SingStar '80s is a natural progression for the series and a more light-hearted alternative to the aggressive post-pub fare of Pro Evo and the like. If you've always yearned for an excuse to dig out those pink leg-warmers, then this is for you. [PSW]

Yes, all of these songs came out in the decade of neon. Not all of these will fit your taste, but that's the way it is. Do not buy this game alone, it should be seen as an expansion to another Singstar title.

If Sony could offer more tracks per release it'd be worth the money, but as it stands it feels a little overpriced for the existing fans who'd be more than justified in feeling a little brassed-off with the idea of spending more on what is essentially the same game as last time with new tunes.

SingStar '80s' track list is still too wide-ranging to keep you from burning out on the small handful of songs that you'll enjoy singing.

You'll need to be mad on '80s music. If you're not, don't touch this with Simon Le Bon's. If you are, it's loads better than Popworld and well worth the cash. [PSM2]

Sony's latest SingStar doesn't add any frills to the package, but it does have a delightful mix of '80s pop and rock classics.

Similarly, it's cool that you can hook up an EyeToy and record yourself; if only the PS2 had a supported hard-drive and higher resolution EyeToy camera - like the PS3 will have.

As it stands, while very good, SingStar ‘80s is not overly indicative of the time period in the music world. Still, it offers a solid collection of tunes that karaoke singers will thoroughly enjoy performing.

If you're in the mood to scream the lyrics of a Duran Duran classic or try to keep up with Nema, this is the title for you -- everything that's in this game is available for you and your friends as soon as you unwrap the plastic.

It really (for us, at least) holds very little appeal when by yourself. With a group of friends though, it’s easily the most fun you can have with a PS2.

The technology behind Singstar needs to improve; charging $49.95 for what is essentially a cd is fairly expensive. However, the game is still incredibly fun and addictive in multiplayer, plus the songs are some of the best yet.
