Apr 6, 2012Blazblue is a great 2D fighter with fantastic anime graphics. It's well balanced and fun to play, offering a deep fighting system whilst still being accessible for beginners. Most importantly, the characters, moves and general design all provide a breath of fresh air in a genre totally dominated by Capcom products.

Apr 5, 2012My favorite fighting game. Very friendly for beginners, if you like the anime style. A good story, great soundtrack and gorgeous animation and character design. The online mode isn't all that good, all you can play are ranked and player matches. Pick this up if you like fighting games, anime, or the Guilty Gear games.

May 26, 2011I played this at an anime convention, and it is easily the best fighting game I have played. Beautiful graphics, ridiculous combos, and a nice selection of characters make this title a blast. As a side note, I'm quite deadly with Taokaka.

MarkCJul 23, 2009Great 2D fighter that is the best around. Great graphics and characters that all feel completely different make it the best fighter out there right now.

NikolaosP.Jul 21, 2009One of the best games i've played this year, truly a fighting gem. Great roster of original characters, very good story(for this genre, thats a first) and quite possibly the best online in a fighting game yet. I think some people believe that 2d is inferior to games like SC or SF4 but once they give it some time, they'll fall in love with it.

SeanMJul 16, 2009Probably my favorite fighter I've played, and yes that includes Street Fighter. All the characters are incredibly unique and very well-balanced. The graphics are nothing short of amazing and a somewhat decent story mode is great to have in a fighter, not that many people will play it for that, it's just nice to have. The online play is great as well.

JustinB.Jul 16, 2009Really a 9.6 for me i loved this game the level of depth in just one character is amazing I've had the game scince release and i still have yet to play as all the characters this is because they are all unique and have their own fighting style. I'll be playing this for a long time cant wait for the dlc.

NickCJul 13, 2009Don't listen to the low voters, if you are reading this page at all it is because you are interested in fighting games. This game deserves all the attention it is getting. Every character has a very unique style of fighting and they're all very balanced. The netcode (post-patch) is amazing and is lag free even if it says I have a terrible connection. A must have for fighting game fans.

KyleT.Jul 12, 2009The games style is superb, and the replay value is through the roof. There are not many characters compared to most fighters, but the ones that are here have a lot of depth. It could take months of dedication to master one of the games vibrant personalities.

AnonymousMCJul 11, 2009Simply one of the best fighting games ever made, with a deep system that gives you a lot to learn but a system that allows new players and people that struggle in fighting games still pull off some impressive moves. The art style is pretty odd, and I'm not an anime fan but spend some time with this game and you quickly see why people are going nuts for this.

HectorCJul 5, 2009This game is magnificent. From the jaw-dropping visuals, to the unique characters, to the branching story, to the seamless online mode, BlazBlue raises the bar on what a 2D fighter can be. Highly recommended.

Who would have thought a 2D side-scrolling fighter could look this amazing on a next-gen system. Well, obviously ARC did and they delivered with the heir apparent to the Guilty Gear franchise.
-
BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is the type of game fans usually get only once a generation. The sheer amount of passion and care that was taken to ensure balance, accessibility, and enjoyment is nearly unmatched.
-
Their work deserves attention -- and praise -- because it exceeds expectations and delivers a thoroughly well-thought out, pragmatic, and enjoyable online experience. I can say without hesitation that BlazBlue raises the barometer on which all fighters should be judged.
