I clearly have fond memories of both the Open Season film and the game, as I remember watching the film so many times and playing the game on PC. The graphics look great for a PS2 title and I love how it makes play both Boog and Elliot. Outside the main mode, there are the wild challenges, which is basically an extra mode composed of 7 challenges and they can be fun. If I do have some problems with the game is that the main adventure mode feels very short and somewhat unfulfilling and collecting the items for Beth's scrapbook can be tedious. Also, some of the gameplay elements can be repetitive. Overall, this is still a solid tie-in game to the Open Season movie that definitely bring nostalgia to those who grew up with Open Season. 1. The action pauses so frequently to remind you how to excute your task that the entire game ends up feeling like one giant training tutorial. It's impossible to get stuck at any point because all of the answers are pretty much handed right to you.
  2. This rendition of Open Season is a plodding adventure full of inane fetch quests and lifeless dialogue scenes.

The comedy, while basic, actually had us laughing a few times through the game, and even though the story and character designs from the film are amazingly cookie-cutter, the game offers a few high points for anyone with little tikes in desperate need of some gaming goodness to go with the afternoon flick.
