PSM MagazineWe'd rather play the bonus game: the original "Turtles in Time." [Dec 2005, p.112]
-
Mutant Nightmare has improvements over its predecessors here and there, like a better camera and nice graphics, but when the basic game is this boring, that's about as useful as replacing the air freshener in a house build in the sewers. [Dec 2005, p.123]
-
There is one reason to look into this dim sequel: it packs in "Turtles in Time," the excellent four-player arcade release from over a decade back.
-
It's a vapid action game without the refined control and visual flair required of a game with no soul.
-
To its credit, Mutant Nightmare is a touch better than the last game, "Battle Nexus," in that it doesn't force-feed you a gaggle of terribly clunky platforming sequences to try to keep things interesting. But beyond that meager distinction, this still isn't a very enjoyable game.
-
The graphics are ok but could've been better and the audio is typical TMNT fare.
-
As nightmares go, this one ranks right up there with the one about entering the schoolyard pantsless, and perhaps even on fire. The turtles deserve better, and its unfortunate this game extends their bad luck streak.
-
Good for what it is: a repetitive arcade-inspired beat-'em-up based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series.
-
It’s a boring, repetitive, dull hack n’ slash game with bland visuals, unbalanced gameplay, and useless ninja scrolls.
-
A true nightmare to sit down and play for a long period of time.
-
This is a fun little romp that captures the feeling of the old school arcade game, while adding some features that keep the game from feeling too dated.
-
Yes - there were many technical issues with this game, but at the end of the day, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 - Mutant Nightmare won the hearts of my Game Testers because it was challenging, and there was enough going on to keep them entertained.
-
After five minutes of this you'll be bored stiff. [PSW]
-
Pelit (Finland)Makes you want to cry. What a lame excuse for a 3D fighting game. [Dec 2005]
-
It does offer the upgrade system which redeems it, but overall the game is kind of boring.
-
May be a wee improvement over "Battle Nexus," but it's still a pretty bad game. It's unfortunate.
-
In the end, it is easy for the average gamer to skip this mediocre action game and not miss out on too much.
-
Games Master UKAdmittedly superior to the dire "Battle Nexus." Only one percent superior, mind. Poor-poise. [May 2006, p.58]
-
PSM2 Magazine UKAll you'd expect of a Turtles game - tired, repetitive, primary coloured hack 'n' slash monotony and nothing else. Don't even buy it for a hated younger relative. [June 2006, p.63]
-
Official Playstation 2 Magazine UKYou'll be asleep before you've clocked mission four. [May 2006, p.89]
