It's not quite as good as the magnificent Mutant Storm Reloaded on 360, but it's still great fun. The motion sensor adds a neat twist on the genre also. I would have liked to see a Time Attack mode, where you can play any level in the game, rather than just the 'start at level 1' arcade style. Oh well, maybe there will be an improved Blast Factor 2.

Blast Factor is insanely difficult at some points, but I guess that is precisely why I have a special affection for it. It offers different modes and a cooperative mode, which I particularly enjoyed. If you are looking for a challenge, Blast Factor may be a good option.

A twin stick shooter before Super Stardust, it is actually a fun game with tight gameplay and controls, nice graphics, and the fact that it is made by Bluepoint who later makes remakes and remasters is really interesting to talk about.

  1. A solid shooter that fans will enjoy and a cheap way to show off some amazing effects on your new Playstation 3. [JPN Import]
  2. Blast Factor has some exciting moments and offers a unique twist on a familiar formula, but it still ends up feeling generic and forgettable.

There are countless games of its genre that do it better, some of which are more than 20 years old, and its use of tilt functionality doesn't change that.
