As a wrestling fan who usually likes non-WWE wrestling I say, this game looks the part on many levels. The graphics are excellent despite the uninspiring entrances. And I loved the idea of different arenas around the world, along with their native crowd reactions (The Japanese arena made me "mark out"). The storyline seemed interesting, however there is...a few problems. The wrestlersAs a wrestling fan who usually likes non-WWE wrestling I say, this game looks the part on many levels. The graphics are excellent despite the uninspiring entrances. And I loved the idea of different arenas around the world, along with their native crowd reactions (The Japanese arena made me "mark out"). The storyline seemed interesting, however there is...a few problems. The wrestlers move sets are limited and very similar to each other, all finishers are only from the front of your opponent. The controls are supposedly easy to pick up but difficult to master, but even in easy mode you are lucky to land about 6 out of 10 of the moves you would like to execute, because every move can be easily reversed by the CPU, and in order to perform your own reversals, timing has to be very precise (and even if it's precise, sometimes it feels like trying to get that Plush Toy you want from a Claw Vending Machine.) Every match is a gamble, the tide can change when you look ready to win it.
So to summarise the good and bad: The good is I enjoyed the quirks such as the international arenas, the arcade style of gameplay (at first), the storyline which looked okay and the graphics. The Downsides include the game being too hard even in easy mode, the lack of real depth in the game itself, the lack of championship belts, no TNA knockouts (particularly around the time this game came out, the ladies division had good quality wrestling), and no real customisation or interesting Create A Wrestler.
If you want some good wrestling games & don't care about the current wrestling scene, I would recommend WWE Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain, Smackdown Vs Raw 2006 & Smackdown vs Raw 2010.

In no way shape or form is this wrestling game any fun compared 2 any of the past wwe games from the ps1-ps3, the cheapness of how the moves are executed made me wanna slit somebody else's wrist cuz they were just flat out wack. I know tna is just a continuation of wcw but couldn't impact be a little less gay I mean COME THE "F" ON this game plays as if it should've been on In no way shape or form is this wrestling game any fun compared 2 any of the past wwe games from the ps1-ps3, the cheapness of how the moves are executed made me wanna slit somebody else's wrist cuz they were just flat out wack. lackluster roster, lackluster caw, limited moves, limited game modes, no main event ppv arenas, average gameplay, only one weapon that can be used u can't even check under the apron like in thq wwe games.
realistic character models that's ahead of its time and still better then every wwe 2k game combine even the ones on ps4. but that's the only compliment that i can say about this game.

realistic character models that's ahead of its time and still better then every wwe 2k game combine even the ones on ps4. but that's the only compliment that i can say about this game. the story is mediocre and the wrestler name suicide is average not only in real life but in this game to the point that it's predictable. the fact the southpeak games copy and paste this game for tna impact's cross the line game with the same story is sad bcuz again the story is not even good. repetitive move sets, poor entrances, lack of championship belts, and inconsistent AI: tag team matches in this gsame is infamous for showcasing how bad the AI is
and it has no knockouts in this game Christy Hemme only appeared in this game for cutscenes smh Gail Kim is the first ever tna knockout champion in 2007 before this game was ever announced the fact the no other knockout appeared is questionable

missing match types: Barbed Wire Massacre, King of the Mountain, Monster’s Ball, Six Sides of Steel, Steel Asylum, Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match, Cuffed in the Cage, Doomsday Chamber of Blood, Electrified Steel Cage, Lethal Lockdown, Queen of the Cage, Xscape Match, Full Metal Mayhem, Match of 10,000 Tacks, Prison Yard Match, Reverse Battle Royal, Battle Royale, Best of 3 Falls, Blindfold Match (Prince of Darkness Match), Bullrope Match, Empty Arena Match, First Blood, Ladder Match, Iron Man, Last Rites Match, No DQ, Pole Matches, Revenge Match, Special Referee, (oh and speaking of referee there is no referee ai in the game referee ai has been featured in games since wwf smackdown just bring it)
    smh
Street Fight, Stretcher Match, Tables Match, Weapons Match, Deadly Draw, Hangman’s Horror, Hard 10, House of Fun, MMA Match & Sadistic Madness.
the only available matches that's in this game are the very basic like singles, handicap, Ultimate X, falls count anywhere, falls count anywhere tag, tag team, free for all, and submission.
the only time u get to see the knockouts is on tna extras menu in the highlight reels during the time this game was still in development it plays a taped show of a tna gauntlet match.
the other thing that makes this game bad is the kickout meter it takes too long to fill up its garbage and clearly wasn't tested by any of the teams at midway. the same creators that created mortal Kombat, spy hunter, john Woo's stranglehold game and more.
so, they can clearly make iconic and memorable games, but this game fell so short and missed so many opportunities that it's sad to look back on this game since midway went out of business there was rumors of this game getting a sequel that was gonna have knockouts in it as playable characters and more iconic arenas, but the game got cancelled when midway went bankrupt and out of business. oh, and mike Tenay and don west did a awesome job as expected in commentary.
    and
speaking of knockouts, the ones that should've been in the game as playable characters here's a list of the knockouts that should've been in this game: 2002/2008
Traci brooks, Raisha Saeed, Sharmell, Shelly Martinez as LAX's Salinas, Gail Kim, Velvet Sky, Madison Rayne, Taylor Wilde, SoCal Val, "The Voodoo Queen" Roxxi Laveaux, ODB, Karen Angle, Ms. Texas (Jacqueline Moore), Awesome Kong, Angelina Love, the governor (Daffney), Amber O'Neal, Jackie Gayda, Trinity, Alexis Laree, Ecw's Francine (nwa/tna era)

& 2009/2010 this includes hogan hulk era of tna, tna impact cross the line on psp & ds: Sarita, Tara, Hamada, Daffney, Kristal Lashley, Lacey Von Erich, ODB, Roxxi, Madison Rayne, Traci brooks, Awesome Kong, Angelina Love, Taylor Wilde, Sharmell, Jacqueline Moore, SoCal Val, Christy Hemme, cookie (from jersey shore), Miss Tessmacher, Mickie James & Winter.

so, for anyone that keep saying knockouts wasn't around yet when the games were made hopefully, I put that counter to bed. smh but instead of having any of the knockouts we instead get stupid ready to rumble characters in the game what a missed opportunity these tna games were complete let down!

TNA iMPACT! had a lot of potential, but it didn't follow through on most of it. Beyond the limited/repetitive moves, lackluster CAW, and scaled back online, my main problem is that iMPACT! doesn't feel like real wrestling.
  2. The character models are excellent while the animation is fluid and lively, but the physics of fighting definitely lack polish and can create some frustrating situations. Yet despite these technical shortcomings, it's still great fun to clothesline, drop kick, and power bomb your friends in and out of the ring.
  3. At its best during four player matches, where everyone runs around the ring, bounces off the ropes and delivers bone-rattling special moves. Outside of its enjoyable multiplayer, however, the game isn't much fun.
