This is a squad cover based game. Yet the geniuses at Little Orbit apparently felt that having opaque landscape was not important. So when you move a soldier over a grassy area you can't see if he's sprinting or in cover etc. The sound effects sound like a ten year old was in charge. The actual explosion effects are horrendous.

The AI is nonexistent. The enemies NEVER engage you. You always have to find them. Sadly there is no hint icon like X-COM. So imagine boards the size of X-COM where every search and destroy mission you have to explore every nook and cranny for that one last crawlie(yes that is an actual enemy unit name.)

    The graphics wouldn't be impressive on a PS3.. Let alone a PS3.

This is nothing but a rushed cash grab. Sadly people who like X-COM might be willing to give it a try, just like I did, because it emulates X-COM. Don't. Save your money and just play through X-COM again. This is easily one of the worst games I've ever played. The development team should be ashamed for releasing this pathetic game.

Falling Skies: The Game does, at least, play as it is supposed to; there don’t appear to be any glitches, and you’ll probably enjoy the first few missions. After that, however, it rapidly wears thin.

Falling Skies looks terrible, yet still offers a serviceable, if pale, imitation of an XCOM game.

Falling Skies: The Game may be a serviceable XCOM clone, but it fails to use the potentially awesome license in any interesting ways.
