Cute little game that just takes a few hours to play through. Heartwarming all the way to the end.

A short hike it's a wonderful and relaxing game where you can explore a shore and a mountain, trying to climb the last one to know the hidden secret of that mountain. The graphics are a bit 'blurry', but it's an artistic decision. This game will hook you for around 4 hours in a warm and fuzzy feeling. Very recomended.

A welcome change of pace from the average video game. A Short Hike is full of peace and gentleness, which expertly captures the feeling of exploring nature to cleanse your mind. While it is incredibly short, it is still very much worth your time.

Thoroughly enjoyed this, short and sweet. Platforming and gliding is spot on and the stories are charming.

I loved this game, there isn't much more to say, buy it, platinum it. I dare you to not have a smile on your face while playing. I play a lot of hard games, this was a breath of fresh air. If you are looking for an excuse to buy it, now you have one.

A charming game with cute dialogue and characters. Therapeutic to play, not too long and not difficult. All round, a wholesome experience and a joy to play.

I wanted something nice and chilled to play while I was ill, and this was perfect. Uplifting too. I felt like I was on holiday on the game's beautiful island. Peril is minimal. Characters are nice - meanness is at a minimum. Music is lovely. Movement is fun, it develops as the game goes along.

If I had to criticise something I'd say more camera control would be nice, and a few times I

If I had to criticise something I'd say more camera control would be nice, and a few times I found a hidden area and then lost it (since there's no in-game map). But I still recommend the game highly. Even if one objective proves elusive, you get swept up in something else. The game is all about the side quests really.

The dialogue made smile and even laugh a bunch of times. It's not voice acted but if anything that suits the casual tone of the characters better than a recorded voice would, since you hear in in a way that's natural to you. My young daughter ended up loving the game too, as a bonus.

You can complete this game in an afternoon but it doesn't matter because the pure charm and fun A Short Hike radiates in just a couple of hours is more than some games can do in 40.

The game is short but sweet. It is very endearing and relaxing, the writing is surprisingly amusing very often, the presentation is more than sufficient, and the gameplay is surprisingly good and fluid. The camera style may take some getting used to, and the pixelated presentation might not tickle everyone’s fancy (you can turn that off by the way), but A Short Hike is an excellent, relaxing game that more than urns its place among other indie gems. It’s excellent, which is especially impressive considering it was more or less made by one person. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but that’s their problem. Expand

Lasting just under two hours, A Short Hike is a pocket-sized wholesome adventure. Meandering around Hawk Peak and seeing where each path takes you is always rewarding. It feels very nostalgic, like a call back to summer holidays when there was nothing to do and nowhere to be so you explored for the sake of it. It demands nothing from you, and that’s very special. Very few titles can boast about being as honest or literal as A Short Hike, a game where you do just that. This charming title from Canadian designer Adam Robinson-Yu may not last long, However the pleasure of exploration and discovery is strong in this one. This is one of the best palate cleansers going and a great example of a game where the journey is more fulfilling than racing to the credits.

As whimsical and relaxing lo-res indie adventure games go, A Short Hike is up there with the best. It draws you in with its freewheeling 'go where you like' vibe, charms you with some beautiful artwork and music and offers up great pleasures in exploration as you stroll, climb and glide around the small mountainous island. You'll only be there for a few hours, but every moment is a chilled out pleasure.
