My personal favorite episode so far of this second season. I really gave me the feeling that I was in the thick of it. The sense of desperation I felt here really made me question the decisions I had to make. Also, all of the work I had put into building up relationships with these characters really mattered in this episode. I really felt I had to do everything in my power to keep Clementine alive here, and that kept me very invested.

However there is one key issue I found with this episode, and unlike in the previous episodes the issue isn't with a lack of gameplay. The issue I have here is that I don't really care about this new cast anywhere near as much as the old one. The only characters whose fates I actually really care about, are the ones who return from the first season. That made it hard for me to care if the majority of these new characters died, and therefore took out some of the emotion this episode could have otherwise had for me. That's not to say that I dislike the new characters, it's just that the majority of them I don't find as enjoyable as the previous season's. That being said this episode did make a few of them grow on me, so it may be only a matter of time until I like them.

Overall I found this to be the best episode this season has had yet. It's tense, made me question my decisions and who to trust, and there's some actual gameplay here. Here's hoping that the last two episodes continue the upward trend. As of right now I am more excited then ever for the next episode of this season, and if they can make me care about at least the majority of the new cast in the next episode, then maybe my disappointment so far with this season will change. I give this episode a 7.5/10=Good.

beat it in a hour and a have and it was pretty slow and boring episode probably the worst one out of both seasons so far and i would have given it a 5 if it hadn't been for those last 10 minutes hope the next one is good

We're approaching unbroken cutscene territory. [July 2014, p.88]

After two action-heavy episodes, this third part focuses more on the story. Because of this, the interaction is severely limited when compared to previous entries in the franchise, though the story and characters are more than enough to keep you entertained.

"In Harm's Way" doesn't find the same balance of exploration and linearity that mark the very best Telltale episodes, but The Walking Dead's story and protagonists have scarcely been better executed.
