I'm only about 3 hours into the campaign right now, but so far, all I can say is that this is the most fun I've ever had with an FPS. It all comes down to one thing: The Guns. They never get old either, because you are constantly being introduced to new guns, and your old ones get upgraded as you use them. The graphics are "different" but not bad, kinda artsy in a way. The environments are pretty cool, and the levels are well designed. The story is also quite compelling. This is definitely the best of the series, and like I said before, this is my new favorite FPS. Bottom line: BUY THIS GAME.

Update: I am much farther in the campaign now, and it's still pretty good. Another bonus is that the campaign is quite long, longer than I expected. The plot has gotten even better and I feel real attachment to the characters and their situation. It's really quite good,

The upgrade system is fantastic and is a great addition. The story is everything you have come to expect from the Resistance series which is a definitely a plus and the dire situation injected into the story is perfectly conveyed throughout the entire game. I am going to play through again in co-op and finish upgrading my weapons and I haven't touched the multiplayer yet on the retail copy. Everything I experienced from the beta from the last month leads me to believe I am going to spend quite a bit of time with multiplayer from here on out. The multiplayer in my opinion is just as polished as COD, Halo & Battlefield but you are just dealing with a more basic concept in R3 and not as intricate. The single player competes with any of those games as well and is very immersive so I would suggest this game to newcomers to the series as well. I could not have asked for any more in my Resistance experience. Expand

Nothing to write home about. The only unique bit from r2 has been removed. Fails to break the mold and doesn't differentiate from anything else in the sci fi fps genre.

The unique multi-player part from R2, has been removed. The PVE part was the greatest thing ever seen, and now they totally destroy it with just an abnormal FPS. Multi-player part: PVP only. This is just a Half-Life, U-Torrent, Quake look a like.... Have never ever been so desapointet, was so looking forward for this game. Dead Island will be my thing instead.

Resistance 3 is a wonderful game. The story is amazing, and the controls are fluid that even my friend who's used to playing pc games can play it. What iResistance 3 is a wonderful game. The story is amazing, and the controls are fluid that even my friend who's used to playing pc games can play it. Campaign: The story is well thought out but can seem lazy at times. The campaign is like a roller coaster when it comes to difficulty, from being a cakewalk to it just ramming you with snipers and nearly impossible hoards of enemies. What i dislike about the campaign is 1. Sometimes it just gets too impossible that you need to just put it down for a minute; and 2. That if one person dies when you're co-oping with someone, then it's basically a game over. Not as in "oh no, i can't do this alone" but as in "wtf, the game ended and now we need to start back here?." So the campaign does have some flaws, but those flaws can make it or break it for the players. Moving on to Multiplayer: Ah multiplayer, a large portion of the game that decides whether it's a buy or a rent to the player. The multiplayer is somewhat disappointing. with only few weapons but many perks, it does get boring after a little. There is no team balance, and you unlock weapons and perks based on level, together you get unbalanced games where the team that almost always wins are the ones with wildfires (the rocket launchers of this game), which are unlock only at a high level! And the killing sprees are just ridiculous. Not ridiculous as in "HOLY **** but ridiculous as in "Was that it?" Though don't get me wrong, the multiplayer can get a little wild and is worth playing. Overall Resistance 3 is just an amazing game with flaws that can shy a player away from buying it, but if you can overlook these flaws then you'll find yourself addicted to this game. Expand

Resistance 3 is OK. It's plot is fine but nothing special. The graphics are quite drab but fit the world well. Some of the weapons are kooky and unique but none of them are particularly satisfying. The combat is mostly decent but also extremely generic. That's enough to just about save Resistance 3 from the scrap-pile, but it's a close call. Expand

Somewhat fun, but boring and repetitive. Then, you reach the tower and while trying to enter the tower, they make it impossible to get into because of the relentless waves of enemies and no ammo. It was ridiculous.

As much an improvement over R2 as R2 was over R1, a pleasure to play and much, much better than its "only on PlayStation" contemporary (Killzone). Weapons and enemies are imaginative and varied (as well as familiar) and a pleasure to encounter, even the huge (awesome) boss creatures. Setting and art style are unique and detailed. Great stuff all around.

Honestly, I'v never been really impressed by the Resistance series that much. I've always thought of them as just good games. Nothing amazing, or great. It just could be told so much better. Anyways, putting all of that aside. Resistance 3 does stand out to be the best Resistance game yet. With the great looking new HD graphics, Resistance has never looked better. Gameplay also feels improved and much smoother. The story did have more emotion to it, which is good. It's nice to actually want to feel something for these characters.

Although campaign is my strong point in any game, the multiplayer is pretty much as good as it gets. Fans may be disappointed that the amount of players in a match have lowered from 60 to 16 players, but it's still the same fun experience.

So all around, Resistance 3 is a good game, but does not stand out to many of the other great titles this year. Don't see it being nominated for any "Game of the Year" awards. However, this is just my opinion.

Again, this game only improved the graphics. The theme is different this time, no more military theme, more like a post-apocalypse theme. Nothing is really good, the whole thing actually quite cliche with generic story and generic characters. No boss fights, only swarm of enemies. This game is only for the series' fans, and also for FPS hardcore.

If this game was called something other than Resistance, it might have been a good game, but its not.

The story is around 5 hours long. The core mechanics that were present in the previous titles are gone. The protagonist was replaced with a good character, that was not properly played out in this game. The pacing of the story is off as well. The AI is crap.

What insomniac did in their 3 to 4 years of development was that they took everything Call of Duty stands for and Threw a coat of Resistance on it and called it their game. Resistance 3.

The only thing I found good about this game were the graphics and some of the detailing to the weaponry and it effects, such as the mutator, and the atomizer.

The game was also falsely advertised. In a trailer they show a group of people heading to new York together. And in another there is a little girl who begins to follow Capelli to NY as well. None of these details came into the game at all. You stuck with one other character for the time being. A lot of the road you were alone. Sure they had communication with certain characters but it made it feel forced. Many times when you would need dialog it was not there, and then at other times they threw it in for the hell of it.

As for MP, They got rid of the clan system, went from 60 players online to 16. Went from an all out war to a camp fest. Put in perks that allowed you to get ammo, and let you spawn with a rocket launcher. WOW Just shoot away and spawn trap. Players had no chance. The game went from Resistance to Call of Duty in 3 years. Sad.

The game was a really disappointing installment, and I am glad Insomniac is no longer on this franchise. This franchise is in need of a reboot. All thanks to this installment.

Resistance 3, according to the developers, was an attempt to focus on a few things intensely instead of doing a whole lot of things like in Resistance 2. What's is funny to me is that, despite the effort to make Resistance 3 the best, it feels like the worst in many ways.

Where as the story of Fall of Men and 2 felt epic, with high stakes and characters that would be memorable, the story of Resistance 3 feels like a spin-off rather than a sequel. Capelli, who was a testosterone fueled a-hole in 2, is now suddenly a run of the mill 'i'll do anything to safe my over expressive wife and child' hairy guy that whines a lot.

The scary tone of the game is mostly gone as human enemies are introduced (boring), enemy designs look more cartoon-ish (why?) and the cutscenes are focused on humans rather than the Chimera.

Having the weapon wheel back was fun, but didn't add much other than using the appropriate weapon for the specific enemies. Standing on a boat that prohibits you from moving in a level, but forces you to listen to radio chatter is not fun. Who thought that would be appealing to fans of a horror FPS game?

The way guns evolve is cool, and some of the weapons like the mutator are a lof of fun to use. The enemies however are not much more than Sniper unit, Rifle unit and other-knock offs. What saddens me most is the lack of variety in the levels and bosses. Resistance 2 was packed with this, and in 3 it comes down to just a handfull clumsy encounters.

Having waited 3 years to see what happens after the cliffhanger ending of 2, i was very disappointed. I was expecting a final clash in the sense of The Matrix Revolutions, where two unstoppable entities would clash to determine who would be the dominant species on Earth. But NO! What we got was a road trip across the boonies to destroy a terraformer. Great writing Insomniac... Yuck.

Resistance 2 will always be my favorite entry in the series, and even though i didn't like part 3 as much as the previous games i do find it a good enough game. I just wished that it wasn't the last one in the main series.

The variety and originality of the weapons, a well known trace of the series, is back and improved. Enemy AI is very impressive and atmosphere, one of this title strong points, is truly remarkable. The combination of the stylized, expressive, melancholic and gritty art-style with interesting, emotional and dark music produce a very immersive gaming experience.

The only negative aspects of this game are the initial installation and patching, but these two points are not direct related to the great and unique gaming experience this game offer.

Resistance 3 and Dark Souls are, in my opinion, the best games of 2011.

Fanboys are raging about the game not doing anything outside the box but what about the weapon wheel and health system? Resistance 3 is probably the only FPS of this generation where you can carry more than 3 guns and it doesn't has the auto-regeneration health that Halo made so popular back in the day. The truth is that Resistance 3 packs a great story even thought the ending was a disappointment. The gameplay is oldchool (I bet most of you started playing the genre with Halo so I don't think you'll know what I mean by "oldschool") but feels new and it's responsive. Graphics are pretty good but the animations are a bit stiff. The multiplayer is no Call of Duty but can be enjoyable for quite a while.

Resistance 3 is one of the finest shooters I have ever played, after experiencing resistance 2, which was one of my biggest let downs of a game ever due to its shoddy graphics. I was reluctant to to buy resistance 3, however what a transformation this is. The story is fantastic, and very gripping, giving you the feel of hopelessness, despair as you fight for even a stutter of freedom. I was reluctant to to buy resistance 3, however what a transformation this is. The story is fantastic, and very gripping, giving you the feel of hopelessness, despair as you fight for even a stutter of freedom. The graphics are also much improved, and environments are finely detailed, and atmospheric, accompanied by the music giving a great overall cinematic feel.

The gameplay is sweet also, as you advance through the game, a great arsenal of weapons become available, that you can level up, the more you use them, the more powerfull they become. Theirs some great moments here, nothing that hasn't been done before, but it's all done so well, with great attention. If you have any doubts that I had when I bought this then you should bite the bullet and give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

They say the show must go on and in the Resistance world there are still questions to be answered, but the disappointing nature of this third instalment and its failure to deliver at retail most likely means this is the last release in the series. Perhaps such an end is the best option all round.

Resistance 3 does plenty. It's beautiful, thrilling, and-quite unexpectedly-contains one of the most memorable campaigns this side of Halo and Half-Life. In a year full of Sony-branded disappointments, Insomniac has produced an absolute gem.

As a conclusion to the franchise (no doubt pending an awkwardly justified fourth game and spin-offs), Resistance 3 manages to send it off as gracefully as possible.
