This game is a lot of fun even on PS4, even though I generally prefer PC. Give that second controller to your significant other and see what happens! It's awesome.

Hands down the best couch coop experience I had in years. My pal doesn’t even play games usually but we had a crazy fun time with this little game. It is just enough challenging to keep you hooked and not so unforgiving that you will quit half way. Also the character customization is just hilarious !

Interesting but not brain damaging puzzles, simple but hard to master controls, challenging but not frustrating trials. Perfect couch coop for the family

I'm not a big lover of coop games but Biped really got my attention and that's why:

    1) Strange but a funny walking - in this game you won't find regular controls. Instead of that, you can control YOUR LEGS. Literally. Left and right stick let you move the biped's left or right leg. For the first 15 minutes, it feels very strange but then you will be used to it. 2) Great puzzles -

    2) Great puzzles - well, I LOVE puzzles and there are a lot of them from the easy ones to very very hard!

    3) Cooperation! You can play Biped solo but I strongly recommend you try it with your friend or soulmate. The vast majority of the puzzle section will create a funny situation. Also, the cooperative part of Biped is the chance to understand how strong your friendship really is! :)

    4) Customization and visual design - the game it's very pretty by itself but also has a lot of custom wear for Bipeds for free! It's cool

Continue enjoying this game with my wife - I haven't laugh so much for such a long time. That is what we need nowadays. Playing Single Player campaign makes me understand that I am not that great with my fingers. No time to explain, take my money and give me Biped!

Absolutely love this game. Here is how you play it: be as silly with friends as possible and don't focus at solving the puzzles that much. Carrot fights, kicking each other, silly dancing - this is what makes this game funny as hell. Also - Portal. You'll get what I mean if you know what I am talking about.

Попробовал игру, очень понравилось. Неожиданно для себя открыл ее на стримах у Куплинова. Советую всем, особенно смотря на самоизоляцию. Пару задорных вечеров обеспеченно!

I kinda feel tricked after all PC reviews and gameplay had online co-op. The PS4 version got the short end of the stick and is local only. Even some websites are promiting it with the promise of online co-op. The fact that it's missing this feature is hidden in the details of the PSN Store. I bought to play this with someone online, guess it isn't very supportive of social distancing.

Biped is a wonderful experience that incorporates the teamwork puzzle dynamic of a game like Portal 2, but replaces the presence of an all-seeing robot overlord that has no regard for human life with a different despair that leaves you wondering if you need new friends.

Biped is a wonderful experience that incorporates the teamwork puzzle dynamic of a game like Portal 2, but replaces the presence of an all-seeing robot overlord that has no regard for human life with a different despair that leaves you wondering if you need new friends.

NExT Studios released Biped on March 27th of this year. They are also known for one of their other titles: Unheard, an innovative investigation game where the evidence is entirely in sound. While I don’t know too much about their other titles, games like Unheard and Biped are very promising for the studio.

Biped takes a very simple concept, the physics-based movement of two tiny robot characters, and expands upon it incredibly well. You start with just you and your partner, moving slowly across a simple three dimensional platforming world. You have to coordinate not only your own movement, which is already difficult due to the abnormal controls, but also your partner’s in order to progress. At the end of the game, you’re gliding across the floor with ease and controlling complex physics puzzles in real time. Sometimes the camera turns 2 dimensional, but you still can use the same controls to navigate while exploring a completely new challenge. The progression is steady but the scope expands dynamically.

The aforementioned movement is unique but not completely unseen. Many games take a physics-based movement system and create a frustrating gimmick experience. They’re often fun for a little while, but are inhibitive of extended gameplay. Biped manages to take an abnormal movement system and make it just hard enough to be rewarding but easy enough to not be a negative part of the game. This is supported by essentially having two movements to master: your own and your partner’s. The satisfaction that comes when you and your partner conquer something together through your own teamwork. Unfortunately, part of why you don’t get tired of the movement is that there isn’t enough movement.

Biped is a game that cuts itself off short. Just as soon as you feel you’ve mastered the mechanics, and are ready for even more difficult challenges, you realize you’ve completed the final level. There are bonus practice levels, but they don’t really measure up to the main game experience. I hope that moving forward, NExT Studios considers adding DLC’s in the form of level expansions. As it stands, the game feels almost like it’s incomplete. Incomplete not necessarily in coding quality, presentation, or mechanics, but in raw content. This is, in my opinion, Biped’s greatest flaw.

One way this could be addressed would be a PvP mode. In my suggested mode, you could have physics based traps and puzzle weapons much like how you can interact with the world in the main bulk of the game. In order to maintain the friendly atmosphere, “killing” could just manifest as dropping them off the stage, or some other softened form of off-screen death much like that in Super Smash Bros. While cooperating with your partner is a challenge in the main gameplay loops, often leading to accidental murder (or the laugh-filled intentional kind), being able to explore its more combative hidden aspects would be a fun party game and form of repeatable content for players that want to keep playing Biped.

NExT Studio’s Biped is a fantastic game. It has endearing animations. It’s accessible, appealing to a wide array of audiences. The game mechanics are innovative but intuitive. It’s complex without taking itself too seriously. One of the only bad parts about the game is that there isn’t enough game to go around. It’s for these reasons that I rate Biped:

However that's where the true "10/10" regarding this game ends because it suffers from a severe lack of originality and imagination with the map mechanics (everything is simple and not very interesting) while almost every map puzzle is an obvious low quality copy-cat of famous platform games like the 3D Mario games and there are also several obnoxious bugs and quirks (at least they didn't ruin the Solo play and Co-op play according to those that tried it has a chance to be fun if you must play something with friends). Perfect couch co-op experience. Both players rely on each other, communication is the key and perfect timing is required. The game is difficult enough to make you feel challenged, but doesn't frustrate you even after many failures. Super fun.

There are no much games with good coop, and I'm always happy when something new is released. This game gave me and my girlfriend new happy hours carried out together, so I'm glad that I found Biped, and I'm grateful to the developers.

Coop is great, but I also fing solo mode equally interesting. Developers added some really clever decisions to make game interesting and innovative in both modes and they succeded. Hope to see more games like biped, turns out just having some core gameplay can be loads of fun. Me and my family really did enjoy it very much.

At first, I thought controls would be annoying but it turns out this is the best innovative idea I've seen in games for many years. Now walking in other games seems simply ridiculous. Keep up the good job, I wish we could have more games with walking like that.

Biped is a short and simple game with interesting mechanics based on stick manipulation. It is great to play with children and will allow you to have fun for a few bright hours, which is not bad, given the democratic price tag.

There’s certainly fun to be had with a mate/partner/postman in Biped, but there’s very little here to have you playing for any more than a weekend. Once the levels are complete there’s the odd unlock that doesn’t justify prioritising Biped over the likes of Jackbox or Overcooked. If you’re on your own you’ll find little joy in ploughing your way through the adjusted solo campaign, which is more infuriating than infatuating.

Although Biped has a nice style, the controls greatly hampered my enjoyment of the game. Added to that, the game is pretty short and the puzzles are a little too reminiscent of other platformers to find much of value here. If you’d like to experience a challenge in co-op and test the limits of your personal relationships, you might want to give it a try.
