I had never played any of the Sly Cooper games, but decided to pick up the HD trilogy on PSN. First off the price on PSN is extremely affordable, especially with all the content it includes. I just finished the first game of the trilogy, and it's hard for me to really get hooked to a game but I beat this game in two sittings, would probably have been one if I wasn't gonna sleep. This is an amazing platformer, and it's also the best platformer I have played since Super Mario 64. The graphics look great, the animations are good and the gameplay is really really good. The level design is great and almost every level in the game is fun to play. The story is ok, nothing special to me, but it's not bad. There's hidden clues on every level, if you collect all of them in a level you will be able to open a vault, in which you will learn a new ability. This is a good reason to go back and play the levels and it's actually fun to explore the levels and look for them. Highly recommended game. Expand

Fun game that is free for ps plus users for march! First game in the series that I have played and I think it is great. One hit deaths are not cheap, as it is easy to plow through the game. Easiest platinum and only platinum i've gotten since getting my ps3 last holiday. The story is fun, the levels are varied, and the platforming is mixed up with little minigames. It is a fun time. Try it out.

SLY COOPER AND THE THEVIUS RACCOONUS REVIEW

When I was little, I used to play the Sly Cooper games. 12 years have passed, now I have finally replayed through the first one. I thought that I wasn’t going to like this game as much as I used to because of no nostalgia goggles. I was wrong. I really enjoyed this game. The game play is very linear, but enticing that way. The story is straightforward. The story is pretty much Kill Bill without outright murder. The core of the game is within three awesome characters: Sly, Bentley and Murray. The way the three characters play off each other in (not just this game) but all of the games is simply wonderful to watch.

The villains, like most villains in Sly Cooper games, are over the top, mustache-twirling villains, and that is completely fine with me. All of the back stories are amusing to watch. The boss battles range from extremely hard (Mz. Ruby, Clockwerk) to very easy (Panda King). One portion of the game that kept me engaged throughout the game was getting the clues and unlocking the safes. The moves and techniques gotten were all useful throughout the game play. As of right now, I cannot think of any flaws. Some may say that the length of the campaign is a flaw, however, considering the amount of treasures and time challenges are in the game; the length reaches the standard amount. The game is definitely a classic and should be played by many for years to come.

OVERALL OPINION: This is game is a classic that deserves to be played by as many people as possible.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus is a fun little platforming title with strong, polished gameplay, smooth HD graphics and a lot of style. While it may fall short in a few areas, such as voice acting, it's a strong and well rounded platformer, well worth a play for fans of the genre. Final Score: 7.4/10

Graphics: Still hold up, but comparing graphics would best be compared to all the other HD remakes. It does look great but I have seen better HD remakes. 8.5.

Sound: Known sly character voices overs which are good, theme songs that match in with the sneaking gameplay. Nothing that really stands out though. Still great! 8.5. Gameplay: Excellent stealth platforming, this was

Gameplay: Excellent stealth platforming, this was definitely a hit when it first hit the PS2 and it still holds up today. The sequels do a great job expanding an already expanded game. 9.

Story: It was a good story, had a great ending, some type of romance as well. 9.

Replay Value: Cheap price, worth getting, extras for collectibles, main game around 6 hours. 10.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Racoonus was one of my favorite games on the Playstation 2. I beat it multiple times back then and needed a reason to play it again. This HD remaster was my reason.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus was a blast to play!
The original game was a 3D Platformer on the Playstation 2, so you know what to expect with this remake.
So, what makes this game unique? Well, the artstyle and characters definitely stand out, if you look at any promotional material for the game you'll see what I mean. But gameplay is definitely king here. Sly Cooper plays

But gameplay is definitely king here. Sly Cooper plays kind of like a modern Crash Bandicoot with some stealth elements sprinkled in.
Something remarkable about this game were the collectables. There are about 30 clue bottles in each level. Once you collect them all you can open a hidden safe in the area which gives Sly a new move to use (e.g. a dive jump).

Verdict: If you like 3D platformers definitely try this game out.
