    Don't buy this game!!! You can not WALK or MOVE in this game by yourself, you can not look around. Everything is scripted! Even your walking and looking around is scripted!!! This is NOT a first person shooter!

    The critics are harsh on this one, I picked up HF:A with the precision shot gun free, chucked it to a mate while I got on the sharp shooter and we had an awesome arvo smashing through it. Its a fun game that ran with no glitches in the 7 or so hours we played it. Best graphics I've seen in a rail shooter and is also a trophy hunters dream come true. A must buy for rail shooter fans! Avoid HF:A if your looking for a deep story because that it does not have, however the intensity of battles is well created and the action is almost non-stop barring some beginning/end mission scenes that can be buttoned-thru.     Actually I think calling the story generic is giving it too much credit
    You’re just some dude named will that wants to be a marine
    You don’t care about this guy or what’s going on, you just point and shoot while the game continues forward
    The aiming mechanics feel way too sensitive for this game to feel satisfying and the levels all look identical and have no color making this 3 hour game a drag to go through.
    And the 6 axis controls aren’t sensitive enough having you annoyingly flinging your controller around trying to progress.
    After the end of a chapter which is split into 2 missions you can upgrade a perk such as health or reload speed in the skill tree.
    These are actually helpful as you can die fairly quickly especially since the game really has no hit detection system, you don’t really know you’re getting shot until you’re dead
    You’re focused on the enemies, it’s impossible to keep your eye on your health meter on the bottom left of your screen.
    This lack of hit detection or automatic health regeneration leaves to many frustrating parts in the game, top that with not being able to see some enemies behind the glare of the sun forcing you to just blind fire until you get lucky.
    This game isn’t worth your time.
    The only good news is that this game has a quick platinum, but even for trophy hunters I warn you this is probably one of the most boring platinum trophies you will obtain
    Your 6 hours with this game after you beat it a 2nd time on veteran difficulty will feel like 60 hours have passed.
    This game isn’t fun, it’s a boring grind fest.
    Stay away.

    It's fitting that the developers are called Mastiff, because this game looks like a dog's breakfast. Each mission is a waterlogged shamble through the land that time and PS2 forgot, where you'll have to re-kill the same six simpletons over and over. [February 2012, p.75]

    Your enjoyment of Heavy Fire: Afghanistan will be directly proportional to your expectations. There is absolutely nothing that is exceptional about it, which, in my opinion, is just fine as the cost mitigates the quality. It functions as it should, and as long as you don't walk in expecting Call of Duty, your feelings won't be hurt. Much.

    Heavy Fire: Afghanistan certainly isn't the best lightgun shooter on the PS3. This seems to do neither very well, and when saddled with decent graphics but mediocre sound, it becomes a less appealing game overall.
