    Wonderful game! It has an amazing art direction, beautiful graphics, perfect gameplay even on the ps3 even though it's an FPS since usually FPS is only good even on the PC. Sony is full of amazing games, why doesn't it revive these franchises instead of crying over the COD developer

    Resistance moves to a post-apocalyptic setting where you are at war not only with the Chimera, but also the dregs of humanity. It can sometimes feel like an inferior knock off of Half Life 2, but the action packed gameplay, nice atmospheric graphics and evolving weapons system make for another entertaining FPS.

I felt there was an obvious lack of effort in that regard and I’m disappointed that the stunning ending of Resistance 2 was not fully capitalized on. Despite this, the upgradeable weapons, boss fights, and overall action is very rewarding and worth experiencing.     This game has one of the absolute best shooter campaigns, it also comes with co-op mode. The weapon wheel returns and the weapon upgrade system is a really nice addition. Enemies are varied, health doesn't regenerate, graphics hold up well and cutscenes look amazing. Much better than most shooters out there for sure. The only thing I don't like is the rushed ending. Resistance is not over.This game has one of the absolute best shooter campaigns, it also comes with co-op mode. The weapon wheel returns and the weapon upgrade system is a really nice addition.     Resistance 3 surpreende em muitos aspectos se comparado ao seus antecessores. Com uma jogabilidade refinadíssima, gráficos espetaculares e uma história minimamente interessante sob um novo ponto de vista, Resistance 3 é, para mim, o melhor da franquia.

    Uma pena que para os fãs mais conservadores, uma mudança radical demais na franquia.

    Resistance is a Franchise that gets better and better after each game. This is an end of a Franchise and maybe a new beginning to something new, I hope INSOMNIAC don't forget where they came from. It seems that they haven't and are    A solid game from start to finish, Spectacle and all, but it's just missing that Resistance Flair, but this overall is a Quality and Enjoyable game.

    Way better than I expected! I hadn't played any other Resistance games before this, just for reference. It's basically Gears of War mixed with Metro and way better weapons. Most of the reason this game is memorable is due to the set piece battles. Tons of epic moments and edge of your seat gun fights where you just barely survive.     This is the best game in the resistance series. It has a very good gameplay, it presents the ending of the story in a good way and visually it looks incredible. highly recommended.

    Resistance 3 is unjustly underrated. It is a best episode of the series. I point only single player. Today's game can learn how to look like we shooter from the first person.

    Best chapter of the whole trilogy. If you add to this game 1080p, better textures and smoothing, it will be similar to the game from PS4. The design of everything in the game is very good, nice picture at all. I liked shooting mechanics, you can finally carry more than 2 weapons. A more interesting plot, real adventure, although the ending is too obvious, just a happy ending. In general,Best chapter of the whole trilogy.     This was my first PS3 game, and it was an awesome experience for a new gamer. I´m not a huge fan of shooters, but this one it´s really enjoyable, loved the enemies and the weaponds. Definitely, must play.

    I played this when I was a kid and never got to finish it. 8 years later and this is still a revolutionary game for me. They hold nothing back and throw everything at u with something new every chapter in this 20 chapter game. To be able to go back in 2020 and feel something unique that's 8 years old is refreshing. Thank you

    It's like Half-Life 2 with a totally different plot and more fun weapon variety. A game that will probably be overlooked by most but is easily worth any FPS fan's time.

    I've finished the game yesterday after playing it for over a year with friend in a co-op. Obviously it took us so long because we were meeting for a game sessions once a month or two. Sometimes break was so big that we need to relearn controls again. Anyway, it is one of the best co-op games for PS3, it is even better in this regard than Resistance 2, because it allows you to play wholeI've finished the game yesterday after playing it for over a year with friend in a co-op. Obviously it took us so long because we were meeting for a game sessions once a month or two. Sometimes break was so big that we need to relearn controls again. Anyway, it is one of the best co-op games for PS3, it is even better in this regard than Resistance 2, because it allows you to play whole campaign together. Third instance of Resistance offers improvements almost in every aspect in comparison to the second game.

    Graphics is better, much better. Sound and music is in superb quality too. Story is very interesting, you travelling for the large part of the U.S. meeting interesting locations. Also I am glad that they have resigned from this "only two weapons at the time" system. Now you can have access to all weapons and the weapons itself are amazing! Another thing worth mentioning is that you gain experience in each weapon and it gets more powerful within time.

    Of course the game is not perfect. Sometimes I did not like the fact that enemies hit you with so big accuracy. From time to time you will find yourself hiding behind a cover pressed by massive fire. However, in this situation auger (special kind of a gun) can help you ;-)

    Anyway, to sum it up. This game is great, no matter if you play solo or co-op. If you play co-op buy yourself a LG TV with dual play option :) The game is dirt cheap this days and it offers a ton of fun. I do really hope that Insomniac change their minds and release Resistance 4 for PS 4!    … Expand

    A Fantastic game. To this days (2014) it is one of the best shooters in ps3. It is intense, engaging, a very good story, great graphics, great weapons. And it is diverse and fun to play. Every time (since the first one) something is going on in the game. There is not a dull moment. By the way, the whole Resistance series stands as one of the best exclusives ever realeased for the Playstation.

    In short I would recommend the game, to anyone. I mean I loved the game, yet I personally find FPS’s a bit repetitive. I would also suggest playing the game over in normal, them if you want to replay the campaign play it in hard mode, you can change the difficulty at any time so don’t worry about it being too difficult/too easy.

    In my opinion the greatest thing about the game is the combat. This is a great balance between horror and action, and the game never lets you forget it. This fine balance is achieved largely due to the fact that most of the time, you fight alone and unlike other FPS at no point can you rely on any NPC (apart from towards the end). This balance is further enhanced through the sheer variety of enemies, as you fight Chimeras (which act like alien human with weapons), Ferals (with zombie like creatures enhancing horror elements in the game) and even Humans at one point. Each variety of enemies has a unique look and fighting style. My favourite enemy is the Window Maker which acts like a massive armoured spider. This variety of enemies is made clear towards the end of the game when the Feral and Chimeras clash and you (Joseph) find yourself in the fight. The combat is enhanced by the variety of weapons (12 in total) with my favourite being the Rossmore (shotgun). Each weapon improves from level one to three, with great improvements, e.g. the Rossmore eventually fires fire rounds that deal extra damage.

    The next great thing about the game is the level design. Each chapter offers a unique setting, as you find yourself fighting in a prison, city scape, sewers etc. Such designs are enhanced by the constant feeling of being alone in an unwinnable fight, mainly towards the later stages of the game. My favourite chapter is chapter 17 in particular the fight with a Window Maker when you have to alternate between fighting in a subway against the Chimeras or on the surface fighting a dominating Window Maker. Also within new chapters come new weapons which help to mix combat up, e.g. the first time you unlock the Wildfire (rocket launcher) you have to use it to destroy an Chimera aircraft. What is also great about the level design is that the very nature of them in combination with the enemies in the levels, and limited ammunition, forces you to use all the different enemies enhancing the sense of desperation.

    With regards to the story I personally liked it. You play as Joseph Capelli a disgraced army soldier who lives with his wife Susan and kid Jack. However through a series of events he his forced to leave them and travel to New York City to try and defeat the Chimera. While the core of the story is very predictable as it is essential a journey, I liked the large amount twists in the story in particular (spoiler) when Dr.Malikov is brutally murdered by Mick Cutler, leader of the Wardens (cannibal humans) who them takes you to his prison. However the predictable does reduce the interesting nature of the story. Furthermore the story is rather short and some of the twists feel more like padding e.g. the meeting of a religious group who want you to fight a creature they call “Satan”. Henceforth the story is not really great.

    However the game falls flat in a few areas. The most annoying is how partner A.I is largely poor and they offer very little aid in combat. However this isn’t too bad because you fight mostly on your own. While the enemy A.I is mostly good the use of enemy’s suicidal charging can get a bit repetitive.

    The next annoying thing is the glitches. They are some problems with lip syncing in the cut scenes at some points. There is also an annoying effect that when NPC are doing something that requires you to protect them, they will sometimes stop and just wonder about. That said these glitches/bugs are rare and something I can’t be too critical about.

    The final criticism of the game is how the weapons aren’t as unique as they should be. I mean one of them is a sledgehammer you will use only in a small section of the game. Furthermore the Marksmen, Bullseye and M5A2, feeling very similar as they just machine guns. Nevertheless weapons like the HE.44 Magnum and the 4 different types of grenades more than make up for this slight mess up.    … Expand

    I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun I had playing this game. While the game took me about 8-9hrs on difficult to beat the good story kept me intrigued. The game looks good with awesome sound to boot. This game has high paced action with a good assortment of weapons. I highly recommend a play through of this game.

    Hell, that was a great game. Very variable with many good moments. Graphics and the story are very good. In my opinion the best resistance, even though I liked the more colored style of the second part more. Get it!

Each character just suffers from being extremely unlikable this is because the game tries too hard for the player to feel emotionally attach to the main character and the search for his family but sadly the general dialog of the game is just lazy everything just seems to be very forced and some cheesy one liners can definitely get you out of the story.
    Aside from that the gameplay of Resistance 3 is excellent giving back the player the old gameplay mechanics from resistance 1 only way more tweaked than ever.
    You can carry an arsenal of weapons each one of them feeling extremely different from the last and really unique for different enemy encounters, every gun just feels great when you're using it.
    Of course the game can definitely have his negative parts by having tedious parts when you have to move a lever to open certain door, or passage way but they never have a reason more than give you the illusion that the game has variety in terms of gameplay, it can get really frustrating not to find a lever that opens up a passage way so your buddy can get into the exact same room with you only to find out he could had get to that room himself just by following you.
    There are other times where the atmosphere of the game is broken by the own game, there were times where i would be in a really stretch dark room filled with Chimeran eggs, this could be a perfect scenario for suspense or horror if they add a couple of those eggs hatching and realeasing bizarre Chimeran creatures form them, but instead they give you one of the most powerful guns in the game (the Atomizer) and wait for you until you get out of that scenario to a wide open bright warehouse where they finally decide to start spawning the bizarre creatures, it just feels like a waste of time.
    Even then the voice acting in the game is another thing that doesn't impress, most of the background characters are going to have barely decent voice acting wich can drew you off the experience just by how laughable the combination of really bad dialog with decent voice acting can be.

    The verdict for me is an eight out of ten
    the gameplay is incredible if i had to rate the game based off only that i would probably rate the game almost a 10 but sadly the full package gets affected by the awful dialog, the boring non interesting story
    and the sad but not terrible voice acting aside from that solid graphics and incredible gameplay manage to save Resistance 3 from being as dull and boring as his predecesor.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am so happy that they toke the coop in the campaign mode back. And i wanted so bad to get the creepy atmospher back. But infortunatly they have made this game in to a completly action shooter. But i can't help my self from saying that it is a god damn good game. They made the story line much better. And damn it is fun to play with friends. They have set the difficulty a lot higher. So it will be more difficult to finish. It has some awesome new guns that you will have a lot of fun with. They kept the boss fights in the game from the second game but there is nearly not any of them anymore which is a bit annoying if you ask me. So they kept a lot of the mechanics from the first game and not that much from the second game. Not that strange after a lot of people hated on the game. But i think that the second game had a lot of idears that would fit this game very well. But all in all this game is great. And probably the best game in the series.… Expand

    High quality game. So happy to have discovered this franchise and since playing this I have played Burning Skies and purchased Resistance 2. (Burning Skies is very weak compared to this game tho). This game is fresh. I started this game playing with the Move sharpshooter and was much happier playing with a dualshock 3. The campaign is a good length, and very satisfying. The multiplayer is also a fresh take, though prepare to get slaughtered. People who started the multiplayer on day 1 have significant upgrades like shields and disguises so getting kills in order to rank up to level the playing field is going to take a lot of time and may lead to frustration. I play the mulitplayer just to change things up from CoD. If you own a PS3 system you should play this game. Maybe the best campaign I've ever played.… Expand

    The best things about this game great story, unlimited weapons, split-screen campaign co-op and health packs are the same things that show how schizophrenic Insomniac is, since R2 had none of these, whereas R1 had them all. At any rate, the return of these was muchly appreciated, along with the excellent acting, music, and of course awesome weapons to kill the chimera with. The weapon-upgrade system was a brilliant addition setting grims on fire with a shotgun is some of the most fun I've ever had. The pacing was great as well, with some relentless action scenes that had me frantically running full-tilt around the map to avoid a killing blow, as well as stealth sequences that had me creeping slowly through the woods to avoid detection by snipers. Boss battles were enjoyable again, although I did feel like I fought one brawler too many mixing it up with a titan instead would have been better. And, the lack of vehicles and offline 4-way split screen multiplayer keep this from being 10 stars, but overall a really great game that redeemed the series from the mistakes of R2.    … Expand

    I picked this up cheap because I wanted to try out a 3D shooter on my new telly and I was blown away, not just by how pretty this game looks in 3D but by how tense the gameplay was and the incredible atmosphere that ran throughout the campaign. This is without a doubt my favourite resistance game and if anyone wants to play an FPS that gets away from the none stop shooting and actuallyI picked this up cheap because I wanted to try out a 3D shooter on my new telly and I was blown away, not just by how pretty this game looks in 3D but by how tense the gameplay was and the incredible atmosphere that ran throughout the campaign. This is without a doubt my favourite resistance game and if anyone wants to play an FPS that gets away from the none stop shooting and actually makes the effort to draw you into it's world then definitely give this game a go...     This was an amazing gaming experience. The action was great, fast paces and FUN. I loved the single player, it had great enemy A.I. and a fantastic main character. Had amazing weapons, mechanics and enemy variety. On the other hand the multi-player, while repetitive was easy to just pick up and play. Best shooter of 2011 and in top 5 best fps of the decade yet (2011-2013).

    This game is great, it tries not to be like the average modern FPS. The atmosphere is amazing and the 1st third of the campaign is almost completely grey. The multiplayer however, is watered down from resistance 2. At a technical point the game's graphics are good but are not as good as games like Halo or Killzone. The story is thrilling and the 3D works well. Overall 8.3/10 Great

    After having played Resistance 2 and using the jump between 1 and 2 to gauge the quality of three, I can only say that three was highly unexpected. As always the graphics were the first thing that I was judging and I was fairly impressed by the leap over R2. Textures were better, I can't say the lighting changed a whole lot, but from design standpoint things looked rich in detail and notAfter having played Resistance 2 and using the jump between 1 and 2 to gauge the quality of three, I can only say that three was highly unexpected. As always the graphics were the first thing that I was judging and I was fairly impressed by the leap over R2. Textures were better, I can't say the lighting changed a whole lot, but from design standpoint things looked rich in detail and not clunky like R2. I don't intend to bash Resistance 2 as it wasn't a terrible game, but after it being a let-down I am entirely impressed by how much I enjoyed Resistance 3. A lot of the gameplay seemed to have been revised including the health and weapons systems. Instead of regenerative health I was given health packs that made me conscientious of running out into fire and not just run, gun, hide repeat. From a weapons standpoint, having a wheel along with a selection of every gun you've gotten to this point was fantastic. I get that for some people it is brings along a loss of immersion but for me it was a matter of utility and being able to fully enjoy the game how I wanted it to play it without the restrictions of having done a level "right" to be prepared. In addition to having access to a larger load-out weapon-leveling was introduced which brought along some cool rewards for finding a couple of guns you were good at and learning how to wreck enemies with them. The story was the next big point that seemed to separate itself from R2. Where Resistance 2 was a continuation of Fall of Man and a boring one at that, Resistance 3 tied back into the story yet introduced the element of a new character and persona that you take on. Instead of a "I'm going to save the world because I'm a soldier" attitude, I got the feeling that my character had a reason to push forward and move and I didn't feel like I was pushing on just because. I can't quite describe the difference between the two in words but simply put I could have cared less about Resistances 2's plot line and I felt sucked into the Resistance 3. I recall Resistance: Fall of Man having an award winning sound track and after feeling the thrill of moving through dimly lit area in 3 and realizing it was the music that was driving that emotion I realized how much the soundtrack could contribute to a Resistance game. All of that praise aside, there were several times were the audio was off for multiple minutes were only my gun was making a delayed sound and environment noises would only kick in during those times. I'm glad I set aside my doubts after Resistance 2 because I would have missed out on a truly great title.… Expand

    This game is truly something unique nowadays, because of its old school nature. This is obvious because of two reasons. First, health packs are present, with not even a hint of regenerative health. I love that. Second, almost the entire game, the player is alone. Sure, there are some NPCs accompanying him sometimes, but the one man army feel of the old shooters is back. There will never be a squad with you, annoying you with their bad AI. I love that even more.

    Resistance 3 is the best of the 3 installments. Resistance 1 was awesome, Resistance 2 was not that good. This is why i assume Resistance 3 did not sell well but overall this is very good franchise. Highly recommended !

    Resistance has always been one of my favorite series on the ps3. I have been a fan since resistance was the first major FPS multiplayer on the ps3. Then came resistance 2, where the single player storyline was amazing but the multiplayer lacked greatly, They modified the best game modes from the first game and made them significantly worse. The series conclusion left me hanging off the edge of my seat while playing the final level and throughout the entire story. There are some amazing cut scenes which is a little new to the other games for there weren't too many that brought emotion out of me like this game The different types of enemies keep you interested in the game as well as the many different types of weapons. Unlike Call of Duty where your just killing soldiers in Resistance you have different types of soldiers where you have to change your strategy in order to have a better chance of killing the chimera. The graphics of the game are as good as they have been although there wasn't any wow moments like the moment of San Francisco in R2. Now to the multiplayer, although i was upset its ranged away from the multiplayer in the first resistance, i will settle on this multiplayer. For starters it takes less time to kill enemies which i think is a much better approach, Insomniac decided to keep the humans vs. the chimera like in R2 which i do not mind but i also do wish that there was a custom game option where you could do humans vs humans and change the damage like in Resistance Fall of Man. But in conclusion, the game is a good game to end the fabulous series which was one of the most entertaining ps3 exclusives along with uncharted, infamous, and god of war.     this is a great game with the best story in the series and the multiplayer is really fun the only thing that i wished they would have done is kept certain aspects of the multiplayer and put it in with the new stuff they added to it and mixed them together the graphics are decent but that doesnt bother me much

The Multiplayer has been greatly improved from the original bringing in more Custom Class and ranking system and ofcourse Prestige. Keep in mind this is the first time I've ever touched the sharpshooter. Any who, the controls with the dual shock are great, the game is handled well as a FPS controls should be. I love the resistance series probably one of my favorite fps series ever, Insomniac did not fail to disappoint with R3. The story isn't that long it may have taken me a little over 10 hours which is around the standard time it takes to complete a FPS these days. The only sad thing is I am still left wanting more knowing that this is the final resistance game. Sounds were great, voice acting also top notch. Graphics don't seem very colorful but they are good. Guns look snazzy and just as creative as the other resistance games, the mutator gun became my favorite instantly for its hilarious effects. Watching enemies vomit was amusing. I don't think there are as many guns as in resistance 1 but theres still a lot. I was a little disappointed that the ending didn't show much more. Regardless still another solid PS3 exclusive fps to add to the collection. I didn't play the MP wasn't much interested so I can't really say anything of it. Alone the game is worth playing for the single player, worth giving a rental unless you can find a cheap copy or get it for free.… Expand

The combination of the stylized, expressive, melancholic and gritty art-style with interesting, emotional and dark music produce a very immersive gaming experience.

    The only negative aspects of this game are the initial installation and patching, but these two points are not direct related to the great and unique gaming experience this game offer.

What I mean is it never feels like "now is the vehicle level, now is the creepy level, now the sneak&snipe section ..." Yes, you will be on a vehicle, yes, you will have to sneak and so on, but it always feels fresh and natural to the story and events. There are a few really neat twists and surprises, but nothing too exaggerated or "so mindblowing, I saw it coming"y.

    Some of the characters could've used more screentime and development, for instance Dr. Malikov is mostly just meaningful because you know him from the previous game. Even though he accompanies you for a big part of the story, you rarely get to know him better than you already do from R2. Capelli himself could've used more characterisation, just a few sentimental moments were not enough, though some scenes with him were really sweet and when he gets his exposition, it's usually well done and believable.

    Personally, I didn't like the strong "military shooter" tone of the prequel, so I'm glad this one is more of a "survival & desperate attempts" and "roadmovie" story, sorry if I cannot express it better. Now most people seem to not play FPS for the melodram, what about the gameplay? Most importantly, the weapon wheel is back and regenerating health has been ditched, both of which I gladly welcome and like a lot. The weapons are interesting, have their use and can be upgraded to have even more functions, but I'm sad the ripper isn't there any longer. However, the Grim suck this time. While they were creepy and the sections wih them kind of scary in R2, this time, they're just annoying and appear much too often. Other than that, it's pretty good, a lot of variation both in landscapes and situations. I also liked how you must use your weapons wisely, especially on higher difficulties, but I thought they overdid it with the sniper enemies towards the end. It's not that those sections are bad, but at one point I just was like: "What, ANOTHER area with snipers?!"

    Content is good, too, it doesn't get lengthy and is still no short game by any means, I'd say it's pretty much perfect in that regard, especially when you consider how short FPS games tend to be nowadays.

    There's one thing I must point out which I considered very disappointing and that's the bosses. There are only a few to begin with, they're not THAT interesting and still get repeated, that's just lame. Sounds worse than it is, maybe, but I had hoped for more.

    Graphics/Sound/Music/: Nothing much to say, I found the presentation of this game to be great in all aspects.

    Again, keep in mind I'm not saying anything about the MP. Overall, I'm giving this 9/10 because I seriously enjoyed it a lot and the few gripes I had do not weigh that heavily for me.    … Expand

    Fantastic game. Easily the best in the series and the most under-rated game of 2011 in my opinion. The single player may not be suited to brainless 'hoorah!' COD boys, but it's a great thinking man's shooter with a strong story, great survival elements and characters you can actually care about. The online is now working virtually perfectly and the co-op is a blast too. Highly recommended.

    Resistance 3 is much improved over resistance 2, and all the guns are tons of fun to use. Even if characters aren't very interesting, the battles are great, the cutscenes looks good, and the weapons are very unique. Other than the pretty good and well paced campaign, the multiplayer can be very fun once you start unlocking guns and more equipment. Recommended if you love FPS games.

It gives us a feel of the camera. Now its a new game trend I guess. The story progression is great. So far the reviews by other people is just not acceptable. They give it a low score just because of 1 coop mission taken off. Thats insane! Just because of 1 small thing they give it like 3 or 2 out of 10. Hmmm.... Looks like they buy the game just because of Multi player. Resistance 3 is best in Campaign the multiplayer is just an add-on please think of the campagin. Same like BF3 it has a solid multiplayer but bad Campagin. So now go play that game if you want multiplayer do not complain that this does not have a good one and give it score like 3/10 2/10. The new Boss fight is introduced which is very good they have weak points so making it more interesting to play. Final ending of the game is new in all games. With solid gameplay! Guns! Explosions! Chimeras! AND Capelli is a good new hero for Resistance series. Why I said R2 was not that great was cause they finished Hale too early! There should have been 1 more Resistance before he was done!

    So because of the solid campagin and great story telling! If you like campagin games you should check Resistance 3 out! The best in the series and more Resistance would be nice. Resistance world is a solid platform for games. It could be easily developed! And Insomniac Games is very good in doing it! Hopefully Resistance 4 comes out!

Multi-player is a great arcade FPS, the maps are not too big and not too small. It's a shame they removed the coop multi-player mode, but nevertheless it's a good experience. It's not a FPSI think this is the best Resistance up to now, the single player is great.     After dropping the ball so badly with R2, blindly following the herd with the MW dumb down, Insomniac have really aimed, and achieved, high this time. Gone is re-generating health and back are health packs, now you have to be tactical about your encounters. The weapons dial is back the novelty weapons are back. In short Resistance is back. Now all we need is an R4 to make up for 2!!

The bugs aren't a big deal and I haven't encountered them too much. A cooperative campaign mode returns from Resistance: Fall of Man but I didn't find it as fun as R:FOM when playing with another person. There were also a few issues in the gameplay in coop but I believe that they have been fixed through updates. I wish that the extremely fun coop mode from Resistance 2 would return but I understand that Insomniac wanted to really focus the game to make the best experience they could.

    In my opinion, the multiplayer in Resistance 3 is top notch. It is completely customizable to your play style through perks and weapons upgrades. R:FOM had fantastic multiplayer and Resistance 2's was alright as well but I love the small matches in Resistance 3. Especially after the updates have gotten rid of all the lag and framerate issues as well as improved balance in weapons and perks/abilities. While not perfect, Resistance 3 is a great game, even to those who don't follow the series, and in my opinion is worth at least one play through. With killer graphics, better general difficulty and a revamped weapons system this is one of the best AAA titles this year and well worth the price tag. I only had a chance to play the campaign missions during the short time I had the game but I played through once on Hard and enjoyed it so much I started playing through again on Superhuman. The new weapons in this game offers much more strategy than the previous two games where it was run and gun most of the time. Im glad the Weapon Wheel was brought back. even though the game was kinda short i still got a good experience from it. also at the After Capelli closed the wormhole from stopping the world from freezing and from keeping the Pure Chimera form entering through the wormhole. After capelli closed it there were still many chimera left on the planet. The chimera were dealt a blow but was not beaten. this leads speculation to a resistance 4 maybe?? but overall all great game.… Expand

    One of the best FPS (and general) game experience ever! After playing R3 in 3D, all the hard earned cash I had spent on my new TV seemed completely worth it. I could talk for hours about how great R3 is but instead I will just urge you to play it! the only minor fault is that the amazing water effect from R2 has disappeared with a luck luster one :s.

    I don't care what anyone says. This is the best Resistance so far. The online is not a cluster **** like the previous games and they took out over powered weapons like the Wraith from R2. I'll admit, I do miss the co-op, but I still Love this game.

The reasonably long campaign didnt feel like a burdon as my friend and I played for several hours and lost track of time. The only downside is that there are about 7 parts in the game where they toss you in pitch black with a very dim flashlight which makes it hard to find your way around even with the brightness turned all the way up. I have not tried the multiplayer but I do know the cool mode is gone but who knows, maybe they will release it as dlc with even more than before. All in all a good, fun ride.… Expand

    Fanboys are raging about the game not doing anything outside the box but what about the weapon wheel and health system? Resistance 3 is probably the only FPS of this generation where you can carry more than 3 guns and it doesn't has the auto-regeneration health that Halo made so popular back in the day. The truth is that Resistance 3 packs a great story even thought the ending was a disappointment. The gameplay is oldchool (I bet most of you started playing the genre with Halo so I don't think you'll know what I mean by "oldschool") but feels new and it's responsive. Graphics are pretty good but the animations are a bit stiff. The multiplayer is no Call of Duty but can be enjoyable for quite a while.

    wonderful game and the best in the series def a triple a title and one of the best shooter ive ever played has a great and heartfelt story the graphics are great the gunplay is wonderful and the guns are a blast online is awesome to jus a bit laggy but still def playable and a go to ps3 online game def a must buy if u own a ps3

    1. Guns!
    2. Atmosphere: environment, music, lighting effects (a huge step from R2m that one was really plain and flat in lighting aspect). And now You really feel the dread and doom.. It's not a fun arcade anymore (R1 and R2 were), now it's a battle for surviving.. 3. Graphics - I don't understand why people are explaining about gfx.. I find it really great: as I already mentioned, lighting is great, special effects (smoke, particles, explosions, water) are nice to watch. And just look what the level od detail is! So many objects scattered around in devastating buildings and streets. Speaking about multiplayer it's fun to play - it reminds me the good times I was hooked to RFOM.. of course it's not perfect - everything has it's flaws...I do lack the fluidity and speed the RFOM had or the COD titles have. I mean the framerate is lower but You get used to it... Probably I played to much Black Ops - this title has a high framerate, but wait....COD graphics are crap, and the resolution is lower. Overall I would give SP 10 and MP 9. Overall 10. Great game. Thank, You Insomniac!
    P.S. Forgot to mention: can't get the motion controls to start working. Especially navigation controller.. But as soon as it doesn't really matter for me it has no impact on my score and I believe the will fix it with next patch.    … Expand

    Like its predecessors, R3 paints an absorbing and beautifully horrific world.

    I admit to being disappointed in the online component, after R2's delightful 8x coop and chaotic pvp. Not every game should be MAG with its 128v128, but R2 hit a good note in its medium-large matches.

    Now when is an FPS going to offer matchmaking with a serious effort at match balance?

In cutscenes especially you can see the likeness to Killzone 3 in terms of graphical beauty.     While it's not a perfect game, it's the most fun I've had playing a video game in a long time! That deserves a 10! Lots and lots of ememies, tons of action, varied environments, a storyline that moves things along, etc. Go get it!

    A very good game with great atmosphere and a lot of weapons to use in combat . The story is good but also very classic but it is a game to have if you have got a playstation move with a sharp shooter ! It's very fun to use all this weapons that way in the game !

    R3 includes the best bits of R1 and R2 plus an improved storyline. The action, gameplay and graphics are pretty much flawless. As I'm not into multiplayer I can't say anything about that part, but the single player campaign is some of the greatest fun I've had on my PS3 this year.

    This game is really good. Insomniac improved the game on al points. Story is better told, the atmosphere is extremely well done, the shooting action feels better, multiplayer is better, graphics and audio is really good. Overall, love this game!

    If a game changes people complain, if a game doesn't change people complain, there's no pleasing some people. This game should be judged for what it is, not compared with Resistance 2.
    The difference between user and reviewer score really shows the incapability of most users of judging a game objectively.

    Enjoyed this game thoroughly. Better than R1 and 2 in my estimation. Good story line and edge of your seat excitement. Buy it with confidence - I couldn't put the controller down. Moreover, I thought it was more exciting than Killzone 3 (heresy?). The battles just keep piling it on. A good time.

This game carries more variety through the campaign, I've been rushing through the ruins of cities avoiding 100ft tall bosses to sneaking through swamps picking off enemy snipers to just having a simple shoot out with a stalker. I love the gore too, but thats just aI'm still currently playing through the game, but so far I'm very impressed, which is something I wasn't with Resistance 2.     Excellent Shooter. About just like the first Resistance. Guns are great, but I didn't really care for the return of the health packs.. arghhhhh.

    Otherwise this game rocks. I was on the fence between this and Dead Island so I rented them both.....Hands down, this one got purchased. If you like to pick up a gun and shoot alot of crap. Get this.

There are numerous multiplayer modes, just like in every FPS nowadays. I played the beta version of the multiplayer mode a bunch before the game came out, but now that I have it the campaign and co-op modes are much more entertaining for me. The multiplayer mode for R2 tried to force people to play together and take on different roles to work together. But that has been largely abandoned, as most of the multiplayer world does not care about strategy or teamwork, just amassing points, to no end. The campaign has replay value and is not something you can blow through all that quickly, which is great for me. A solid game.… Expand

    They say the show must go on and in the Resistance world there are still questions to be answered, but the disappointing nature of this third instalment and its failure to deliver at retail most likely means this is the last release in the series. Perhaps such an end is the best option all round.

    Resistance 3 does plenty. It's beautiful, thrilling, and-quite unexpectedly-contains one of the most memorable campaigns this side of Halo and Half-Life. In a year full of Sony-branded disappointments, Insomniac has produced an absolute gem.
