    Red Dead Redemption is a fantastic game that from the beginning feels refreshing and unique as it is set in western America. The core gameplay is fun and addicting, the world is beautiful and interesting, and the music/sound design is simple yet brilliant.     Juego no tan conocido a comparación de los que hace rokstar ,el juego western por defecto,gran banda sonora,en todos los sentidos mejor que gta 4 y encima en el oeste lo cual es mejor.

Todo está cuidado en él, desde la excelente fotografía, un cuidado y emocionante guión, unos diseños y personajes memorables, misiones principales y secundarias variadas que hacen que haya una progresión real en nuestra relación e inmersión en este enorme Sandbox. El simple hecho de pasear por el territorio con sus atardeceres, su bandaEl mejor juego de ps3. Belleza en estado puro. Todo está cuidado en él, desde la excelente fotografía, un cuidado y emocionante guión, unos diseños y personajes memorables, misiones principales y secundarias variadas que hacen que haya una progresión real en nuestra relación e inmersión en este enorme Sandbox.     The over all game felt disjointed with the extra missions very hard to find, i had to google where to find them otherwise i would have never have found half of them, this alone damper my overall experience of the game, The honor system in this game is pointless and i never felt the need to commit any crimes, as the payoff was not worth the effort..     Absolutely loved it. I like GTA games; well, this one was over them. Even if it was more simpler, and smaller (for obvious reasons). The action is summersive, the ambience is perfect, the beautiful landscapes, those skies that make you feel you are trully galloping to the horizon like a cowboy... the characters, like always in any GTA game, are full of charisma, and the story and littleAbsolutely loved it. I like GTA games; well, this one was over them. Even if it was more simpler, and smaller (for obvious reasons). The action is summersive, the ambience is perfect, the beautiful landscapes, those skies that make you feel you are trully galloping to the horizon like a cowboy... the characters, like always in any GTA game, are full of charisma, and the story and little sidequest stories catch you. Of course it also has the typical flawns from any GTA game. But the epicness, the greatness of this game, masks them. And despite you know how badly ends the game, you will play it again, and even do things differently. A must play, you like this genre or not (it may convert you).

    Red dead redemption is a fun game it's kinda like gta5 but in the days before cars and they rode horses on red dead redemption it's kinda relaxing because there aren't other people trying to kill you like gta 5 the people that made it knew what they were doing and the controls are easy to get the hang of and my favorite part of the game is the missions on the missions you go and like one mission is watch the town for the night so you walk around town in a circle for a while then you see these things running ahead of you than the lady that is helping you says pull out your gun shoot them before they go and kill the cows than after that on you follow the lady and she says.
    I recommend this game if you like playing gta 5 but you rage and this game is basicly gta but if you rage then this game would be a good calm down for you.    … Expand

    This is a masterpiece created by Rockstar Games. The atmosphere, characters, soundtrack, the map, missions, horses, guns, physics are superb and it´s fun obviously. MUST PLAY!!

    Make no mistake: this is the best game that Rockstar have created since GTA: San Andreas. Almost everything in this game is perfect, and even now I find myself returning to this masterpiece once in a while. The ultimate western game that is 200% worthy of your time and interest, and I hope that it will be a fundamental for the future Wild West/western-themed games.

    One of the best sandbox games of all time. All in this game was made thinking in perfection and rockstar done it. Graphic aspect was stunning at it's time. History is worthy for the cinema. I only can tell you to play it, if you didn't do before.

    An absolute classic. I thought Rockstar started to loose their way, falling into repetition with the Grand Theft Auto series after San Andreas, and this game showed just how amazing Rockstar is. From the opening scene the tone is set with an incredable haunting score. You witness high brow passengers on a train talk of how great it will be to finally bring civilization to these savages.An absolute classic. "They may have lost their land, but they've gained everything else." "Yes they live like animals, but they're happier now." A young lady question's her father's religious beliefs as it doesn't seem to make sense that an innocent would go to hell unless they receive communion. It's these types of questions that we ask ourselves through the incredable well written and engaging narrative. What is moral? What odds are we up against? Life isn't so black and white. The gameplay is top notch for its time, the characters are layered from comical, to sad. Theres a biting satire to Rockstar's work, yet the ending left me more emotional than any video game I can remember.
    In 2010 the game looked beautiful. It's dated now, but on a recent play through I still felt the beauty of the crafted sunsets, to the cool shade beneath "Tall Trees." I can't wait for the second one to come out next week!    … Expand

It's gorgeous, the writing is good ("Blinding pain of a sinister expression!"), and there are a few things to do that you'll love (killing wanna-be Jack the Rippers) and you'll love to hate (herding cows). I've upgraded to PS4 and played many more games since, just recently Witcher 3 w/ all add ons, but nothing really ever left quite the impression on me than RDR. There are two moments that will stick with me forever: the first when you unlock a new part of the map, in my case at dusk of dawn, and you ride along aI'm writing this in retrospect, as acknowledgment of a true accomplishment. I'm not sure if that's a memorable moment for anyone else, but it invoked ALL the wonderful clichees about Westerns all at once, and made you FEEL them. And then i bawled my eyes out when the flawed character in desperate need of redemption and meaning to his life is cut short just when he seemingly finally achieved it. Poetic justice, but what poetry is involved. I loved this game. Thanks to the writers. You created a world and a character that i haven't found in any other game since.… Expand

This game remains my favourite game of all time, despite lots of more recent work by Rockstar Games, Naughty Dog, etc. For its time, it had an incredible sense of atmosphere, helped by a wonderful score. Due to its wonderous design it really felt like you were a lone ranger, having to travel throughout the dangerous wild west. It was the first game to ever make me cry (only three others have done so since) due to the attachment I had to John by the end of the game. Free roam online with my friends was also a blast and some of the most fun I've ever had. I think this was partly due to the fundamental freedom of aiming weapons you had on horseback while still being able to move fast, enabled by a good controller scheme. If RDR 2 can be as good as this was at the time, the world will have to wait for me while I play it.… Expand

    Uno de los pocos juegos referentes temáticos de western, paisaje bonito y amplio, muchos elementos emergentes, controles aceptables... el problema viene en la historia, se nota que es un juego de Rockstar que intento oxigenar a la empresa de tantos mundos libres contemporáneos con este juego.
    No todo lo que aparece en la historia es malo, de hecho tiene una de las mejores de PS3 pero no    Uno de los pocos juegos referentes temáticos de western, paisaje bonito y amplio, muchos elementos emergentes, controles aceptables... el problema viene en la historia, se nota que es un juego de Rockstar que intento oxigenar a la empresa de tantos mundos libres contemporáneos con este juego.
    No todo lo que aparece en la historia es malo, de hecho tiene una de las mejores de PS3 pero no puedo dejar pasar por alto a Dickinson, este nefasto personaje es inaceptable bajo mi punto de vista, hay mejores formas de meter el folclore de la época; carreras de carros, engaños y estafas...
    Otro problema es la disonancia ludonarrativa donde la actitud del protagonista es de "quiero que esto acabe cuanto antes y volverá a la vida normal con mi hijo y mi mujer, pero luego puedes desde jugar al poker e irte de caza. Este juego sin duda debería de haber sido un juego lineal sin suprimir las preparaciones psicológicas y charlas de los viajes a caballo.
    Veremos que hace Rockstar en su segunda entrega para PS4    … Expand

    It is playable, but there are still serious failures and the Dead Eye is broken. Its aroma to Grand Theft Auto takes its toll.

    Red Dead tem uma história fenomenal, com um ótimo protagonista e outros ótimos personagens que também são importantes na história, você consegue sentir um carinho por tal personagem, você consegue entender as motivações do outro personagem, você consegue sentir ódio do vilão, esse jogo traz um roteiro recheado de personagens memoráveis, reviravoltas, emoções, vingança, enfim, simplesmente incrível.
    O jogo tem uma boa trilha sonora, um bom gameplay (que serviu de inspiração pra GTA V), um cenário lindo, vários colecionáveis e missões secundárias pra fazer por aí, coisas que se esperam de um mundo aberto da Rockstar.
    Na minha humilde opinião, esse jogo deixa qualquer outro jogo da franquia GTA no chinelo, vale e vale MUITO joga-lo.    … Expand

    Comprei em 2016 porque queria muito estar imerso em um ambiente de cowboys. Foi diversão na certa. História imprevisível. Quando você acha que está chegando ao fim, você tem uma surpresa. Mecânicas emocionantes envolvendo combate montado e perseguição. Acho dificílimo começar a jogar e não finalizar, embora tenha 3 primos que tem acesso ao jogo e acredito que não se empolgaram muito. PensoComprei em 2016 porque queria muito estar imerso em um ambiente de cowboys. Foi diversão na certa. História imprevisível. Quando você acha que está chegando ao fim, você tem uma surpresa.     An amazing action adventure that throws you into a beautiful recreation of the old west. There is a solid main narrative but the only thing that holds it back from a 10, having just finished the witcher 3, stories, missions and quests are repetitive and bland beyond the main plot.

    Uno de los mejores juegos de la pasada generación de consolas y sin duda de los mejores videojuegos de género western de la historia.

    A día de hoy, John Marston es un icono en el mundo de los videojuegos a la altura de Marcus Fénix o los Big Daddys de la saga Bioshock. Todo un referente en el género western y los cimientos de los siguientes sandbox de Rockstar.

    Imprescindible.

    İlk oyunu zamanında gayet keyif alarak oynadım. Gun oyunundan sonra çok daha gelişmişi olarak gelmişti. John Marston bize bu seriyi sevdiren karakterdi. 2. oyuna kadar en sevdiğim Rockstar oyunuydu ama 2. oyunu çıtayı farklı yere çıkardı.

    The best thing about this game is the atmosphere. From the first moment you feel the true western feeling. John Marston is a somewhat superficial character and the world is sometimes too empty, but for that time it was a totally new experience that has resulted in many hours of fun. Even RDR2 had less of a western feeling so the game is feally unique!

    In my 30 years of gaming, Red Dead Redemption is my favourite game to date. It’s a shame R* didn’t supersede this with RDR2. A true Masterpiece if you’re into Wild West movies and feel like taking the role of the lead character.

It's a masterpiece for consoles, i don't have words to describe how alive and perfect the word in red dead redemption is, only spending 100 hours on this game to understand the great job that rockstar did on that game. Red dead follows John Marston and his conquest to earn back his family from the US government, to do so he must hunt down his fellow gang members who betrayed him and left him for dead. The story starts when John is saved by Bonnie MacFarlane a local rancher, she helps John and soon John begins his epic conquest. In this amazing 10/10 story, John meets new people such as the Marshall, Seth, Irish, N.W Dickens and more, John continues to hunt down the gang members and eventually it leads him to Mexico. Mexico was a big part of the story and I was completely blown away by the music, story and gameplay there. Eventually John gets back to America and kills the last member of his gang. The ending half of Red Dead in my honest to god opinion, is the greatest video game ending half in video game history. John returns to his family and everything seems good, and spends quality time with his family, however the game makes the daring decision to kill Marston, yet somehow, they pull it off perfectly. Even for a game that is ten years old, online mode is still active and booming with fun. Hunting and shooting mechanics are flawless. The graphics for its age are again, amazing. The game excels at putting you in Johns shoes and making you feel like you are really there, in 1911. Even for a game that is ten years old, I found myself playing it more than every new game I have on my console. Rockstar games made a masterpiece, and I got it for ten dollars yet it beats games I've spent 100 dollars on. Strongly recommended for everyone. Warning you might cry.    … Expand

The gameplay feels a lot more tight and stilted, and while the pace is a lot faster than RDR2, the first act or so isn't as incredible as I remember. However, this game still remains an absolute classic to play. The story is amazing and the characters are fully realized and developed. The open world truly feels like the "Wild" West unlike RDR2, and the more gritty tone lends itself to its depressing conclusion. This game is on par with its prequel and both games deserve to be recognized as some of the best in the industry. Even on its own, the original Red Dead Redemption remains an alltimer in Rockstar's catalogue.… Expand

    Red dead redemption is a masterpiece that tells the fantastic, riveting story of John Marston's attempt to reunite with his family by hunting down his former gang members for the law. The graphics and landscapes were ahead of its time for an open world game, and the writing is fantastic and, at times, gut wrenching. I love this game and heavily recommend it.

    People saying the graphics are brilliant (even in some new reviews) has got me stumped. The face's are well rendered but graphics is more then just a face. The characters at times look blocky, nearly all characters walk with the same motion (length in their stride, arms apart), lack of footprints when walking or riding and no interactions when walking through grass or bushes. Now its not bad but to say it's BRILLIANT graphics is ridiculous.

    The voice acting is really good and the characters conversations are funny and interesting so that is a plus.

    The gameplay in this game is really repetitive (and I'm one who doesn't usually mind the same thing over and over). Talk to someone, ride to location, shoot enemies and repeat again and again. Now this wouldn't normally bother me but they overdid it. Fight your way in with an over the top amount of spawning enemies and then when you get to where you need generally they will spawn more enemies to fight on the way out and then again when you think your in the clear (3 types of the same fight for one part of the story mission is just stupid). The same goes with collecting bounties. You fight your way in, beat everyone and then when you collect your bounty, people just spawn out of nowhere and then if you kill them more will spawn again (you just didn't need this and seems like its just to extend the games length and adds nothing to the gameplay or story).

    The story itself is good and intriguing and keeps the player interested and I'm enjoying my play through. I like the fact that side missions are a choice and not necessarily needed to help you other then to just entertain you by giving you something different (helping people, collecting bounties, playing poker etc). So you can just stick to the story or do something to pass the time (I am generally a story man unless there is some huge benefit to my character by completing side missions).

    Now the big downfall in this game is the glitches and some have mentioned it but I find it really hard that people couldn't have come across any in their play through which makes it absurd that this game got 10/10 from people. Some issues I have come across: Couldn't collect my bounty cause he fell INTO a rock and I had to restart from my last save cause the story missions wouldn't come up until I collected it, I got stuck in cover and every time I tried to move or jump it literally dragged me back to the same position so again I had to restart, game froze while trying to ride shotgun, i was riding to the start of a horse race and accidentally bumped into a spectator which died so I had to start from where I started riding from AGAIN, I fought off all the enemies and was collecting items and money and because wes dickens was programmed to be in a hurry I failed the mission because he wanted to get away fast even though they were all dead and I took too long to get to his cart. The controls are clunky and just trying to walk through a narrow door way was like trying to reverse a car in, not being able to run and control the camera at the same time just seemed like a bad design and these are just some instances in 2/3s of the game......

    Some people were saying that the improvement from rdr to rdr2 was heaps better then tlou to tlou2. WELL I BLOODY HOPE SO lol TLOU was almost like a ps4 game so of course the improvement would be less while this has as many faults as some of the games I played on N64.

    Some reviewers must be blinded by something cause I don't know how 9 or 10 comes into when reviewing this game. Its a solid game and I would give a 7 but the glitches are terrible and when you worry throughout the game that it might freeze or you might get stuck and have to do a mission again, its never fun.

    This being said I am looking forward to playing rdr2 and hopefully enjoying a game that lives up to the hype :-)    … Expand

    Rockstars best game to date & and a welcome change of pace from grand theft auto. I enjoy the cowboy genre and have played the Call of Juarez, Gun & original Red Dead games, this is the best of the bunch.

Die Geschichte um John Marlston, einem ehemaligen Outlaw, der sich eigentlich bereits zur Ruhe gesetzt hatte, seiner Vergangenheit letztlich aber doch nicht entfliehen kann, ist hervorragend gewählt, um das Bild einer Zeit zu malen, in der alles im Umbruch ist. Zudem bringt Rockstar die Geschichte um Marlston auf eine eher überraschende Weise zu ihrem Ende, die wieder einmal davon zeugt, dass Rockstar keine Scheu hat Dinge auch mal anders zu machen. Dass man nicht einfach bedienen will, was das Genre erwartet, sondern die Geschichten erzählen will, auf die man auch Bock hat.

    Das Questdesign ist auch in RDR hervorragend gelungen, da sehr abwechslungsreich, und lebt nicht zuletzt auch von seinen charakterstarken NPCs. Auch hinsichtlich der Gameplaymechaniken erlaubt sich Rockstar keine wirklichen Schnitzer. Gut, nicht alles ist wirklich intuitiv gelöst, bei manchen Mechaniken fragt man sich schon, ob man das nicht eleganter hätte umsetzen können. Dennoch, im Gegensatz zu einem GTA5 spielt sich Red Dead durchgehend flüssig. Allerdings werden Quests, Rockstar typisch, weiter als eigene Kapitel behandelt. Verkackt man irgendwo, hat dies oft ein "Mission failed" zur Folge und die Aktion wird von vorne gestartet. Die Freiheit aktueller PS4 Open World Titel, wo man aus Missionen im Zweifel auch einfach flüchten, und diese später wieder aufnehmen kann, die hat man bei Red Dead Redemption nicht.

    Neben L.A. Noire ist Red Dead Redemption sicherlich die intensivste Spielerfahrung, die Rockstar Games bisher realisiert hat. Schade dass es, im Gegensatz zu GTA5 und L.A. Noire, keine Remaster Version des Titels für die PS4 gibt. Da RDR2 jedoch bereits in den Startlöchern steht, sei Rockstar dies einmal verziehen.    … Expand

    El mejor juego de la generación de PS3, sin duda joder. Historia inolvidable, personajes carismáticos y un largo etc. Hace años que lo jugué, hubiera estado bien que estuviera en PC junto con el 2, otra obra mestra, que superó al 1. Aún así como saga está en mi top 2 junto con RDR 2 como saga.

    Never thought I will really enjoy a Rockstar game, and top it off, a western-themed open world game. It is by the way, my first Rockstar game to finish.

    All I can say is that, the game is truly enjoyable, the story is immersive though at first, the prologue seemed a bit slow. The characters have been given their own segment to get the player to know them along with the main character, and how he deals with them. The story also introduced lawmen and I find most of them annoying which I felt the story is good enough to affect me and feel for the main character.
    Aside from the immersive story, game play is also good, being able to hunt, make duels like a real cowboy, pursue a wanted man or make good deeds. The game also doesn't restrict you to make a choice on some missions.

    As I played this on my PS3, I really find the graphics dated, though the controls still holds up to today's standards. My main grievance for the PS3 version is the frames per second, which targets 30 fps but often drops around in the 20s inside a busy town. This brought my first attempt to play this game into a halt for about 6 years ago. I wasn't really sure to play this game due to its presentation in the PS3 version. I truly wished this game had been remastered for the PS4 just like what Microsoft did for the X360 version. One thing to note is that, the game has a lot of beautiful scenery which I really hoped the photo mode was a PS3 feature before it is in the PS4.

    Lastly, the game is not perfect. It has its share of flaws here and there.
    One example I noticed on some scenes especially with the Federal Lawmen during the Blackwater segment is how these characters belittle the main character as if he doesn't know anything. Despite all of their insults and derogatory remarks about him, John Marston just stops talking to them as if he just accepted being stupid. Some ambient challenges are quite tedious as well as some stranger missions. And like any Rockstar game, the game has it own share of bugs and glitches. The common bug happened to me is that, either a human enemy or animal will fall below the ground. I also find some tutorials lacking in part. It could be that this concept was just a result of game flaws during the PS3/X360 era that were essentially changed for new players of the PS4/XB1 games.

    If you're looking for the best wild west themed game, look no further. This game will not disappoint.

    Heart of darkness set in the dying west. If played chronologically after RD2 this is a beautiful ending to the Red Dead epic.

    RDR was a game I picked up at a very difficult phase of my life. This game was my escape at the time.

    RDR's open-world was the most lived-in, breathing open world I had every played at the time. The saloons, the open desert, the scattered outposts all had character. It kept me engaged with the little details - the sunsets, the sand kicking at end of a gallop, the flora & fauna to name a few.

    The characters and dialogues were excellent. This game had some of the most memorable side characters in a video game. Combine that with a compelling redemption storyline and you have a campaign that will keep you invested throughout the playtime. The dead-eye mechanic was a lot of fun and really made the player feel like a gunslinger. The rest of the gameplay was nothing groundbreaking but worked well enough to keep you engaged.

    I was never a fan of the Western setting but decided to pick up RDR because, well, it's a Rockstar game. They have a habit of creating ground-breaking video games and RDR was no exception To this day, it is still my favorite R* game and one of the greatest games I have ever played.

    Juego bastante influenciado en gta4, porque tiene una historia y ambientacion bastante serias y muy buenas, con muy buena banda sonora, su unico fallo seria el mundo, donde no pido 20 coleccionables y 15 misiones cada 2 metros, pero si que es verdad que cansa pasarte 10 minutos yendo de un lado ha otro donde ves 2 cactus y 4 setos,

    This game is a great game that is very different than other rockstar game that focus in modern day era with car and other stuff but still i habe some issue with this game its kind of laggy and the movement is kind of stiff and the gun anination is like a robot for some reason and it have a lot of bugs and other not so good stuff about this game

Now that I've played and finished the second one (almost twice), I finally decided to give this one a try and wow.

    Everything Red Dead 2 gets right, is because of this game. Back in 2010 no one expected this. It was so ahead of it's time and even now, I would say it's more impressive than most games today. The level of story telling and world building that Tockstar provides here is incredible. My only complaint is, in the beginning and the end, the rancher stuff gets pretty boring. That never made me want to stop playing. The story itself is so interesting and amazing that I could heard cattle for 15 hours straight just to see how it ends. The conclusion is amazing. I think most people know now and I knew myself but it still hit me a lot harder than I expected.

    The gameplay is fantastic as well. I even think the side missions are phenomenal! They add a different story that goes on for most of the game. These missions aren't one and done. For most of them you have to go back a few days later to progress the mission. It's an incredible world building technique that I wish I saw done more.

    This is a timeless classic!

    There are too many overrated games that get remasters! This one should be ported to PC and get a proper remaster so that PlayStation and PC users can enjoy it too!

    O melhor game de PS3 que já joguei! simplesmente magnífico,te proporciona uma experiência de cowboy incrível em um mapa muito bem elaborado e construído.História nota 10,que passa a ter mais peso ainda depois que vc zera o 2!Ótima jogabilidade,poucos bugs,variedade grande de missões secundárias, ótimo jogo, recomendito!

    I never loved Rockstar Games. I felt they weren't for me. Games are too large and feel empty. Stories weren't too engaging for me. But Red Dead Redemption stands out from other Rockstar gmes.
    One of the best stories in gaming history. Characters fascinate you from very beginning. World is crammed with interesting side quests and interesting activities.
    Masterpiece from Wild West.
