    A great return back to the origins for the franchise,the gameplay is very similar to others CoD the graphic is improved but the awesome in this is the campain C.o.D. WWII has a very cool campain mode,multiplayer is very different compared to others and is very cool to play for the zombie mode is seem very too easy to play but is still good play it with friend

    I enjoyed playing this game. WWII is so realistic (atmosphere and graphics), it's like you are going to the war for die. The plot it's not the best perhaps it is plain. I should put more missions but each mission last less because it's veeerryy looong. The online flag. Nevertheless, zombies mode is pretty good. I put 7 out of 10. Personally, it's not bad but it's still well

    This is a strange game. It is a Call of Duty that tries a lot differently which is respectable but a lot of it falls flat. The campaign is beautiful and is pretty fun with a couple of changes but nothing big but the zombies is something completely different.     Best call of duty I have ever played! The storyline was amazing, the gameplay is great! Multiplayer is fun and Nazi zombies is also great! Best COD so far!

    Call Of Duty: WWII is one of the last innovative and good COD games, after the franchise became a repetitive evergreen. While the multiplayer is strong as usual, the single player campaign is a bit short, but well written. But the most impressive aspect is the atmosphere. You dive deep into emotional WWII moments and experience rotatory slow and fast scenes. A good historical FPS!

I sniped the AI during the campaign, in the neck, twice, and they simply shrugged it off. Takes nearly 12-14 bullets from a Thompson to down an enemy, and this is on recruit difficulty. Heroic actions are beyond buggy. Last one I attempted, I was unable to move in any direction andFantastic looking and sounding.     Maybe not a masterpiece but one of the best COD's for me. Great acting, pretty good characters, perfect story and a magnificent ending. I have finished the campaign 3 times and probably will do again a few times more.

    Same **** with a ww2 skin, gun-play doesn't feel any different from other games and they didn't even try to make this game historically accurate.

    Für mich ist das Game in 2022 immer noch einen 10/10 denn das Game ist super die Story richtig gut der Zombie Modi heftig und der Multiplayer bisschen verschwitzt aber nicht schlimm. Das einzige was ich schlecht finde ist dass das Spiel nicht mehr so viel Leute spielen.

    Campaign is very good. There are no big WW2 games for a long time, but this COD hits it very hard with a storytelling. Brutal and emotional campaign. Must try.

    This game would have gotten a better score by me if it was not for the glitches in the campaign some of them just are soo bad considering I played this game 5 years later after its release, it should have been fixed aside from it, the campaign is fantastic and the multiplayer great as well, if you like ww2 stuff this is a gem, great game.

    Got this game from my PS+ subscription and still feel cheated/scammed. They story was so boring by the third mission, I had just removed it from my console. The game was a cash grab more than a return to the roots claim they made.

    Call of Duty WW2: This has to be one of the darkest COD games of all time. You play as Ronald “Red” Daniels set in different times dusting World War 2. Obviously with a COD game it’s going to look great but they game took my breath away at some points because of how real it looked it happens when one of your partners get shot and you are dragging them all of a sudden a cutscene startsCall of Duty WW2: This has to be one of the darkest COD games of all time. The gameplay is always solid the guns feel great to use because they are all from the 40s or when ever World War 2 happened. But the guns always feel like real weapons because of how they feel and sound. But it doesn’t mean the game is going to hold your hand oh no, they game is difficult even from the start you play on the first level D-Day on the beach it doesn’t hold back, but sometimes there are easy levels then it goes back to BS levels. Overall it’s a very beautiful looking game and one of the most dark COD games I have played it’s free for anyone who has a PlayStation Plus subscription.… Expand

    Very solid story. Although really not emotional one... Lot of things were very safe for example deaths camps. There were few really great stealth mission ant few really memorable moments. It's seriously good game that shows how ww2 game could be interesting, exciting and varied. I must admit that soud design in campaign is great.     Mittelmäßiger Ego Shooter, dessen Online Modus ganz in Ordnung ist und gut läuft. Die Handlung der Kampagne ist aber sehr oberflächlich und bleibt weit unterdurchschnittlich. Insgesamt enttäuschend (5/10).

    I only played the campaign and I just can say that I liked it. Graphics are good and gameplay as well. Bad things would be that you have to download 35 GB if you want to play this game even if you are only going to play the campaign. It's the first time I see this. I normally play games english but because I would have to change the language of my ps4 I played directly in Spanish. VoicesI only played the campaign and I just can say that I liked it.     I bought this game from a second hand store like every other game for like 15€-10€ and it was worth it in my opinion: decent storyline (not that good but still), nice mechanics and other things though this game can get very annoying at times.

Multiplayer and a big payout to win almost every weapon you unlock only if you get the premium version and the matches are quite long. The multiplayer maps are huge filled with useless empty spaces that could reduce a lot. The difficulty curvecampaign for this game is dull and full of cliche, pre-assembled action scenes that do not surprise anyone the characters do not have much charisma. Multiplayer and a big payout to win almost every weapon you unlock only if you get the premium version and the matches are quite long. The multiplayer maps are huge filled with useless empty spaces that could reduce a lot. The difficulty curve is ridiculously bad, meaning you have to play a lot even if you want to have some fun in this game. One of the few positive points of this game is the destruction of scenarios.     I hadn't picked up a Call of Duty game since Black Ops 2 back on the Xbox 360, I thoroughly enjoyed each instalment until BO2 at which point I felt something went horribly wrong but couldn't put my finger on it at the time.
    Roll on several years and I picked up WWII for PS4, to start with I thought yes the controls are tight the action reasonably well paced I thought 'this might be pretty    I hadn't picked up a Call of Duty game since Black Ops 2 back on the Xbox 360, I thoroughly enjoyed each instalment until BO2 at which point I felt something went horribly wrong but couldn't put my finger on it at the time.
    Roll on several years and I picked up WWII for PS4, to start with I thought yes the controls are tight the action reasonably well paced I thought 'this might be pretty solid'.. I was wrong.
    1st the quick time events (QTE) are horrible maybe it's me but reading the prompts wasn't obvious initially, and these QTE start getting over used real quick.
    2nd If anything makes me scream obscenities at a game it's headshotting an enemy (not a boss a normal grunt) and them getting up as if nothing more inconvenient than a tenis ball had bopped them on the nose and if you shoot a German in his velar weave mithril silver trench coat expect to empty several rounds to inconvenience him, what the hell man!? it isn't 1996 anymore! games moved past this kind of cheap bullet sponging decades ago.
    3rd British SOE agents, there is SOO much wrong with this anyone with half a brain or any level of understanding of the SOE is forced to cringe and I'm not talking about the now obligatory female agent (they existed maybe not in the capacity shown but I can live with that) what made me cringe was as soon as SOE were mentioned I thought ok when do they roll out the cockney weasels.. TADA as if by magic.
    By the time I derailed an heavily armoured train WITH A JEEP!!! ffs I had had enough, I couldn't suspend my disbelief any further this campaign was badly written poorly implemented garbage.
    I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this game I would have felt violated.
    I'm yet to try the multiplayer, for all I enjoy MP COD, the campaign is primarily why I used to buy these titles.    … Expand

    Narrativamente, en cambio... ¡Ay, amiga! Decir que narrativamente es flojo se queda corto por mucho. Tenía unas expectativas inmensas en este juego: como fan de la IIGM, esperaba poder explorar la guerra hasta sus extremos. Cuando de repente me han salido los créditos (que, mind you, duran más que el juego en sí), me he puesto lívida. ¿Dónde está la captura de Berlín? ¿Y el frente ruso? ¿Y el enfrentamiento con Japón? **** ¿qué clase de visión parcial guarripei de un conflicto tan inmenso me he comido? *himno americano sueña de fondo* *bostezos en la sala* *se oye a alguien vomitando en los baños fuera*

    Eso por no hablar de la historia de Daniels, que, por tradicional y redundante, me aburría cada vez que se hacía referencia a ella...     Sin duda es el mejor Call of Duty. Increíbles gráficos y historia, también tiene buen Online y un espectacular modo zombis. Llevo jugando a este jugo desde que me compre mi consola (PS4) hace bastantes años (me lo compré cuando salió) y nunca me cansaré de jugarlo.     This game was alright. However, it does not come even close to topping the most classic Call of Duty games such as the Modern Warfare series and the Black Ops series. The game's biggest letdown is that it didn't bring anything new to the table aside from the setting. Sure it got better as time flew by but WWII is not bad or good enough to keep you grinding for hours.

    normal garbage, nothing new, get ready for random aimbot during the campaign and a lot of frustration. the enemies manage to hit you through the smoke grenade and depending on it is hitkill. CGI is good but during the game the graphics is all locked and grotesque, melee attacks don't work well and when you try to do some heroic act the enemies keep hitting you with aimbot.

    Looking back at this game it was alright. The campaign was decent but it's very short. The multiplayer is garbage with the maps being a big reason why but what makes this game decent is the amazing zombies

    The campaign is everything you come to expect with a game like this. Completely generic but totally well executed. The single player story is fine but ultimately a meh experience. But when you combine it with the refreshed zombie mode and the "more fun than you expected" multi-player you have a really well rounded game and a solid 8/10. Its understandable that there should be unlockable skins, etc, but the randomization is explicit gambling, which I don't think should be in games, unless you like that sort of thing - more power to you. If you can take anything away from this review - please note the developer and publishers to avoid: EA, Activision, Ubisoft. They are game manufacturers with a quota. Never forget that.     The only times I felt immersed were when it was pure combat. Pop out of cover, shoot, reload, dodge explosion, change cover. That's a fun gameplay loop. They try to stray from that so often, like they're afraid of it. It's so frustrating to get glimpses of what this game could be only for them to be interrupted with "GRAB THAT PANZERSHREK". If you don't do what they want you to, the AI willl scream it out over and over and over.

    The audo is also super messed up. Only 1 setting that controls all the audio. It's mixed terribly and you'll rarely even be able to hear dialogue. The bass overpowers everything else, completely drowns it all out.

    Some of the missions are so poorly designed. They spend so long on the scenery then lazily dump re-spawning AI all over. Very little care was put into making this game fun to play.

    The game ends in an extremely underwhelming way that is very obviously not what was originally intended. It feels very unfinished and this being the game that it is from the developers and publisher that it is from... It will never be finished.
    As that is the way of modern game design for AAA companies.
    Overall.. whatever. This game won't be remembered for any special reason. Extremely lazy and forgettable.    … Expand

    Honestly this is still one of the best games in the Call of Duty franchise. The campaign is refreshing and truly something for Activision to be proud of. It is definitely one of the best original Call of Duty games in years and I think this is still one of the best Call of Duty games in recent years.

    The zombies is great and full of Easter eggs to do with friends but compared to Black Ops 3 zombies it is a lot easier. However, that is my personal preference but the lack of difficulty does not make it any less fun.

    After the release of the most recent Call of Duty games the multiplayer has had less players but it is still a joy to play. The multiplayer still feels as fresh today as it did when it first released. The only multiplayer that could beat this is Modern Warfare (2019).

    Unfortunately, loot boxes are still prevalent which does leave a bad taste in my mouth but other than that it is a beautiful, fun and well crafted game.    … Expand

    I liked it a lot, the story was awesome and the graphics were one of the best I´ve ever seen. The characters are well done and the scenery was beautiful. I have never been interested in zombies, and I have never tried the multiplayer so I can't give my opinion on that.

The action is always pushed to the limit with explosions etc, and it's always the same old 'clear the enemies - move to next checkpoint' that we know so well from ALL these games. I just lost immersion and stopped caring completely on the action, I realized the characters were also very empty and I didn't even know who was who (not that it mattered anyway). Great envelope (graphics, presentation, music), but a very empty core (feeling, engagement, uniqueness).
    The multiplayer , I lasted 30 minutes. It's just too fast and chaotic, and you need to train a lot to get competitive. I don't see the point on playing unless its with friends.    … Expand

    However, after the liberation of Paris the darker tone of the story starts to set in as the war becomes more vicious in German territory. I was enjoying this part of the story much more.

    Gameplay:
    The shooting mechanics are actually very good. The practical WWII weapons provide a much more intimate fighting style, as battles are fought in narrow fields or streets. The reaction of hitting and eliminating an enemy feels very satisfying, and the results are quite gory. There are obligatory quick-time events, though these do show intense fights to the death that get you on the edge of your seat. There is a particular mission where you you operate a Sherman tank that fights a Panzer and a Tiger Tank. Though this is very simplified (and a Sherman tank is no match for a Tiger II Tank) it is quite entertaining! I find the single player campaign of WWII to be very enjoyable due to the satisfying gameplay and darker missions later on. Had this been the only content of WWII for 20 bucks i could have given it a 7/10. Graphics:
    It's a pretty game, no doubt about that. The cinematics are especially stunning to look at, and i like the inclusion of gory effects by explosives.

    Multiplayer:
    Chickens running around with no head gameplay, that lacks all the satisfaction that is present in the single player campaign. There are some fun modes that change up the gameplay, but Team Deathmatch and the basic modes are poorly put together pools of mud.

    Zombies:
    Quite fun, but i feel like it is overstuffed and overcomplicated. A zombies mode like in World at War with a bunch of new small maps would have been enough.

    Though the game reeks of inspiration out of movies instead of books, i find the single player campaign to be great. Unfortunately i can't say the same about the rest of the game, as it seems to lack polish and effort. I give the game a 6/10.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm going to be as fair and balanced as I possibly can with this game. It's completely average in just about every way. Honestly, this is the video game equivalent of a failing student getting a C- minus and the teachers all say how good he is. The bar was set so low that it looks good by comparison.

    The campaign was something I found enjoyable, but suffers from archaic design choices. It felt like I was playing Call of Duty 2 or 3, and while I enjoyed some of the nostalgia and simplicity of it all, I was constantly reminding myself that this was a 2017 release that cost millions of dollars to make and promised a return to form while pushing boundaries, and the game failed to deliver in that regard. Worse still, where the game goes over-the-top with it are the most immersion-breaking parts of the story. There's seriously a scene where you sneak into a Nazi camp with suppressed SMG's ( the stealth sequences are terrible, by the way) and later in that same level, you chase a train and flip your vehicle sideways in front of it and end up grinding against the train before it eventually derails and you fly out of your jeep. A lot of the game doesn't feel like WWII and instead feels like a weird pseudo-WWII. Honestly, the only way I got through it and found myself having fun was by acting like it was Inglorious Basterds The Game. Seriously guys, take this campaign with a grain of salt and try to treat it like a war movie and just enjoy the ride because if you're looking for a realistic or immersive experience, you won't find it here. It's a good campaign, but only if you appreciate it with the right mindset. If you're like me and you loved World at War, this game's campaign won't be dethroning it.

    Multiplayer made me keep reminding myself that, once again, this was a multi-million dollar franchise because the multiplayer is about as basic as it gets. You get all the modes that come in traditional CoD fare with a few additions like the War mode which really just boils down to, "Defenders camp and attackers shove their bodies into objectives and ruin their K/D." But the maps are basic, bland, and uninspired and the weapon selection is mostly acceptable at best. Again, this multiplayer is easily 10x better than Infinite Warfare's, but that's barely saying anything. I truly felt like I was playing a lesser shooter made by a smaller developer instead of a powerhouse franchise. It's pitiful, actually.

    The zombies, however, is something I enjoy for the most part. It's familiar enough to draw me in, yet different enough to feel unique. The map is huge, the zombies have different movement patterns than the other CoD games, there's different zombie types, and catalogued objectives that guide you on a path. I feel like this game gives you the tools to last longer and it feels like the devs want you to survive and see it through if you can figure out what you're doing. There's a story there, and it peaks your interest.

    But one of the areas this game stumbles in is the accuracy department. Suppressed weapons, manually reloading M1 Garands, red dot sights, incendiary bullets, and NO FREAKING SWASTIKAS in multiplayer really hold this game back. Because Nazi zombies with a bunch of iron crosses draped on everything doesn't look anywhere near as sinister as it should. In fact, just to mock the absurdity of this game's political correctness, my multiplayer soldier is a black woman who's calling card is Normandy beach with a gay pride flag raised on it. Seriously. These are things Sledgehammer put in their game about WWII, folks. And speaking of things put in the game, the microtransactions and the season pass are back and just as prevalent as ever, and given the fact that Activision recently patented methods to shove them down our throats even more, it seems that they're going to be content to alienate their fans and bleed whoever's left dry until the cash cow can't be milked any further.

    At the end of the day, Call of Duty WWII is strictly average in every way. It's by no means a terrible game, but it never comes close to greatness, either. This will be a game relegated to the dead center of every CoD ranking list, and that's where it belongs. If you need to wash the taste of Infinite Warfare out of your mouth and want that CoD experience you can't get elsewhere, this game is for you. As for me, this is a game I'd buy on sale for about 20 bucks because that's all I feel it's worth. But if you're looking for historical shooters, Battlefield 1 is a much better game and there are plenty of other first-person shooters on the market that outclass this one. Like I said, it's a C- grade from a failing student. It's good compared to its last few outings alone, and that's not saying much.    … Expand

    Excellent maps. Great weapons. Lots and lots and lots and lots to lvl up with the prestige system.

    Personally I think this game gets to much hate, the multiplayer is very fun and fast paced unlike the newer games, and the campaign is amazing.

    The Campaign was good enough, but does not ave any replay value to it. The Multiplayer was decent, however, the servers often goes down and kicks you out in the middle of the game. Zombies Mode is not as good as previous games (Black Ops 1, World at War). And of course, Supply Box are the most pathetic thing ever

    The game is great especially after the revamp. The multiplayer is a lot of fun. The campaign was a little disappointing but its fine the multiplayer is the main part of Cod game. I reached prestige master and played it for more than a year even after bo4 came out. Now looking at bo4 and modern warfare 2019 these older cod games are much better than we think.

    A very short game about the Second World War. The plot consists in one thing: Either kill everyone, or blow up something. A lot of bugs and stupid NPCs. In short, the game has failed. 4/10.

    I really wanted CoD’s return to World War II to be something more than a solid game – but it’s not. I couldn’t shake the feeling that I’ve already seen all this, that the developers (or perhaps the publisher) chose to create something as safe as possible. There’s just one campaign mission that surprised me with its scale, the rest is just a disappointing “best of Call of Duty”. The multiplayer is as good as usual, but it was infused with unnecessary systems resembling mobile titles, e.g spending in-game currency on pointless tasks of the “kill 100 enemies” variety. Missions that make you watch other players open their loot boxes are the pinnacle of absurdity. [13/2017, p.64]

    A solid return to its roots, Call of Duty WWII reminds us what made us all fall in love Call of Duty in the first place. It ticks all the boxes which is both a blessing and a curse. Good fun and worth your time but offers nothing exceptional.
