    The game could have been a contender if it weren't for its touchy controls. Never mind the average graphics, it has long point to point courses, the only plus I can see in the game. Going back to the controls, the vehicles are a struggle just to keep on the road. Just one tap of the steering sends you to an overwhelming oversteer.     This game is hopeless, what on earth does anyone see in it, The graphics are bad to say the least and gameplay even worse, the cars handling is pathetic. Don't even think about buying this disappointment!

    I do not know the reason behind the hatred of this excellent game. The graphics are excellent and the gameplay is fantastic. I think the people who disagree with me are wrong and they should rethink their rating. I also think that it is pathetic to give this excellent and fantastic game a miserable 0. Giving it a 0 is very unthoughtful, and it is also a silly rating. No game in history I do not know the reason behind the hatred of this excellent game.     Yes, this game is based on the real-life Paris-Dakar Rally. The event is fun, but the game was not (even back in 2001). The controls are awful. There's no real challenge at all. The game offers four vehicle classes, SUVs, bikes, ATVs and buggies. Only one of each class is available from the start, and you don't unlock the rest until you beat the game.     I've played this game on my Laptop recently after sawing Pixel_Thing videos history about Dakar Racing Video Games, and his right this game is very unfair, difficult to play, but then I've realized I'm addicted to this game, the tracks are very well made like many others 2000 era well made games and the addiction came from the journey along    CRUNCHYFROG - Unlock All

    To be honest, this is one of the few games I played when I was young, I enjoyed every aspect. Remember, this is a PS2 game, and its graphics are fine, any fustration felt by you, is not very understandable. The game is good, I'd recommend it if you can't get any other game. It isn't as bad as it's been painted to be. And make sure, if you're going to write a review, write somethingTo be honest, this is one of the few games I played when I was young, I enjoyed every aspect. Remember, this is a PS2 game, and its graphics are fine, any fustration felt by you, is not very understandable. The game is good, I'd recommend it if you can't get any other game.     Such a bad game! Its nice that you can choose between different vehicles but the controls are a joke. They behave the same with every vehicle. Its almost unplayable...

    All the licenses and potential that Paris-Dakar Rally has as an enjoyable rally experience, however, go to waste in a game that makes the event it portrays seem more boring and dull than it should be.
