Once again Star Wars in a video-game is a bit of a disappointment, so yes the force powers are still cool, they did correct most of the light saber issues that had the first installment of the Force Unleashed, but at the costs of the story that was very "cliche", also it's a shame that whatever choices you made at the end of the first episode the story you only continue the story if youOnce again Star Wars in a video-game is a bit of a disappointment, so yes the force powers are still cool, they did correct most of the light saber issues that had the first installment of the Force Unleashed, but at the costs of the story that was very "cliche", also it's a shame that whatever choices you made at the end of the first episode the story you only continue the story if you chose the good side, the boss fights are still boring.
Also the campaign is so short and the challenges so useless that you shouldn't expect to have a very long journey in this galaxy far far away...
So yes The Force Unleashed 2 corrected the most annoying point from the previous game but add 2 others (bad story, and too short campaign), they don't handicap the core of the game as did the light saber issues so i guess it's a little better, but still a disappointment, there are other games to do before this one (DMC, God of War, Bayonetta etc...)

Game isn't too bad, but it's not that great either. Story is not very good and it's too short. Graphics are decent. Gameplay is pretty fun though but there's not very much strategy involved, just button mashing.

While I absolutely loved the original, the second installment fails to improve in so many ways. Cato Neimodia is, yes, a very interesting location that isn't seen in the films, but it doesn't excuse the lack of nice, natural, alien environments.

The way the game ends in both the light and dark ending seems to scream 'Wait for DLC to flesh out the lacklustre campaign'. The storyline is nowhere near as good as the original either, with information you gathered from trailers ages ago being pretty much all there is to it - Starkiller may be a clone, and he is finding out who he is. However, the graphics, sound, cinematics and voice acting are all absolutely phenomenal. Sam Witwer's performance blows his already great performance in the original right out of the water. Every actor puts in an even better performance too - it is just a shame we don't hear that much of Nathalie Cox (Juno). The graphics are even more impressive than in the original, however, as stated before, the lack of variety detracts from this a little, but the action is notably crisp, and runs at a very stable framerate too.

Overall, I would suggest if you absolutely loved the original, this is worth buying, but simply be aware it may be better to wait for the obvious DLC, a price drop, or a 'Ultimate' version.

The added "challenge" games available outside of the normal campaign add something as well. You can use them to learn combos, and there are leaderboards so you can compete with your friends for a top score (there are challenges based on time, number of kills, etc.).
The main game is not excessively long, and the story might not be quite as grand as the original's, but the overall experience was very enjoyable, and I'll definitely play through again on the harder difficulties and spend some time pushing my challenge scores up in the leaderboards

biggest disapointment of my life! the degobah level might as well be just a cutscene and youa says two lines in his one appearence. the game is too short and the final boss fight might as well be a cutscene as well, because its too easy. the challenges are terrible and they have too high standards for a gold or platinum medal. at most worth three dollars american.

Star Wars Force Unleashed II was a fantastic game. The story was cool, the graphics were amazing and the gameplay was two times more fun the original. The dual lightsabers were definitely a cool edition to the game and I would say the game's only fault is the length.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I find this game to be a decent game on its own, but not as a sequel. It is not much of, if at all, an improvement over the first game. The story, in my opinion, is mediocre at best. However, it is not a bad story in itself, but the way it is portrayed is below average. It is not a difficult game, UNLESS you are trying to complete the game on Unleashed Difficulty. The levels at first are hard, but you feel as if it won't be futile to try to finish the level at this difficulty. But the Borog level, THE BOROG LEVEL, is one of the hardest levels in any game I have ever played. If you play it on Easy, it is straight-forward, and easy to pick up and play. But on Unleashed, one hit from the Borog will take away 1/6 of your health, so you have to be perfect or the luckiest human being to ever exist. That is why this game receives my GENEROUS score of 5/10. Expand

Well, this wasn't how the sequel to the decent Force Unleashed should've been.

The story revolves around a clone of the original Starkiller for some reason, because Darth Vader apparently thought he was just so great that he needed to make a new one that hopefully wouldn't start the Rebel Alliance this time. This apprentice carries genetic memories Assassin's Creed style of his genetic template, and sure enough, he remembers who he is and proceeds to escape from Vader and The Empire to reunite with the Rebel Alliance. So far, so standard. It's just a shame that the story isn't done nearly as well as the first game was. The Force Unleashed felt like a cohesive story about a guy realizing his potential and choosing the right path. The sequel feels a bit disjointed and rushed, with certain things happening for no real reason. It's a shame that the story itself isn't up to snuff, because the voice acting and dialogue is some of the best I've seen. Anywhere. Characters in the game are likable and their writing is stellar. The game is also about 3 hours long and doesn't really end in a satisfying way like the first game did.

It seems that the effort that once went into the story instead went into the gameplay. The combat is tighter and more responsive than the first game, and the dual blades you now wield lets you become a one-man rave party as you dismember your way through hordes of enemies. The force powers feel just as good as ever, letting you tear apart legions of enemies with a single Force push or burst of Force lightning. You even get a Rage of the Gods mode, this time called Force Fury, that has you throwing out your lightsabers in wide arcs to cut EVERYTHING, and letting you lift up and ragdoll AT-STs for a limited time. However, the enemy design once again isn't the best. In fact, it's worse, now. Advanced enemies fall into a routine of weakening them and then doing a quick-time event. Do that for literally every single one with no variation anywhere. It's boring and tedious to do the same thing over and over and over again with nothing different except for maybe a button press. Then there's the fact that Force push and lightning is the weakness of literally every single enemy in the game, and once you realize that, absolutely nothing presents any challenge whatsoever. That, added with the criminally short story, makes for 3 or 4 hours of repetition that doesn't impress. It would've been great if the combat of this game was put into as story like the first game, but unfortunately no. Then there's the fact that enemy introductions are lame. For EVERY new enemy thrown at you the game goes "hey, look, a new enemy. Here's exactly how you beat it." Then you do the single thing and that's that. The first game introduced new enemies in gameplay with no real fanfare and it certainly didn't give you a damn tutorial on how to beat every single one. It reeks of by-the-numbers we-think-you're-stupid generic gameplay. But, hey, at least the boss battles are better than in the first game. It's just a shame that particular bar to clear is about as easy to cross as a 2 centimeter fence. Being better than the first game doesn't make it good, and the bosses are still just repetitive affairs of "do the thing three times then QTE". You don't even get one-on-one saber duels save for the final fight with Darth Vader. This is why we need a hack-and-slash Star Wars game set in its own contained story without any restrictions, preferably developed by Platinum.

Overall, I don't go back to The Force Unleashed II as often as i do the first game. There are only a handful of really good missions that let you tear apart your enemies and they go down in like half an hour. Yoda is in the game for nothing but fan service, and same with Boba Fett. This game feels like pandering to fans took priority over making an actually good game. It's a shame we won't ever be seeing a good Force Unleashed game (Platinum, pls), because the first game set the franchise off in at least a good way that made me want it to be better, but with the second game, I now know there's no hope of that happening.

To top it off, an experienced player can get through the game in five hours, and there isn't much in terms of replay value. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II is a poorly executed, thoughtless game that is best to be avoided.

Clocking in at a paltry five hours to complete on 'hard', The Force Unleashed II feels shorter than an Ewok's genitals. Length hang-ups aside, Lucasarts has tightened up almost everything iffy about the original game, but they also managed to drop a hydro-spanner into the parts that were working fine to begin with. For example, TFU had a stellar, award-winning Star Wars plot – this sequel's storyline comes dangerously close to breaking established canon and, like Jabba's Sarlacc, it sucks you in, only to take you absolutely nowhere. Star Wars the Force Unleashed II makes up for most of its predecessor flaws, and delivers some terrific action sequences. It's a shame though that the story is simply non existent and the whole adventure lasts some 5 hours. It really seems like the developers can't make this saga right, leaves us waiting for a new hope.
