Fantastic! This one really takes me back to a golden age of gaming. Really pleased they brought these back. Now please bring back the DS games. :)

As a long time fan of castlevania series i'm extremely happy with this collection of the game boy advance games and dracula x, konami got it right. Now let's hope they release the tree castlevanias games from the nintendo ds.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Total nostalgia, love them and the new rewind function is so useful!! I hope they add the DS games as a DLC Expand

Worth it for Aria of Sorrow and Circle of the Moon alone. Dracula X has some boppers on its soundtrack (closely related to Rondo of Blood). I'm hoping they will do something for the DS games. The touch screen functionality really isn't required for them.

The DS ones (aka the good ones) that won't happen, it would take some fiddling with the .roms, not only dumping them into an emulator. Those ones are pretty much garbage, far inferior to SOTN. Those ones are pretty much garbage, far inferior to SOTN. Circle of the moon has some charm, but overall just too clunky. Harmony of dissonance is a mindfking huge map without teleports or markings, with bugged monsters and an insane difficulty spike towards the end (getting 2-shot by anything, having to hit 6-10 times each monster), without farming (1xp per enemy), block, dodge, anything. Like a crappy soulslike before its time. Aria of sorrow is the beggining of the good ones, but still very unbalanced. You need to stack essential souls and get weapons at the beginning, not at the end when you find the dropchance rings. And the natural dropchance is what 0.1% ? Anyway, odd, crappy gameplay and gamedesign avoid. I'd say 'old' but SOTN is older and still amazing Expand

Castlevania Advance Collection is a great nostalgic experience, a pure 2D action adventure compilation.

As for collection bonuses, there’s an encyclopaedia for each that gives you important details about the enemies, items, and powers in each of the three good games. There’s also a rewind function. Basically, you can go back a bit if you’ve messed something up, or if you took a wrong turn and can’t be bothered to backtrack. The Castlevania Advance Collection is 75% absolutely excellent, and that’s more than enough for us. Now, can we get the DS collection too? [Issue#7, p.90]

Four slices of Castlevania with slightly different toppings. Aria of Sorrow is the jewel of a crown enriched by several extras and options. Simply irresistible.
