Dec 8, 2021Very interesting idea and smooth gameplay. Settings and objectives are a bit repetitive, but I would still give this a solid rating, if it didn't crash 25% of the time when you try to transition to another area. After the fifth crash, I uninstalled this. Unacceptable lack of quality control.

Nov 5, 2021Carrion presents you with an opportunity to take the reigns of an invading monster, and it delivers on all fronts with visceral gore and effects that translate vividly even through its pixelated style. The lack of a map combined with navigational and interaction clumsiness make for a more cumbersome Metroidvania formula, but the payoffs of gameplay and exploration outweigh the issues that Carrion presents.

Nov 1, 2021Carrion offers up a unique spin on the old Metroidvania concept but is let down by maze-like levels and unsatisfying combat. There's still some fun to be had but ultimately we found ourselves getting more and more irritated with the level design and constant backtracking.

Oct 31, 2021Despite the gameplay and level design being pretty middling, we still think this game is worth a spin. It’s all about the atmosphere, and the organism itself, both of which are rousing successes and worth the price of entry alone.
