If it were not so glitched, I would probably give it an 8 because I have liked it. The storyline is interesting enough and, strictly speaking, it could be very enjoyable for the lovers of 2D survival horror indie games. More importantly, the PS4 version (at the very least) of Claire is highly glitched, which almost obliges you to beat the whole game in just one sitting without saving (or you may get your difficulty automatically and irreversibly changed to Nightmare) and can truly exasperate you when you have no flaslight nor match just because you happened to die and the game does not feel like loading those two key objects anymore.

Horrible bugs ruin an otherwise nice and enjoyable gameplay concept.

In the version 1.04 of the game, loading a savefile in the normal difficulty will automatically change it into the highest available difficulty 'nightmare', where getting from A to B gets quite a lot more difficult...great. Apparently this was fixed around March 2018 in the North American PSN stores, but guess what? As

As of 22nd Jan 2019 (!!), the EU PSN store version of the game still is at v1.04 and the glitch/bug continues to exist. This makes the game unplayable for me.

Too bad! If it was bug-free, I would have liked the game, I think. I usually like such horror games, which don't rely (too much) on jump scares or gore for shock effect.

There is a bug that prevents you from playing comfortably, since it suddenly changes you to nightmare difficulty, a shame because otherwise the game is quite good, it has some collectibles, several endings, It also gives a bad vibe, which is what matters in this game

Finding all the conclusions will require at most a couple of evenings: in case you are indefatigable fans of the horror genre, you could even give her a chance.

The focus in Claire however will always be the narrative, and it’s that aspect where the game shines brightest. While the gameplay and production values appear weak at first, it’s refreshing when all the design choices can be justified through the story and work in favour of it. Claire: Extended Cut is a great experience which really takes the issues of trauma and guilt seriously. While Hailstorm Games does at times get carried away with moralising, the overall story is effective and comes with enough twists and turns to cover the admission price.

Claire: Extended Cut is a title that fails to live up to the greatness that obviously inspired it.
