The third and last 8-bit game turns out to be the best in the trilogy. The mission variety has been improved upon and the difficulty buildup has been greatly tweaked as well. The factions are still very cliche but remain an entertaining aspect. Input registration is still lacking and you won't find any players online unfortunately.

8-Bit Invaders is a solid early step into the genre. It's a decent pick for those who haven't played a console RTS before or for those who would prefer quick fun in short bursts over a deep experience. Since that's what 8-Bit Invaders is here for, it could find a bit of love - but those after more will find it wanting.

I like this better than Halo Wars as it allows more units and it’s much closer to the concept of games like Red Alert. It looks good, you can do skirmish whichever way you like and after a short learning period the controls are remarkably intuitive. I’d definitely recommend it. Full Review »
