Texture model, cutscene and audio quality are the same as PS4. Loading times are quick and I have not encountered any bugs or crashing. They did not skimp on last gen. Good writing and characters, plenty of activities to do. Combat is very stylish and responsive.

Amazingly crafted - great visuals, "flowy" visuals (you've never seen a game this stylish before!) great soundtrack, great story. It's even got the re-playability angle, and after ~100 hours to beat it the first time, you'll still want to go back to get to the bottom of the story with some of your confidants. A rare achievement in software, a stunning masterpiece.

As a person who does not care for anime turn based combat or rpgs, this is one of my favorite games of all time. the people giving bad reviews are people that realized that it came out on ps3 as well as ps4. this is 1:1 the same game with the ps3 start button coming up instead of the ps4 options button. that's the only difference between the two.

It's weird having more than 190 negatives scores but just 1 negative writing review. No, this game is good. Visual, music and story. it's one of the last game on PS3. i played lot of shin megami tensei, this one is very good. And about the difficultie, if you buy a messiah at lvl 90 (DLC) at the begining, it will be easier (you can use it even if you have a lower level than 90).

A perfect sequel to the fantastic Persona 4 on PS2. Ten years in the making, and it shows. It looks crisp, cell-shady but still has that Persona-feel to it. I'm 40 hours in and I've no idea how far I'm in, and I don't want to know. This is a title I won't look even the slightest hint about, because it's already the best gaming experience I've had in... Ever, actually. This game took the boots of P4 and shined them, made them their own and went to town. This is in my opinion the best (j)rpg ever made by far.

Best game I’ve ever played. With 400 hours of gameplay based on my 2nd playthrough and showing no sign of stopping, it is safe to say that Persona 5 is essential on both PS3 and PS4. Trust me, it’s very freaking good, and that’s coming from someone who originally hates JRPGs.

This game is amazing! The only reason that the PS3 version has a much lower score than the PS4 version is because it was easier to review bomb the PS3 version. Both versions are pretty much the same, outstanding game!

P5 is a super interesting, no punches held commentary on the western society and people willing to exploit it and oppress people for their own wealth, creating a stark split in the society that can drive the people sitting on the "wrong side" of the gap into deep trouble.... even death.

P5 is a super interesting, no punches held commentary on the western society and people willing to exploit it and oppress people for their own wealth, creating a stark split in the society that can drive the people sitting on the "wrong side" of the gap into deep trouble.... even death.

When each and every cast member is an exaggerated or simplified example of various victimhoods, and the villains portray the 7 deadly sins. it's hard to call the cast "bland". Heck, there's even plenty of character development dedicated for said characters; starting from the "awakening" phase where they decide to rebel against their oppressors, to the optional scenes of maturing you get to witness by spending time with them.

Not only that, but it actually dares to bring up the general population's typical lack of interest and desire for "please think and work for me!" mentality, which ultimately stresses the community they reside in and may just as well lead the entire society into doom.

Besides all these thematics, P5 is also once again a fine example of Japanese people turning some kinda mundane, even forgotten western ideas and lores into something truly unique and fascinating. This is the most obvious in the Persona designs themselves, with pretty much each one of them being these snappy shots of tangential learning at its best.
P5 is not only the most psychological experience since Silent Hill 2, but it can also be taken as a non-official Lupin the third game.

I don't think I need to even bring up the audio-visual presentation. It's kickass, stylish, and jammin' . The themes and levels are like something out of Psychonauts, again a huge plus.

The only real downsides I can think of are the lengthy stretches of repetition / info dumping near the very end, at which point it really does not matter any more.

It's an amazing game and the best J-RPG I've ever played. It's almost perfect, however there are some points with the combat that feels too repetitive, however it doesn't come up often (mostly in mementos). One complaint which might just be a problem with my console, is the weird choppiness I get when playing - possibly due to the game running at 30fps - however, you learn not to mind it overtime.

The game still has aspects of a life simulator, as well as a dating simulator. You still capture personas and fuse them and everything like that. A new aspect of the persona system is that you can personas to power-up other personas, using them up in the process. This is a neat way to quickly level up a persona and sometimes get a new skill out of it.

Back is the old system of capturing personas, you'll need to weaken them and then dialog options come up in which you'll have to convince the personas to join you. It's an alright system, but the reality is, the card based system was a easier one.

A new aspect to the game are puzzles that almost every dungeon will have, you'll have to figure these out as you progress through a dungeon. While it adds something new to the series, as the game goes on, these dungeon puzzles start to get really accessive to the point it's more annoying or frustrating than fun.

Besides that, it's more of the same you would come to expect of a Persona game. It's good, but it's a lot darker story wise than the fourth game and it's not nearly as light hearted either.

and while this is a great game.. don’t quite believe the hype..
In Persona 5 you play a highschool stuident that gets framed for assult when he defends a woman from an abusive man, hes on probation and under watch while he attends highschool…
youre the new kid in school with a bad boy reputation… here you meet some friends that are dealing with a horribly abusive gym teacher…
and coincidentally enough you find a strange app on your phone and it takes you to some crazy castle that you learn is actually how this teacher perceives the school.
youre in his palace… this palace is crawling with creatures known as shadows that keep its treasure guarded..
that treasure being the targets heart..
youre here to change it and make them confess their wrong doings..
there are 8 palaces total in this game if you count mementos which is a grinding area that you can eventually visit any time…
and as you progress the game new members will slowly join your party
each of you has your own persona which is basically like a pokemon…
you have to make your way through these maze like palaces in search for your treasure and not get caught by these shadows..
if your meter reaches 100% and your target is aware of your presense its game over.. so its important to stealth around and attack from behind.. especially at the risk of losing hours of progress as the dungeons can be multiple hours long
but there are save rooms in these dungeons just incase that you can fast travel to and from if you need a break or need to head back to the real world and stock up on more items…
and again like pokemon this is turn based and each persona has strengths, weaknesses, and special moves you can use during battle that they learn as you level up..
and your main character can even catch these shadows if you hit them with a weakness or weaken them to a point that they give up.. you then have to talk to them and tell them what they want to hear to remind them that they are personas as well…
you can then take your captured personas and use them in battle, freely switch them in and out to find your enemies weakness.. or even combine them for new and more powerful personas up to your current level…
the combat system here is actually nothing that special at all.. its flashy and cool at first.. but it gets dull pretty quickly..
thankfully youre able to fast forward battle to make your party do basic physical attacks to not waste your sp which is used to pull off moves from your personas
and each palace does end in a boss battle…
but this dungeon crawling and persona battles isn’t all this game is about.. if it were persona 5 wouldn’t be special at all…
its this with whats outside of these dungeons that makes this game so great..
youre living life as a school kid..
youre paying attention in class answering questions, youre studying and reading books to boost your stats, youre getting part time jobs for cash to spend on weapons and gear, increasing your kindness, and going to the bathhouse for more charm,
but youre also meeting up with your teammates, going on dates, helping characters out to boost your bond which in turn boosts their terrot card stats to give you perks back in the metaverse
it’s the balance of all of these things that make persona 5 a great game…
none of these parts on their own are any great at all..
I felt the story lost steam after the komoshida arch as he was a such a perfect villain…
    I legitimately hated him
it starts to pick up again towards the middle of this 100 hour journey…
but it doesn’t reach the height of this games first 10 hours…
and the dungeons were never really fun and I grew bored of the combat after around 20 hours…
it’s the back and forth of managing your time with the right activities and people that keep you hooked…
Persona 5 I still believe isn’t as great as everyone makes it out to be…
im not even really sure the type of player to recommend this to..
the jrpg and social aspects mixed together make this game really special and something more than just a turn based combat game…
    I give Persona 5
    an 8.5/10
