    Fun game but the story is so boring. I didn't even know wtf was going on half the time. The gameplay is awesome though, boss fights are pretty good but man, the art style is AWESOME. Lollipop Chainsaw is also pretty short in length, which is a good thing because if it was any longer, even by an hour, it would've been too much. You can beat this game in 3.5 hrs if you went really fast andFun game but the story is so boring. I didn't even know wtf was going on half the time.     Lollipop Chainsaw is No More Heroes, just worse.

    When I first started playing I didn't know it was a Suda51 game, but after playing a couple of minutes I noticed really quick. Compared to No More Heroes the Game is missing a lot, there are no fun mini games, there is nothing to do besides the linear story missions and the story isn't really exiting. The game is short and easy so    Lollipop Chainsaw is No More Heroes, just worse.

    When I first started playing I didn't know it was a Suda51 game, but after playing a couple of minutes I noticed really quick.

    Compared to No More Heroes the Game is missing a lot, there are no fun mini games, there is nothing to do besides the linear story missions and the story isn't really exiting.

    The game is short and easy so at least it doesn't get to repetitive, the dialogs between Juliet and Nick can be quite funny from time to time.

    If you are new to Suda51 I recommend No More Heroes over this.    … Expand

    Because I had fun, this game is better than it looks, right down to the music and types of costumes, referring to good animes, the gameplay is very enjoyable

    Really clean art-style for its time, which is synonymous with games that have Suda 51 in it's credits. Enemy and civilian character models look iffy up close but fine from further away. Juliet and Nick are really funny when they speak to each-other and it's endearing, and the bosses have very easy to pick up personality traits.

    Enemies and Civilians hold this really out of touch brand of "L0L R4ND0M" Humor that was popular at the time but aged like milk these days. Sometimes it even reaches a very cringe worthy point of almost R4P3 Humor that hits like a truck.
    The combo system very early on is shallow and feels like the shop was more of a last minute change to ensure that the player has to buy Attack Combos. Which is the Antithesis of what a Beat/Slash-'em-up is supposed to play like. The whole point to this style of game is to give the player multiple choices of combos to use in certain situations.    … Expand

    Uno de mis juegos favoritos, es lo mas genial! amo la tematica de los zombies y como lo mezclan con colores y arcoiris, definitivamente es muy divertido y de esos juegos para tomarlo con gracia.

    graficos legais, piadas ok, gameplay comum. não é um jogo que vai inovar mas eu gostei.

    -teve um bug de cutscene
    -quando você cai o jogo te obriga a apertar circulo varias vezes e é irritante
    -a camera não vai aonde você quer ir se você estiver se movendo, isso atrapalha demais
    -o jogo teve bug de dialogo e os personagens ficaram repetindo a mesma coisa e ficou bizarro...

    Safe to say that this is a cult classic game.

    I genuinely enjoyed the wacky humor involved and will recommend this to anyone wanting a silly game to play at halloween/samhain.

    The game is very creative. But simply being creative isn't enough. Gameplay wise, it is very subpar compared to other games in the hack n slash genre. Which is crowded by the likes of Koei-Tecmo Warriors games, and the many clones that copy them.

    For example: Asura's Wrath is just as creative, crazy, and repetitive. But the bread and butter of the action is much more entertaining than    The game is very creative. Nowadays, there are whole fandoms about quirky but sexy badass female characters like Harley Quinn, Nui Harime, Juno Enoshima, Perona, Kainé, and Cherri Bomb. Not to mention the story is an excellent deconstruction of gender stereotypes as well as a commentary on toxic musicality. The main male protagonist is stripped of his humanity, reduced to aLollipop Chainsaw was ahead of its time. Nowadays, there are whole fandoms about quirky but sexy badass female characters like Harley Quinn, Nui Harime, Juno Enoshima, Perona, Kainé, and Cherri Bomb. Not to mention the story is an excellent deconstruction of gender stereotypes as well as a commentary on toxic musicality. The main male protagonist is stripped of his humanity, reduced to a literal object, and is constantly mocked and ridiculed because of his inability to perform the typical “manly” duty of protecting his girlfriend. The other male characters are always judging the heroine’s worth based on her body despite her unique and impressive skills. The main villain is a literal incel who started an entire apocalypse because he felt like he was entitled to the prettiest girl in school, even though it was his fault for not confessing his feelings sooner. While the sexualization of high schoolers is a big problem in the media (looking at you CW), the developers were at least smart enough to make Juliet 18. Also, she’s never put in any situations where adults sexually violate her. If this game were released now, it would have a semi-decent fanbase of artists on Tumblr and Twitter who would be obsessed with its sparkly neon style.

    Also, a common criticism of the game is the crude dialogue and pop culture references. People need to understand that teenagers are the cringiest individuals on the planet. They constantly do and say the dumbest and most inappropriate stuff imaginable, thinking that it makes them sound cool and funny. Look no further than TikTok. So if anything, the reason people hated the dialogue was because they hate the way teenagers talk. Which I guess is still understandable.    … Expand

    I cant help it, but I love everything about this title, crazy story, crazy action, gore, even the jokes, end boss fights, nothing to complain here.

    This game has held up fantastically well nearly a decade later. Yes the hack-and-slash genre has improved immensely especially with the rise of Koei Tecmo games, but Suda51 really made a cult classic here that still stands on it's own with adorable and colorful combos, just... with chainsaws and zombies. The story is completely silly and entertaining to watch which made the experience easyThis game has held up fantastically well nearly a decade later. Yes the hack-and-slash genre has improved immensely especially with the rise of Koei Tecmo games, but Suda51 really made a cult classic here that still stands on it's own with adorable and colorful combos, just... with chainsaws and zombies. The story is completely silly and entertaining to watch which made the experience easy to come back to because the game itself feels like such a break from the norm. Listening to Juliet & Nick's dialogue is equally as fun as some of the cutscenes, and the writing of James Gunn really throws you off when characters throughout the game say the most random things. This game breaks normalcy at every possible chance and always maintains a core element of what video games are meant to be - fun. Pure fun, entertaining, and in this game's case filled with loads of wonderful characters. Lollipop Chainsaw is just as fun today as it was in 2012, and while copies aren't cheap, it's worth the investment if you want a couple days of relaxing and having fun.… Expand

    I just finished. I finished with the emulator. I don't know why, my video card is 1070 but I played at 30 fps. But it was very nice. I wish it was on the pc. I hope it comes to the pc sometime and I can play with nice graphics.

    A linear game that could have been on PS2 with extremely repetitive and shallow hack and slash mechanics and a dumb story with really juvenile humor is somehow one of my favorite games ever

    Why? The extremely repetitive and shallow gameplay has charm to last for two games , the story is dumb and yet heartwarming at the same time and the humor while juvenile has many great moments    A linear game that could have been on PS2 with extremely repetitive and shallow hack and slash mechanics and a dumb story with really juvenile humor is somehow one of my favorite games ever

    Why?

    The extremely repetitive and shallow gameplay has charm to last for two games , the story is dumb and yet heartwarming at the same time and the humor while juvenile has many great moments with one being driving a **** combine over zombies while "You Spin Me Around" is on the radio .

    Only Suda51 can pull this crazy stuff off and somehow make it work lol    … Expand

    This game was a crazy ride. It was an absolutely unusual take on Zombies. It was so weird that it made it kind of good. I had so much fun with it's mechanics that I played it over and over again until plat. It was pure fun.

Ok so it doesn't have the greatest replay value but if you like absurd hack and slash games and you praise games like Duke Nukem for their shameless behaviour then this game is for you!     this game has a very perverted roll your eyes kind of humor with the tad over sexual inaction of Juliet (which being a female I wasn't offended,I know it's part of the humor). Despite being targeted towards men, I guess, as a famale gamer I still was able to play this game and enjoy it. I like the whole comic book art style, and I like how as you progress you unlock more power ups andthis game has a very perverted roll your eyes kind of humor with the tad over sexual inaction of Juliet (which being a female I wasn't offended,I know it's part of the humor). Despite being targeted towards men, I guess, as a famale gamer I still was able to play this game and enjoy it. I like the whole comic book art style, and I like how as you progress you unlock more power ups and costumes. I especially love the ones that were references towards Anime's like high school of the dead (sucks some of the good costumes here pre order like the goth costume).     It's a stupid game with a stupid story with a lot of fan service, but it doesn't tried to be more that what it is, is fun to play and thats what's important, there are annoying parts but it doesn't mess the whole game.

    I really like grasshopper, and suda51 even if they make a lot of games like this :P

This is a game that wants you to play it several times, it is quiet short so this shouldn´t be a problem. But for me it was enough to play it once. It just didn´t motivated me enough to play it several times. Different outfits are no reason to keep me playing and the story (if you can call itThis game is so stupid, it is unbelievable! But stupid can also be fun, and that´s the case here. This is a game that wants you to play it several times, it is quiet short so this shouldn´t be a problem. But for me it was enough to play it once. It just didn´t motivated me enough to play it several times.     This game is not meant to take seriously. I had fun playing this game but overall this game is pretty bad. The story is quite short, the jokes are bad, and the game play is rather repetitive. You play as a blonde cheerleader with a chainsaw and you kill zombies...enough said. There's a boss at the end of every level. The replay value is extremely low. I Platinum the game and got rid of it.This game is not meant to take seriously. I had fun playing this game but overall this game is pretty bad. The game revolves around Juliet Starling a typical American cheerleader until a zombie outbreak occurs on her 18th birthday. Luckily Juliet is from a family of zombie hunters, it’s up to her to rescue her boyfriend Nick and her fellow classmates for the zombie horde.

    Story: 7/10
    Lollipop Chainsaw brings nothing new in terms of story. Like Buffy it is based around a quick witted gorgeous cheerleader taking on evil forces from another dimension. I instantly fell in love with Juliet and her bodiless boyfriend Nick, voiced by two my favourite voice actors, Batman: Arkham Asylum’s Tara Strong and Smallville’s Michael Rosenbaum. However throughout the game you are introduced to Juliet’s family who barely have enough screen time to learn anything about them. The dialogues is a hit and miss, some lines are hilarious while others just fail.

    Visuals & Sound: 8/10
    The game design is where Lollipop Chainsaw truly shines. Although the graphics are dated, the fun sparkle and rainbow effects and impressive boss designs make up for it. This is evident as early as the main menu which features an animation of Juliet riding her bike with Cherry Bomb being played in the background. The soundtrack is fantastic, ranging from classic pop hits from Toni Basil and Joan Jett to head banging hits by Dragonforce and acclaimed composer of the Silent Hill series, Akira Yamaoka.

    Gameplay: 6/10
    At its core Lollipop Chainsaw is crazy button mashing zombie game and this is its problem. Attacks feel sluggish and inaccurate forcing the player to use cheap moves to defeat special enemies. The game is extremely repetitive and linear and some of the levels seem more like a chore than fun. These tedious levels are broken up by mini-games which range from quite fun to really annoying. Although I liked the interesting visual designs of the bosses, I found them boring and easy to defeat all consisting of dodging and hitting them when they are stalled.

    Extras & Multiplayer: 5/10
    They replay value for this game is quite limited because it is so tedious and repetitive. Other than replaying the campaign again on harder difficulties or to obtain Dad’s high score there is nothing else to do and the game can be c completed in less than 10 hours. Lollipop Chainsaw is filled with collectables, a library of songs and lots of outfits for Juliet to wear although this is pointless as you cannot replay the game multiple times.

    Enjoyment: 5/10
    Although I found the game to be tedious and boring at times, I still enjoyed some parts of it. The atmosphere and dialogue is great and is tremendous fun to watch. The problem with this game is the gameplay, its sluggish controls and dull chapters which bring the whole game.

    By now you must know this game has a lot of technical issues. Nevertheless it's fun, funny, entertaining and all the weirdness just works and charms you. If you can live with a few technical issues and like the though off killing zombies with a chainsaw wielding blond teenage cheerleader, then buy this.

    A truly crazy zombie slasher that's putting the absurd style of the main heroine and the game's fetishistic stylization of a lollipop flavour up to the front. If you have a look at the actual gameplay, you get a sinusoid of a stereotype and enjoyment, up and down, up and down. If this kind of style and humour suits you, try it. However, do not expect Dead Rising out of it, this is really different.
