The most fun I've had with GTA IV. Very funny and very entertaining, just like the old games. And at around 12 hours of gameplay it's very cheap as well! This was actually better then the original game, so it's a pity this is dlc.

But the ridiculous dialogue is starting to get a bit stupid. I understand that this is GTA but this is just plain ridiculous, every single cutscene has some profanity in it and it is just plain ridiculous. This content isn't that bulky but the main new feature is the nightlife. Gay Tony is a club owner and Luis is the Operations Manager of those clubs. He can venture into 3 clubs and be a bouncer in 2 of them. The bouncer jobs are really just venturing between looking, throwing, sex and conversation so it gets a bit boring. You can also dance and drink at the clubs and you still get those looks when you fall down the stairs drunk as hell which is nice. There a couple of new weapons and vehicles and they add alot to the mix. But the best feature in this content was the base jumping, finally when i jump out of my helicopter (at a new higher altitude) I can land safely or just fall from a higher distance. Minor graphics improvements are included and a couple of new songs and thats about it.
Gameplay-10-GTA gameplay is still the same old awesomeness
Sound-8-Some of those club songs get really annoying
Graphics-9-Minor improvements make it look slightly better
Value-6-$30 for some new weapons and a couple of new features is ridiculous
Story-8-Great moments and funny albeit stupid dialogue
Overall-41/50-A great addition to the game but a bit lackluster in content

The Ballad of Gay Tony encourages us to visit Liberty City one last time, and succeeds tremendously. And Rockstar proves once again that they are masters at the art of turning common criminal people into likable heroes. Luis Lopez, the new guy, is a stereotype-evading ''bouncer with a brain'' at a local nightclub under the management of the eccentrically funny Gay Tony. The text shared between these two opposite characters is masterful, enhanced further with perfect voice acting (an all-times standard for the Grand Theft Auto series). This story arc closes the Trinity, the union of all three GTA IV story arcs, and closes it with perfection, tying up all loose ends that were left. The extra activities are an improvement from The Lost and Damned, and once again Rockstar gave special attention to details as every menu and screen display was altered to fit the new ''fabulous'' style of The Ballad of Gay Tony. If you have played Grand Theft Auto IV, take this invitation back into Liberty City. You will not regret it. Expand

Ah the good old days of challenging video games. This expansion has four or five new mission lines, where the one provided by Yusuf is a high point in the series. The story doesn't REALLY make sense. It's about money and people who want it. The gameplay is mostly standard GTA stuff. Some missions show creativity, but none of them blow your mind.

You rarely have to really deal with the cops, because the wanted level goes down as soon as you hide somewhere. The campaign felt kind of 'tacked on' to the game world, as opposed to a game where the scenery is created for the story to unfold most gracefully.

The gunplay offers more challenge than that of GTA 5, but it still has that automated lock on feature that makes it a little bit non-engaging.

If you're desperate for 6-8 hours of extra GTA, then this is your package.

Despite some frame rate issues and no other new stuff besides a few cheats, cars, bikes, choppers and weapons, it is a much lighter game than GTA IV and has lots of cool stuff. If you have GTA IV, then you must have this one.

The Ballad of Gay Tony perfectly completes the story of Liberty City's life. Yes, the plot addition is inferior to The Lost and Damned. First, it is not unique. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. GTA IV was an awesome game. I liked the story, the city and the characters (most of the time). GTA: The Ballad of Gay Tony blows GTA IV directly out of the water! Not only are the brighter graphics a great touch but the addition of new and advanced weapons, tanks, the Buzzard attack chopper and parachutes make this game a million times more immersing and entertaining. The story nicely revolves around the struggles of Anthony "Gay Tony" Prince, a nightlife legend who is the founder of the two hottest nightclubs in all of Liberty City. Hercules (a gay club) and Maisonette 9 (the straight club). This is Tony's story viewed through and played through Tony's bodyguard and business partner's perspective, 25-year-old Luis Fernando Lopez. It's Luis who must make sure that Tony's life doesn't come crashing down due to his excessive drug and alcohol abuse and his struggles financially that could cause his clubs to go bankrupt. The only question is, will Luis be able to handle it or could the partying be done for good? While this story may not be quite as filling as the main game's one, it is still filled with lots of fun mainly because in one mission, you might be blowing up boats whereas in the next you might go assassinate some enemies and then escape using the parachute on your back. Things like that and so much more make this game an absolute must-have! Expand

This DLC improves on the main game in every way: better grapics, more colors, more fun and a better story. Back to basics! More realistic is not always more fun, is probably the lesson that Rockstar Games learned after making GTA IV.

I just finished this DLC hour ago.
Excelent throwback to days when DLCs were actually DLCs... hours and hours of content.
TBOGT is better than TLAD in my opinion.

Lot of funny missions, these with Yusuf were more like Saints Row than GTA, but i liked it.

This expansion closes the fantastic story of niko's gta iv, with the stories of the biker Johnny and the manager Luis López. Mixing three stories of liberty city where people are crazy and anything can happen.

  1. The Ballad of Gay Tony again takes the cheeky and impossible spirit of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, and brings it back to life with the fantastic technology from GTA IV. An amazing opportunity to revisit the always amazing Liberty City.

GTA returns to its utmost craziness through a great and charming story.
  3. The amusing dialogue, fun gameplay, and delightfully absurd missions make this a must-buy for everyone, whether by download (in which case it requires a copy of GTA IV to run) or on disc with The Lost and Damned.
