This is a truly excellent example of what a DLC should offer - it fits perfectly with the franchise while offering a fresh experience. The great shame is that it shows the holes in bioshock 2. If bioshock 2 would have shown this kind of challenge and originality it would have been a ground breaking game - shame that we had to wait for a DLC to show what the developers could really do withThis is a truly excellent example of what a DLC should offer - it fits perfectly with the franchise while offering a fresh experience. I usually don't like downloadable games very much, but I'm a Bioshcok sucker and could not resist. For the money, this game blows away some of the bigger full retail releases I've tried recently! GREAT game and an awesome addition to the Bioshock universe. It may not add much to the old Bioshock formula, but when it's already as good as it is you don't need to.

i wish they wouldn't have made it so hard. i played the game through on hard and while supplies were low and big sisiters got annoying i still had just enough if i did it right to make it through. in this however great of a dlc it is and as much as i enjoyed the new setting and side story i was constantly out of ammo completely. forced to use melee one hit at a time until i killed the bigi wish they wouldn't have made it so hard. i played the game through on hard and while supplies were low and big sisiters got annoying i still had just enough if i did it right to make it through. in this however great of a dlc it is and as much as i enjoyed the new setting and side story i was constantly out of ammo completely. forced to use melee one hit at a time until i killed the big daddy or big sister that was mad at me. even rooms full of splicers and brutes waiting for precious drops of ammo or something, but no tons of pep bars and things of that nature. come one make it hard but not annoyingly impossible. great story and great new locations made it worth it tho. Minerva's Den sets the bar for what DLC should be. Not overpriced or just a couple of extra levels, but something that adds a lot to the game. It's a single-player DLC separate from the main game which follows the story of Subject Sigma, who has mysteriously been reactivated.

In it the player explores a previously unseen area of Rapture called Minerva's Den. The DLC will take a few

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is the first time I’ve played Minerva’s Den as part of the Bioshock Remastered Collection for PS4 and I think it’s the best of the lot so far and an absolutely amazing DLC. It has so much more content, new and interesting enemies like the very cool Lancer Big Daddies and the story is phenomenal. I love how it explains how the technology in Rapture is still working and what happened to Tenenbaum but also the story of Milton, Pearl and The Thinker was outstanding. The twist really caught me unawares and the ending actually made me cry it was so beautiful. A perfect addition to Bioshock 2. Expand

Graet. This extra level is a wonderful supplement of the main story. And the plot of the dlc itself is intriguing.

This add-on's great pacing and memorable story are excellent reasons to return to Rapture.

Solid, but not startling. [Issue#51, p.103]
  3. It's one hell of a trip from beginning to end and, by the end of its four-hour journey, will only make it tougher for you to wait two years for BioShock Infinite.
