A pretty weak campaign is compensated for by an excellent online multiplayer mode.

It's a decent attempt at a Bond game. Plays like a decent FPS, with a few bond-type moments, following the films quite well. My problem with the game is that there's very little sneaky spy game type action, it's just lots of shooting with whatever gun will do the job... and you can still snipe with a shotgun! This is a fun as heck rental. Short single player, but a blast. A must rent for a Bond fan.

I found this game had an average single player however the multiplayer side of things is very enjoyable and it's really fun to be able to play Golden Gun again.

Horrendous! Considering the game was based on (arguably the best online shooter ever) COD4 it leaves so much to be desired. So much so, that after only 3 hours gameplay (having completed the game on its hardest setting first time around in that time) I am willing to trade it in or sell the game to anyone willing to waste £30 on it let alone £40! What a disappointment. I was expecting a game with some quaility to it. I heard that they used the game engine from Call of Duty 4. Well if they did its nowhere to be found in this game. The graphics were a disappointmnet, definitly didn't look like a ps3 game. Looks more like a ps2 game. Doesn't look High-def. The gameplay doesn't feel good. An average shooter with some great bond moments sprinkled throughout. Bond fans will enjoy hearing Daniel Craig as his cut-throat bond, but thats about all there is to elevate this game from mediocrity.

Enjoyable game to play, follows the movie's premise pretty much. Overall I enjoyed the 6-8 hours it took to beat. Graphics were a 5/10, gameplay 7/10. Pick it up for $10 or less, worth that much.

Its a good addition to the 007 franchise and a decent movie-based title. It just... needs a lot more polish, especially since this game uses the CoD engine.

Great game, but really short, it takes just a few hours to complete the game. It's not worth buying, unless you can get it really cheap, since multiplayer is pretty much dead now days.

this was the game that was supposed to launch james bond into the next era of gaming and it came in with a yawn, this game has a special place in my heart as it was my first ps3 game and played it for hours just on the single player , but playing this game 12 years later i can safely say it doesn't hold up nearly as well as the older bonds

Story: well technically this is quantum of

Story: well technically this is quantum of solace and casino royale stories adapted to a video game. i think the story is stupid especially when paired with both of these movies. the daniel craig bonds have always been about what it means to kill for your country and being a brute in general . this is more of the mediums fault than treyarch's but in the game you kill A LOT of people in the films james only kills those he either has to or those he kills because they threaten england and vesper's character was devalued a lot. even in past bond games the bond girls were interesting and had character , here one of the best bond girls of all time is relegated to damsel in distress and only seen in like 2 cut scenes. for a game that takes from 2 movies its awful short
    Story: 1/10

World building: given the james bond series episodic nature world building is tough but just like the story it's pretty bare , except for maybe being an inspiration for the beginning of spectre if it even was. it doesn't really add to the james bond mythos at all. this game was pretty well a shameless cash grab by activision trying to capitalize on the james bond trade mark
    World building 1/10

Graphics: while this is a very early ps3 game i can't fault its graphics to harshly , they are fairly good but definitely show their age im sure for 2008 the game looked great but it's hard to say they are good considering 007 nightfire still holds up today whereas this game doesn't . it has better physics than night fire so maybe that's the trade off ?
    Graphics: 6/10

Gameplay: this game plays fairly well , using both first and third person views as an homage to past bond games, but that's all it really dose, uses the same engine cod4 uses yet this game feels so much clunkier. the hand guns handle well , there is a distinct difference between the revolver , 1911 and p99 but the autos all feel the same , so do the snipers and shotguns , speaking of shotguns the multiplayer was so unbalanced back in the day , could get sniped with a shotgun from across the map, you know i enjoyed playing this game but after writing out my thoughts i can safely say this game was a huge disappointment
    Gameplay: 5/10

Sound design: WELL considering some of the audio was clearly ripped straight from the movie the acting is good , daniel craig gives his A game on basically every project he is in ( Except for bloodstone). the guns sound good except the automatics, the music is good but then again when you have hollywood level actors , music that has been iconic since the 60s and tech from one of the greatest shooters of that era its hard to mess up the way the game sounds ( and somehow they did with the guns)
    Sound design 7/10

Decent FPS, nothing special, but enjoyable for a single playthrough. Pretty simple, but shooting mechanics are fine and level variety is ok.

  2. This is "GoldenEye" for a new generation. And praise doesn't come much higher than that.

The action is less compelling and the world that’s built around Bond doesn’t do much to enhance the fun factor. All of the additions do nothing to push the game ahead of other first-person shooters and instead take you out of the world of being Bond.
