Horrible spawn places! Why they can't fix so easy thing? Ruins the game all the time. All those stupid dogs, helicopters rockets... get rid of them also! Have a gamemode without any stupid perks and other things, just pure game. Some horrible maps. You can't cancel map load(if it is one of the horribles you don't want to play).
Otherwise good; nice player control and aiming. OK animation

I've been a Call of Duty fan and player since CoD4, and to be completely honest I've invested the least amount of time in Call of Duty Ghosts. I did achieve the Platinum trophy for this game in early December and since then I have only played it a handful of times. Extinction mode is fun, but the lack of advancement and repetitiveness get old pretty quick. Multiplayer is what you'd expect from a Call of Duty game. The Singleplayer was OK at best. Besides Riley, none of the characters made you hate or love them. If you're looking for a shooter that you can invest hours into multiplayer with your friends, then by all means get Call of Duty: Ghosts. If you're a gamer that usually likes something more than just shooting up enemies like you have with the previous installments of Call of Duty, I'd say wait to get the game cheap or skip it altogether. It's not the eye-popper it should be on the ps4 and xbone but its still a great game. Singleplayer is what you expect from cod and the multiplayer is fun. It's on a downslide but don't let the negative reviews put you off if you are a fan of the games.

I think people have been unnecessarily harsh on this game. Yes the formula is similar to previous ones but it is good fun to play and the extinction mode is particularly good.

AVERAGE - The story mode was interesting and the best mode in my opinion for this game. The multiplayer is very unbalanced and requires lots of improvements that seem to ignored. The extinction mode is uninteresting compared to the zombies mode which treyarch offers .

I have chosen to play unappealing games like Knack and Lego Marvel Superheroes over COD Ghosts just to give an idea of how boring this game quickly becomes. Didn't finish the campaign, didn't rank past Level 10 in multiplayer, and I will likely never touch this game again not because it's bad, but because it simply doesn't bring anything new to the table. This call of duty is the same stuff we get every year. The story is forgettable and the multiplayer has issues that keep this call of duty my least favorite in the series. If activision doesn't make the next game good I'm done with call of duty

This game was very disappointing for me because I liked Black Ops 2 when it first came out, it does try to do some new things however it's still the same stuff as last year, however it looks better than the other call of duties in the years past. Worst of the series.

Ghost is just okay for an arcade game. The game is playable if the community of young campers aged under 12 years are forgotten. Several map are too big for as little amount of player. Must still say that the game is "Correct". Of course it will never surpass MW2 or even games such as Battlefield.

Call of Duty: Ghost is just a copy and paste game, literally! There is a cut scene in the beginning of this game where it is the exactly the same as the ending to Modern Warfare 2. Very bad first impression to this but I still gave it a chance, I shouldn't have. The story to this game was so boring I had to stop at one point to read a book to get a decent story. Very bad first impression to this but I still gave it a chance, I shouldn't have. The story to this game was so boring I had to stop at one point to read a book to get a decent story. I was also playing on the hardest difficulty which has to be most easiest game I have ever played, all you have to do is aim remotely close to someone and you kill them. What a joke! I played current Super Mario games that where harder than this! I couldn't even finish the campaign in this game because it was so awful. Also the "amazing" fish AI that they were so happily boasting about is broken. The fish hardly move out of the way and if you shoot them blood comes out but they don't die. Just wow Infinity Ward just wow, old Nintendo 64 games like Super Mario 64 have better fish AI then this game has.

Now lets talk about the multiplayer. Just two words, it sucks. It's basically like every Call of Duty, find one gun that is overpowered, pick all the overpowered perks, and camp. No balance at all! Most fps at least try to balance their guns and classes but in Ghost, the Honey badger (yes that's the actually name of the gun) is so overpowered that you would be stupid not to pick it. Lmg's, smg's, shotguns, and snipers are so under-powered to that gun at any distances. It make it so anyone can play this game, no skills required! Also if you want a full UAV now, you and someone else need to plant ground UVA's or whatever it's called at the same time. I would understand this if the ground UVA's weren't so easy to spot and destroy. All you have to do is shot it once or knife and it's done.

In short, don't get this game. If you need a fps fix get Battlefield 4 or any other shooter than this unbalance game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What can I say about this dissapointing piece of garbage? The campaign did not felt like it was something new and it was way too short. It is acutally always the same. Kill a few soldiers grab the bad guy, maybe a prologue or something like that and BAM, it is done.

Now the multiplayer. Oh god, what the actual f*ck have they done?! The lag is as bad as it was in Black Ops 2. Infinity Ward, Activision, you promised us dedicated servers. Where are they!? On last-gen and current-gen it still uses the sh*tty host system. Killstreaks are really, really, really useless. And the Guard Dog is way too OP. I mean like, it can kill you from 15 feet away! And the Support Streaks, why are those still in the game, and they are even worse then in Modern Warfare 3! They have really f*cked up the Specialist Package. In Modern Warfare 3, it was just perfect, nothing wrong with it, but in Ghosts, it is useless! Perks are the only positive thing about it.

And Extinction, what the f*ck?! Activision, do you try to let Zombies fans (from the Call of Dutys made y Treyarch) buy Ghosts?! It is hust a copy of it, but then with aliens, and I just do not like it...

And now I will come to one of the importnant things of this review: The graphics:

Sigh, it still runs on the IW Engine, really outdated. Maybe with extra lightning and high-resolution textures on the PS4/Xbox One/PC, but that does not let it look like a true next-generation Call of Duty. So, Sledgehammer, please use a new engine! You have a YEAR EXTRA TIME!

But it is not a Call of Duty without overpriced DLC. Onslaught is now available, but i am not gonna buy it. I do not even want to spend 50 dollard on the Season Pass, because it is not woth the money!

So, after playing this Call of Duty, I realised that the franchise is going to die. They get worse each year. So, Activision, I wonder how much money you will suck in in the future with Call of Duty...

After world war 3,Russian seems to get tired,so the south america is coming,OK,cut the crap, the single player is a huge disappointed to me,it's short, very short, when it came to the end,i just can't believe it's over, then it's no different from it's predecessor, which is bad for all COD fun,not gonna lie,it's the worst single player experience i have in COD series,i don't know why IW didn't pay enough attention to SF,yeah i know MP is important, but it's irresponsible to make it that way for all the funs.
    Multiplayer review:
After bad and sad SF experience,as i always do,start MP,surprisingly,it's good! maybe better than MW 3 in some way,the maps have different style, not just street battle, some maps looks like BF,it's big, whether you are a sniper or carry a auto rifle ,you will love the long shot, and Create a soldier is gorgeous! and perks is more, practical, interesting, make you don't wanna stop to gain it,but overall, still no different from it's predecessor.so if you want some real innovation, hold that though.
After all ,call of duty ghost become a sport game,IW don't want to break the rules,so nothing more nothing less, like it or hate it,i might wanna stop hope that this series will have some real fresh start, and don't know where the franchise will leave.

The multiplayer is mainly the same, which can be a good thing for some players and a bad thing for others. The maps are a little to big for my liking as you can be killed a lot of times and by many directions. The new modes, Cranked and Blitz seem cool on paper but are not as fun when you are playing them. Squads also seems really fun but when you narrow it down it is the same as the multiplayer just with bots. Extinction was my favorite mode in the game, which is a shock to me. The implementation of Riley the dog i personally thought bordered of ridiculous and the characters were exact carbon copies from past games.
The mutli-player was marketed on having "dynamic map changing events (similar to battlefield), yet all i've ever seen in the oversize maps, is a petrol station blowing up, one map change due to a kem strike and being able to move dumpsters.
While ive now got used to the multi player, after originally being frustrated with how fast you die, I still don't necessary find it all that fun to play.

Extinction was a big step up from Spec Ops, but it wore out quick as it was just a mashup of Left 4 Dead and Treyarchs Zombies. There was nothing exceptional enough for it to stand out other than a new 3D model to shoot at. But the multi-player is absolutely broken. Since the game has launched I've been killed by I.E.D's, C4's and Grenade launchers about 70% of my overall deaths. I want to like this game, because this is the only twitch shooter available at the moment but it's a deal breaker if I have to run Sitrep and Blast shield, using up 5 of my 8 allotted perk slots just to be able to play the damn game.. It`s a really dumb move that they removed their most competitive game modes from their playlists. Demolition and Capture the Flag were my favorite and almost exclusive game modes because they pretty much guaranteed safe respawns. Now those game modes are gone and I'm constantly finding myself getting shot the moment I take a step after respawning. And the art design is just dreadful. I know it's supposed to look all roughed up, due to Odin decimating America, but the color scheme is just absolutely disgusting. The color pallet is more bland than World at War, and it's really depressing to look at.. I don`t even think DLC can be it`s saving grace. Not a bad game, but also not a really good one. Same old COD story, gameplay and graphics. Since it's on a next-gen console you have some expectations, but this game looks bad, especially when you compare it to Battlefield 4 and even more so to Killzone Shadow Fall.
So to me it's not a must buy, but you should consider it if you're a die-hard COD multiplayer fan.

I was surprised how much fun the game actually is given the current 3.1 Metacritic User Score. I haven't played a COD game since MW2, so with all the negative reviews for Ghosts, I was expecting completely broken gameplay. The opposite is true. The controls are silky smooth. The levels, while not breaking new ground in design, are coherent and interesting (Clockwork and Atlas Falls are particularly entertaining). The environments and character models are sufficiently "next-gen" (nothing mind-blowing, but certainly not bad). However, the lighting and particle effects really set the PS4 version of Ghosts apart from the PS3 and 360 iterations.

My 2 biggest gripes about Ghosts are the bonkers story and the incessant reuse of elements from previous COD games, including identical motion captures and dialogue lines (how many times in previous CODs have we heard a NPC say, "Enemy in the open!"?). The basic premise of the story feels like it should be in a Fallout game. While I can see a post-apocalyptic setting working in COD, I never got the feeling that the U.S. was on its knees. The Ghosts (and U.S. forces in general) were always well armed and had good tech. However, at least the story was understandable, which is more than I can say for Killzone: Shadow Fall.

Ghosts is not a bad game. The campaign doesn't explore any new territory, and definitely gives you a feeling of deja vu with all the reused dialogue and mo-cap, but this in no way breaks the game. The current negativity surrounding COD is not completely unwarranted--the series needs a breath of fresh air--but it is not broken. It's a solid shooter with solid mechanics. Infinity Ward simply rested on its laurels for Ghosts. But when your laurels are MW and MW2, can you blame them?

The campaign isn't bad, it's short, but only if you play in one sitting, stretch it out and enjoy it. The only bad thing about the single-player stroy is that Riley, the dog, doesn't play a bigger role. Early on, when news started to come out about Ghosts, it showed an emphasis on Riley, and that's what I want. I didn't much like the over-the-top battles of single player and was happy to find that Infinity Ward added some stealth. I want to play as the two brothers, lost in an unforgiving, post-apocalyptic America. Instead, they tease this and quickly put you in the middle of the action. Multiplayer isn't new, just "different." It's a little tricky to get a handle on the perks menu, but after a couple days of trying the different options, you'll find one you like. The gameplay is fun and for the first time ever, equal. A new player can jump in the action and have as good of a chance of winning as a veteran player. I was never too into multiplayer games, I need a story, but this game is fun and kept me well-entertained for a couple months. Extinction is a great addition as well. It's challenging and fast-paced, unlike the rival, Nazi Zombies. I found that the zombies mode in Treyarch's Call of Duty games got old after the first couple maps. Sure the new maps will seem cool at first, but after a couple days, I found myself playing the same three maps. Extinction is a bold adventure, and it is executed flawlessly. The map does get old, but the first maps always have little problems. With more variety, extinction could become a big side game. People are rough on Ghosts, I don't like most multiplayer games and even I enjoyed this one. If you want something new, don't buy it, but if you want to play the Call of Duty franchise you fell in love with, by all means, buy it. Give it a chance. Expand

Multiplayer is the same. One of my biggest gripes about prior CoD games was player hosting and I thought with their new half server half hosting that it would be better but sadly it isn't. The good news is that you rarely have to suffer from host migrating that would constantly interrupt game matches. The bad is that it doesn't play smooth. Bullets take a while to register and at times it can get laggy, probably because of the half player hosting. You'll find often times you'll be dead before feeling any of the bullets hitting you. The maps are horrible. Squad modes is not that great. Extinction on the other hand is fun. Unfortunately there's not much to it and it would've been nice if instead of the useless squad modes that the developers spend more time making either more maps or something to extinction. Extinction is the only fun part about CoD ghost and saying I would not recommend anyone pay 60$ for the game. As for the campaign the game play was pretty fun, the sound was incredible, the guns were cool, the story itself was okay, but the voice acting itself was pretty terrible at parts. As for the "next-gen" graphics on the PS4, you can tell it was using a slightly better version of the same engine as all of the other COD games. While the game did look attractive from far away, when walking up close to objects you couldn't really see as much detail in the objects as one could in other PS4 games.

    Multiplayer

That being said I've never really bought a Call of Duty games just to play the campaign. With over hundreds and hundreds of hours spent playing all of the previous COD games I must say that this ones multiplayer has definitely been my least favorite. The maps are absolutely MASSIVE and even when playing Ground War (higher player game types) I still find myself spending half the game wandering around the map without seeing a single person. The leveling system in my opinion is absolutely ridiculous. They basically took the Black Ops 1 leveling system of earning Currency based on how well you do and then using it to purchase guns and attachments. However, in Call of Duty Ghosts instead of just earning money you earn "Squad Points". Only problems is you earn SO little points each game that it takes a very long time to get one class going and decked out with everything you need; and it is especially difficult at the start when you really don't have anything. One thing I found particularly frustrating when trying new guns is that in order to really get a feel for whether or not I liked a gun I would have to first play 2-4 games or so (based on performance) just to have enough points to buy the gun. Then an additional 6-8 to try out different attachments and things to see if I like it. If at the end of the 10+ games I've played I find that I just don't like the gun I'm simply out of luck and have no way of redeeming those Squad points I've invested into the gun I don't like.

Over the multiplayer plays a lot like any of the other Call of Duty games, looks a lot like the other Call of Duty games, but loses that fast paced grittiness and intensity that has made me love the series.

My primary concern with this new installment is that the game is simply not fun. There have been numerous times where I have been on a nice kill streak and I get killed, only to spawn, take two to three steps, and get killed again. The new perk system was intended to diversify play style, but there are some perks such as quick draw that are indispensable, and many others that are relatively worthless. The maps are so large, and the spawning so terrible, that players who aren't as proficient are relegated to hiding in corners in order to escape getting constantly shot in the back. There are not many guns compared to its main competitor BF4, which I play as well. The campaign and extinction were only OK. The primary reason that people bought ghosts is for the multi-players experience, but with all of these glaring problems, I find it hard to get into it. Truthfully, the only reason I haven't returned it is because there are only a few titles for PS4, and GameStop won't give me half of what I paid for it. I'll just wait until Destiny comes out, and never play it again. I am only giving it a five because it works, just not as well as I had anticipated. 1. Maps are big which often means people spread about all over the place instead of fighting in one area. This means that quite often when you spawn on one side of the map a member of the enemy team is already near you since they have simply went through the map without seeing anyone since everybody is spread out.

    2. You die far to quickly even for a call of duty game. It literally becomes the game of who can shoot first. This makes getting a kill unrewarding if i am playing Killzone,Battlefield 4 or even Black ops 2 i am happy when i get a kill because i earned that kill where in Ghosts it's like well done i managed to something my dog would probably be able to do. This lack of caring often leads to the games feeling boring. Yes boring for the first time ever i can describe a COD as being boring.

    3. It is the same formula as MW3. Know i understand what COD wants to do and i'm happy they do that but Infinity ward really need to change up their COD's like Treyarch do but it just feels like a game we got 2 years a go. When Battlefield is making maps with great destructibility, Killzone is making beautiful world and Titan fall has got jumping between rooftops, Call of duty is doing the same thing.

However the campaign is good for COD i think but again it's not great it's just good. Also the game functions fine and some people will probably love it and i can kind of understand it.

Don't expect a groundbreaking title with lots of surprises (nor should you from a sequel to a long running franchise) but if you like first person shooters with solid production value and great multiplayer, Call Of Duty Ghosts is for you.

I bought both COD and battlefield and I can say that although Battlefield has a little more to offer visually (it's not as drastic as many reviews seem to think), both are beautiful games and run buttery smooth on the PS4.

I am rating it 10 to help balance out the negative reviews (I would probably say 8/10 otherwise), extremely entertaining and the multiplayer is lots of fun, one of the better games in the series.

But the reason why Ghosts is so terrible is because the series has strayed so far from what made it brilliant to begin with, it has turned into a giant, empty, miserable, clichéd, horrific and frustrating mess. COD was always about small maps, fast gameplay, racking up massive kill streaks and using the simple maps to your advantage. The beauty was choosing your fav weapon and pwning for an hour or two in a highly addictive multiplayer. Now I can not bare to play for more than ten minutes. The maps are a mess, it's as if they let a kid loose of the Toni Hawks map creator. There is no symmetry, no logic, no routes to take. It's just a case of wondering round for two mins until you are shot in the back by a guy camping in a random spot. The levelling up system is a joke and upgrading weapons is overly complicated and takes for ever. They have removed imo the some of the best game types, Demolition and Search And Destroy. Kill streaks are impossible to get and the lag is worse than ever. I used to be a 2.5 kd average played, I've got Nukes and racked up kills of 100-12 in MW2. I consider my self a decent player, even in mw3 I bothered to play up to 10th Prestige. I put 26 days into COD 4 around 30 in MW2, around 12 in MW3 so I must have some sort of skill, yet in Ghosts I'm getting games where I go 5-19 deaths!!! They have destroyed the COD franchise at last, we knew it was happening. But I genuinely believed this would be a back to their roots game, I thought the Ghosts title was a hint at a more MW2 like game. But no we got this. I'm really disappointed because for the last few years I’ve been chasing the dragon. Hoping for a game as great as COD 4 or MW2 but it just gets worse. I don’t think I'll even bother putting in more than 3-4 hours into the multiplayer. My advice is avoid at all costs, this is nothing like COD. It's just a sad reminder of a once great game now ruined by idiots who no nothing about gaming or what gamers want from COD. Expand

Alright guys, it's time to grow the hell up, this game isn't a 10, and it certainly isn't a 3 or below. You want to play a game that deserves a 0? Play Ride To Hell, and trust me, COD: Ghosts will look like GOTY material.

Ghosts isn't an incredible, revolutionary, new shooter that offers a tremendous amount of new material. But it's still very, very playable. As a person who hasn't owned a Call of Duty game since Black Ops, (I thought MW3 was garbage for the most part) I wanted to hate this game as much as you guys do. But after playing through the campaign, getting to level 30 in multiplayer, and a few rounds of extinction, I've got to say, it's a good game.

The story in Ghosts is a refreshing idea, we take a break from killing Arabs, Nazis, and Russians (finally) and take up arms with a South American army who turned an American satellite against us. The story has a few plot twists and varied, epic sequences that are on par with what you'd expect from a AAA war game. If you can get over a few "that would NEVER happen" moments, it's quite enjoyable.

Graphically, it's not too "Next-Gen" but it's still damn pretty at time. The multiplayer maps look good and everything runs at a smoooooth 60 FPS at 1080p.

Speaking of multiplayer, I'll say it again, not a whole lot has changed. The one thing that got me excited was the genuinely awesome new game modes. IW took a page from Halo and added their own new infection mode which is loads of nail-biting fun, especially when playing with friends. Search and rescue will give you a good reason to watch the spectator screen and yell at your team mates as well. The progression system is all they really keep on changing, I really could care less, but it's still a functional system. My biggest gripe is something that the game, itself, can't change. The god-awful community of idiots still trying to "360 quik sc0pe wallbang hedshot"" you in a round of hardcore Search and Destroy while screeching through the mic about what they did to your Mom last night. Yup, these people still exist, though not that common anymore. For the part, it's still a fun time. And i have to admit, I missed the fast paced run-and-gun multiplayer.

As for extinction, it's not terribly interesting, but still great if you want to pull some friends together and shoot some aliens. It tries its very best to differentiate itself from TreyArch's zombies, and succeeds to some extent.

Overall, is it a COD game? Yes. Does it do a good job at being a COD game? Yes. Is it a broken piece of trash that has no effort put into it and is just a terrible "cash grab"? No. It's a functional, fun game that brings enough new features to the table to earn a 7/10 from me

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Whilst this game has received a lot of critique from many different people, I feel that there is somewhat more to this game than people formerly assume. I mean, most people these days focus on multiplayer, but acting like this is the only feature in a game that significantly matters is rather ignorant, to say the least.

First off, the campaign is actually pretty well designed; it has the feel of a post apocalyptic scenario, and whilst it may not offer a huge amount in terms of innovation, it certainly feels fresh, relative to previous games of this franchise. Funnily enough, one of the main villains is, lo and behold, an American. This feels a little renewing when thinking about the infinitesimal amounts of times we have fought Russians over the course of the IW collection. It is in no means a fantastic campaign, but it has it's moments. It seems to be what you come to expect from a CoD game, y'know; snipers, linear stealth missions, heavily armored tech, guns, um...dogs? Nothing strictly fantastic, but certainly satisfying.

The multiplayer is, of course, CoD. I rarely play CoD multiplayer anymore, but thankfully, there is a squads mode, where you can fight against bots in a variety of different game modes. One of these specifically feels like combat training from CoD BO, which I must admit, I missed dearly. It's not the same, but it's something.

So, is this game good? Yes AND no, depending on what angle you look at it from; campaign feels gimmicky and predictable, but somehow fresh and new. Multiplayer is...well, CoD. It seems they tried at least, but that doesn't really say much for a company that spouts out a game every year or so. I do not love this game, but in some cases, respect it, and I feel it deserves a little more a negative review, whilst it comes nothing near the nines and tens the official reviewers feel it necessarily deserves. So perhaps I will strike it even and call it a night.

(I will be comparing a few things TBH but its hard not to when your writing a COD review.)

The first thing that caught my attention is how stunning this game looks, the new COD engine really stands out here, the 1080p looks amazing and the Sound/Lighting have also been completely re-done which look and sound amazing.

The story is pretty much the same that you get in any other COD, start mission, kill, kill, kill receive orders to move and kill along the way and what really sucks is that even though the game has "Ghosts" in its title meaning "Stealth" there aren't enough stealth missions to actually live up to that name and when there are stealth missions it's the same as its always been, start stealth and end guns blazing. The characters are likable and the general storyline is ok but it's not really enough to make it any different from the last but I still enjoyed it.

The multiplayer it different and same at the same time, it's still the name camping and hardscoping but the 'Create a Solider" and "Clans" is a great implementation and it's pro perks are gone which it ok I guess but the one thing that really pisses me off about multiplayer is the spawns, I have no idea what they've done but what seems to happen is enemies are always behind you even just as you spawn. Other then that multi is ok.

In my 100% personal opinion Squads is and terrible and nothing more then just multiplayer with bots instead of players.

Extinction is cool, its basically IW's attempt at ripping of Zombies but it still works, theres only 1 mission ATM but its pretty good and theres even a leveling system which is pretty nice and I actually generally enjoy leveling, it gives you something to play for in the game instead of just playing it.

I'm pretty happy with this game, it does have random FPS drops but other then that I'm pretty happy.

The game is not varied at all, and once again tries to make a desperate attempt to rape our wallets because the developers are to lazy to make any new games and don't like the idea of a game franchise from years ago getting stale .

The graphics are the same as modern warfare 3 and the ending of the story, while I wont spoil it, is a huge slap in the face. The multiplayer, once again, is a rehash of the last game's multiplayer. The spawning is horrendous, and there are barley any innovations in the multiplayer to make it any different from the last game. The biggest problem is that this is starting to become the normal in games as in just rehashing the last game, or a different games. A very poor "effort".

This next-gen title still has the same terrible and tiny michael bay-esque campaign. The same horrific graphics and textures that FPSs like Battlefield 4, Killzone: SF, and even Blacklight: Retribution (A f*****g free to play game) blow out of the water. I can go as far as to say that every COD game since MW2 has had better graphics than this next-gen game.
The servers are horrific and the community for this game is horrible as well. All I see are people camping and using either a sniper rifle or the MSBS assault rifle, the most overpowered gun I've ever seen in a video game.
Also, Infinity Ward said that there would be much more customization in this game than ever before. That was also a complete lie. The only thing you can customize is your sex. All the squad characters you can choose are pre made and they all look very similar, other than their sex.
Finally, the maps are the worst I've ever seen in a COD game. Every COD game has an iconic map that everyone loves to play on, whether it be the Terminal or Rust in MW2, Nuketown in BO, the Dome in MW3, and even Hijacked in BO2. This game has no memorable maps and, even worse, the maps are enormous (which kills the fun of COD for almost everybody except the elitists) and repetitive.
Everything in this game is complete sh*t and this game is Call of Duty's (or at the very least Infinity Ward's) last hurrah. This game is a complete abomination to the FPS genre and is immediately getting sold by me and probably many more. Activision needs to kill Call of Duty and work on other projects, like Destiny.

Multiplier is a bit broken, the spawns are terrible you will die as you spawn but has of now there is a patch note about fixing the spawns which is good. People don't seem to like how you die so quickly but I personally like it. For the people who don't like dying quickly they added Heavy Duty which is comparable to BO2 multiplier. The maps are a controversy in Ghosts, the are complicated with multiple flank routes so you are never truly safe. The new maps add a new sense of strategy in the game. The game modes are fun Blitz, Cranked, and Search and rescue are fun.

Squads is a nice addition to the game. You can have a squad of fully customized soldiers even to the point you can pick their gender. The AI is definitely the best out of the Call of Duties of course they're some goofy things you can run in to but that is bound to happen in any game.

Extinction is really fun until you realize that you get one map. I know that with DLC you get more but really you couldn't add one more map.

Overall the game is good better than MW3. I encourage you to play the campaign plus if you don't like dying quick play heavy duty.

Multiplayer then! It's very familiar, different weapons, perks and streaks. Nothing out of the norm. I was most excited about dedicated servers as the past couple of Cods have suffered from atrocious Lag and the only time it seemed playable was when 2 people were watching Netflix at home, which essentially reinforced the poor connection bonus (host disadvantage). As it turns out the PS4 gets a hybrid system dedicated server system, which means it's not really dedicated and currently the LAG issues I've witnessed make the experience unenjoyable. Hit detection can be massively off too, I've seen a few killcams where the player is exiting the right of the screen with the hit markets indicating on the left side of the screen! I'm hoping it's all down to the low population of PS4 Ghosts owners and it will work out in the new year.

Sound: The soundtrack featuring Eminem is a nice addition, the gun sounds actually sound more realistic than the previous MW3 title. The voice acting is average but nothing spectacular, some of the dialog may seem kind of dull. The tactics in the voice acting (during gameplay) seems professional, its just some of the main characters that may sound corny at times. 9.

Gameplay: This is by far the best campaign I have played, not the best story experience, but indeed the best scripted events in a Call of Duty game. The levels do a great job of providing enough action, and stealth gameplay, it’s a good mix that keeps you interested in playing the campaign. The multiplayer side is Call of Duty, it seems very similar to previous titles, and only the guns feel slightly different. The game modes, new characters, and even a new extinction mode (like a zombies mode), but still its very similar to past Call of Duty titles. With that said, COD has had its formula and it is very popular which is why each year’s addition will only seem minor changes. 9.5.

Story: The story is your average die hard action game, or comparison to the movie industry, a popcorn flick. It can leave you on the edge of your seat or just in complete boredom. For me, I enjoyed it, there were corny parts but it ended on a strong note. 9.

Replay Value: Campaign seemed a little longer than the previous COD games (I play all COD’s on veteran), it was definitely easier, but also very fun. Multiplayer is still the arcady COD gameplay that can be addicting. Spec Ops doesn't’t see a return but survival (now known as squads), and a new extinction mode (which looks like the developers will be building on that, probably through DLC). I can recommend this game to any COD fan, if you know COD, you know why you’re purchasing this game, and it will be worth the experience you want. 10.

Overall Score: 9.2 out of 10.

this isn't a bad game it just seems unfinished. if you look at it on its own its very good, interesting and fun and I wont lie I have enjoyed it. but I certainly shouldn't be bored within two weeks of purchase. I expected more from the series and I was let down.

this game is aweful, lots of bugs, kids all over the online mode, and a useless extinction mode, where they wanted to copy treyarch with their zombies mode. disappointing as always..

An enjoyable fast-paced action game with all-too-familiar Call-of-Duty controls. Although the story is fresh and interesting, the game play quickly feels like just another extension of the same franchise, and it is somewhat brief. The graphics seem to not reach their potential for the new generation of consoles, but the fps/animation on the PS4 is SUPER smooth.

Although the story is fresh and interesting, the game play quickly feels like just another extension of the same franchise, and it is somewhat brief. The graphics seem to not reach their potential for the new generation of consoles, but the fps/animation on the PS4 is SUPER smooth.

    GAME PLAY
Like all Calls of Duty, you will jump right into the action, and once you do, it's a never ending sequence of ducking for cover, peeking out ever-so-carefully, and sending out a barrage of Left Trigger/Right Triggers combos until you can dash forward to another barrier, thereby allowing your party to advance and stop a group of enemies from re-spawning. It is not that this is a bad game design; on the contrary, it's been quite successful. Yet being the 10th installment of the series, one begins to desire a little more innovation besides peaking out from corners and sliding; neither of which proved very useful while completing the game on Veteran. The various environments, vehicles, and weapons keep the game interesting, and the fast pace keeps you from getting too fatigued by the lack of game play innovation; but such a pace comes at the expense of game hours. I'm not an expert FPS gamer, and I was able to complete Veteran in under 10 hours. However, there are many parts of the game in which you just DIE way too quickly after restart, which has been a frustrating aspect of all Calls of Duty; the proverbial 5-minute span of "How the hell do I keep dying within the first 1.5 seconds?"

The achievements/trophies deserve some mention, as unlike many other games all of these are quite manageable. Some are not very easy to achieve at all (and they shouldn't be), but they neither are absurd nor require hours of replay to try to master or achieve.

    DIFFICULTY
As is the case with all Calls of Duty, this is not a very difficult game, even on Veteran. All that is required is a general knowledge of where enemies come from; then they can be whittled away through patience, as aiming is not in issue in this series.

    STORY
The story is very well thought-out. No spoilers will be given, but it must be mentioned that it is a totally separate story line from previous Calls of Duty. One does not need to have played any prior Call of Duty if he wishes to flesh out any background. The alternate reality is based on the present, possibly +10-20 years.

    TALENT
The voice talent in the game is acceptable, but nothing outstanding. Characters offer little drama beyond the standard, to-be-expected military jargon and bravado. It's enjoyable, but there will be no memorable moments from talent of this game.

    SUMMARY
Pros: Fast-Paced Action, Smooth Frame Rate/Animation, Great Mix of Scenarios, Able to Complete All Achievements
Cons: Brevity, Lack of Innovation, Frequency of Rapid Deaths on Restarts

EvenDespite the story involving cartoonishly black and white good and evil forces being as dumb as you could expect the campaign is actually fun. The most entertaining COD campaign since the original Modern Warfare. You move from one exciting well designed scenario to the next at a good pace. The game is mostly thrills until the bland tank mission straight out of 2005 towards the end. Even so, story campaigns aren't the main draw of COD. Ghosts MP is easily the worst COD MP and up until now I've been a staunch defender of the series.

Minor changes and additions have been made. Like vaulting animation over obstacles, leaning around corners has been brought back even though it's contextual and clunky, you've got a wider range of customization options, your avatar now slides if going prone from sprint. However, despite the graphical upgrade for next gen platforms gunplay still feels like last gen especially when put up against Battlefield 4.

By itself that's not a big deal but there are other design and technical issues that drag this game down. The biggest of which is the map design. It's horrible... really, the din is no exaggeration. In recent CODs (and even Battlefield) there has been a noticeable push towards rat maze like maps with lots of sharp corners and entry ways. This is intentionally designed to make it difficult for skilled players to be able to efficiently clear a room upon entering and to increase randomness to increase the chances novices get easy random kills. Ghosts takes this to another level. The maps are the most massive and convoluted I've seen in a commercial FPS. The also have way too much visual noise with litter and various back ground objects clutter screen space. This greatly encourages camping. COD is known for camping noobs but this is the first time where it seems like every single player in the lobby camps and it's the only valid playing style.

The mess doesn't stop at the awful maps. The game often suffers from stuttering issues (albiet not as bad post patches) and maps take longer than ever to load. Which is surprising after BO2's brisk loading speed. This is especially a problem when the game puts you right back in the lobby you just left because of horrible lag compensation. Yep, after four games they still can't figure this out. The first two weeks it played well but after a recent Double XP weekend it's back to the same old half a second behind bull**** and desynchronised enemy player models, hit boxes, and aim assist boxes.

Squads mode is probably the concession to players on the bad end of lag comp. It gives you a cropped MP experience with any mixture of AI and human opponents. Problem is, in an effort to keep MP legitimate (something they failed to do by design), you can't unlock customizables or do challenges and that's where most of the xp comes from. Bigger problem still is you can only have 6 opponents at a time and these maps are really horrible for only six opponents as you can run around for minutes only to get sniped by some AI through a bush you couldn't see through a mile away. Best option option you're left with if you want the MP experience is to go into Local/Private match and turn up the amount of bots you can play against and hike up the difficulty. Your mileage with this will vary as everything is unlocked in those modes.

Only thing left is Extinction mode. Where once you unlock sentry guns and match up with others who have as well you can easily blast through the only scenario available in about an hour. Beyond that there's no reason to go back.

Ghosts is an appropriate name. This game is an apparition of a once great franchise. Some of the fundamentals of that golden era remain but they've tarnished with age and are bogged down with confused and awful design and technical issues. It's decent as a rental for the campaign but the competition has options that are similar to what COD is known for and for the first time does it much better.

However, that doesn't mean the campaigns bad, because its a blast! The locals are brilliant, taking you from space to a an apocalyptic Santa Monica. You'll be frightened as buildings collapse around you, amazed as you take part of a firefight in space, and be shocked as you take control of a dog. But this isn't just window dressing each require new tactics to sucsead, rarther than the old school corridor shooters. Next we have extinction, which at first glance seems to be a zombies clone, but its nothing of the sort. If anything it aspires to be like Left 4 Dead. The aliens are quick, agile and brutal, forcing teams to work together. Squads is also fresh, and incorporates team work. And saving the best till last, we come to multiplayer, which is so AMAZING! I've sunk hours into it! This is mainly because of all new modes, my favorate of which is cranked, where if you kill someone, you have 30 seconds to get another kill or you explode! Overall its a brilliant game that I recomened, but doesn't feel next gen. Expand

I've owned every COD, put in thousands of hours into them. With that being said, with next gen coming and after reading all of the reviews. I had come to the conclusion that I was going to try out battlefield for the first time...but it was because I wanted to be blown visually by my new console and with all the complaining about the old COD engine, the choice was obvious. I had come to the conclusion that I was going to try out battlefield for the first time...but it was because I wanted to be blown visually by my new console and with all the complaining about the old COD engine, the choice was obvious. But Battlefield was broken, and a month and a half latter still is. So I got tired of waiting and bought COD.

Very happy with my decision. First of all, it's important to respect (probably because i'm an older gamer) that activision is a company a they're main goal is to make money. The money is still with old gen, so I can understand them not developing the game for new gen. But still the game looks awesome. The lighting, the color...And it's like the more you play the more you pick up on details...for a game that was ported they did a great job making it work flawlessly on both system (which others couldn't do because BF4 on old gen is horrible) so trying to make everyone happy was nearly impossible and they still succeeded.

The campaign is way more fun than BF4...action is fluid and flows nicely.

What has received the most negative comments is the maps...which i find excellent especially on ground war (18 players). I really hated the three corridor map system on BO2. Basically run in a straight line t'ill you get killed then start over...for kids on ritalin. The maps on Ghots remind a lot of the ones from MW2. Multi leveled...complex that pushes you to be creative and use teamwork. Seriously for all the people complaining against Infinity Ward...Well I say bravo. The gun are well balanced, the shooting is smooth, hit detection is spot on. And from the first moment of play, I literally felt like a was playing a new game. The sliding and peaking at first seems useless, but the more you play the more it makes for incredible WTF moments that you wouldn't want to play without, that can only happen in the fast paste COD environment.

The only thing that I find hard to cope with, is the damn thermal scope being so easy to access and easy to use. People just lay down in bush and shoot people coming throught. But with the complex map system they're easy to get to from other angles.

I Give COD 9/10, because I buy COD to play COD. They delivered a solid COD and I got more than what I expected.

Thank you Infinity Ward for a great game.

Mates, don't do charity to Activision. They are wealth enough to drown you using cash.

I feel disgusted playing this game. I am regretted for my decision of picking up the game when I bought PS4. This game is utterly the same as 5 years ago in SP, MP, and graphics. No, the SP is worse!!!!. The SP must be written by a middle school student. I have to say the SP of BF4 is mediocre,

Free for all, team deathmatch and war zone. Great fun! Shadow fall just has team based games and NO free for all. So I traded Killzone and got what I thought was a next gen game but in fact its a last gen game that looks VERY dated. It also plays like a last gen game also. Thats not the point, I got Cod Ghosts for the basic free for all that Killzone didn't offer. With bad visuals and a constant drop in frame rates and awful map design CoD Ghosts is a shambolic waste of money and time. Its a pure example of laziness and deceitful lies from Activision. This game is getting traded in for PSN credits that will be used against the BF4 premium package. No more Activision games for me.

Call of Duty: Ghosts isn’t treading any new ground, but the single player campaign is still a memorable one. But with each installment it’s getting harder and harder to get excited about Call of Duty’s multiplayer. Refining the same ideas over and over again is no longer enough, the multiplayer is in dire need of a complete re-design. [Nov 2013]

Call of Duty is a series that is oftentimes criticized for making the same game year after year, which is of course totally true and Ghosts is no exception. It even feels like a step back. The campaign is devoid of anything interesting and even the online part feels uninspired. It’s not a bad game by any means but it’s like its predecessors, only worse.
