    The gunfights are a always coin flip, decided by one of Activision's patents. The game an absolute nightmare to play. It's made to make you feel cheated and depressed. Seriously, stay away from this game, and any    Horrendous game, published by a fraudulent company.     My whole review is only about MP, I never play anything else in CoD...

    As 6v6 MP only player I considered MW 2019 absolutely the worst CoD ever created. It had terrible maps with too many angles, terrible doors, infinite claymores with restock, no dead silence perk, TTK too fast, camping spots(even remastered maps were ruined with them), strong SBMM in casual playlist, washed out    My whole review is only about MP, I never play anything else in CoD...

    As 6v6 MP only player I considered MW 2019 absolutely the worst CoD ever created. It had terrible maps with too many angles, terrible doors, infinite claymores with restock, no dead silence perk, TTK too fast, camping spots(even remastered maps were ruined with them), strong SBMM in casual playlist, washed out graphics etc. It was the only CoD ever I almost refunded. It was like game itself decided if I kill or die.

    The last thing I ever wanted from CoD series is realism - the only reason I buy CoD is that it's casual fast paced arcady shooter, so I consider Cold War being huge improvement(to me every single CoD is masterpiece compared to last year MW). It's fast paced, maps are better(but not perfect), perks are more balanced, TTK is little bit slower(but still quite fast), there is just 1 land mine with long CD, game actually has some colors, camping is not the only way to play and it can be countered. It's CoD again and not Insurgency clone made for CoD haters and realism seekers. First 10 hours I had flawless experience - it reminded me times of BO1 and BO2 which are my most favorite CoD games. I wanted to go for 8+ rating but then thick skill based matchmaking kicked in and it ruined my experience with game little bit(and little bit more). Hard campers and sweats started to often fill my lobbies again(but at least whole game is not designed only for them). There should be casual playlist with weak or none SBMM and ranked with this kind of SBMM with ranks and extra rewards. Also on some maps there are flashing textures(sand on Satelite, mountains on Cartel). This was not happening on beta. There are also small bugs here and there like unlockable calling cards are not saved when you pick them. Another problem is lack of 6v6 maps on release so for now its like 6.5/10 for me untill everything is fixed. After that and when they add more maps it would be like 7.5/10. If they add also ranked and nerf SBMM in casual playlist I would go even for 8.5/10 easily. No performance problems at all on my side, runs exactly as MW (i7-7700k+1080Ti), 80-100 fps 1440p maxed out(tested MP only)

    EDIT: Changed rating from 7 to 2 just because of SBMM... It's not objective but I just can't do this anymore. I like game itself in general (much more than MW) but I absolutely refuse to sweat each and every single game to my maximum potential just to keep 1,2+ k/d in CASUAL playlist. I am not ranked player in any game - I HATE e-sport and ranked tryhard-meta trend, only reason I was playing COD was because it's casual MP game and it's not anymore. Game offers absolutely no choice in this matter, no ranked vs quick match playlist, there is only ranked without rank. Burn in hell for ruining this casual MP series and otherwise good game with system like this. I hope at least Battlefield will never give up on completly random server list system... I always liked COD more but this is just unbearable. Game itself decide who and when will do well or terrible in each match, not player skill. You had 2 good matches? Bad for you, next 2 you will be annihilated... You suck in 2 matches? Well, here is your candy - you will be rewarded with some easy game next. This is not even multiplayer, it's just singleplayer with adaptive difficulty with players carefully picked instead of bots.    … Expand

    - MP has very few competitive guns against the MP5, XM4 and the burst fire guns (M16, AUG).
    - Not very many game modes and the new ones are not very enjoyable.

    I've given the game a 1 because I've enjoyed zombies when it hasn't been a buggy mess.    … Expand

    SBMM robs the multi-player of any fun if the poor hitreg and broken mp5 don't get you first. I love Black ops but this is not a finished game movement is clunky at best and aiming... well ya just point a shoot maybe you'll get hit markers but most likely not.. It’s literally straining my eyes, my eyes start throbbing like I got stung by a wasp with the swine flue in my cornias. I can’t see anything, a headglitching nerd 40 meters away is literally invisible because there are 3 pixels on the screen. And no, ur not missing ur 3D glasses, the game does not look loke that because it’s 3D. It’s just disposable waste. This game lacks detail. The guns look so blocky and plastic, They might as well have taken models from roblox. The dev team is garbage, they all need to be sentenced to running on a hamster wheel until they drop into a faceplant and get rapidly spun around in circles until they puke up their mcdonalds sausage buscuits for this nonsense. The maps are trash and huge. I literally sprint around for 3 minutes straight looking behind every crevice, pre-aiming and bunny hopping through every door finding nobody because theses maps are the size of College Universities, only to get drop shotted in the butt hole by a bolt action sniper who spawned 3 feet behind me because the spawns are diabolical. The game is literally cheating. My aim get thrown around nerds when I try to get them in my sights like they have a fricken force field. My bullets go straight through these dweebs like they are fricking tobi from naruto. I’m literally shooting these nerds in their heads putting shotgun barrels up their nostrils and the bullets go straight through them and I get beamed. Skill based match making makes it to where if you so much as go positve, you get thrown into lobbies full of nothing but unkempt neckbead mouse and keyboard draculas who haven’t seen the sun in 3 months using their giant stack of empty ubereats pizza boxes as a gaming chair and smelling like shIIIIIIIIIITE! Why is scump in my lobby? This is terrible. The streak system blows it takes damn near a nuke in past cods to get a weak choppy in this one. Gotta go a whole match without dying basically to get a choppy only to get how many kills with it? That’s right... none. Because the choppy sucks and it was shot out of the sky by a sub machine gun before you even gained control of the gun...........This game is 7/11 burrito diarrhea, you are not allowed to disagree and if you give this game anything above 0, your opinion is automatically irrelevant and objectively false. you are a clueless noob, who gets stomped by sped elderly people playing on nursing home wifi, with arthritis in their knuckles. I hope I run into you in the game when I reverse boost, so I can drop a nuke on your neck and make you eject disc and yank your console from it’s power supply because you do not deserve to play video games.     What happened bud. Auto aim for console is practically an aim bot. Maps are fine but spawn killing is already outrageous. Guns are overall fine as long as you’re not fighting a team of mp5-ers. I’m not a game critic but I’m more disappointed in this than I was mw. Feels like a 60 dollar zombies game

    Feels like s Hugh downgrade from modern warfear in every aspect. To compere mw to cw is like going from battlefield 4 to Star wars, except the graphics feel more like something you would expect on a ps3 game.

    This game is literally unplayable with friends, crossplay or not. The chat audio is terrible and most of the time you just cannot hear one person in the party. My friends and I have tried more than 10 times in the last hour to play zombies together and have never been able to start without one person getting kicked. This game is terrible

    Secondly the ps4 version graphics are remarkably disgusting The movement is horrible(clunky, slow)
    Campers are annoying(like normal)
    Health is garbage. If you get into one gunfight and have another immediately after, go ahead and chalk that up as a loss. Lastly leveling up takes and eternity even while playing on 2XP

They asked me to get this and I’ve seen some gameplay and I was like ok I’ll get it, not because it looked good but because I could play with my friends. I download it and was ready to play and honestly I wasn’t expecting a whole lot but my gosh. This is easily one of the worst games I’ve ever played not just call of duty but ever they story is short but honestly not that bad, I haven’t played Zombies but it doesn’t look that great and then there’s the multiplayer, like who at treyarch thought this was a good idea, the guns are all bland and players blend in like in the middle of a street and I can’t tell where or what’s shooting me, the sniping is probably the worst out of any call of duty ever made, the footsteps are so loud as well I can hear my team mate scratching his nuts across the whole map and then the maps who tf designed these things Helen Keller they are so **** bad and of course no ranked playlist and then for the grand finale Skill base match making, like who came up with this like I don’t understand why you would do this, my first game I go 31-6 not too bad I was level 1 and I was facing lvl 40 out the gate but after I was like ok then not so bad, the very next game I get a clan of 6 who have all prestiged and the whole game they were making call outs and screaming at each other and like who in their right **** mind would do this, idc what anyone says this game is maybe slightly above infinite warfare maybe and after this cod I’m never no matter what buying another already asked for my refund after about 5 hours of playing, ass game made by a ass company gg activision… Expand

    Only buy this game if you enjoy zombies... If not, stay with Modern Warfare.

    Gun flow is fun but that is about it. Trash maps like the last call of duty but with an even smaller selection. Around 3 guns that can actually be used. Skill based match making is the worst it has ever been. Terrible game overall.

    DO NOT BUY !! 2019’s cod MW is far superior in every way. Get it instead. Cold war feels like a bad arcade shooter, the maps suck weapon damage sucks graphics are terrible. After taking 10 year break from cod (because they all started to be the same) I was super excited when 2019’s cod came out and it was a true return to form albeit with a few changes coldwar fails in every way !

    This is actually retarted that Cronus Max is going unpunished on consoles I get put in a lobby of all aim botters just because I’m good at the game the aim assist is even broken on launch making only people with Cronus being able to aim consistently this is a **** disaster of a game. Most of my friends have already stopped playing

    Multiplayer is where the game is a let down, visually it seems very poor quality compared to modern warfare and the connections seem very inconsistent with constant lag and connection interrupted.     There are some strange class options also with no option of claymores or betty's on lethal but instead being a field upgrade which makes them unusable until you have earned them. Then there's the footsteps in the game which are so loud everyone must be wearing lead boots which means you have to use ninja or be heard from outer space.

    I appreciate that Cold war has been put out during unprecedented circumstances but the multiplayer doesn't have the normal black ops quality feel about it, overall the multiplayer is disappointing.    … Expand

I've logged in/out and reset everything dozens ofI try to find match in multiplayer, and it joins lobby and looks like it's loading map, but then I get kicked back to the main multiplayer screen, sometimes with a "lost connection to host" or other error message. ISSUE IS NOT WITH MY INTERNET, as every other online game I have (including modern warfare multiplayer) work without any issues. I've logged in/out and reset everything dozens of times. I've tried every way possible to get some sort of help from activision and their discussion board, and have not even gotten any replies, much less answers. The multiplayer is almost unplayable because of Skill based match making. This system destroys the randomness of the game and makes EVERY lobby feel the exact same.     I have no idea how the game is! It will not let me f**king play it! I got past the start screen ONCE! It let me play 30 minutes of Zombies cause it would not match with anyone in multiplayer.     I really want to sit down and ask few questions to the people who made the story, ask them things like what they were going for and what message, are they trying to put out if any. I get a few hints in mind. And if it's true I think it's really bad for this game series. The multiplayer can be fun while keeping with the games theme and even giving you an introductory cutscene just it starting up to add to the set theme, but particularly in the multiplayer I don't like the animations in this game. I don't know if it's because I've been spoiled with the motion capture from on MW and there feel for realistic looking
    but fast gameplay they went for. But if I go play Black Ops 3 zombies for some reason I like the animations better. I have a theory that it cold war uses the game engine from Black Ops 4, and I didn't like how that game felt, and a lot of people didn't, as I've heard. The reason why they called Black ops and why Hudson woods and Mason are in the game.. they pulled a Disney...you know like other new Star wars movie had all the old characters in it but they were not themselves and we're not involved in the main plot? Basically what they did it feels it me... Little throwbacks here and there but they pulled a Disney it feels like..... Maybe that's why they didn't cast the original voice actor for woods, he probably would have been pissed off like mark hamill was with Luke in The last Jedi. Look... nostalgia....is a good powerful, almost like a drug for the brain, and it helps give a happy feeling, a lot of people loved the original characters and there were bits of them in Black Ops 4, but it seemed like there was a trick for using nostalgia in a way to buy the characters, or the game. what I'm saying is like I tried to explain earlier I feel like they made a "Disney clickbait". If the original crew were not teased in the trailers in this game then not called Black Ops. I don't think it wouldn't have been as popular and I don't think much people would have bought it if it wasn't for them being in the game. They're nothing like themselves, of course they may not sound like them, but from what I know they could have got woods his voice actor easily but they didn't, and for some reason they got a guy who sounds like he's trying to sound like the previous voice actor.... why? I understand that their previous title did not go so well (Black Ops 4). But to bring back, beloved characters from the dead, so to speak, just to have the nostalgia feeling kickin so people would buy your game, then for them to be completely different. Why would you do that?I know people would complain to me and say that's what the new modern warfare did but the new modern warfare reimagined the whole Modern Warfare trilogy, but in modern times. This game, tried to put itself between black ops 1 and 2 story.. It makes sense if you were reimagining the story like Modern Warfare but they didn't, I want to know the truth of why they did not try to get him. Imagine how you made James feel, how you made the fans feel. I've seen a bunch of clips on YouTube of him acting, a bunch of interviews, and that's woods right there. you can't put the body of his character in people's views for nostalgia to get them to buy your game. Maybe that's not what they did. I don't know but that's how I feel and I feel horrible... I feel worse Wondering how James feels. Short summary there is fun to be had with this game, especially the zombies.

    I'll be honest in saying that I havent actually bought the full game. However I did play the Beta for the weekend that it was released and I was not impressed with it at all. I have been playing MW for the last year and that one has easily become my favorite modern COD. The visibility is piss poor, due to the strange lighting on the darker maps and the wonky animations for the character models. This game will be put to rest and give up on within 3 months. Why can't they just continue to update MW?

    The zombies is forgettable. Boring and bland. Campaign is short and cheesey.

Or the animations when they kill you, they seem taken from a circus.
    We all know that the multiplayer part of the CoD saga is what has been playing a game for months, but this ColdWar is not at the level of anything.

Their idea of veteran difficulty is to pun you in the open with all enemies shot at you, teammates do not kill nobody almost, they just shot random. I am no expert on Cod but finished in 6 hrs on veteran.     The zombies is very enjoyable and the campaign is great. those are the only redeeming qualities

    this game is the epitome of boring, it exemplifies everything a cod game should not be. Bad gun play, zombies is extremely boring and is only fun for about an hour and the map sucks, limited maps and they’re really bad all the while.

Infinite Warfare, Modern Warfare, even Advance Warfare were better than this. This is no doubt a glaring stain on Treyarch's record. It took me less than a day to complete the campaign on veteran difficulty. Campaign: 5/10. The zombies mode hasn't been this good for years. It has a fun and interesting premise, but only 1 map. It gets a little bit repetitive over time, but it feels like i'm in 2008 again! Zombies: 7/10. My overall rating of Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a 4/10. I feel like this game should cost 40$ at most, it's just not worth 60$. I think it's worth the buy if you like campaigns or zombies, but if you're wanting multiplayer, just stick to Modern Warfare for now.… Expand

    Friendly Fire - The idea that you can spam a room with explosives or drop napalm on the enemy AND your team and have ZERO negative consequences is cartoon-quality BS. At least leave the friendlies stunned for a second or two. Bunny Hopping & Power Slide - these    For a game that spends so much effort trying to dial in realism there's a TOTAL lack of reality on (at least) three fronts:

But playing in a game with a guy using a candy cane striped 50 cal hopping around quick scoping people is also cartoon quality realism.

    Sliding Knife Kills - A guy running at you with a knife while you pop off rounds into his sternum...yah I'd take my chances on the gun side in real life. In this game? You are dead as they sweep in and cut your...kneecaps off. That is deadly stupid. Finishing moves? Knifing someone from behind? Sure thing. But being shot tends to loosen a persons grip on a knife.....no?

    Of course unlimited lives is silly too but there is a difference. Watching a map full of cheer leaders bounding around shooting with precision accuracy or people sliding 10 feet to knife someone in the shin is simply lame. At the very least, maybe think of having fixed rooms where people who don't want to play "Fortnite Lite" can get some real physical dynamics.    … Expand

    Ten steps back from Modern Warfare. Every single gun feels the same, the campaign is almost identical to the first Black Ops with an anticlimactic ending and it is literally the first CoD to make me despise every second of the multiplayer. It feels like a mobile game. Definitely don't buy this if you want to remember the black ops series in a good light.

    Practically unplayable. Couldn't even finish the campaign because it was so broken it hard locked my entire console....three...times. This isn't simply unpolished it's F'ING RAW!!!!!!

    The multiplayer, warzone, and even zombies don't really interest me and I have no desire to try them after dealing with this uncooked slop Activision has the gall to charge full price for.

Now not only are you constantly being thrown into sweaty matches with people roughly your skill level (when the stupid system works, which is never.) but now you're thrown into those matches with an extra large serving of LAG, because Skill Based Matching Making DOESN'T **** TAKE LATENCY INTO ACCOUNT. The game doesn't give a **** about whether or not the game as playable, so long as it's sweaty as **** Which results in people teleporting around the map, suddenly popping into existence in front of you (and you instantly being dead because they've been shooting at you for a solid 5 seconds before they 'decloaked') and a plethora of really ****ty latency based issues. But does Treyarch give a **** No, **** us, they want us to play the glitchiest, ****tiest matches possible because they, as a studio, hate the **** out of their player base.

    Skill Based Matchmaking has the unfortunate side effect of making the only interesting part of Cold War unplayable. It would be great if just once, JUST **** ONCE, I could complete a multiplayer zombies match without the lobby, the host, or myself simply lagging the **** out and either CTD or CTM.

    The Campaign; Like raw sewage and kale mixed in a blender with exactly two scoops of cake flavored protein mix. It would be preferable to simply microwave week old garbage and insert it into your rectum.

    The Graphics; **** And not just **** but BROKEN **** I've never had to 'recompile' **** shaders so much in my entire **** life. Game gets a patch, and suddenly I have giant walls springing into existence around me with no rhyme or reason. I can't see through them, but they only exist for me. It's like if I'd been dropped into Afganistan with an M-16 high as **** on a mixture of ketamine and military grade LSD. You're not sure whats going on, but the god damn ground is 100% trying to eat you.
    The only way to make these helucinatory walls disappear? Recompile the Shaders. But Guess What?! THAT ONLY WORKS SOME OF THE TIME, HAHAHA!

    I hate this game, I will absolutely never buy another **** Treyarch game so long as I **** live.

    Do not buy if you played and enjoyed Modern Warfare this game is complete garbage! Everything is worse than the previous game, multiplayer is a joke be it the awful movement or the dumb as **** map intros or the take 50 years to level 1 weapon to max level. Don't buy, even if its on sale don't buy, if it was free don't waste your hard drive space its not worth it.

    Just by the name you would think this is going to be sweet. This however, is not the case for this game at all. The game looks and feels like a Counter strike port with mildly better textures. The character models are meh at best and the weapon models are just as bland. The game feels and plays like garbage.

    Multiplayer is just trash. Horrible lag, disconnect issues, atrocious framerate, and just overall terrible.

    Campaign is decent, until you get disconnected, or your console hard resets in the middle of a mission.

    Zombies is decent, when you don't get disconnected, and the lag is here too, although not as gamebreaking as MP.
    Just too many problems for a AAAtitle. Don't waste ypur money.

    It's very hard to see opponents everything just kinds of blends together visually. They must have known this was an issue since several attachments have the ability to "spot" or show an enemy nametags easier.

    Visually the game looks like the weapons and players are plastic toys. I don't know if this was apart of the 80s vibe, but it looks cheap. The fidelity is nice the guns look good, just they look like toys. The animations are okay, but the step up from MW2019 which released a year ago makes them seem "last-gen".

    The single-player story was okay, and I don't play Zombies. So the package was a real wash. The only bright side is I can use the Black Ops weapons in Warzone. So it feels like a 60 dollar battle pass for Warzone.    … Expand

    another broken game. I like using bots but that aspect of the game is broken. after each match you have to back out to main screen and go through the whole process of setting up again.

    The hell is the point of creating a casual experience and then having SBMM. At least with other MW scorestreaks were earned appropriately after stringing together 3-4 kills instead of sitting at the back of the map getting "Eliminations" by spraying and praying.

    This is the last and final entry of Treyarch CoD for me.

    Zombies has 1 mode for three months that they have put 0 additional content into with a run of the mil call of duty campaign    … Expand

    I would give this game a 10 out of 10 but people on headsets are ruining the multiplayer. It's not fair that I have to play a team of people communicating on headsets when I play by myself. It's degrading, and trust me I'm a very skilled player, but it just sucks all the fun out of the game to always have to deal with these people rushing you 4 on one, etc. They need to put in aI would give this game a 10 out of 10 but people on headsets are ruining the multiplayer.     Worst cod mp I've ever played. Zombies and Campaign are cool tho. Mp feels like it was never meant to be any good and its so clunky. Since cod is traditionally a mp based game I'm giving 1 star because it socks so bad.

    Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War ends up mirroring what the Call of Duty franchise offered last year, with some new additions that are also welcome, especially for long-term fans. While being set during a very intense period, the campaign ends up erring for its disappointing longevity, even though the value of repetition is intrinsic to it. Zombies are back in style, while multiplayer gains an excellent new mode, but here it errs again for the arsenal's lack of variety.

    While Cold War is a part of a series I would have said that I loved, I can’t fully embrace it now knowing that this work is trucking in harmful stereotypes via patriotic-tinged gameplay. A decent CoD multiplayer experience will likely emerge from the currently-underwhelming Cold War, but I’m going to seriously consider whether that gameplay is worth enduring (and supporting) the rest.
