    The first thing you'll notice when starting up this game is how bad the graphics are. This last-gen version didn't get much attention in that department. However if you are looking for some extremely satisfying mysteries to solve and don't have a PS4 or Xbox One it's a minor issue that won't hinder your enjoyment of this fine game.

    It's truly a game that makes you feel like a detective.    The first thing you'll notice when starting up this game is how bad the graphics are. This last-gen version didn't get much attention in that department. However if you are looking for some extremely satisfying mysteries to solve and don't have a PS4 or Xbox One it's a minor issue that won't hinder your enjoyment of this fine game.

    It's truly a game that makes you feel like a detective. The cases and characters are excellently written. It's up to the player to be thorough in their investigations. Overlooking a piece of evidence because you didn't carefully search the environment could have you missing out on a very important clue. It's up to you to figure out who is behind the crime in each of the six cases. Are you smart enough to figure out who really did it?

    The game's biggest strength is that it can make you feel as smart as Sherlock Holmes himself. Interrogations, autopsies, experiments, and recreations of the crime are all apart of the regular gameplay. The game will even have you tinkering with chemistry. These moments are all done through what I guess you could call mini-games. These sometimes one-off scenarios are the game's best moments and are a heck of a lot of fun.

    With cases that can conclude in multiple ways, top-notch writing, and the fact that it's all influenced by player choice make it an extremely compelling experience. It introduced me to a new genre of adventure games and I can't wait to take up the guise of Sherlock Holmes in the future. It's elementary, my dear Watson. This game is a must play.

    This game was good. Enjoyable if you like adventure genre games that are point and click (it does have some action sequences but is mainly point and click exploring). Good story lines, interesting cases though puzzles can be sometimes boring and tedious.

    I should start by saying that I'm a life-long fan of Holmes, so maybe I'm a bit biased.
    I really enjoyed this game. It's by far the best of any of the Holmes adventures Focus has delivered. As in the others, the voice acting is uneven at best. I think the writing is a bit better than previous entries, but there are still some lines that no actor could deliver well.

    Having multiple cases to solve plays far better than one, long case like "The Testament of Sherlock Holmes" was.
    The upgrade to the Unreal Engine works well and they try to show that off by setting the Cases in visually interesting places like The Royal Gardens at Kew and an Ancient Roman Bath under reconstruction and such. I don't think it's worth the extra money for the PS4 version however, so go with the PS3 if you still have one.
    Overall 7.5 but rated an 8 to give it the benefit of the half-point that can't register.    … Expand
