I like it. I like the fact it includes many different types of games.

The real question here is this a good replacement for all those board games causing clutter and taking up space? Value wise it's a no brainer as this disc has 20 games and includes simplistic instructions to play them and help you along if you don't know the rules. It has very simplistic trophies to achieve but I can't see how this would be interesting to anyone over the age of 5-8 maybe. Production quality isn't very high but is serviceable. Some games like chess especially though are hard to play because choosing pieces are not easily defined. Load times are ok but not instant. Production wise the games are there but just ok at best which does make me think it'd probably be best to hold onto original board games since this game also has very little "atmosphere" and warmth to it. Honestly, board games are about social interaction with a few exceptions, but not all and this collection contains some good solitude games to just keep oneself entertained and occupied for a random amount of time when necessary. So just by which games these are I'd say it's not worth the swap because of presentation. The game disc does however contains famous games you probably already know. "Dice" is "Yahtzee", "Enigma" is "Master Mind", there is chess, checkers, jigsaws, memory games and so forth and I did enjoy a brief stint trying some of these games as I've never owned all these games in my life so from that aspec it wàs nice having this. That said the presentation could have been much better to make you want to use this as a replacement. Had I owned all these games I'd be keeping them and getting rid of this disc, but since I don't this game succeeds in allowing me to have these games so from that standpoint it's a success. Unfortunately I own too many games I'd put ahead of this I checked it out wrote this review and that's as much entertainment as I will try to get from it. I suspect this will be the case with anyone who buys this nowadays. Expand

Ultimate Board Game Collection? More like Ultimate BORED Game Collection, am I right? (I know this type of joke is old, but it had to be said). I would have a better time playing Pong by myself on an emulator than play this.

With a $20 price point, Ultimate Board Game Collection is a steal and will provide countless hours of enjoyment.
  2. For roughly fifteen dollars, you get 20 board games on a single blue-backed disc. That's a great value, assuming you're into board games and have a couple friends nearby.

Instead of a compilation of good times, Ultimate Board Game Collection is a horrifying pile of examples of why some developers should spend their time focusing on gameplay instead of showing off their environments.
