    People are being way too hard on this game for no reason. Besides being a little short and slow in control response, this game is awesome. The story is campy like classic horror movies, it has an innovative and interesting drunkenness meter and easter eggs, pop-culture and even cult film references everywhere! It's definitely worth checking out.

    Its important to know going in that this is an indie game, and as such would not compare to most triple A fps games very well. But as an indie game it does a number of things very very right.

    First off the humor is crude, so if marital aides offend stay away. In fact this seems to be where most reviews seem to trip up, guess what? If half naked zombie girls are that offensive this game isn't for you. The controls ar OK, I would prefer them to be tighter but they manage fine. The sound is again spotty, sometimes loud and others to quiet. Voice acting is OK, but the recording is a little low budget think static there are only 4 weapons, strangely that's more then we usually get these days.
    Then the things that got me. First off there are a couple of set pieces in which you make a tiny mistake, die, then have to reload and listen to some grunty dialogue and watch a dorky cut scene before you can retry, there was only 2 of these but they where frustration incarnate. A better retry or check point system would have helped.

    Now the big guy, this game is to damn short, for $15 you get a few hours of fun but it leaves you wanting more, a conclusion, a new weapon. You have to do multiple play through to get all the trophies, so that adds something.

    But honestly, an indie game that ISN'T pixel art retro sidescroller? A shooter that isn't a super serious multiplayer fiasco? A game in general that reminds us of why we play, to laugh tho remember good games passed, and to be hopeful for the future. For every flaw in this game it shows how its fighting against the things that is making gaming stale and boring. Why can't we have silly games? Because not every game is for every gamer.

    Bottom line, good game, its worth it if you miss old school single player fps games, if not pick it up on sale.    … Expand

    Funny fps with a lot of details regarding videogames or other modern subcultures. The execution is not perfect, but once you are inside the game it's easy to not take care of this details. I recommend the game to the same type of people that enjoys games like "Earth Defence Force", for example.

Provided you enjoy some crude humor and can put up with some less than satisfying mechanics, "Zombeer" can prove to be a lot of goofy fun. However I doubt anyone could blame you for passing this up in favor of more polished experiences.     It's a straightforward game. You follow a linear path and blow away any zombies who stand in your way while being treated to some raunchy humor. It's not a long or perfect experience, but the mechanics are solid enough to make it playable and the amount of goofy references and easter eggs you can find here are appealing.

    The controls are awkward in both layout and execution. Movement is really slow. If you played any FPS game in recent years this will be quite noticeable. It's not a huge issue as it's not really a difficult game at all, so a delayed reaction time won't kill you, but the sluggish pace of it all is a bit irritating given how modern shooters have progressed in this area over the years. The button layout maps all of your inputs in a way that makes it feel like an FPS from the PS2 era. None of these issues are particularly terrible, but they show that this game isn't up to the standards we now hold the modern FPS.

    The game's big mechanic it has to set it apart from other games of a similar nature, drinking "Zombeer" to keep yourself from turning is interesting, but ultimately can be a nuisance to have to deal with at times. Having to watch it can kind of get in the way. It's not a big issue to deal with considering how much Zombeer you'll find over the course of your adventure, but ultimately I have to wonder how much better the game would have been without it.

    By far the game's biggest issue though is that you can tell it isn't complete. It can be beaten in about two to three hours, only has a few weapons, and you can see that there are plenty of areas the developers would have liked to expanded upon. Picking up the collectible audio logs found throughout the game and you will hear the developers talk about having a low budget and a long development process. It's clear they struggled making the game, gave up, and got it out the door in a half-completed state hoping to make enough money to make a sequel where they could fully bring their ideas to life. Their hopes for a sequel are another thing talked about in the audio diaries.

    The game has a lot of issues. However that doesn't really change the fact that it's a pretty fun romp through the undead. One worth checking out provided you have the right sense of humor. It's rude, crude, and maybe even offensive to some. However I found quite a few chuckles and enjoyed the mindless shooting. Provided you can put up with it's flaws there is some cheesy, stupid fun to be had here. You have to be in the right mindset to truly put up with it, but honestly the game's title should make that abundantly clear.

    If you are intrigued by what you've heard about the game then pick it up. Those with a more.... appropriate sense of humor who like their games with more refined mechanics should look elsewhere. Personally I hope developer "Moonbite Games" gets to make their sequel that's everything they wanted this game to be. Because honestly this is a pretty entertaining game and I would like to see what else these guys have up their sleeves. It's flawed, dumb, and fun.    … Expand

    A friend warned me against this game but I decided to give it a try anyways. I only tried the demo but I could barely force myself to play this game. The gameplay is horrible, the combat is not satisfying and buggy, the need to constantly consume zombeer in an attempt to qualify as gameplay is just... not good.     eventually you do get a nail gun zombie grenades and a shotgun though…
    but you’ll probably miss the hearts and vibrations...
    Though the shooting and combat here feels awful no matter which weapon you use…and the aiming is awkward
    This game is 2 hours long and takes place inside of a school as you go through looking for the right route.. Keeping your intoxication level just right so you don’t die... and killing all of the zombies in your way...
    That’s it... this is the game…
    The level design isn’t really interesting…
    it’s pretty below average from start to finish
    The most it has going for it is its humor…
    which sort of reminded me of suda 51s lollipop chainsaw at times… not as good obviously..
    But it was enough to keep the experience to this games credits enjoyable...
    The soundtrack here is pretty enjoyable as well though there are few audio bugs that I ran into towards the end of the game where the game just stopped making noise and didn’t come back until I died…
    But the bugs aren’t even the worst part of this game...
    The worst part is its excuses…
    Apparent from the beginning of this review, this team insisted I reminded you they’re indie in my review…
    and throughout the game they constantly remind you how little money they had to make this game through its creator audio collectibles…
    it felt gross, like the team didn’t believe in their own game…
    Zombeer didn’t blow me away, but it was still a mildly enjoyable quick adventure…
    it’s a shame that its own creators have no faith in what they’ve done with the little recourses they had…
    Did I mention they didn’t have a lot of money to make this game?
    Because they didn’t.

    Zombeer is a game I recommend IF You don't mind mediocre games and partake recreational substances(I know some people aren't beer people), those two make it a fun experience . I played it with a 4 pack of Founder's and it worked well enough. This game is a very repetitive shooter, with an interesting balancing mechanic of drinking titular zombeer to maintain your character's humanity, butZombeer is a game I recommend IF You don't mind mediocre games and partake recreational substances(I know some people aren't beer people), those two make it a fun experience . I played it with a 4 pack of Founder's and it worked well enough. This game is a very repetitive shooter, with an interesting balancing mechanic of drinking titular zombeer to maintain your character's humanity, but not too much or your character will die of alcohol poisoning. The weapons are mish-mash of the mundane and insane from a nail gun to a squid launcher...oh and you start off with a purple "personal vibrating massager" as your melee weapon. The game is a rather simple storyline of "Dude save your girl" in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, that much like lollipop chainsaw, has made the local school into hyper-aggressive and somewhat sexually aroused hordes of undead. There are a few twist and turns, as well as 3 "endings" (one is a nonstandard game over, one is a trick to loop you back to the point you make your decision and the final is a striptease by the woman in the bunny costume in all the promo materials). This is more classic doom/quake style of staying mobile while kiting hordes of enemies as you pick them down one by one. As you go along enemy types of several varieties come up, including one that rockets you blood alchol limit up unnaturally and can kill you that way. It's clear the game is designed a silly romp of a game that can be beaten in a normal weekend, and the devs are up front about that. in that way it has a "B-movie" charm to it in that it's clear they didn't have the budget but what they did have was the spirit. Currently 5 bucks on Steam, maybe about the same on PS3.… Expand

    let me just say that this game is completely perfect, the story is hilarious, the graphics are cartoonish and great and the controls for movement and combat are responsive and tight. it's everything you could want in a zombie game!

    Overall Zombeer has the potential to be much much better if the mechanics can be fine tweaked in a patch to make things smoother. The lack of story in a first person shooter isn’t the end of the world, zombie apocalypse or not, but how well you can move through the apocalypse could well be.

    Zombeer is a title in which nothing really works, starting from a repetitive gameplay to many tainted choices of game design. Last but not least, the game features a technical component that would've been criticized on the old PlayStation 2.
