    The best MGS collection ever? No, the best gaming collection in history. It includes some critically acclaimed classics like MGS1, MGS2, and MGS3, and current gen titles like the flawless MGS4 and the biggest PSP game MGSPW.

    It's rather hard to make a review for a collection of 7 games, so I'll make it quick: don't go and buy it, run down to your closest gaming store and take this motherf*cker!

    Great content and great games. Need I say more? The games are legendary and even the older ones are still fun to play, but it feels dated. But the art book and the digital graphic novels are great and should introduce new players to MGS and bring back old fans

    If you don't have all the MGS games and have even the slightest passion for MGS, go get this collection. And play them in order. My...my...what an experience. I knock off one point because Portable Ops wasn't included

    This is one of the best series of gaming. They made all of the games (Except for Acid,Rising,Ghost Bable)
    merged into two disks with MGS1 and DLC, MGS2, MGS3,MGS4 and MGS PW. The only thing I don't like about this is that MGS1 is on a DLC sheet.

I am deducting 1 point from perfect because it says nothing on where to find the movies and I had a hard time figuring it out, and also for including MGS and VR as downloadable vouchers and not in a physical disc.… Expand

    Amazing amount of content for $50. One of the most greatest franchises of all time. I would have given it a 10 for how much content there is alone, and that;s to say nothing about the games themselves.

    Let's see what's inside the box. First of all the game case, where we find two discs: the first one contains MGS4: Guns of The    Nine is my personal score to this terrific MGS collection. Why not Ten? I'll explain you at the end of the review. Note well: this is a review to the collection itself, not to the single games (Although I've nothing to say about. They are all almost perfect).
    Let's see what's inside the box. First of all the game case, where we find two discs: the first one contains MGS4: Guns of The Patriots. The second one is basically the MGS HD Collection, and contains MGS2: Sons of Liberty, MGS3: Subsistence, and MGS: Peace Walker. In addition to the MGS HD Collection, the second disc contains also the graphic novels of the first two chapter of the MGS Saga. In the case, we also have a piece of paper reporting a PSN Code we can use to download the digital version of the first MGS (Originally for PSX), including VR Missions.
    The surprises don't end here: as a matter of fact, in the box there's a huge art book, containing the story of all the MGS saga, including some cool images of the various games. It's not the usual art book you find in the special editions of various games, cause It's elegant and It has a cardboard cover, so It's quite resistant.

    At the end you have 7 games (including MG1 and MG2 contained in the Subsistence edition of MGS3), two graphic novels, and an art book. I recommend It to anyone is a fan of the MGS Saga and also to people who never played these fantastic games. Considering the price, It's a real bargain!

    The only flaw: considering the releasing of MGS V next year, I would have included also the HD version of MGS: Portable Ops, in order to complete the story of Big Boss. That's the reason It doesn't deserve full score 10/10.    … Expand

    A man loyal to the pixels of game, show for us this amazing collection. Hideo Kojima's DNA written within this collection. A Story of three Generations inside this collection.It's not a simple collection, it's more a documentary showing for us the evolution of MGS and Sony's consoles.
    For those who have a PS3 and never have played MGS, BUY, YOU WON'T REGRET.

    How do I put this....if you have not been able to play or not been bothered to play MGS then i beg pick this up...it is without a dout one of the best game collections in history. That is all there is to say. 40 pound for 7 amazing games? why have you not brought this yet go and get it.Experience the world that is Metal Gear Solid and i promise you, you will not be disappointed.

    As a newcomer to the franchise I can safely say that the metal gear series is now amongst my all time favourites. This is an excellent collection which brings together one of the best stories in video gaming together into 1 package.     If you have not experienced the Metal Gear Solid franchise and you wish to do so, this is an absolute must-have. You've heard of them online, I'm sure. Even if you don't think you will like the games (in my case, i just didn't like stealth games), Give it a shot. After all, It's 7 classic and legendary games for only a 50$ price tag.

That's a lot of playtime right there. All of these games are critically acclaimed and bestsellers on the PS3 and PSP.     This is a disaster on Konami part as far as I'm concerned. MGS Legacy Collection is for people who want to play the entire MGS series from start to finish, so imagine my surprise to find out that the first and most critically acclaimed MGS, which you want to play as a first MGS title, is not even included on the physical discs. After searching what is going on you find out that they didn'tThis is a disaster on Konami part as far as I'm concerned. After searching what is going on you find out that they didn't bother to add it and just sliced the digital code for download somewhere between useless manual and Konami promo cards. Even worse is the fact that they sell region locked codes, so the code won't work on EU versions of this collection. The worst part is the Konami customer center, when I wrote them with this problem, I got a reply after a week of waiting that said I should contact another Konami department, as if they couldn't transfer the request internally. Their final solution was something to the effect of buy the collection again, give us more money, and the highlight was the signature - Thank you for your interest in Pro Evolution Soccer, which I never even mentioned. Worst case of terrible money grabbing corporation with absolutely zero customer-friendly behaviour. It's also worth noting that this review has been deleted before, that's why there are only positive reviews of Konami products, Konami is corrupting media to publish only positive reviews, but they will never stop the freedom of speech. This is just a fair warning, avoid this collection, especially if you're in EU, it simply doesn't work. 0/10… Expand

    You are basically getting the entire Metal Gear saga pre-Rising. You are getting Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, 3 & 4. I don't think I need to add anymore. Seriously, this is one of the best collections anyone can by. Getting the entire Metal Gear series pre-Rising is completely astounding, giving you access to one of the best video game series of all time.

    The only gripe I would have is that    You are basically getting the entire Metal Gear saga pre-Rising. You are getting Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, 3 & 4. I don't think I need to add anymore. Seriously, this is one of the best collections anyone can by. Getting the entire Metal Gear series pre-Rising is completely astounding, giving you access to one of the best video game series of all time.

    You really can't ask for a better deal or package. A collection of some of the greatest games of all time in 2 discs and a digital download code. Hell I'd pay full price just for Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater which might be the best game of all time now with a new 3d camera compared to the original overhead view in the original which really didn't work with the jungle setting.

The story, the gameplay, the soundtrack and everything was beautiful about it, and for $50. I think that we're ripping off the developer. So just get it.

    Metal Gear Solid
    This was a PS1 game. I thought before starting playing that it was going to be a cliché PS1 game with slow gameplay, generic story and weird voice acting. Like Resident Evil 1 for example, but I was surprised. The game was actually great despite my expectation. The story was great, the soundtrack was stunning and the gameplay was fast and fun or slow depending on your gameplay choices whether you liked to go guns blazin' or take the stealthy way. Either ways, both the routes were fun. If you don't mind the old graphics. You'll enjoy this game.

    Metal Gear Solid 2
    A PS2 game. This is was an upgraded version of the first game in every way. Some people hate it and some love it. They changed the main character, and that's the main reason why people hate it. The story was confusing, but great once you play the other games after it since they explain everything you didn't understand about MGS2. In general, I can say that it was worth playing and you won't regret it.

    Metal Gear Solid 3
    Also a PS2 game. This one was different in great way. It's a prequel to the previous games, and it was a masterpiece. The heartbreaking story, the gameplay, the soundtrack. Everything about it was great. They changed the gameplay in a good way and gave you more freedom with it than the previous games. Just play it, and you won't ever regret it.

    Metal Gear Solid 4
    A PS3 game. This was the final sequel for the game. The same things I said about MGS3 goes for this one. The only thing people complained about is the long cutscenes, but for me I enjoyed it. It was the final part in the story of MGS, and had the end to everything in the franshise. So I'm glad they gave us long cutscenes because I didn't want them to leave anything unanswered or behind.

    Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
    This was a PSP game that was remastered to the PS3. It's a prequel to MGS1 and a sequel to MGS3. I can say that you won't enjoy it as much as the previous games, but it was a fun one. Had a few different elements, but you'll have the feeling that this game wasn't designed for consoles. If you're planing to play Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain. You need to play it. Otherwise, it was a fun game, but it won't stick in your memory as the previous games did.

Each title has been lovingly remastered and every entry included pushed the boundaries back in the day to be the best titles of their release year, if not their entire generation.
