorable bears 100% recommend unlocking this attraction . There are some cool trails you can buy for your character from Lemi the shopkeeper like feathers which will follow you as you run! or even flames! the cooler ones tend to be more expensive with candy. You can also change the visuals of the game via a retro shader mode and different hallowmon color portals which change all of the hallowmon colors both of these features add great depth and replay value to a fun game with lots of options 8/10.

    It took me 2 hours to complete Costume kingdom and I had no bugs or glitches during my playthrough. For 10$ This game is well worth the time and money and id highly recommend to everyone who loves Pokemon and Halloween.

    Moment of silence for thoose who haven't found this gem yet. I haven't been as excited for Halloween since I was a kid until I played Costume Kingdom.

    This world doesn't need a hero, it needs games like Costume Kingdom. Be ready for an unforgettable experience and say Goodbye your social life.

    Really, just about the only thing Costume Kingdom has going for it is that there’s no Pokémon on the PS4 (though, I’ll note, there is a Digimon game or two). So if you’re insane and want to experience Pokémon without going to the trouble of buying a Switch, I guess this is the game for you? That, however, would be an absurd course of action, since Costume Kingdom is very, very bad. Save yourself the trouble, splurge on a Nintendo system, and just get Pokémon instead, because this game certainly isn’t worth anything.

    Stratton Studios succeeds in creating a fun Halloween game with Costume Kingdom. The trick-or-treat and costume mechanics are inventive, while the battles heavily lift from the Pokemon formula. The story and world feel a bit shallow, making the overall experience a bit forgettable. Costume Kingdom is a sweet treat to have for the spooky month of October.
