    Its predecessor was far from original, and though Ty 2 isn't completely original itself, it offers some great platforming-action/adventure gameplay for children of all ages. Pros: More Australian accents and likable characters, improved controls and camera angles, and crisp graphics.     I think the plotline to this game is terrible if you call what what ty goes through good enough to be a plotline. You only keep two of the original rangs if you upgrade everything, and they deleted/mixed other rangs. The Zoomerang and infrarang are now the Infrarang/Xrang. That's bull. The Chronorang is completely done away with, which I think is a disaster. The collectibles arent worth collecting anymore. Everything is for opals, nothing worthwhile. Even if you manage to accomplish 100%, what do you get? A big fat Nothing. The missions have almost nothing to do with the game and in no way stays in touch with the core gaming of Ty 1. If you were to base the score simply on gaming, I would give it a 0.7. Now we get into mechanics. Yeah, he walks, runs, swims, and drives fine. Loading screens are bearable. As far as programming and mechanics, this game is actually pretty good, which brings it up to a 3. Ty 1 actually had mechanics in spades. Other than that, Ty 2 is a terrible game. I would not wish this disease of a game on anyone older than 8. 8 year olds might actually enjoy it.… Expand

    I like the carachters. you get to buy stuff. i like the bunyips too. you get other maps. you get more rangs. there are harder frills.

Ty uses his trusty rangs and sharp white teeth to defeat his enemies, also uses giant humanoid robots to take out the big ones. The graphics in this game is awesome. The graphics in this game is awesome. You can see everything clearly and it showcases the beauty of its setting, Australia. The audio is just like the game's graphics, wonderful, well-produced and fits the missions. The dialogue in this game is really well-scripted although not as well as Sly Cooper but much better than Crash Bandicoot's usual toilet humor. Since the game is set in Australia, everyone speaks in Australian accent. Collectibles can be found anywhere. You can find them and buy them in shops. That's also racing games too. The racing games is almost like Crash Team Racing and Mario Kart, are filled of power-ups. The downside of this game is, with so little to offer, the game may look very empty in certain times. The hub looks very bland with that few missions. Unfortunately, the missions is almost similar to the others. They're like search and rescue, defense, dangerous delivery, chopper rescue and goes on and on like that. The game is really short, like much shorter than Sly-Cooper-and-the-Thevius-Raccoonus-short, when gamers already know what to do. Other than that, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue is a very fun game. The game doesn't break new ground but really entertaining. Below-12 years old kids, which this game is target fir, will love this game a lot. Too bad teenagers wouldn't enjoy it as much as they do to Star Fox and Spyro the Dragon though. Crash Bandicoot, you better understand that Ty is catching up to you!… Expand

    Not as good as the first, but still pretty fun to play. It kind of took the same route as the Jak Daxter series and started with this mission based type gameplay. This is still fun, but collecting thunder eggs was much more satisfying.

    Honestly, I had no problems with this game whatsoever, the boomerangs were unlike anything I had ever experienced in a game, the accents could be done up a bit, but apart from that, I loved it way better than any crash bandicoot games.

    The first Ty game, despite not being largely original, brought to us a good platformer with top-notch level design and fun challenges. However, I feel that everything that was enjoyable in the first game is missing from this one.

    Even while playing the action-packed beginning, I already had a bad feeling about this game and was hoping for it to be just a way of introducing the story, but nope. This game is no longer a platformer. It's a mix of combat, racing and minigames. Gone is the great level design, now you'll either be exploring minimal areas with some sort of a minigame or completely linear pathways with tons of bad guys thrown in. The fact that you are doing missions and driving a car to get there instead of exploring the game world as you did in the first game is inexcusable. This is not what I expected from a sequel, I wanted more of the same, not a complete change of everything that I liked.
    Even the map screen looks horrible this time, it's like: "You know what? **** it, we've changed the whole thing already so nobody will give a damn about the map."

    I don't know, man. There is no reason to collect anything, because it is scattered all over the place and you have no location counters (it's basically the same thing as the pictures in the first game, which is something I hated). It's not like you have a reason to collect everything anyway. You can just repeatedly run around the town to collect opals (there are thousands of them now) and buy stuff. You don't need to do the rest.

    Despite what I've stated, there are two positives I can think of that ultimately do not change my opinion on the game, but I'll write them nevertheless: It looks like the character interactions are better than in the first game + there are new abilities and boomerangs in this game. That's about it. Everything else is worse.

    Unfortunately, if you liked the platforming aspect of the first game, I predict you will be largely disappointed with this game. And to make matters worse, the third game in the series follows the same formula as this one - mission-based gameplay, so you'll be bored with that one as well. You might as well skip it and play a better platformer. such as Rayman Revolution, Spongebob: Battle for the Bikini Bottom, hell, even Kao the Kangaroo 2 and Jak and Daxter: Precursor's Legacy with their bad jumping and camera controls are better, because they actually are platformers, not a mix of everything you never wished for.    … Expand

    Ty 2 is a amazing sequel to the original.
    it improves on everything in the first game.
    Graphics and Models are very much better.
    Story is more serious then funny but still keeps its charm.
    Gameplay is expanded upon in new Boomerangs and Mechanics.
    Lets hope for a Sequel (5) Based on this formula.

    Though getting through Ty 2 is particularly easy, it would likely be enough of a challenge for younger players to make this a good gateway game. The same humor, scripting, and play mechanics that feel childish to experienced players will be new and entertaining to those without experience.

    Overly sophisticated elements have been held back to appeal to the younger gamer but some hugely tricky jumping puzzles are bound to cause frustration. Luckily, gameplay is varied. If you get stuck, you can hit the road, and before long you'll be faced with a different challenge.

    The game's graphics are charming and colorful, and certainly very child-friendly. The many levels you'll find are of a respectable size and with many things to do, but in pure technical terms, none of this will "wow" an experienced gamer.
