But for what it is now they hardly have anything.
This game parodies wwe from the roster down to the move set,
Disappointingly though the roster is only made up of 8 characters
you essentially get Kurt Angle, The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, Jeff Hardy, a masked Chris benoit, RVD, and Randy Orton
and you really only get one match type, which is a singles match.. Of course there are other types with added stipulations like no holds barred, or submission only, but there are no weapons in the game, no cages, it’s all basically the same.
There is a challenge mode here that follows the replay modes in recent wwe games that they brought over from the legends of WrestleMania game where you can complete challenges to unlock coins to unlock costumes for your 8 characters,
every character does have their own set of challenges, so there’s potentially 40 to 50 hours of gameplay here..
But with a super limited roster, that 40 hours is going to be insanely tedious.
There is potential for a sequel though, I love the idea of a parody roster of all of the A list superstars potentially borrowed from many different organizations…
But it would’ve been way cooler to have a story mode in place of a challenge mode... to see a goofy storyline playout with the parodied characters.
I’d much rather have a fun time watching my favorite superstars get made fun of for a 5 hour story made up of 20 to 30 character, than see the same characters over and over for 50
instead we get a grind, a lifeless arena, game breaking bugs, 8 characters, and a control scheme that doesn’t feel natural in the least bit…
While ideas were being borrowed, perhaps the smack down layout could’ve been borrowed too
using the right stick to grapple, and hold in buttons while I press this and flick that just feels awkward…
I want to see another parody wrestling game because I miss the arcady fun these games once were...
But this isn’t at all what I’m looking for at all.
This is basically a game you pay $15 for to play as 8 Created Wrestlers that didn’t make it in the main roster of a wwe game.

This game is bad, and laughably so. Unlike the Fire Pro Wrestling series, this game doesn't take any effort at all to hide the fact that they are using wrestlers from WWE and TNA without license.

The controls are a mess. It's a horrible mix of the old SmackDown games and the current ones that are just too confusing. Why can nobody keep controls for a wrestling game simple, or at least

The controls are a mess. It's a horrible mix of the old SmackDown games and the current ones that are just too confusing. Why can nobody keep controls for a wrestling game simple, or at least mindful that not everyone is going to remember 30 button combinations for different situations in a pinch? They also feel a bit sluggish and sometimes did not respond correctly.

The graphics are nothing to write home about. They are maybe a bit better than PS2 era.

This is one of those games I can't be pissed about wasting the money on as I'm laughing at how bad it is. Unless you can see the humor in something this craptacular, avoid this one.

5 Star Wrestling: Regenesis is not a game I could recommend anyone to play. It isn't close to on par to any wrestling games I have played in the past. To start the background music in the menus is atrocious. For example, one of the songs is just a basic rock beat with the singers just repeatedly yelling "America!" over and over again, but then when in the actual match there is no music, or5 Star Wrestling: Regenesis is not a game I could recommend anyone to play. Silence. The controls are so bad it's crazy. The game doesn't feel good, and the controls don't make any sense. To top it all off the gameplay isn't fun, and is quite boring actually. With no sort of story/campaign mode to help it out and just plain matches the game really doesn't have much for redeeming qualities. There isn't even a tournament mode where you can play several matches one after another. I can't recommend the game to anyone, sadly, unless maybe you are a huge fan of the characters in it.

Despite some obvious visual improvements and an ironing out of many of its forbear’s more prominent bugs, 5 Star Wrestling: ReGenesis remains an inherently ugly video game.

Although WWE, WCW and Lucha Libre legend Rey Mysterio has been confirmed for the game and there will be more characters and modes, 5 Star Wrestling ReGenesis still has bugs and wrinkles that will turn away casual gamers. However, if you live and die on wrestling games, it’s a must-play that you’ll have the most fun with in a multiplayer setting.
